A GOOD SATURDAY TO ALL OF YOU

It's almost 10 am on this beautiful Saturday morning. I am sitting on the patio soaking up the sunshine before it gets too hot . I am writing this review sitting at my new patio table. This is so awesome loving every minute of the summer. So today's book is called TURNER'S POINT by Gordon Osmond ,

BOOK BLURB
Turner’s Point follows the fallout from the explosion of the marriage of Dan and Eileen Brockway, including:

· their son’s discovery of his sexual orientation and his true love
· the struggles of Dan, his new bride, and Dan’s longtime friend, Raul, in establishing a new law firm
· the efforts of Eileen and her son to resurrect their shattered lives back in their hometown
· Raul’s reunion with his secret daughter.

In addition to San Diego, Hollywood, and Johnson, Ohio, the story travels to the worlds of Wall Street lawyers and media personalities in New York City.

- “sublime and ridiculously good writing. One can simply groove on the poetic pulse of the language.” James F. Broderick, author of Stalked

WARNING: Turner’s Point contains some sexually explicit material that may be confusing to those who have never had sex and offensive to those who haven’t had it as excitingly as it’s portrayed in the book.

MY REVIEW
Let me introduce you all to the Brockway family. As Dan and Eileen's marriage dissolves down to nothing . With the infidelity on both sides . They must come to terms with that and the idea of their son's sexual orientation. Also the problems between Dan and his new bride and the trials of his best friend building a law firm
There is also the reunion of Eileen and her son, trying to fix the shattered lives in their home town . Oh yeah and don't forget Raoul and his reunion with his secret daughter.
This story spans from Johnson Ohio, to Hollywood to San Diego. This story walks the halls of Wall street lawyer and New York media types
You will stay up turning pages with this book. Mr. Osmond takes us on an adventure with every turn of the page There are many personalities in this book all with great story line.
Starting out with a wild road trip that Eileen is taking . To reunite with her son. After the public humiliation of her marriage blowing up in her face.
Once together Eileen and Kyle start a new business, as they are trying to find themselves . Kyle is trying to figure out his sexual orientation, and his mom, well she has her own itch to scratch so to speak.  Back in San Diego, Kyles dad was having trouble of his own, trying to start a new law firm and his new bride. The characters are very complex and when you read them . You know you want to strangle a few people. Cheer for the rest . Trust me I kind a wanted to strangle Dan's new wife , she was so inappropriate. But hey we all have a book character that we all kind a want to strangle every now and then . So you want to cheer when they finally figure it out
This is a well written book with loads of twists and turns. Great flow even though there was an a lot of characters to follow. You could follow them with ease. Mr. Osmond has done a great job tying all the characters together and making the plot lines plausible but you do have to follow along cause it does jump from past to present.
I will say this for Mr. Osmond , he has written a well rounded novel. Full of tension, people coming to terms with  what they are and love of family. I will say I urge you to read this book you will not be disappointed . If you like strongly written words and great subplots and a book that will keep you turning pages well into the night please check out TURNERS POINT . I will say, you won't be disappointed one bit .

HEY ALL IT IS FRIDAY

Hey all happy Friday. This is a special day for me . A first of I hope will be many. Today is my first author interview.

So everyone out there. I would like to introduce you all to Michael Phillip Cash
Good morning Michael, thank you for coming by and having a chat with me

. Can you tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Michael Phillip Cash. I'm 36 years old and I've been writing for 20 years. 5 of them professionally. I'm 5'11, 200 lbs, I live on Long Island with my wife and kids, and cheeseburgers without the bun is my favorite food. I do not like long walks on the beach.

Can you tell us a little bit about your published books

I have a line of novels out. Brood X, Stillwell, The Hanging Tree, Schism, Collision and The Flip. My novels range from paranormal to romance to fantasy. I'm also a big sucker for self help and spiritual books.

Your new book Flip, fill us in on that one. Have you ever flipped a house or encountered a ghost

I actually have flipped one house in my life but it was many moons before I became a professional writer. I'm more versed in house flipping shows than actual house flipping. Yes, I've encountered several ghosts in my day. Not face to face but I've seen them roaming the hallways. My friends and brother can attest to one ghost in a house I used to live in. He would walk back and forth in our hallway.

