Good Thursday all , one more day until the weekend is upon us. So today we  are going to review
SKELETAL by Katherine Hayton

                        BOOK BLURB
Three months before she died Daina Harrow faced a bully at school.
Six weeks before she died Daina Harrow suffered an assault in the park.
One week before she died Daina Harrow stole a secret people had killed to hide.

That was ten years ago. Ten long years.

Now, her bones have been found on a building site. A coroner's inquest has been reopened. A parade of witnesses is about to start.
And Daina's here. Watching every day as her mother cries in the courtroom. Watching every day as her friends, and her enemies, and her killers lie about her on the stand.
Watching, and making sure that no matter what the coroner hears, you know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

So help you God.

                    MY REVIEW
It took me about 5 mins to fall in love with this book. I started reading and I just couldn't  put it down. This is the first book I have read from this author and now I am going back for more. She takes us on a ride  The story is told from Daina's point of view but I am not going to tell you any more about that because I want you to discover out for yourself. This is a very relevant story that starts out with bullying and then a mobbing by school children. Daina is bullied in school then is sexually assaulted by a mob of teenagers . Which is also entwined with a subplot that has Daina becoming involved in a crime that has her stealing some documents which is found with her.
The main character Daina is a girl trying to survive with an alcoholic mother and heading to a new school yet again. She is shy but strong, when she befriends a couple of girls at her new school. She thinks things might be ok she is harassed by the mean girls and bullied big time . Her friends aren't really her friends and the mean girl is well just going to say it, She is a bitch. Then there is a twist and we meet the man in grey. Now we don't know if he is actually real or a ghost but he leads he down a trail of crime.. I really loved these characters, trust me your heart will break for Daina and what she goes through . But she comes out as a strong character that just wants to do the right thing.
The author takes us on a journey that hits some very dark places . This isn't for the faint of heart . The mobbing scene alone had me ugly crying. The sexual assault scene also made me cry.  I kind of wanted to throw my kindle across the room. I wanted to knock some heads together after that .
She also jumps from past to present in the book and that is seamlessly done . There is violence in this book but it is written with such a passion and caring. I was very impressed with this story and going to look for more books by this author. So if you like a good book written with a passion that will make you think and shed a tear or fifty . This is the book for you . So check it out

GOOD MORNING LOVELIES

Good Tuesday morning lovelies , hope your day is going well . Today we are going to review
THE THIRTEENTH TOWER by Sara C Snider.

                          BOOK BLURB
In adversity lies strength beyond imagining.

Abandoned as a baby, young Emelyn’s life as a housemaid in the quiet village of Fallow is unremarkable—and empty. That is, until a host of magical creatures arrives and inflicts terrible misdeeds on the townsfolk. Inexplicably immune to their enchantments, Emelyn joins a pair of Magi intent on stopping the cause of the trouble—and who claim to know of her parents, promising Emelyn answers to a lifetime of questions.

But the answers Emelyn seeks prove to be more elusive than she hoped, and the world outside Fallow more perilous than she imagined. Magical creatures roam the land over, attacking yet another town before coming after Emelyn. The key to her survival—and finding her family—lies deep within her, if only she can conquer her doubts and believe she is more powerful than she ever dreamed.

In a journey that explores facing one’s fears amidst the uncertainties of an unknown world, The Thirteenth Tower is a magical tale of discovery, growth, and of love’s enduring strength.

                           MY REVIEW
This book had me hooked by the end of chapter one . The story is one of magic and the strength of love.  The story is about a young orphan Emelyn , who was abandoned as baby. She grows up as a housemaid. Her life is uneventful and pretty boring. Until the day that a bunch of magical creatures come to town and start hurting the townsfolk. But Emelyn is some how immune  to these creatures . And sets out with tow magi to thwart these creatures . With the promise of answers to who her parents are . She over comes so many things to help her survive but will she become strong enough to over come her doubts and be the woman she is suppose to be.
When I started to read this book it took me to a medieval world of magic and magical creatures , are just pure heavenly . There are new characters that will keep you entertained. Cobbe was a great character . Emelyn's character is a very mature and responsible young woman , who doesn't go and fall in love with the two men she meets along the way. There are so many cool characters that you will love , you just don't know if they are bad or good. I hope to learn more about these characters with each book. The forest people especially need to know about.
This is not your children's fairy tale . This is a grown up, sitting on the edge of your seat fairy tale.
You are taken for a ride that will show you imps, innocents , dark forests full of evil and dark creatures . The story is a good read that will take you to a world that will mystify you and make you fall in love. So I recommend this for anyone who wants to go a fantasy and get lost in a good story .

