GOOD MORNING ALL

Well 2020 is almost over and to end the year we have a new book from JR. Rain and Hp Mallory CASHMERE CURSES ( book one in the Wanda's Witchery series )

                            BOOK BLURB

Time to walk softly and carry a big stake…

I had it all.
A powerful coven. A charming Victorian mansion. A sexy car. A couture closet. Credit cards up the wazoo, and an endearing familiar.
Actually, scratch that, Hellcat would never be described as ‘endearing’. More like: the bane of my existence.
So, I almost had it all.
Then a vampire came along and ruined it when he turned me into a Blood Witch.
Now, I’ve been kicked out of my coven, kicked out of the mansion, I have no credit to speak of, the Lexus is a thing of the past and, not only am I driving something from the 80s, but it’s also unapologetically yellow. And rusted.
But the biggest kicker of all? I’m still stuck with Hellcat.
Even though my luck has too much in common with a toilet, if Wanda Depraysie is anything… it’s determined. Determined to make a go of things all by myself—determined to start over.
So, I pack up the few items I can actually call my own and I move to the only place that doesn’t fall under coven ownership—a little town in Oregon called Haven Hollow.
Imagine my surprise when I find out a gypsy has already taken up residence in this afterthought of a town. Well, no worries, witch magic trumps gypsy magic and I’ll make short work of her. After all, Haven Hollow is way too small for the two of us.
No, the gypsy won’t be an issue. It’s my new landlord who’s going to be the death of me… possibly quite literally. Why? Because he’s none other than the vampire who turned me into a Blood Witch in the first place, thereby ruining my life.
Lorcan Rowe is the most infuriatingly smug, irritatingly determined and offensively nosy person I’ve ever met and if my magic were functioning correctly, I’d hex him into oblivion.
But, that’s just it—my magic is on the fritz. And that won’t do—especially when I need to open my enchanted clothing store, Wanda’s Witchery, yesterday.
When my fabrics go missing at the same time that my magic stops working, I can only blame one person: Lorcan.
Well, that vampire is about to learn a very valuable lesson—you don’t mess with a witch, blood or otherwise, because when the going gets tough, the tough get a really sharp stake.

                     MY REVIEW
Wanda is not having a good week . She leaves her coven because her mother wants to hide her away because of what happened to her . She is on the hunt for a new place where she can call home. When she comes to Haven Hollow where she feels at home . Until she finds out that there is a gypsy living there and to top it off the Vampire that turned her into a blood witch is now her landlord and her neighbor .  When things start to go missing and her magic goes on the fritz she has to enlist the friends of Haven Hollow to help find out what is going on before she stakes the one man who actually makes her heart beat a little faster .

Ok I am going to tell you a little something when I started reading Wanda's book . I really didn't like her , to me she was whiny and was coming of as a brat . All she was doing was thinking about herself and how she was going to get rid of her competition or what she thought of as her competition . As I read I found out that she was growing on me and that I really started to care for her . She really grows up and realizes that there is more to being a person then what you can do . Its about the friends that you get along the way and you might actually find love along the way too.  Lorcan is hilarious as you see him worry and obsessing  about Wanda ,  There are characters from Poppy's potions that come out to play in this book also . Together everyone is so fun to read and you will love them

I truly love these two authors and their writing styles complement each other . They love to take you a roller coaster ride that will have you laughing all the way through it . The characters they write have their flaws but you get to see them work through the flaws and come out better people. This is a book you can sit down in an evening and read and trust me there are parts of the book that will have you laughing so hard you could snort . I can't wait to see where the authors take the characters and who they bring in to other books in the series . So if you want a fun book to end off the year check it out .

WOW TWO DAYS AND COUNTING

Good morning all , its two days and counting until Christmas where did the year go . Today I have the seventh book in the Mists of Mayhem and Magic series . ONE WITH SHADOWS  by Hp Mallory.

                            BOOK BLURB

   Episode 7: One With Shadows

After finding out all her schoolmates are possessed with the ghosts of long dead Druids, and narrowly escaping a close call with the Vryloka, Emma is on the run with the only man she trusts—her professor, Stone Draper. What will happen once they find themselves ensconced in a small cabin, out in the middle of nowhere?

