TODAY WE STARVE

Good Sunday all , today we are going to review a new graphic novel, Starve by Brian Woods

                               BOOK BLURB

Once the world's most famous chef, Gavin Cruikshank's been in a self-imposed exile for years. His little foodie television program has since evolved into STARVE, an arena sport that pits chef against chef for the pleasure of their super-rich patrons. It's a stain on a once-noble profession, and Chef Gavin is ready to go to war to stop it. Two things stand in his way: his arch rival Roman Algiers, and his adult daughter Angie, who probably just wants her dad back and acting normal.

                                    MY REVIEW
Starve is the combination between a reality cooking show and all out arena war fare . Meet Gavin Cruikshank a world famous chef in exile . He is dragged back to his show, which has turned into a sport . Where he is pitted against other chefs to one up each other . Will they survive and will his daughter get her dad back.
I was really surprised that I like this books as much as I did. It is really dark and brooding . There is a lot of internal dialogue from the main character . The grittiness of the illustrations and the story will take you to a place in the near future where the lines between rich and poor is very visible . The artwork works so well with the story line. Some people may not like it but I thought it went well . The story also entwines the lives of Gavin, his ex wife and their daughter . Also Gavin's arch rival and chef Roman Algers .  They all seem to pull him in all different ways . There is only one thing that kind of bothered me . The clinginess of his daughter , she didn't see him for a long time , why was she so clingy.
Over all I really liked this graphic novel and can't wait to see what happens in the arena. The characters are dark and the story line is gritty . So it isn't for those who like happy go lucky stories . This one will leave you slightly shaken but wanting more .

ITS SIN AND SUFFER DAY TODAY

Welcome to Friday all , I can't believe it is the end of January all ready. Today we are going to review SIN & SUFFER ( PURE CORRUPTION book 2) by Pepper Winters.

                           BOOK BLURB

"Some say the past is in the past. That vengeance will hurt both innocent and guilty. I never believed those lies. Once my lust for revenge is sated, I'll say goodbye to hatred. I'll find a new beginning."

SIN & SUFFER

She came from a past Arthur "Kill" Killian never forgot. She made him sin and made him suffer. She tugged him from the shadows and showed him he wasn't as dead as he thought. And with her resurrection came betrayal, deceit, and war.

But then they took her. Stole her. Imprisoned her.

Now Kill's carefully laid plans for vengeance are complete. He craves action, retribution-the blood of his enemies. War has begun. War is all they'll know until they've paid their penance. He will get her back-and rewrite their destiny . . .

                            MY REVIEW
This is a hard review for me to write because I love the author and loved her other books to death. But I am confused on my feeling for this book.  I read Ruin & Rule and liked it and really wanted to read Sin & Suffer to find out what damage Kill was going to do and if he was going to save Cleo.
Will they survive .
I wanted to love this book but I just couldn't , the characters to me seemed off , I was expecting lots of tension and hot sex but I just didn't get it in this book . The characters just seemed a bit off to me and I just couldn't really get into the story line. Cleo being taken by Rubix  , to what end was that for . I honestly thought that the Rubix/ Cleo story line would of gone on longer . I didn't get that part of it . I understood to drive Kill crazy but I wish it would of lasted longer . It would of added another dimension to the story line . I did feel like the book was drug out , the first part just seemed so long and the second part of the book had me confused oh so confused .
I did like Kill an Cleo together but their sex was kind of boring to me. I know its a book but it just seemed like blah. The relationship was good but they both seemed to be childish at times . They argued as much as they had sex lol. and was a lot . I think they would of been a very hot couple if they had just been a little tougher . Cleo needed to be let in on things , so she didn't have that doe in the headlights look whenever Kill was talking. I kind of wanted to slap her a couple of times and tell her to grow up.  Kill needed to be more alpha especially when it came to protecting Cleo . Would of love to  see more of him and his dad, watching him kick his ass. The other characters were good and helped out but some were confusing as well.
Over all I did like the book, it brought Kill and Cleo's story to an happily ever after . The author did a good job wrapping it up nicely . I just wish there was more to the story . I love this author and I  am glad I read to find out if they survived .  I just wish that I could love it .

Good Thursday everyone

Good Thursday everyone, hope everyone is thawing out or if you are still snowed in. I have the book for you .  It will melt the deepest snow banks , SIREN FOR THE BEAR, by Meredith Clarke.

                           BOOK BLURB

Carson Grant sings for her supper. Between her covers and her weekend gigs, she’s been making it well enough as an indie singer.
Until she lands a job she can’t say no to.

Marek Sarkozy knew, the moment he saw his Siren, that she was the one for him. Now, he’ll do whatever it takes to make her his, even if his heart ignores his reality.

The Sarkozy men hid a secret as old as their ancestors. Their bear shifter genes are slowly dying out. But Marek doesn’t care if he is the last of his line. Not as long as he can have Carson.

But will the danger to his clan outweigh the strength of his devotion to his chosen mate?