Do you have any rituals when writing.
Travel Channel on mute in background. ALWAYS.

Did you  read horror stories as a kid. If so which ones.

I did and I liked them but I write a more realistic horror story. Blood and guts are just gratuitous and not my thing.

How long does it take for you to write a book

Depends on how much of the story I beat out beforehand but generally a month because I write everyday.
Do you have any words of wisdom for aspiring authors out there. Who want to write horror stories.

Write. Write. Write. And read Save the Cat by the late and great Blake Snyder. It will teach you how to create a map for your story. It's my bible.

What is your favorite book and author.

As mentioned previously I'm a huge self help author. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles is my all time favorite.

Which author inspired you to write.

My first love and passion is screenplays. Quentin Tarantino is my inspiration for my creativity.

Ok here is the question that I know everyone will want to know
      Coca cola or pepsi

Water but if I had a choice, diet coke.

Do you Music is the greatest creative outlet for me. I have 25 years of playlists. I create a new playlist ever season to represent the change. I listen to my playlists, new and old, constantly. The music seeps into my subconscious and I get inspiration to write. have character playlists, that you
listen to while writing

12, last but not least. Are there any new books coming out after THE  FLIP.

Of course!  Book III in the Darracia saga is almost complete. I'm working on a few more books, namely a political action/adventure and another lighthearted ghost comedy.

Thank you for the great interview Michael .

Now I want to tell you about Michael's new book The Flip

BOOK BLURB
Julie and Brad Evans are house flippers. They buy low, clean out the old occupants junk, and try to make a profit. Enter Hemmings House on Bedlam Street in scenic Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island. Too good a deal to pass up, but with an ominous secret. The old Victorian Mansion has dwellers that do not want to be dispossessed. As the house reveals it's past, will the couples marriage survive The Flip?

MY REVIEW

Let me introduce you all to Brad and Julie Evans. They are
house flippers.  With a get in clean up, fix and sell. They are doing pretty good for themselves. Until the day they found the house on Bedlam street.  An old Victorian manor. The Hemming house as it is called. They start to clean out the place but there are some strange things going on . As Brad finds out, there are things going on that will test his patience and test the bonds of his and Julie's marriage. Will they survive the flip.
This is a great ghost story. Its not your typical run of the mill ghost story, This is a gentler yet in my opinion a better written story. The author doesn't resort to graphic violence or gore in his stories . They are written with a passion that will keep you turning the pages. There is usually a twist in the end that will make you think wow.
The characters of Brad and Julie are very well written. Brad is a hunky ex  military man, who would do anything for his wife Julie. He is the brawn in the flipping game . Julie is the smart no nonsense woman that keeps Brad grounded. The other characters in the book Tess and Gerald are well written . Loved how the author went back and forth between the characters stories, seamlessly . Even the mention of the underground railway has a part in the story.  Tess and Gerald are the ghosts in the story by the way. Tess is on a mission to make Brad hers. Enter the sentinels , who will stop Tess when she gets a little too randy . Which is most of the time. The way it ends will make you happy and smile . There are things that will make you giggle and also go what the heck .
This was a page turner for me . Once I started reading I couldn't put it down until I was done. I had to figure out what was going on. Why Tess was the way she was and will Brad and Julie survive the onslaught of what was happening. Will the house ever be ready to sell , will they sell and what about the Tiffany lampshade that they found in the secret room. There is something in the secret room but not going to tell you. You have to read the book to find that out. I am not going to spoil that for you all .
So, if you love a great ghost story with out all the graphic violence and the gore of most stories. Michael 's book is for you. Michael is now an author that I will be keeping my eye on. He is on his way to becoming a great horror writer with a hint of authors gone by. He doesn't need to be graphic to keep his audience entertained. The story will do that all by its self. So if you like ghost stories with a love story mixed in . I will strongly suggest you check out Michael's book . Great summer read for the campsite or the pool, I promise you will not be disappointed one bit .