good morning every one

Good Sunday all , hope you are all having a great weekend. Today we are reviewing HEAVENLY
VISION by Koos Verkaik

                     BOOK BLURB
Nothing is what it seems, in this new, exciting Koos Verkaik novel…
It starts with the finding of an old manuscript hidden in an old atlas of the Cape of Good Hope, around the year 1745.
“Allart Vroom climbed down from the ship, and we stood ready to catch him,” wrote Captain Adriaen Kalf. “His clothes, his flesh, his bones pulverized in our hands. He formed a small heap of powder at our feet. Please, believe me—it is not, like someone suggested, the contents of broken hourglasses.”
Jan Glas, an Amsterdam publicist, reads about a machine that could cause the end of the entire world! Of course, he wants to find out the truth about the remarkable manuscript!
A long journey takes him to England and the USA.
A peculiar man crosses his path - Wesley Dunn, Raso Preacher, Center of the Heavenly Vision, Franks Knight, Florida, USA.
This man says that the world will be destroyed by ‘the Machine of Colton’, which is also mentioned in the manuscript that Jan found! Only a few people will survive – the true followers of the odd Mr. Wesley Dunn, and the Raso way of life!

Murder, mystery and intrigue will keep the reader guessing as to what is going on. Is the world coming to an end, and if so, who will survive?

                           MY REVIEW
What can I say about a book the combines mystery , intrigue a machine that will destroy the world . An old manuscript . A quirky set of friends that are out to save the world. You have a  great read .
It starts out in the Cape of Good Hope when an old manuscript and compass is found . Which is read by Jan Glas who goes on a mission to find the truth behind the manuscript . Which takes him from England to the states . In an attempt to find out the truth and find out if the world will end and who will survive .
The author takes us on a fun filled ride that takes us from the past to the present seamlessly . The story takes us from The Cape of Good Hope to England and across the pond to the United States . You don't know what will happen from one moment to the next . You will be sitting on the edge of your seat as you read. Koos unique writing style will keep you reading . I read this book in one sitting . I just couldn't put it down . The mystery alone kept me reading and wanting more . I didn't want the book to end .
The cast of characters are very unique and kind of quirky . From Jan a publicist and book dealer that stumbles across the manuscript that takes him on a fantastical journey . Where he meets some unusual characters that help him along his journey.  They are such quirky and actually somewhat lovable characters . You just don't know what they are up to and if they actually will survive . As you read you will shake your head at them sometimes .
If you want a book that has unique story line and some quirky lovable characters. That is full of mystery and intrigue. This is the book for you . The author will take you on a mystical journey from the past to the present and back . So if you want an enjoyable book that will keep you reading well into the night . Give this book a chance , I don't think you will be disappointed .

HAPPY HUMP DAY EVERYONE

HAPPY HUMP DAY ALL. Yes it is Wednesday and today we are going to review SEA OF STARS . ( THE KRICKET SERIES BOOK 2) by Amy A Bartol.

                    BOOK BLURB
Eighteen-year-old Kricket Hollowell was looking for her place in the world when she discovered that the universe was bigger—and more dangerous—than she had ever dreamed. Now, whisked across space to the planet Ethar, Kricket learns that her genetic ability to see the future makes her a sought-after commodity…and the catalyst for war between her star-crossed parents’ clans. According to Alameedan prophecy, one house will rise to power and the other will be completely wiped out, and Kricket’s precognition is believed to be the weapon that will tip the scales.
A target of both the Rafe and the Alameeda houses, Kricket finds protection—and a home—in the arms of Trey, her Etharian bodyguard-turned-boyfriend. But her visions of what’s to come disturb her deeply, especially since she must discover whether the gift of foresight will allow her to rewrite the future, or if her fate is as immovable as the stars.