Pagan isn’t sure it’s such a great idea to break into the Masked Magistrates with Nyx, in order to steal something—something unknown to him. But, when they get caught, and Pagan narrowly escapes, what will he do when he finds out Nyx never escaped?

Jolie is still haunted by her feelings for Rand, meanwhile her feelings for Morse are becoming more and more difficult to ignore and fight. She can’t help but wonder, though, what Morse is hiding? The more she thinks about him, the more she realizes she really doesn’t know who he is.

And Laucian finds himself more and more taken with the vampire hunter sent to murder him. When he appeals to her to help him defend Rowan, will she take the job?

                      MY REVIEW
Wow there is so much going on in this installment of the series .  Jolie is still being haunted by her feeling for Rand as her feeling for Morse are becoming harder to fight.  Poor Emma is running from possessed classmates and the only person she can trust is Stone .  Pagan is having second thoughts about Nyx and helping her out . And we have Laucain who well is trying hard not to fall for the vampire hunter that is after him and will she help him to protect Rowan .

Ok with this being the seventh book in the series we are finally getting to see more action . Each character is having so much going on . Emma is being chased and Stone is protecting her and boy do the sparks finally fly in the tiny cabin in the middle of nowhere.  Jolie finally gets to the spot where she finds out why she is being kept in the Abyss and why . I really love all of these characters and who with each episode of the series you see how much they have grown and become so much more complex . Even the new characters we see them growing and becoming more and more complex . They are holding their own with the characters we love .

This series is really becoming one of my favourite series . The author takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride in each book . She packs a lot into a short book. Each and every book in the series is just a fun read . I strongly suggest you read in order so you can get to really know these guys .  So if you want a good series to take you into the new year check them out, I promise you will fall in love with each and every character.

.
This anthology has some great novellas from some great authors and some new authors to me . There are different genres for everyone . There are some stories i preferred over other but over all the stories had my Christmas spirit soaring

The one story that I really loved was THE CHRISTMAS CONTEST  by Theresa Sederholt .
It is a sweet story of a grandfather wanting his grandson to find love and the way he does that is to have a contest to win his house in Nantucket .When Jack finds out well of course he is going to do something to stop it . Will Donald be able to bring Jack and Holly together in time for Christmas .
i truly loved these characters, Holly is the sweet woman who wants to get out of her dead end job . She will melt your heart . Jack well he is your typical guy who left to advance his career . They are sweet when they come together . Donald well I want him for a grandpa . he is a character and man you will fall in love with him from the first moment he gives you an oatmeal cookie .
This is a sweet novella that will have you wanting to hug grandpa and praying that Jack and Holly come together .  There is a moment in the book that you might shed a tear and have a hardy laugh. You will also want one of those oatmeal cookies that Donald makes and pays everyone off with .

This is just one of the fun filled stories you will find in this anthology . So if you want some time to yourself this holiday season this could be the book for you . A great book to curl up with so grab your glass of wine and a cozy blanket and snuggle on in.

HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO ROBYN PETERMAN

Good afternoon all , sorry I am late but was doing some last minute Christmas prepping . Today I have the new book by one of the funniest writers out there . FASHIONABLY DEAD AND LOVING IT ( book fourteen in the Hot Damned Series ) by Robyn Peterman,

                             BOOK BLURB

Being an undead Princess comes with baggage. And unfortunately, it’s not Prada.

Getting shredded in the Daily Fang, The Bloody Times and The National Dhampir is par for the course in the life of a royal Vampyre—especially mine. However, that’s nothing compared to the sh%tshow unfolding in my life.

My nightmares are coming true.

Satan is throwing fits about changing diapers

.The Baby Demons are full of cryptic messages.

Martha and Jane have a sphincter obsession.

There’s a half-naked Demon in my closet with a mouth as foul as mine.

On top of all that, we’re hosting Demon-hating royal houseguests.

Oh, and did I mention the Vampyre-eating-Zombies on the west coast?