*Standalone Bear Shifter Romance*

                       MY REVIEW
Siren For The Bear is the first book in the new bear shifter series by Meredith Clarke . This is a short novella in which we meet Carson an indie singer and Marek Sarkozy the hot sexy bear shift and in a band. They meet one night when Marek is checking her set at a local club.  They are drawn to each other and are attracted to each other . But will they survive the people hunting Marek and will Carson survive the truth.
There is a lot packed into this 121 page novella, the author combines mystery and romance quite well . We also have the band full of sexy ass bear shifters , one cuter then the next . Marek is one hot sexy alpha man, who is the last of his line and the leader . He is dodging bullets and romancing the sweet Carson. Who is a very strong willed mortal, who wants what she wants . They do have a rocky road at first but they soon realize there is more going on . They know they need and want each other .
Marek knows she is his mate and will do everything even let her go to keep her safe .
I really liked these two characters , Carson is so with it and knows what she wants . She has a brain and isn't really stick thin. She is curvy and with it , that is something I like very much. Marek just oozes sex and is such a complex man . He is so well man . You have to read the book don't want to give away too much . But some scenes will melt your kindle, the recording booth for one.
I really enjoyed this book there are a lot of loose ends that will all come together in the other books in the series . I want to know more about the curse and if it can be broken. Also more about the history of the bear shifters. It is a really quick read and you will have it done in an evening . You will love the heat between the main characters , you will need a fan to cool off with.  I can't wait to see more from this author. So if you want a good start to a series, check it out .

WELCOME TO WINTERS WRATH

Welcome to hump day Wednesday . Today we have a great rocker book . BACKLASH (WINTER.'S WRATH book 1) by Bianca Sommerland

                           BOOK BLURB

Outcasts, black sheep, those who never fit in anywhere. Winter’s Wrath belongs to them. Every single member of the band rejects the norm when it comes to music.

They won’t settle when it comes to love.

Alder Trousseau, the lead guitarist in a band that owns his heart and soul, has always stood in the shadow of a man he hates. Braver “Brave” Trousseau, the voice of Winter’s Wrath.

For the success of the band, they have to work past their animosity, but that’s difficult when they have the same taste in women. And men.

Sex is a game to Brave. A game that might leave the people Alder cares for completely broken. Unless he claims them for his own.

If he steps out of the shadows, he’ll have no choice to play. To win.

On stage, the drama drives the fans insane. The songs they sing are a blood racing, body moving, war cry. But the very real battle taking place between the snares and the mic might tear the band apart.

                         MY REVIEW
First things first why oh why can't I ever find hot long haired, sexy as sin men in the cookie aisle of my favorite grocery store . Bianca can sure make shopping for groceries fun and well hot .
I have to admit I got sucked into this story from the second page . The author has a unique way of writing that will suck you in and keep you turning pages all night long. The story is based on the band Winter's Wrath on stage they command the attention of everyone but off the stage they are as tight as anyone can be . But as you read you find out more about the band and the secrets hidden and the quilt that everyone is carrying around.
I have fallen in love with the characters in the band . Alder is the reluctant leader of the band keeping everyone safe and under control. But he is lonely, knowing he wants someone but he is in love with someone else. You see him as well some would call a doormat to his brother Brave . Brave is so arrogant and selfish. You really want to kick his ass around the bus a few times . When Adler finds Danica things start to change and we see Adler grow up and start becoming the man the band needs to get them through all the chaos. Brave is the arrogant one and so selfish , he treats everyone like shit and does what ever he wants . The typical bad boy of rock and roll , until you start reading into his character and you find him to be a small scared little boy , with the weight of the world on his shoulders . You actually start to see him grow up and be the hot sexy man you want him to be . Danica to me seemed a little naïve at the beginning . She did everything for her career and seemed like a puppet to her manager. As she hung around with the guys you see her get a back bone and stand up for herself . You also see her taking on the mother role for the young drummer Tate. They have the cutest relationship, like brother and sister sometimes . The rest of the guys in the band are such a mixture , you know you will fall in love with at least one or two of them and they may break your heart in the process .
I have read a lot of rocker books and they fade in the light of this book. The author adds her own twist on the story making it stand out . The added mystery of what happened to Adler's and Braves older brother and the mystery that surrounds the stalker just ups the ante on this story . There is plenty of sex also , m/m, m/f/m and m/f going on .  It will make you kindle melt and make you warm in all the right spots . You will laugh , Tate's cookie addiction , and cry when everything comes to light . I will admit I did have a good cry . If that isn't enough to keep you reading , the twists and turns will . So if you want a great book with hot Alpha men and lots of good rock . Check it out , you will love it

WELCOME TO MONDAY

Welcome to Monday, hope you are all ok and are digging out from any snow you got. Today we are going to review A RAVEN'S TOUCH by Linda Bloodworth

                            BOOK BLURB

Bullied through high school, seventeen-year-old Justice St. Michaels is grateful for the help of her best friend Moira O’Fhey. Their only wish is to graduate high school, leave the sleepy town of Fallingbrook and all that happened behind them. The Heavens have other plans. Between growths on her back and being involved in explosive school fights, nothing seems to make sense. When an unexpected encounter with Darien Raventhorn causes worlds to collide it exposes the truth about Justice’s real identity. To avenge a family death, Justice must embrace her birthright, and slay a demon before all Hell breaks loose.

                           MY REVIEW
This is the debut novel for Linda Bloodworth and she did it up right . There are angels, demons . witches . fairies not to mention a dragon or two. Let me introduce to Justice and her best friend Moray . All they want to do is finish high school with out getting bullied anymore and start a new life away from Fallingbrook. But there is more to both Justice and Mora, and that one fateful day will change their lives forever. They find their real identities and now the war has started and they need to embrace their birth rights and save the world.
I loved the characters in the book. Justice is a sweet everyday girl who just wants to finish high school. You can't help but fall in love with her , the things she goes through would kill most people but she is stronger then most. As she comes to terms with happened to her parents . She has to handle the evil that is coming  You see her struggling to come to terms with everything . Mora is her best friend and my favorite character , she is feisty and straight forward . She is one kick ass little witch that is shy in one way but kick ass the next . The rest of the characters are very well written and are all there to help keep Justice safe and secure . Darien Raventhorn is a very mysterious character . He is a vampire and is drawn to Justice . You don't know if he is actually good or bad. Training her for the epic battle between good and evil .