               MY REVIEW
This is the second book in the series . Now I went and quickly read the first book so I could understand what was happening in the second book. And boy I am glad that I read the first book then dove right into this book. The story is about Kricket a young girl that is whisked away to the planet Ethar in this book . Where she finds out that her precognition is thought of as a threat and could be used as a weapon. That makes her a target for two rival houses . Now she has to figure out if her gift will let her rewrite the future or will she even survive ,

I will say this is my first set of books that I have read by this author. I was actually in a way in awe of her style of writing. She writes with such a flair and a eloquence.  Her books seem to come alive when you start to read. She transports you to a place that is full of action and romance. This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. You might even get a bit of a book hangover as you won't want to put it down until you are done. Trust me on that one
Her characters are so well developed and seem to just jump off the page at you.  She really gives the feeling of her characters a voice . Trey and Kricket are strong, smart characters and you see them grow together and separately in this book . You see them take steps in their relationship as they grow it . You also meet a whole cast of new characters that will intrigue you and make you laugh . She takes all her characters into some situations that will make you laugh , cry and scream at your kindle.
This is a good book full of action and will take you on a rollercoaster ride . If you want a good bood that will make you scream. laugh. cry and sigh. This will be the series for you so check them out . So add it to your summer reading list

Good morning lovelies, hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today we are reviewing PEARLS (PLAISIR COUPABLE BOOK ONE ) by L.M PRUITT

                      BOOK BLURB
Pearls combines paranormal romance and alternate history for a story anyone can sink their teeth--or fangs--in to. Another kick ass series from one of my favorite authors. If L.M. Pruitt isn't on your watch list, she should be!--Rachel Rawlings

From the incomparable mind of the writer who brought you the critically acclaimed WINGED saga comes a breathtaking, sexy, and dangerous new series

Between the hell of humanity and the heaven of eternal life lies a world of guilty pleasures….

In the aftermath of the conquering of what had once been the United States of America, Marguerite Saint-Laurent was given a choice: lose her New Orleans home to the new vampyre rulers or become the lover of the King’s confidant, Duke Grégoire Barthlémy.

Fifteen years later, Marguerite is a lady in her own right, a close friend of King Bienvenu, and headmistress of the Saint-Laurent School for Exceptional Young Women and Men. Her days are filled with educating future members of the demimonde, her nights with the Duke.

But underneath the glitz and glitter of the New Orleans Court, discord and animosity are brewing—and no one, not even those closest to the throne, are safe.

Political intrigue, civilized violence, sexual scandals… be sure not to forget your smelling salts….

(Part One of two--Part Two will be released in May 2015)

                 MY REVIEW
Ok I have been following this author since I read her very first book in the Winged series and her Jude Madelyn series . This is a new series that I am absolutely in love with. I devoured this book in one day . As I do with most of her books
I mean who wouldn't want to read a book set in a alternate time after the civil war. Where vampire are taking over and running everything . The humans are the minority as the vampyres are the ruling class. See I have you thinking already don't I.
The story starts when we meet Marguerite is given the chose of loosing her house to the ruling Vampyres or becoming the companion to the Duke Gregoire Barthlemy.
As we read we jump ahead 15yrs where we see Marguerite and Duke Gregoire happy and running the school for exceptional young women and men. Who will eventually become companions to the vampyres in court. The duke is the confident to the King . But if you have ever read anything to do with courts and rulers . There are always discord and backstabbing going on. There is no exception here . There is a a big discord brewing underneath all the glitz of the court. Will anyone be safe when the battle begins .
I love the characters in this book, they are doing what is expected and willing to do. Marguerite was a young wall flower who did what she needed to do to keep her house. you see her become a very strong woman who is in love with a very strong man who also is a vampyre. You can feel the love that is between them as you read. They both together are such a great couple . L.M wrote them which such a passion , that leaps right off the page.  The evil characters in the book are well you don't know how to take them . They are just evil but hide that evil so well under the guise of their titles in court . You just don't what is up with them but you know that all hell is going to let loose once they set their evil plan in motion. There is also a sexy smoldering side to this book also . You will swoon when you meet the Duke . I know my heart did a pitter patter when I met him. He is hot giggling and swooning .
Now  let me tell you , I adored this book. If you like vampyres with a great historical twist . This is the book for you . You will be devouring this book in one sitting. There is romance, intrigue and some laughter. You will swoon and shake your head . You will try and figure out what is going on and trust me  you will love every second of this book. The pearl scene alone will make you rethink the way you wear pearls. Just read the book and you will get my point . Cause it makes me want to run out and buy a long strand of pearls . So if you want a read that you can sink your teeth into . Check out  PEARLS  . I know you will not be disappointed at all . I think you will thank me in the end LOL.