With Ethan by my side, along with new friends and a few well-hidden enemies, it’s time to adjust my crown, put a few Vampyres in their place, and kick some Zombie butt.

I’m dead.

Life is still good.

I have unconditional love.

And on most days, when I’m not covered in Zombie guts, I’m wildly fashionable.

                        MY REVIEW

Its all starting with the weirdest nightmare that Astrid has ever had . With everything from Ethan and Satan making googly eyes at each other to the Vampyres that hate her . Mother nature swinging from the rafters and her butt being glued to the throne. What is a vampyre princess to do but figure out who is turning people into zombies and make nice with the demon in her closet and Ethan's family . She straightens her tiara and kicks some butt that is what she does .

Omg Astrid and the gang are back and honestly funnier then ever. Poor Astrid just wants to survive the weekend visit from all the snooty vampyres . She finds her inner princess in this installment and man the hilarity that ensues . She also has to handle Satan and his meltdown over his daddy duties which i will admit I nearly fell off the couch reading these two . Satan is just hilarious and still so self absorbed you will get a kick out of him . We also get to meet two new characters in Levi and Anastasia . Anastasia is Ethan's sister and has a wicked sense of humor . She is like the sister Astrid needs and wants . They are hilarious together.  Then there is Levi who is Astrid's brother or as what Satan says . He is brooding and well he is sexy as sin also. He doesn't want to be anywhere near Astrid but they are forced to be together and they have to work together to get to the bottom of the zombies .

This is the fourteenth book in the series and it seems just as fresh as the first book . The author has a way of writing that will have you snorting with glee . The characters are well written and you will love them all . The story is a fun fast read that will have you laughing all night . I love how the universe keeps growing with each and every new character added . The two new characters Levi and Anastasia better get their own book cause you know they will be fighting right up till the end . This would be a great story to read and relax after all your Christmas shopping is done . So check it out and check out the series . You will not be disappointed

GOOD MORNING ITS FRIDAY

Good Friday all , its the weekend. Today I have book 2 in the Progenitor series by Matthew Cox . Lets check out OUT OF MIND

                              BOOK BLURB

Sima Nuvari never expected to see her seventeenth birthday.

Outcasts seldom live long once they’re too old to look like innocent children. Survival requires hard choices: crime, gangs, prostitution, drugs, or worse. Sima got lucky—they kicked her off the planet.
Gangs won’t kill her anymore, but a giant, venomous cat might eat her.
She couldn’t believe anyone truly wanted to help her, but her harrowing arrival in a damaged escape pod chipped away at her armored psyche. Eight months after finding the colony, she’s made the worst mistake an Outcast can: becoming emotionally attached to another person. A new family offers her a good chance at life. Too good, in fact.
It’s probably all just a simulation. Fate would never allow her to be happy.
As if she needed more to keep her up at night than the planet Mirage possibly being an illusion, it seems not every colonist is happy. Someone out there is angry enough to kill… and somehow, Sima has gotten in the way of their plans.

                          MY REVIEW
When Sima found by the colony she is scared and not wanting help but they are there to help. She made the mistake of starting to care for the people that are her family .They are offering her a chance at a good life in some cases too good of a life . There is more to this planet then meets the eye. It all could be a simulation cause no one would want her to be happy . There is someone that is not happy and is angry enough to kill and Sima is the person they are after . Will Sima be able to have her happily ever after

Sima is a seventeen year old girl who has had a bad past but when she lands on Mirage . She ends up becoming a hero after she saves a couple of her friends . She kind of shies away from all the hero stuff and wants to become just a girl going to school. She is strong and resilient . She just wants to be happy but things just don't add up . You watch her become strong and fearless. She can kick butt . There are so many great characters that help and hinder Sima .