I really liked this book , I got it and couldn't put it down . The story will suck you in cause you want to find out what Justice is and who is Darien Raventhorn, a vampire that is drawn to her. The story takes you on a ride from the very first page .  Trust me you will shed a tear and have so many omg moments . You will want to throw you kindles but I suggest you don't , kindles are expensive.
There are twists and turns and you will love the feel of the book its builds and builds . The characters slowly reveal themselves to us . You will not get bored reading this book . If you want a good book check it out .

ZOMBIE SATURDAY

Good Saturday morning my lovelies,  I know most of you are under snowmageddion and need something to read . So I am going to give you something different to read . Welcome to HELLSPAWN by Ricky Fleet .

                            BOOK BLURB

10.35 AM, September 14th 2015. Portsmouth, England.
A global particle physics experiment releases a pulse of unknown energy with catastrophic results. Scientists in their laboratories search desperately for a solution to the broken fabric of existence, but they are already too late, the sanctity of the grave has been sundered.
There is no virus or bacteria to combat, just chaos and horror as a million graveyards expel their tenants from eternal slumber. The world is unaware of the impending apocalypse, realisation only dawns with the appearance of the mouldering corpses who devour everything they encounter. Governments crumble and armies are scattered to the wind.
Kurt Taylor, a self-employed plumber, witnesses the start of the horrifying outbreak. Desperate to reach his family before they fall victim to the ever growing horde of shambling corruption, he flees the scene, watching the unfolding cannibalism and destruction in his rear view mirror.
In a society with few guns, how can people hope to survive the endless waves of zombies that seek to consume every living thing? With ingenuity, planning and everyday materials, the group forge their way and strike back at the Hellspawn legions. Rescues are mounted, but not all survivors are benevolent. The evil that is in all men has been given free rein in this new, dead world. With both the living and dead to contend with, is there any hope for the Taylor family?

                                 MY REVIEW
The first I heard of this book from a good friend of mine. She told me I had to read, so I did . Boy I was glad I listened to her . I couldn't put this book down . It is such a good twist on the zombie tale . Showing us how the beginning of the apocalypse and how one family stayed alive .
The author has taken the zombie apocalypse  and put a fresh twist on it .  He took a day in the lives of one family and basically put them through hell as they try and stay alive . But guess what all the evil things in this world aren't the undead, there are people that are still alive that are wanting to hurt them. I couldn't believe some of the things this poor family went through, the perils are great and the tension is so thick . You want them to survive so much , you are cheering for them with every thing they defeat .
The characters are so complex and so flawed at the same time . There is a story within the story of here . What would you do if you were trapped in the apocalypse with your school bully? What would you do when you have some father / son unresolved emotions that are simmering at the surface? What would you do when you feel utter despair when you have to keep your family safe and alive? These questions are all answered with these characters. Kurt is your everyday man, who works hard for a living . When he has to keep his family safe, you see him take control and help everyone one out. I have to say my all time favorite character is Mrs. Humes , she is one gutsy lady and the way she handles herself is what I want when I grow up. She also adds a bit of comic relief when things are getting way to tense. She is a sweet character that I hope and pray makes it all the way through.
This book had me screaming one moment then bawling my eyes out in the next . There is one part in the book that I could hardly read because the tears were streaming down my face. It was so sad all I could do was ugly cry. I was sitting on the edge of my chair most of the time and the other times I had the blanket pulled over my head. I cheered with every inventive way they came up with to kill the masses . Some of them were very ingenious and who knew that a table and nails would be such a good tool. The sign of a great book is how many emotions that a person goes through when reading . Mr. Fleet brought out those emotions with great ease. You are taken on a ride with so many twists and turns.  Ultimately this a story of survival and one family's love for each other and what they would do to be safe . I can't wait till book two . So if you want a fresh twist on the start of the zombie apocalypse and one family's survival . Check it out you won't be disappointed .

ITS MOON SHADOW FRIDAY

Good Friday all , today is a great day for me, besides its warming up outside . I got to read an advanced copy of the newest book by one of my favorite authors . I have read every one of his books and was so glad to read is newest book in the Samantha Moon series. MOON SHADOW ( Vampire for Hire book 11) by J.R Rain

                            BOOK BLURB

Ten years ago, federal agent Samantha Moon was the perfect wife and mother, a typical soccer mom with a minivan and suburban home. Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire.

There’s something in the water. Something evil…

Now in MOON SHADOW (Vampire for Hire Book 11), private investigator Samantha Moon is hired to track down a purported lake monster that could wreak havoc on a tourism business. When Sam delves into the creature sightings that have spooked Lake Elsinore residents, she crosses paths with the case of two missing boys.

The police are stumped, and Sam and her werewolf lawyer boyfriend, Kingsley, team up to investigate both cases. And what lies beneath the surface of the lake is just the beginning for the paranormal abomination that has taken over Lake Elsinore. This is no legendary monster. Its diabolical evil spans centuries and even worlds—and it sets its sights on Sam’s loved ones...