                      MY REVIEW
Ok I really liked this book but I felt at the beginning that he was trying a little too hard at a complex story line . As I started to read , I started to fall in love with his writing and his characters . He takes us on such a rollercoaster ride as you try to figure out what is happening
This book is full of haunted characters . Adam is recovering from a bad breakup and the bad memories of an alcoholic mother. He is fighting hard not to follow in her footsteps. He really wants to become a journalist but things that are stopping him. from a editor that is just one big coward . To his inner demons of his drug use. Until the day he has a meeting with a porn star and a sometimes friend.  They drag him deeper and deeper into his drug addiction and the fetishes of closeted me and underage boys,  After awhile Adam is taken in by  James Wilton and his wife. They become the anchors as he starts to come out of his drug addiction back to sobriety. As he sobers up he becomes embroiled in finding out who a murderer is . He gets involved with vigilantism and as he gets dragged deeper in a web.
Christopher takes us on deep dark tale that is very complex and has complex characters . After I got into it I was riveted. I couldn't put the book down. Its dark and complex . Yes it might get confusing at times but if you just let go and read the way it is written you will come out the other side. You will be basically drug through the pits of hell , but you do come out the other side . Just take the ride, he will take you through some very scary and appalling scenes but trust me they show us a very flawed young man fighting his inner demons . You will actually fall in love with Adam even when he is the depths of hell .
So if you want a complex story that will take you into the depths of hell and bring you out the other side cheering . This book is the book for you , Christopher Rice is an author in his own right, coming out of the shadow of his author mother . He can create a story that is dark and also redeeming in the end . This is the book for you .

GOOD MONDAY MORNING ALL

Good Monday morning everyone ,hope you all had a wonderful weekend . I sure did . Today we are reviewing THE LAZARUS EXPERIMENT  by Mark Gegasperi.

                        BOOK BLURB
In the year 2084, a scientist-scholar wakes up from a coma to find himself the prime suspect of the murder of his mistress. He struggles in the stark world in which he regains consciousness to reconstruct relationships with his young son, and the wife with whom he was in a faltering marriage – even as he himself cannot remember if he had any part in the gruesome crime; nor even the circumstances of the fire in his lab that nearly killed him. He must race a dogged policewoman, who seems to believe that he is the killer from among a list of suspects, to learn the shocking, whole truth – before his family, and his own life, are destroyed.