This author weaves a whole universe when he writes his stories . When you read you are transported to another time and place .  The characters are so well written and complex . The story is very involved .  There is intrigue and just a little bit of romance that goes on in this book . You will be on the edge of your seat most of the way through this book . This is the second book in the series but you can read it as a stand alone but to get to know the characters more i suggest you read book one . So if you want a great read for your winter nights check it out

WELCOME TO THURSDAY

Good afternoon all today I have a new book for you from our resident zombie writer Mike Evans and his new series VACATION FROM HELL ( An Apocalyptic Zombie Survival Series )

                            BOOK BLURB

A bad day off is better than a good day at work. At least that's what Seth thought until his dream vacation of visiting a civil war battleground came to life. Unfortunately, the dead soldiers that had been lying in peace had a hundred-year hunger to feed. Follow Seth and his family to see if they can escape the dead.

                        MY REVIEW

Well all Seth wanted was a great vacation with his family . Until the moment they went to a Civil War battleground . That is when for lack of a better word all hell breaks loose . They start coming back to life and they are hungry , I mean really hungry . All they want is brains and they are coming for anyone on the battle field . Now Seth and his family have to trust Earl to help get them out and someplace safe before the world is destroyed .

The characters are well written and when you see them you will be thinking yep that is my family on vacation . Seth is a father who just wants to have a good time but his family well they are your typical family who doesn't want to do anything on holiday .  We see them start off as your typical family with problems but once they are fighting for their lives you see them start to become more complex and they become a team that will fight together

This is a new series for the author and I really enjoy his zombie books . This is no exception you get to see how people react to unforeseen things that can happen when people are pushed to their breaking point . The only thing that had me not giving it a five stars I just felt at the beginning it kind of dragged a bit but once you meet the zombies the action really picks up and has you on the edge of your seat . Over all I truly enjoyed this book so if you want a good zombie book for your winter reading list check it out .

WELCOME TO WEDNESDAY ALL

Good Wednesday all hope everyone is doing ok and surviving this Christmas season . Today I have a brand new series for you from two of my favourite authors J.R Rain and H.P Mallory . GRUDGES (Dungeon Raider book one )

                             BOOK BLURB

  The Forge...

It’s not a place that gives anyone the warm and fuzzies.
No, The Forge is a dungeon mine that used to be home to the Deep Mountain Clan of dwarves. Then the orcs took control of it and forced the dwarves out.
Now it’s a death sentence to any who try to voyage into its dark depths.
That’s where I come in.
No, I’m not some sort of soldier or mercenary trying to set things right.
I’m a thief.
And I’ve plundered many dungeons—enough to have earned a reputation for myself.
I’m good at what I do and that’s the exact reason why I’ve been hired by holy knight, Cade, to take him into the bowels of The Forge.
Cade was entrusted by his higher-up to retrieve a holy scroll, located in the belly of The Forge.
The only problem (aside from the territorial orcs, the nightmarish beasts that roam the tunnels and shafts, and the fact that no one has ever reached the final level of The Forge) is…
My ex-boyfriend, Aram.
Right.
So, this isn’t one of my prouder moments, but a long time ago, Aram and I were together. Then I stole something precious from him and he’s been after me ever since.
Well, you know what they say about karma…
My karma finally caught up to me when Aram staged a setup and I fell for the bait.
Imagine Aram’s irritation when he finally gets the chance to arrest me, but then Cade shows up with this quest. Even though Aram is a Justiciar, an enforcer of the law, Cade’s rank trumps Aram’s which means Cade’s word goes.
And Cade wants me to lead this expedition.
As I see it, I have two choices: rot inside a jail cell for the rest of my life or take my chances in The Forge, with the potential to earn my freedom.
I choose The Forge.
After all, I’m always up for an adventure.

                          MY REVIEW
Rogue is a thief and a good thief , when someone comes back from her past she is almost caught. Her ex has her in his sights when Cade comes in and trumps everything and wants Rogue to go on a quest in the Forge . Rogue has two choices go to jail or lead them into the depths of the Forge and maybe earn her freedom .

This story has it all adventure , great characters oh and Orcs . Rogue is a very resilient young woman . She will keep you on your toes through out the book . She is tough but also can be very sweet . She just wants to survive and earn her freedom . I truly liked the characters all from Rogue to Cade they are well written and complex I can't just pick one to like . Rogue is strong and you will love her .