As Sam and Kingsley pursue the truth, time is running out for the missing boys—and for someone she loves. Will Samantha Moon have to choose between them?

                             MY REVIEW
Welcome to the world of Samantha Moon, mother ,girlfriend , private detective and vampire
In this installment of the series . Samantha is hired to find some missing boys at Lake Elsinore.
She also has to keep her daughter safe and keep a premonition from coming true . All in a days work for a mom . Will she have to choose only she knows.
I must say I was so excited when I got this book . I basically read the day away . I love how even after 11 books J.R can still take Samantha and the rest of the characters and keep the fresh . You see everyone growing up and taking on so much more . Samantha has grown and kept her new powers in check , even keeping Dracula in line . She is still your typical mom but we see her break down when it comes to her daughter. The kids are growing and becoming more and more powerful in their own right . Even Kingsley seems larger then life and loving life with Samantha.  You can't but fall in love with these characters . They are so complex but also feel like they could be your sister or best friend .
This book has everything a good book junkie could ever ask for . We have mystery , danger and even a little splattering of romance all rolled into a great story. To add to the mix we also have vampires, werewolves , dragons and even some creepy monsters .  This is a fun read , it seemed like I was giggling and laughing hard all the way through, it had me snorting half way through. You may laugh but this author isn't scared to tackle the topics of the day either . There is a very sweet scene between Samantha and her daughter that will make you want to hug your mom .  I can't stop talking about this book. I love this series so much . If you want a great series that will make you giggle and take you away for a few hours . Check out the SAMANTHA MOO series . You will not be disappointed .

WELCOME TO THURSDAY EVERYONE

Welcome to Thursday all , hope you are all staying safe and warm . Need a book to pass the time while you wait out the storm.  FRACTURED STEEL  by TJ Loveless

                           BOOK BLURB

Karen Barnes’s life is simple, just the way she likes it, surrounded by horses and the mountains of Laramie, Wyoming. She is well aware the longing for adventure can lead to blood and death, a hard lesson taught during her one, and only, tour in Iraq almost a decade ago.

A stranger approaches Karen about boarding a famous horse foaled in her stables, making her instincts go on high alert. She knows for a fact the stallion’s owner would never sell Five Alarm, the US Reining champion worth a hefty ten million dollars. In ten minutes the stranger confirms her worst fears, launching her into weeks of torment at the hands of her kidnappers.

Armed with a spine of steel, she escapes, but the ordeal is far from over. It was a cover up for espionage. Trusted contacts join the fray, and in the end, pay for their loyalty by dying for her safety. Others aren’t so trustworthy, and as the truth is brought to light, she is betrayed yet again.

Safety and freedom come with their own emotional shackles. She had the courage to fight the battle, but can she live with the aftermath of the carnage, or survive the fractures to her mind?

                                          MY REVIEW
This book is packed with so much emotion,  Let me introduce you to Karen a horse trainer with a past . She lives in solitude with her horses and her dog . Until that fateful day when a stranger shows up and wants her to train Five Alarm a ten million dollar reining champion. He wont take no for an answer and Karen is put through weeks of hell. Bringing back the horrors of what went on in Afghanistan.  She survives but is still in mortal danger .  She and Five Alarm are put through hell , will they survive.
This book had me from the very first page, horses and reining had me sucked in. Karen and what she was going through sucked me in even deeper. The characters are so well written you feel like you are going through every horrible thing along with Karen . She is such a strong character but the tragedy and the hells she has gone through.  She is suffering from PTSD and we watch her work through them . With everything that she had gone through. We see  her grow stronger as she comes out the other side.  She becomes the woman that is strong and healing. Five alarm is his own character , he is one tough horse. He goes through hell and back and still survives to come back with Karen.  Aiden is the man that is there to protect her and help her through her attacks . He knows all about the dreams and the panic attacks . He helps her become strong again and they have such a tight bond that will never break.
I have never actually read a book where the main character is suffering from PTSD . Actually I hae never met anyone with PTSD either . So I must admit that I was intrigued by the character and the story line . I will tell you I ugly cried through out this book, I cried for Karen , I cried for Five Alarm and I cried for Aiden.  There are scenes that may be to hard for some people to read but you will want to actually want to kill a few people as you read .  The author did a very good job in the depiction of the characters and the suffering they went through . I give her kudos for tackling such a topic that no one really talks about . The story is fictional but the pain is all to real .
So if you want a great book full of mystery, intrigue , this is the book for you . The author takes us to the pits of hell and brought out the other side . Stronger and more alive as you see the strength of each individual in the book . I read this book in a day , I couldn't put it down and I wanted to know what was happening and how everyone was doing . I will say this again you will ugly cry , but you will also cheer and smile . So if horses mystery and espionage  have you interested check it out . Oh and I promise there is a hot guy or two in there too .

Something Darker (Inferi Dii Book 1)

When Dezi North walks into a metaphysical shop to find his date murdered, he doesn’t expect to find his Keeper standing there, asking him questions about his alibi. But the woman before him is everything he’s always secretly wanted and nothing he expected to find.

Struck with the realization that monsters are real, and so are gods, can she come to grips with this new information, and accept that not only is she now a part of the madness, but the man she’s not so sure about is the key to her heart’s desire?