         MY REVIEW
Welcome to the year 2084, Dr. Jonathon Kelton has just awoken from a year long coma. After being blown up in his lab.
Not remembering anything he is under the care of Dr Oskar Rose who basically rebuilt him. As he recovers his memories slowly come back to him . He is up for murder of his mistress and his family is falling apart and he has to fix his relationship with his young son.  He races against time and the police to find out the truth before his life and the life of the ones he loves are destroyed forever.
This book is set in the future but really not that far when you actually think about it . This is was a real page turner for me . I couldn't put this book down. I so wanted to get to the end to find out what the heck happened and wanting to find out who the killer actually was. But then there is the dread that I have when I am into a good book . The dread that the book will come to an end. Then what would I do
The characters are so well written and you want to help Johnathon out so badly . You can feel his frustration as he tries to piece his life back together and build his life back up. As you dive into his character you really have this feeling you can't shake . Is he an innocent man or a cold blooded killer. The author takes us on such a ride. You just never know as you read  along. You also get a real funky mad scientist vibe from Dr. Oskar Rose. Which to me added a lot to the story line . There are some graphic sex scenes and the F bomb is dropped a few times but it doesn't sway from the story at all.
This is an edge of your seat read for anyone who loves crime and sci fi readers . You have the best of both in this book. You will be reading this book well into the night. Trust me you will not figure this out until the end and then you will be shaking your head going what the heck just happened . You will be so lost in this book that time will fly. So if you want a great read that will make you think. This is the book for you.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I'm a poet turned fiction writer, who also happens to be an avid reader. I've had a library card for as long as I can remember and more books than you can fit into a studio apartment.

I have hosted multiple events for poets, musicians and storytellers. I feel most at home with artist because of their quest to have a more profound understanding of things.

As an author I find it hard to escape the perspective of being "the reader", the observer. In this way, I am able to enjoy the stories as they unfold from my hands. It also means that I am very conscious of the emotions that I cultivate in my readers. I know how to provide suspense and build relationships that bind you to the characters.

What I really love about stories surrounding the post-apocalypse and specifically zombie tales, is that it gets to the crux of all of our fears. It speaks to our desire to keep anarchy at bay and of how scared we are at the depth of our own depravity.
My main goal as a writer is to entertain. That being said, if you learn anything new about yourself or the world around you in the process of reading my work, then I feel like I have succeeded in providing you with something deeper.

BURIED UNDE THE CLUTTER IS UP FOR REVIEW TODAY

Good Thursday everyone, hope your week is going well. Today we are going to review BURIED UNDER THE CLUTTER (TINA TALES MYSTERIES BOOK 2) by Jan Christensen.

                     BOOK BLURB
Someone screams inside the old, neglected Victorian house next door, and Tina Shaw runs to find out what’s wrong. A woman bursts out the door saying her aunt is dead. Murdered. Tina notices that the hallway is piled high with cartons. Later when the woman begs her to help clean up the house, Tina hesitates. She’s just begun a career as a professional organizer, though, and her hands itch to start on a new job.

As Tina sifts through the clutter, she finds clues the murdered woman left behind. She learns the woman was rich, and all her relatives are suspects. But when the will is read, Tina and her family also become suspects. After her mother is arrested, Tina begins investigating in earnest with the help of her boyfriend, Hank (the Hunk). Will she find out who the killer is before her own life is put in danger?

Second in the Tina Tales series.

                MY REVIEW
This is the first book I have read by Jan Christensen. I will be reading more I really liked it . It is a mystery but it is also on the lighter side.  I started reading this and couldn't put it down . I so wanted to find out who killed the old lady. Trust me when you are reading you are like ok I like her as the murderer and then someone else comes into play. Tina is in the center of the investigation. She takes it upon herself to clean up the dead woman's house . Along the way she finds clues to who murdered  the old lady . Even her family is looking like suspects .  But as she works along her life becomes endangered . Will she figure everything out before she ends up dead.
The characters are so well written and each of the suspects have their own little quirks that make them unique and you will giggle at some of them . Tina is a sweet girl that has moved home to help out her mom and uncle . She is spunky and tough but also has a soft side especially for her mom , uncle and hey hunky boyfriend Hank. Her mom is like most mom's , she is a little controlling but loves her daughter. I really loved her uncle, who is deaf and man he is funny. He has a hearing dog and throws out really rare clichés whenever he can. Which usually come out at the most awkward times . We even learn a lot about Mrs. Blackwell , even though we never actually get to meet her. We find out a lot about her as Tina goes through all her stuff. I learnt a lot about hoarders when I read this book. I think I now have a little understanding about what a hoarder and why they do what they do.
This was a well written story that flows easily and doesn't lag. Its not a mind melting book. Its a cozy mystery that you can read in an evening . There are plenty of suspects that will keep you guessing all the way through the book . I would recommend  this book to anyone who wants to read mystery. You will be surprised when the murderer is revealed at the end of the book . You may have thought you had it figured out but you won't. Trust me on this fact , I honestly thought I had if figured out but I was wrong . So if you want a cozy read that will keep you going one more chapter . This is the book for you

HAPPY HUMP DAY EVERYONE

Welcome to Wednesday everyone. Today we are reviewing LETHAL CODE by Thomas Waite.