This story is a real departure for one of the authors but they both can write a good story with great characters. It is the start of an epic fantasy that has a lot of potential . I honestly did find it a little hard at the beginning to get into the story , I did feel a little disconnect until about chapter 3 and then the story really took off for me . Once I connected with Rogue I couldn't put the book down. I found myself cheering for them and sitting on the edge of my seat through out the book. Over all I really did enjoy this book and I can't wait to see where the authors take the characters in book two . So if you want a good fantasy book to get lost in this Christmas season check it out

                         MY REVIEW
After a terrible accident and the loss of her husband and daughters . Jenny Mitchell is ready for a new start . Now with the sexy new handy man that has invaded her space , a new best friend that is more then she seems . Will Jenny be able to forgive herself or will all be lost on Christmas eve . Will her past destroy her future .

This story has a Christmas Carol vibe to it . The characters are well written and you will love them. Jenny is a woman who has been hurt and is grieving for 3 years , you really just want to hug her but like all things in a good heroine she is stronger then she seems. She is a fighter but sometimes she is confused on what and who she is fighting for . Jack well he is the handy man and boy what a handyman he is . He is tall, dark and oh so handsome and very in tuned with Jenny .  He is also hiding a secret but its a good secret that helps save Jenny in the end .  Tess is a sweetheart and you will love her once you meet her . ITS FUN AND FRIDAY

Good morning all its Friday and I have a fun read for you today . Its the second book in the Lucy Westenra series . Here is  GALLANT GHOST AND GHASTLY GENTLEMEN  by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain .

                             BOOK BLURB

So, that saying that goes: ‘when it rains, it pours’… yeah, it’s pretty much spot on. Not that I ever really had good luck, but I’m not sure how much worse my luck could get…

For the first time in a really looooong time, I’ve got a boyfriend—Dr. Henry Jekyll. And he’s everything you’d want a boyfriend to be—charming, sweet, loyal. Only problem is, I can’t be left alone with him.

Yeah, you heard that right. Ever since I agreed to becoming a full-time employee of the Holmwood Association (that apprehends monsters), I’m being kept under lock and key. If I’m allowed outside the compound, it has to be with a chaperone—all owing to the fact that I’m half-vampire.

But here’s the part where my luck takes a serious plunge… while on a date with Henry (and Simone—our chaperone), I notice a shadow lurking just outside the opera house. Thinking it’s none other than the bane of my existence—Dracula, himself—I follow it. And I nearly get killed by a collapsing parapet of bricks.

That’s when I realize this isn’t the work of Dracula, because Vlad would never kill me—not when he wants me to return to him forever (ahem, over my undead body).

Meanwhile, numerous people around Sacramento are spontaneously combusting and the finger seems to be pointing at Morfran—a demon who grants favors. Yet, when I start to investigate, I realize Morfran is involved, yes, but only in so much as he’s being targeted. Also targeted are all his clients who bear his mark… and guess who’s included in that esteemed crowd?

Yep, you guessed it.

Now, I’ve got to hurry up and figure out whodunit before I become another spontaneously combusting victim.

                      MY REVIEW
Lucy well she is having a time she is basically under lockdown and she finally has a boyfriend .    Dr. Henry Jekyll and she can't even see him . While she is trying to see her man there are people spontaneously combusting all over town. People are pointing at Morfran  a demon who grants favors .  Will Lucy find out who is responsible for all this or will she be the next one to self combust .

Well what has Lucy gotten herself into this book . She is trying her damnest to have normal life. She is fighting to have a normal life . I love her she is such a strong woman and is trying to live a normal life . Her vampire side is fighting to come out and is playing havoc especially when Vlad Dracula is around . She is strong willed and determined to figure everything out .  I love this character and her counter parts.

This writing duo is amazing as a writing team each author brings a great addition to the story .They have such great ideas on how to bring the characters alive . This book is a fun read that will keep you entertained . The story moves fast and you will get caught up in the characters . This is the second book in the series and the characters are getting more and more complex  Check out the series and be prepared for a fast paced fun filled read .  So if you want a fun filled read check them out .