GOOD SATURDAY ALL

Good Saturday all , seeing as it is frigid cold out side today, a good day for reading . I thought I would review a book that I couldn't wait to read HISTORY MAJOR , by Michael Phillip Cash

An ominous shadow is stalking her. Uncomfortable memories are bubbling dangerously close to her fracturing world, propelling her to an inevitable collision between fantasy and reality. Is this the mother of all hangovers or is something bigger happening?

                            MY REVIEW
Michael Phillip Cash has hit it out of the ball park again. His newest novella had me sucked in from the very first page . In this novella we meet Amanda Greene , a college freshman who after a night of heavy partying ends up waking up and finding out things aren't quite right . She can't put her finger on it but there is something wrong. She is trying to figure it all out but will she survive it
In this novella Michael wove significant points in history with the elements of the world today. The characters are complex and flawed at the same time . Amanda is your typical college freshman who is like every teenager . She has her problems but when she is thrown into a class that she didn't take she works hard on trying to figure everything out . You see you go from brat to a fighter and you see her grow up as hard things from her past come back . All the supporting characters play a big part on how Amanda grows .
This book will make you think and have you trying to figure out what the heck is happening with Amanda. I read this book in an evening, I was completely drawn into this book . The story just sucked me in. I have read all of Michael's books and I find that this is his most thought provoking book. The twists and turns will keep you reading all night long. Trust me on that one , his books are so perfect , spooking in one spot and heart racing in another . You will be on the edge of your seat the whole time . The twist at the end will make you go WTH an OMG . I absolutely loved this book . So if you want an intelligent ghost story , this is the book for you

Good Thursday all today we are going to review a book that every teen ager . parent and teacher should read HELP ME by Donna M Zadunajsky

                        BOOK BLURB
A novella about a boy named Mick and his struggles with life. His parent’s divorce and a friend’s suicide make his world unbearable. Each “cut” has a deeper meaning. A cry for help.
“I spin my dad’s Ruger SP101 revolver on the wood floor of my bedroom. Sometimes, just to see what it feels like, I place the tip of the gun against my temple, but I never once pull the trigger. NO!”
“I’m more into the slice of the blade against my skin and the blood running down my arm.”
“It relieves so much pressure.”
“And I can breathe again…”
                                   MY REVIEW
I was blown away when I started reading this novella . It is a story of Mick who is dealing with depression.  He has been through a lot in his young life . his parents divorcing and then the death of his best friends suicide . He was also being bullied and his life was unbearable .
No one knows what he is going through and the only release is cutting . No one is knowing what is going on except his friends who think but have their own problems that they have to deal with .
This maybe a fictitious book with fictitious characters but the pain is real. For all those people that suffer from depression and bullying feel lost and have no way out . This has been hidden away in the darkness for way too long . It is time to bring it out and start talking about it . The taboo of depression needs to have the lid blown off and no one should hide anymore . This book makes you think about what if it was you , what would you do ? Would you be able to spot it in one of your loved ones ?
The characters in this book absolutely broke my heart . Mick just broke my heart. you just wanted to hold him in your arms and tell him life will get better . His group of friends are your typical teenagers with their own problems . They are all having their own problems and they band together like teenagers do by snap chat face time and so on.  They have your resident bad girl , the sweet girl and the guy friend that love to hang . Layla is the sweet girl that helps Mick and actually likes him a lot . She is such a sweet girl with her own bouts also . Together they will help each other and try and figure everything out
I cried so hard reading this novella , I wanted to scream at them and say it will get better . We need to advocate for all children that have been bullied . We honestly need to blow the lid off it . Teachers need to step up , family members to step up to protect children. This book needs to be read . I personally want to thank Donna for writing this book and helping to get the word out there. Please get this book for you and your children . It is well worth the read

GOOD MONDAY ALL

Good Monday all , its frigid on the ranch today so its a great day to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea. Todays book is THE DIRT ON THE NINTH GRAVE ( Charley Davidson book 9) by Dayrnda Jones

                              BOOK BLURB
In a small village in New York lives Jane Doe, a girl with no memory of who she is or where she came from. So when she is working at a diner and slowly begins to realize she can see dead people, she's more than a little taken aback. Stranger still are the people entering her life. They seem to know things about her. Things they hide with lies and half-truths. Soon, she senses something far darker. A force that wants to cause her harm, she is sure of it. Her saving grace comes in the form of a new friend she feels she can confide in and the fry cook, a devastatingly handsome man whose smile is breathtaking and touch is scalding. He stays close, and she almost feels safe with him around.
But no one can outrun their past, and the more lies that swirl around her-even from her new and trusted friends-the more disoriented she becomes, until she is confronted by a man who claims to have been sent to kill her. Sent by the darkest force in the universe. A force that absolutely will not stop until she is dead. Thankfully, she has a Rottweiler. But that doesn't help in her quest to find her identity and recover what she's lost. That will take all her courage and a touch of the power she feels flowing like electricity through her veins. She almost feels sorry for him. The devil in blue jeans. The disarming fry cook who lies with every breath he takes. She will get to the bottom of what he knows if it kills her. Or him. Either way.