                        BOOK BLURB
America’s worst nightmare has come true: a “cyber–Pearl Harbor” attack by unknown terrorists has crippled the nation’s power grid—and brought the land of the free to its knees. As widespread panic and violence ravage the country, its ruthless captors issue their ultimatums…and vow an apocalyptic reckoning.
A defenseless nation scrambles to fight an invisible invasion. Chief among America’s last line of defense is Lana Elkins, head of a major cyber-security company—and former top NSA operative—who returns to her roots to spearhead the Agency’s frantic efforts to combat the enemy’s onslaught on its own terms. While she and her superiors take action to infiltrate a terrorist hotbed overseas, much closer to home ruthless jihadists with a nuclear bomb hijack a busload of schoolchildren—including Lana’s daughter—and race toward a rendezvous with Armageddon in America’s greatest city.
With Lethal Code, Thomas Waite raises the international techno-thriller to dangerously exciting levels—introducing a valiant new action heroine, and initiating a series that brings a harrowing new edge of realism to sensational speculative fiction.

               MY REVIEW
This is the first novel I have read from Thomas Waite. I was pleasantly surprised . Tech thrillers are a new genre for me. I started reading this over Easter weekend and I couldn't put it down. I was turning pages well into the night. It made me think of what would happen if the world's technology was hacked and held for ransom. What would governments do?
This story is based around a cyber attack that cripples nearly everything in the U.S . They take everything down , the power grids , nuclear power plants , They cause a nation wide black out that causes thousands to die in terrible accidents. That is their initial show of force , their ultimate plan is to destroy the U.S with their own nuclear missiles, basically wiping out North America.
Along comes a small but but plucky group of intelligence and security experts . Led by Lana Elkin, she is the head of a cyber security company. She heads back to her roots and heads up the group to find the hackers and stop a world war . They have to do the undoable and find them before they destroy the U.S
The characters in this book are well written, and plot was tight and fast paced . The character of Lana was well written , she was a tough as nails woman but had a softer side to her also especially with her daughter. The story takes us on such a journey , this is a fast paced tight read. The techies will love the all the technical jargon and those of us that aren't that technological savvy won't get lost. Trust me I am not that tech savvy and I didn't get lost in all the jargon. There is only one thing that kind of had me lost is when Lana left her underage daughter basically alone while the world was ending. Other then that the book was awesome .
So if you want a totally different read and you like thrillers and trying to figure out who it is . This is the book for you .

good tuesday everyone ,

Good Tuesday all . After a holiday over Easter I am back refreshed and ready to write some reviews . Today we are going to review MONSTER  by Steve Jackson

                          BOOK BLURB
On a snowy winter evening in 1982, twenty-one-year-old Mary Brown accepted a ride from a handsome stranger in the resort town of Breckenridge, Colorado. The trip ended with her brutally beaten and raped. Mary survived, but her predator's violence had only just begun.
After ten years in prison, Tom Luther was released a far more vicious criminal. Soon, from the Rockies to West Virginia, like Ted Bundy, Luther enticed a chain of women into his murderous trap. In this gripping new edition of a true crime masterpiece, acclaimed author Steve Jackson recounts the intriguing pursuit and long awaited conviction of a charismatic, monstrous psychopath--one who remains a suspect in three other crimes, and has never given up hope of escape.