Welcome to Thursday all

Hey all I hope this Thursday finds you all well and reading something fantastic. I know I have just finished 3 books. Blame the storm that rolled in last night, a power outage at 3 in the morning, a kindle paper white and two big ass dogs crawling into bed with you. Its the perfect early morning  to read . Todays book is a great book . THE EXPERIMENT OF DREAMS by Brandon Zenner

BOOK BLURB
Benjamin Walker’s lifelong career of testing experimental drugs and medicines, as well as participating in fascinating sleep-related studies, has come to an end. A new and lucrative job opportunity is offered to Ben—working on a project named Lucy, a machine capable of reading and recording a person’s dreams in intimate detail. Headed by the genius Dr. Peter Wulfric and privately funded by the elusive millionaire, Mr. Timothy Kalispell—a man with a fascination of the arts that borders on the obsessive—takes Ben all over the world, from the Louvre in Paris to the Sistine Chapel in Rome.
Along his travels, Ben meets a beautiful girl named Sophia, who might just help him overcome his crushing depression over the death of his lost love, his Emily. All is finally going well for Ben . . . until strange dreams of a town named Drapery Falls begin to plague him, and memories once hidden begin to reveal themselves. The doctors and staff onboard team Lucy are not who Ben thinks they are, and Mr. Kalispell will stop at nothing to keep Ben’s emerging memories buried for good. Ben is put on a collision course that will bring him to the brink of total insanity, and perhaps even death. At the heart of it all, Ben’s worst enemy is his own mind, and he must confront his past in order to save his future.

MY REVIEW
I was really looking for something different to read and boy howdy did I find it in this book.
Say hello to Benjamin Walker. A man who suffers from severe migraines . He has become a trial drug testing junkie.  When his drug trial comes to an end . Ben is offered a very lucrative opportunity to help out in a trial called Lucy. Which he happily signs up for
Along comes Sophia will she be able to help him with his migraines, and help get him over his loss of his wife Emily. Life is good for Ben right now. Until the a mysterious town keeps popping up in his dreams. People aren't who they seem to be and no one is going to help him . He is on a collision course with insanity. Will anyone help him come back from the edge. Will he survive confronting his past in order to save his future . I sure hope so
If you ever have been intrigued by what the mind can do and comprehend. This is the book for you. The way Brandon takes through the agony of what Ben is going through , the agony of loosing his wife at such a young age. The not being able to let her go.  The twists and turns in this novel will take you one way then do a 180 and go in the other direction. You see the frailties of humans along with the greediness of big tech firms . Its kind a scary how easily they can get their way into the lives of people.
You can't trust anyone in this book . poor Ben can't even trust his own mind at one point as the doctors push him to the brink of insanity. They don't help him when his memories start to surface about a small town. Ben is a lost trapped soul, that these men are just using to further their ideals and their greed.
This is a great first novel for this gentleman. But I am hoping it will not be the last, This book has such a good plot with some great turns and sub plots. The characters are so well written , you can feel their angst and you know you just want to help Ben come back from the edge.
Trust me when you read this book you will not know who to trust and really isn't that part of the fun. Admit it ladies, we all love a great mystery. I know I do .
So if you like the book of Micheal Crichton, this is the book for you . It has all the intrigue and mystery that involve the tech world, Check this book out please cause I will say it is one that should be read. This I hope is the first of many books from this author .

HAPPY HUMP DAY

HAPPY HUMP DAY EVERYONE. I am going to give you a great review today. This is a hot little boxed set from Cassandra Carr, THE PAYMENT

BOOK BLURB
Catrina Carter is in over her head. Way over her head. She’s in debt and, short of bankruptcy, which wouldn’t happen fast enough to pay the creditors nipping at her heels, Catrina has few choices. Eviction is coming any day, and even though she traded in her great car for a “more affordable” model, it's about to be repossessed too. Catrina goes to Debt Management Associates, or DMA, for help.
The cost for DMA's help is something she never thought she could pay, but out of options, Catrina agrees to serve a man who pays her debt in full, and begins training in how to please him. Jared. Her new benefactor. He is tasked with helping Catrina get her life back on track, in addition to taking his pleasure with her and ordering her to oblige friends, colleagues, and even total strangers sexually on his whim.
When Catrina leaves the DMA program after her one year term of service, will she be able to keep the lessons Jared literally spanked into her topmost in her mind, or will old habits rear their designer heads?