                          MY REVIEW
I was kind of conflicted with this book . I love Charley and her kick ass attitude towards life . She is one tough cookie , so to see her break apart at the end of book 8 was so sad . When I picked up book nine and started reading . I could see the old gang there in her new life trying so hard to keep her safe. Uncle Bob , Cookie , Swopes an the sinfully handsome Reyes are all there to watch over her . As she starts to come around we see the Charley we all know and love start emerge again. Which I was so thankful for.  The characters have never been better but sometimes they just seemed a little off . Trying to remember too much info as they were talking to Jane aka Charley.
Over all I really liked this installment the humor alone had me turning pages well into the night .  I have never laughed so hard in my life. The scenes with Cookie and Charley are hilarious . Cookie a waitress she is not and the espresso machine is her enemy. Well Cookie handling food is just worth reading the book . There was also some really great heart between Reyes and Charley. Which in my opinion could melt your kindle with each turn of the page . Honestly who knew that kitchen diner sex would be so hot.  The author did a good job with the amnesia aspect of Charley's story , but there was a couple of places where the character names got mixed up and Cookie called Jane , Charley when she was talking to Jane. Other then that the book is well written and will have you reading all night long .  We get to see everyone in a different setting and we get to see Charley fall in love again.
So if you want a good book to curl up with Check it out . Actually check out the whole series , you will not be disappointed

NEW YEAR AND NEW POSTS

Now that we are seven days into the new year, I have decided that I am going to change things up a bit. I am a graphic novel junkie and have been reading them for a couple of years now. I have realized that no one does blog reviews on them . Well I am going to change that this year. I am going to do a blog review on my favorite graphic novels twice a month. So in keeping with my new year's resolution I bring you my first graphic novel review . HOWARD THE DUCK( what the duck) by Chip Zdarsky and illustrator John Quinnos

                            BOOK BLURB
Collects Howard the Duck (2015) #1-5.

Howard the Duck is back! Join the foul-mouthed fowl, trapped in a world he never made (but has grown accustomed to) as he takes on weird cases that only a talking duck can crack — as the Marvel Universe’s resident private investigator! Howard’s first case begins with the Black Cat but soon goes cosmic, landing him in the Collector’s clutches! But he’s not alone — Rocket Raccoon is a prisoner, as well! Can these two anthropomorphic animals turn the tables and break free? Well, yeah. Plus: Howard investigates a a senior citizens crime spree, teams up with Doctor Strange for some magical antics and learns a lot about new friend Tara Tam, because communication is key. Plus: a SECRET WARS tie-in! Sort of.

                           MY REVIEW
I got this novel for a Christmas from a good friend of mine , I actually didn't even realize that they kept Howard going in graphic novel form . I was so surprised and happy .  Howard was first introduced in 1973 and he became a loud mouth crazy duck , getting into all sorts of trouble. In this remaking of Howard , Marvel has revamped his series. We find him in his own world, that he must make his own . Taking help from some great Marvel characters along the way . This book actually encompasses 1-5 of the series .
I absolutely love Howard in this book , he is the foul mouthed kick ass duck that I remember him as . He and his human traverses the marvel universe to get back a necklace . Where they meet everyone from Spiderman , rocky and the gang from guardians of the galaxy to the fantastic four with comical outcomes . The author makes the characters comes alive .
Over all I loved this book and it is pure fun to read . If you are looking for a epic story , this is not the graphic novel for you . If you campiness and a cool fun read this is the book for you. This is a purely entertaining book . If you are looking for something to break up all the heavy graphic novels . This is the one for you . Come back and get reacquainted with the foul mouth alien duck that has stolen your heart . And I know you are singing the song from the movie .

Welcome to Hump Day

Good Wednesday all , happy hump day . Today I have a very juicy book for you today . DARK AND STORMY KNIGHT( KNIGHTS OF AVALON BOOK 2) by Nina Mason

                            BOOK BLURB

She’ll risk everything for their love—even her life.
Aspiring screenwriter Gwyn Morland is ready for her big break. That means securing the film rights to elusive author Lady Ruthven’s acclaimed novel—which means traveling to Scotland. It’s a trip timid Gwyn isn’t prepared for, and her fears seem justified when her tour bus careens over a cliff outside of Castle Glenarvon. But the plot thickens when Gwyn is rescued from the brink of death by a handsome and mysterious stranger…

Leith MacQuill is not only the writer behind Lady Ruthven’s novel, but a shape-shifting faery knight bearing a tragic curse: the woman he gives his heart to will die. Saving Gwyn proves to be a dangerous choice when he finds himself falling for her the longer she stays in the castle. Not even his usual BDSM role-playing games are enough to thwart the intense desire they feel for each other. But to stay together, Gwyn and Leith must embark on a dangerous mission into Avalon, the realm of the faeries. Will their love be strong enough to conquer the curse? Or will Gwyn’s new life be stolen from her before it’s even begun?

                            MY REVIEW
This is the second book in the Knights of Avalon series and I was so excited when it came out . This series is such a great mixture of history, magic . BDSM folklore and a love that defies all .  They are all blended into a story that will make you weak in the knees and shed a tear or two as you read .
Gwyn the young heroine of our story , an aspiring screenwriter , has been a mouse of a person her whole life. She has had a history of abuse and neglect her whole life . So to make a change in her life, she heads to Scotland to sure up the movie rights from an elusive author . But what she doesn't know is that circumstances will throw her into the arms of the man of her dreams . Enter Leith Macquill the knight who has been a recluse since escaping Avalon. An reclusive author that hates tourists, but when he finds Gwyn things seem to change . The more time they spend time together the more they fall in love against what he knows . They find their way towards each other and start to fall in love . They have to fight the forces of Avalon to be together.  I loved these characters , they started off so
different . Gwyn was such a sweet almost naïve girl that as you turned the pages , you see her growing and becoming so kick ass and will do anything to get the man of her dreams . Leith to me came off as an arrogant man at the beginning of the book. Until you start to really get into his story. To me he was a hurt and broken man that just wanted to love but couldn't . He wanted love and you can see him falling for Gwyn even though he tries so hard not to.
The author has done a great job mixing the history and the present together . She takes on a journey that is both harrowing and whimsical in some aspects . I like the fact there are two aspects to this story the first part is all sex and more sex. The second part of the book is all about the quest to break the curse . I loved the hot steamy sex between these two Leith is one hot yummy man who oozes sex . In the second part we see the couple work as a team and the love they share . Both parts are so well written and you will be turning pages well into the night . These can be read alone books but should be read in order cause characters from book one show up in book two. There is BDSM  in this book and for mature readers . So if you want a intelligent read with hot sex and romance check it out .