          MY REVIEW
Ok I am an avid true crime reader. I love trying to figure out how they good guys catch the sick criminals. Well here we go again. I fell in love with this book. I was on the edge of me seat the whole time. Mr. Jackson keeps us turning the pages.
This book is about the brutal rapes and murder that were done by Tom Luther. Who left a bloody trail from the Rockies to West Virginia . There is one particular case that the author writes about Cher Elder. Mary is the only woman to survive the brutal attacks and helps the police . But that doesn't stop Tom and is brutality that ensues.
The author sends us the depths of hell with this book. You see how hard the police detectives work on apprehending the man. The lengths they will go to stop the mad man. I will warn you though , if you start reading this book at night . You will feel the need to get a guard dog and have them sleep with you. Also you will be wanting to sleep with the light on and a baseball bat beside you in bed. Trust me I was curled up on the couch reading away and poor unsuspecting hubby came into the living room and touched my shoulder and I screamed. I will also warn you that there are 16 pages of graphic crime scene photos, that will kind of shock you as you read along . But I honestly think that they are a good addition to the book. It also shows the dedication of the detectives that worked tirelessly on the case. Proving that there are good guys out there that will go to ends of the earth to put a villain in jail. So if you like reading true crime and want a great book . Check it out , you will be reading well into the night.

HAPPY HUMP DAY EVERYONE

Good morning everyone. ITS HUMP DAY woohooooo, today we are going to review the second book in the Virgil Mclendon series OF LIONS AND LAMBS  by Catt Dahman

                   BOOK BLURB
It's sunny California and everyone is grooving to popular music In the land of free love. A serial killer is preying on military men and other tough guys, drugging them, mutilating, torturing them, and then killing them. The crime scenes are among the most brutal that law enforcement has ever seen, and yet, there are few clues left with the mangled corpses. The murders are in double figures, and the Sierra Vista sheriff's office, working with the FBI, call Virgil McLendon to come show them his weird system of "profiling" and of "reading crime scenes", because they have lost all hope of finding the clever, lucky killer.
He is their last hope of stopping the massacre. As a large task force tries to find the killer, the killer taunts them. Virgil refuses to give up and as he examines each flimsy clue, and develops some strange theories, he and his team begin to develop a picture of the murderer. Unfortunately, the picture they have is a rough profile and doesn't give them a name or a way to find the cruel murderer. Only through a random clue found in an unlikely place, do they find a trail. As they close in, tables are turned, and the killer and the danger becomes personal. Just as a lion rips a lab's throat away, this killer, will play with his prey, and wait for just the right second to bite down. Can Virgil McLendon catch him in time? It'll be a race to the finish.
Based on a true murderer in California, this fictional account delves into the question of what makes a serial killer, are profiles useful, and what dark evil lives at the base of a killer's soul. When pushed hard enough, any man may break.

                    MY REVIEW
This is the second book in Virgil McLendon series by Catt. I have fallen in love with these books and I couldn't put this one down . I got sucked in yet again. Her characters are so likeable and you want them to succeed. Virgil is the kind of guy you want around . He is a great profiler when profiling wasn't the norm. His unique crime solving techniques have him travelling to California to help find a serial killer. As they race to find the killer , things go a little hairy at home . As they work hard to find the killer . One of their own might be the next target
I love Catt's characters , love Virgil and his no nonsense approach to solving these murders. He teaches them on what to look for and how to do it. He is a man's man but also has this sweet sensitive side to him. That just makes you fall in love with him over and over. You meet some new characters in this book but there are the orginal cast also in the book. They are having their own problems at the house. Catt puts a lot of time and effort into creating these characters and I love each and everyone of them .
This is the second book that I have read by Catt and I am loving them . She takes us on the rides of our lives . The stories are based on true cases that have happened . She makes us think about what would cause someone to do what they did. The research that Catt has done is par none . It feels like she puts her heart and soul into each story, I will admit I am a Virgil groupie now and can't wait to read the rest of the series . They will pull you in and keep you reading until very late into the night . Trust me it may be only 130 pages but they are the most intense pages that you will ever read . I will warn you though there are some intense scenes of violence in this book . But you will be so sucked in that it won't even matter .   So if you want a good series to read  I suggest this series . Start with book one OF BLOOD AND WATER  so you can see how Virgil becomes a profiler . and the continue wit OF LIONS AND LAMBS