NOTE: The Payment Series is a serial. They are best read in order and are not really standalone stories.
WARNING: This series contains material some readers might find objectionable, such frequent punishments, anal play and humiliation. If these themes bother you, please do not purchase this series.

MY REVIEW
FIRST OFF THIS BOOK IS INTENDED FOR PEOPLE OVER THE AGE OF 18, and has scenes that may be offensive to some people . Now that has been said lets get on with the review
Let me introduce you to Catrina , a young woman that has some very severe money problems . She is on the edge of bankruptcy and the creditors are hounding her day and night. There is one way that she can delete her problems. But, it will cost her. Enter the DMA,  A place where she can get help with her debt
Once she walks into the DMA, she realizes that this is going to cost her. They will help her but it will cost her a year of her life, a year of sexual slavery. Doing anything that the man who bought her want her to do. If he asks her to service his friends she must. She is at his beck and call. She doesn't know if she could do it. But, it is the only way to get out debt. So she signs . Her life begins, with daily punishments and he master Jared. Jared is so not shy when it comes to her and the punishments. The only thing that was off limits was penetration of the vagina.
If you like to read about blow jobs spankings and anal sex, there is tons of it going on in this book. There is quite a lot of  punishment in this book. but also some tender moments that will get to you.
This is not a love story, Cassandra wrote a very dark ride. This isn't your typical love story . These characters are not your everyday day people. To Jared and Catrina this is a business transaction, nothing more, nothing less. There are no feelings what so ever. As Catrina keeps saying this is getting her out of debt. Cassandra did a great job writing the story this way , keeping the emotions out of their time together. Its only a job, breaking Catrina of her bad habits.
Now you are probably asking yourself  why am I blogging this book. Well for one it isn't your typical romance story. Its dark and cold, which in my opinion is a refreshing. You can only read so many romance books until they all start to read the same. This book took me out of my reading comfort zone. Which I love. So if you like dark erotica and want to be taken out of your comfort zone. This book actually will make you think , what if I was in this situation, what would you do . So if you want to read a boxed set that is out of your comfort zone. check it out.
Cassandra Carr is an author that you should be on the look out for .

good tuesday all

Good morning all, hope today finds you all well and rested. Today's book is a bit different it is a true life crime book, yes I read those also. Like I said I read just about anything , except historical romance. Yeah those books I just can't get into for some reason, So, here is todays book
MOMMY'S A MOLE by Eve Carson

BOOK BLURB
“There is no crueler tyranny than that which is exercised under cover of law, and with the colors of justice.” - U.S. v. Jannotti, 673 F.2d 578, 614 (3d Cir. 1982).

The sun trickled through the dense tangle of the spring’s budding branches. Karen Wolfe Churgin walked her dogs on April 18, 1990, on her remote wooded property on Chebacco Road. The veterinarian spotted a white sphere obstructing a drainage ditch. Churgin’s home sat on top of the bluff overlooking Chebacco Lake, and the lower-wooded basin was often flooded with water. The sparsely inhabited wilderness in Hamilton, Massachusetts attracted hikers and bikers, but was also a secluded setting known for criminal activity. From a distance, she saw an object, a white sphere. When she reached to dislodge it, she reeled back in horror. She immediately called the police.

“I saw something in the woods that looked like a punched-in volleyball,” Karen told the Beverly Times on April 25, 1990. “I looked closer and it was a human skull. It had suture-like zigzagged lines. Those are unique to human skulls.”

Officer Hatfield was the first to respond, and the initial conclusion determined the discovery was, indeed, a human skull. Hamilton Police Chief Walter Cullen arrived at the scene next and photographed the find. The Massachusetts State Police Crime Prevention and Control Unit, CPAC, dispatched Cpl. Dennis Marks to take charge of the crime scene. Local police sent the skull and a nearby black boot to Hunt Memorial Hospital to examine, but nothing else surfaced in the initial cursory search of the surrounding area. Notices went out to departments to assist the resident force, and names poured in to compare the cranium to known missing persons. Joan Webster’s name appeared on the list, but the resting spot was more than thirty miles from the long-speculated crime scene at Pier 7 in Boston.