WELCOME TO 2016

Welcome to a brand new year and a brand new reading challenge . Starting the new year off with a bang and going to review three novels by the same author . They are all part of a series, so I decided to do all three in one blog. Let me introduce you all to Red , Snow and Goldie  by Jessica Aspen

                          BOOK BLURB
When Red packs her goodies to Grandma’s house she gets more than she bargains for seducing the new forest ranger, Evan Brewster.

But her new romance with Evan puts the pack in danger of discovery and she’s forced to make a choice.
Evan is stoked when he meets the petite red haired hottie and combined with his new discovery of wolves in Colorado, thinks his career and life are made. Then Red pushes him away, her hostile brother threatens his life, and things begin to spiral out of control.
Caught between her sexy lover and her pack can Red trust Evan with her secrets? Or must she sacrifice her human lover—and her heart?

Lions and wolves and bears, oh my.

                                          MY REVIEW
This is a great twist on the fairy tale of LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD .  Let me introduce you to Red a young wolf shifter, who has been sheltered in her pack. She  wants more but can't escape the small town. Enter Evan a gorgeous park ranger sent to look after the park where the wolves run . He runs into Red and is knocked back by her beauty . She tries to dissuade him but deep inside they can't stay away from each other. Will they survive each other and will they survive the person trying to kill Evan . Will he keep her secrets .
I love the twist on this fairy tale . The author takes us on a fast paced ride with lots of twists and turns . This isn't your average run of the mill erotic retelling of Little Red Riding hood . The characters are well written and complex. You can see them struggling with what they know and feel . Red is the girl who wants more out of life then just to find a mate . She wants to go to college and wants to take a bite out of life . Evan is such a sweet character , he takes life as it comes . He is smart sexy and that is a deadly combination. Boy are they hot when they get together, your kindle will get warm when you are reading .
I read this book in an evening , I couldn't put the book down . I wanted to know what would happen and if they got together . I love this author's way of writing , she pulls you in and keeps you hooked until the very last page . So if you want a great read on a cold winter evening check out Red

Lions and wolves and bears, oh my.

                MY REVIEW

In book two we are introduced to Seth, Reds brother , who has a real hate of for humans. Until the day that Snow literally falls into his life, he saves her from freezing to death in a storm.  Then his world is turned upside down  and Snow is the reason. He struggles with the fact that he wants her an realizes a few things about humans . But he needs to get over a lot before he can save Snow and himself.
Again the author twists this fairy tale and makes you want to cheer for the characters and then turn around want to slap a few of them upside the head. Seth is that character , I really kind of disliked him in the first book. I thought of him as very arrogant and self righteous . But he actually redeems himself in his book. You see deeper into him and you can see him struggle and hurt like any normal person would . He also grows up in this book and realizes that there is more then pack in the world . Snow to me at first came of as a spoiled brat, but as the author opens up and lets us in on her life. We see  Snow as a young girl that has been hurt over and over . She has been brainwashed into thinking all others wanted from her is sex . As you see Seth and Snow grow up and realize that they are more then what others deem them as. They become the perfect team and the perfect mates . The other men in the book are all part of the pack and well help slap some sense into Seth. I think Aiden is my favorite. He needs his own book . Just a hint lol
The twists and turns in this books will keep you reading well into the night . It has everything evil step mothers , the hero who will take a bullet for the one he loves . The poor step father that will do anything to keep up the life style his aging butt thinks he deserves . Oh and there is also some pretty hot sex in the pages . That will have you feeling a little warm on a cold winter's night .

Lions and wolves and bears, oh my.
Discover why readers love the twisted world of Jessica Aspen’s Sexy Shifter Fairytale Romance.

                             MY REVIEW
The third book in the series is all about Goldie and three bears . Well Goldie is a wolf shifter, trying to keep the ranch from going under and the bear is Zeke her ex boyfriend and a bearshifter . Holding a grudge for breaking his heart. While Zeke make Goldie realize that they are perfect together . Will Goldie save the farm find her dad and get Zeke back.
I read this book awhile back and fell in love with the characters , so when I got to reread , it was like coming home. The characters in this book are complex and sometimes funny . Goldie is a tough cookie trying to keep everything going on the family ranch . She is barely hanging on by her finger tips . She doesn't want to take help from anyone, she needed to let go a bit and ask for help . She does come around to asking for help . Zeke is all male and holy moly he is hot . He can come across as arrogant at times but he has a heart of gold. He will do anything to help out Goldie.
I loved reading this story, you will laugh and actually maybe shed a tear in this book. The author takes us on quite a journey in this book. You will want to cheer for them and yes I will say it , you will want to slap a couple of characters. This book will keep you warm on a cold winters night . Who knew that bears and wolves would be such good company .