“Of course, it’s being checked out, but the location doesn’t seem to correlate. Circumstances pointed to her being taken out in a boat and dumped at sea. This is something way up north and doesn’t tie to anything.” -George Webster Harvard Crimson April 28, 1990

MY REVIEW
This is a true story of Joan Webster who went missing . The story starts on Thanksgiving many years before. On thanksgiving in 1981 Joan Webster heads to the airport, never to be seen again. She wen missing.
Eve , Joan's sister n law and friend, started looking into her disappearance . She was trying to get justice for Joan and her family.  As she unravels the clues , it almost looks like Joan was just collateral damage .  Eve pieces things together slowly the more she finds out the messier everything seems to get
Eve takes us through every piece of evidence. but as she finds out more and gets deeper into the case, the more she looses her family. They become distant and then they do the unthinkable and they turn against her. Basically shutting her out from their lives. But like a dog with a bone she doesn't give up and keeps going after the evidence. But, with every clue she uncovers the more the authorities turn her away.
The case is a heart breaker. The way the family turns against her when all she tries to do is help . The book is full of so many facts and timelines which helps tell the story , Eve has worked very hard on the getting all the evidence and putting it all together in one great book . It a thick book but it is a great read . You will be lost in trying to figure out what happened to Joan . I know  I was trying to piece it all together . There are so many twists and turns that you will be reading all night long.  This case hasn't been solved so maybe with the retelling of Joan's story.
Maybe just maybe there might be something come to light. To help solve this case and help Joan come home .
If you love a mystery and also like a true story crime novel this is the book for you . So check it out and help try and figure out this case . You won't be disappointed .

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL MY FRIENDS IN TH STATES

Good day all , I am having to repost my blog cause  good ole mother nature decided to screw with me this morning. Driving me to actually really clean my house. Yeah I know I actually dusted today . OMG you say . I know kind a scary huh. But I am back and lets talk about books . I read this fun read so without further adieu FANGS OF ANARCHY  by Dakota Cassidy

BOOK BLURB
Fangs of Anarchy-Killing The Alpha: Part One—Alpha Down

Irish McConnell would give his immortality for a taste of Claire Montgomery. But the Fangs of Anarchy leader can’t risk his biker club, his vampire clan, or his tenuous truce with werewolf Gannon Dodd, Claire’s pack alpha—and her intended mate. Nope. Vamps and weres don’t mix, and Irish has managed to keep that in mind for five long, lust-filled years.

But now Claire’s gone and done something really, really (really!) bad, guaranteeing her doom if she’s ever found out. Truce be damned, Irish won’t leave her unprotected, despite the fact this is one murder-filled bundle of trouble he doesn’t need.

And unfortunately for Irish, the trouble’s just beginning…

*Author note: Dear readers, this is part one of approximately a five-part serial. You know what that means? That’s right—cliffhangers (cue evil music). But wait! Before you hate, I hear anticipation is good for your complexion, and even your hair. I don’t know if that’s true or just a rumor, but is it worth the risk? Nonetheless, I solemnly swear to keep the stories coming swiftly, so your heads don’t asplode from waiting!

MY REVIEW
First off let me tell you this BEST COVER EVER.
Let me introduce you to Irish McConnell the leader of the Fangs a hot vampire biker club. and Claire Montgomery , the shy librarian, who is a werewolf and the intended mate to Gannon Dodd, the leader of the weres biker club. Irish has been harboring strong feelings for Claire but he can't act upon them because of the rules . Weres and Vampires do not mix for any reason , Until the day he walks into the dingy bar and finds Claire and the mess she made. Not knowing what happened Irish decides to help poor Claire. wanting to find the reason why Claire did what she did.
Now they have one hot night of forbidden passion. Knowing that they will never be able to do it again. Now the Weres are moving in and they know something is up , will Irish and Claire be found out and will they find their way to each other.
All I can say is this, this book needs to be on every woman's naughty reading list. It is hot hot hot.  The story unfolds when all the super naturals are pushed into certain areas. Taken from their homes and jobs . They are forced to figure out how to survive hence the biker clubs.
The characters are so sexy and complex . Irish is one character that you can picture yourself , hopping behind him and driving off into the sunset on the back of his Harley. He is the vision of the alpha man. Gruff but with a heart of gold for the one woman that he wants . Claire is a force to be reckoned with also. She may be small and a librarian , but she knows what she wants and it isn't Gannon Dodd. She will do just about  anything not to mate .
Dakota Cassidy takes us on a very naughty night of passion. You will be turning the pages well into the night. I know I was , trust me once you are done there will be great rewards and your hubby will thank you. heheheheheheheehehehehe
So if you want a very naughty book to add to your naughty pile . You all know you have one. I suggest that you make room for this naughty but fun read. A great afternoon read for anyone