These three books were a great read and will keep you turning pages all night long. The retelling of each story is a erotic tale with action . They are great to snuggle up with on a cold night . So if you want some good stories by a really good author . Check them out . I know you will not be disappointed .

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME 2016

                      HAPPY NEW YEAR
HAPPY NEW YEAR and welcome to 2016. The  last year in books has been very interesting for me . There were books out there that when I have read them they blew my mind and I fell in love with them . Then there were the ones that left me wanting more and more . Then well we all have been there the ones that you just couldn't finish .
So here is my list of my favorite books of 2015

My first book that totally blew my mind and had me reading well all night long was
BLADE OF THE DESTROYER by Andy Peloquin.
The characters in this book are amazing and dark . This dark fantasy will keep you on your toes and will keep you reading all through the night
http://www.amazon.com/Blade-Destroyer-Last-Bucelarii-Book-ebook/dp/B012EI9M4A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451659744&sr=8-1&keywords=andy+peloquin

The next book on my list actually made me sleep with the lights on for a couple of nights. Also made me think that I really wanted a twin.
SCABS THE GEMINI EXCEPTION.
I loved this book for so many reasons . The characters were complex and well written . The author basically scared the crap out of me, which is a plus in my book. You really can't figure these creatures out but trust me you will be scared when you read about them .
http://www.amazon.com/Scabs-Gemini-Exception-Eric-Shelman-ebook/dp/B010U386G6/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1451660387&sr=1-1&keywords=eric+shelman

Now on to the novella that made me laugh and actually snort cause it so reminded me of some of my Christmas memories with my family, and all its quirks.
A FASIONABLY DEAD CHRISTMAS , A HOT DAMNED SERIES BOOK 5 by Robyn Peterman
This book had me laughing from the very first page . What does a woman/ vampire / do when its Christmas time . She plans the best Christmas ever for her and her hotter then hot vampire hubby , baby well lets say toddler . But like all family Christmas go there are always trouble but when your family lives in both heaven and hell . things are about to get dicey .
This is one laugh out loud book, that you will love to read . The characters are awesome and Satan himself will keep you in stitches when he throws a hissy fit
http://www.amazon.com/Fashionably-Dead-Christmas-Damned-Book-ebook/dp/B018YBHGA8/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1451661415&sr=1-1&keywords=robyn+Peterman

The next book on my list of my favorite books is the second book in a trilogy by an author that I really have a girl crush on . Pam Godwin takes us to the depths of Darkness in her books but does redeem them in the end . This book like all her books made me ugly cry in so many places
BLOOD OF EVE (trilogy of Eve series .) This the second book in the series . Eve is the last woman on earth because she is immune to the thing that is turning people into aphid like creatures . She has five very hot guardians that love her . These characters are so complex and so intense . You can't help but fall in love with all of them . Lets just say Pan can also write a sex scene that will melt your kindle. I was up all night with this book and I ugly cried and I mean really ugly cried in a few spots . I also laughed and lusted .
http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Eve-Trilogy-Book-ebook/dp/B017AL87Z6/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1451662164&sr=1-1&keywords=pam+godwin+kindle+books

The next book I fell in love with is from an author that gave me my very first book boyfriend .
MY SOUL TO KEEP (THE BLESSED BOOK ONE ) by Marianne Morea
Welcome to the world of Angels and demons with a very sexy twist . She takes us on a journey that will blur the lines between good and evil . There are fallen angels , demons , and angels . The journey is tough but as you read you will be cheering and there is a little sex and romance.
http://www.amazon.com/My-Soul-Keep-Blessed-Book-ebook/dp/B011FBQD62/ref=sr_1_12?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1451662777&sr=1-12&keywords=marianne+morea

This next book had me thinking as I read it . I can't believe that this was the authors first books .
A COIN FOR CHARON (A MARLOWE GENTRY NOVEL) by Dallas Mullican.
This is one intelligent crime story which is very dark and will appeal to horror fans as well . What had me with this book is the author doesn't just dive into the mind of the killer but also the minds of the people around especially the detective and the people he is after . The characters in this book are so complex  and you will want to protect them all . The lines are blurred with the killer, he doesn't think he is killing them but saving them . This is a must read book for those people who love intelligent thrillers with a touch of paranormal
http://www.amazon.com/Coin-Charon-Marlowe-Gentry-Book-ebook/dp/B0159B318W/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1451663754&sr=1-1&keywords=dallas+mullican

The next books in my list are three in a series from a great author . WELCOME TO THE ROYAL PAINS SERIES BY NINA MASON .
BOOK ONE : DEVIL IN DUKES CLOTHING
BOOK TWOL; THE DUKES BEDEVILED BRIDE
BOOK THREE: THE DEVIL'S MASQUERADE
These are some hot historical romance with a twist books . We follow the life of Maggie York and Robert Armstrong . As he first falls for her and introduces her to the more kinkier side of sex . In the second book we follow them to court and the perils of a brother that comes back to haunt Maggie as Robert is out on a mission . Will their love survive . You will have to read
In book three we jump ahead and Maggie must decide to do the unthinkable to help her husband and her child . The old adage goes never trust the Devil in disguise .
These books are more then just the romance and kinky sex. They are very intelligent books . She did great research when she wrote these books . I love the history and well kinky sex too . They are so worth the read . I read them all in like a day for each book