ITS GHOST TIME

Good Sunday morning all. Hope you all have had a great weekend . Hopefully you all got some reading done. I spent all Saturday in a lounger, outside reading yesterday. It was so gorgeous and hot
I found some great new books. Today's book is STILLWELL A HAUNTING IN LONG ISLAND by Michael Phillip Cash. A great new author I found.

BOOK BLURB
Paul Russo’s wife just died. While trying to get his family’s life back in order, Paul is being tormented by a demon who is holding his wife's spirit hostage on the other side. His fate is intertwined with an old haunted mansion on the north shore of Long Island called Stillwell Manor. Paul must find clues dating back hundreds of years to set his wife's soul free.

MY REVIEW
Meet Paul a man who after a year of watching his wife battle cancer. Has finally watched her pass away . Now he must pull his life together and get his life and the lives of his children back together. Even though they are having strange
nightmares and the youngest Stella is seeing her mom.
Now he goes back to work he has to sell a mansion. A haunted mansion. There are things that have gone on there, terrible
things. Stemming way back to Revolutionary times.  Will Paul be able to pull it together and save his wife's spirit for the monster that is holding her. Will he be able to save himself and his children in the process,
This is a true mixture of a ghost story and a love story. Michael writes a tale of undying love and what happens when one tries to hold it together after the one true love in their life passes away.
The characters in this story are so well written. You can feel what they go through. If you have anyone that you love pass away . You know that feeling you have that you just wish you had one more day. One more moment. You know you have to move on but how do you do that. Just like all of us , Paul has to pick himself up and try and pull it together for the sake of his children. They are all mourning and trying to move on but its so hard. You feel that with the kids especially . That is just part of the story , then there is the ghost story part. Which is craftly well written. You know you shouldn't go into the room but of course you are going to walk into the cold room where Hannah was kept. There are just some creepy things that go on in that mansion that Paul must figure out before they can sell it.  Both story lines are masterfully well written and go together seamlessly . The story behind the whole book to me was that when the love of your life dies, you must find a way to continue on. Always remember you will be together again.
Michael has taken the ghost story to a new level, not only giving us a good scare but also wrapping a message of love beyond the stars. This is a book that will keep you on the edge of your seats reading all night long. So check out this exciting new author. You won't be disappointed

There has been so much bloodshed , it seems that anyone that goes asking Hunter and Brooke about Lacey they end up with a bullet through their chest. As Hunter and Brooke realize that the walls are closing in on them . They start to feel the pressure and the craziness . Will Lacey be found and will things ever be normal
I was so waiting for this book. I was so excited when it was on my kindle. All I can say is WOW, Queen had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I had tears flowing down my cheeks at some points. Lacey is a heroine in my opinion. She never gave up especially once she saw her sister . It brought the fight out in Lacey again.  She is a very tough cookie , I loved that about her character. What can I say all the characters were very well written . You can sure feel the depths of despair Brooke is in . She really can't function without Hunter. Hunter is the calming in the craziness of this whole kidnapping.  They know they are doing wrong but the call of the blood money is too intoxicating to let it go. The new characters fit seamlessly into the story. They are all fighters and take matters into their own eyes. The way the momma bear came out when Lacey's mom went to find her .
You will want to scream at the kindle when you read the things that Lacey went through. The author pants you such a story as you are reading, its like a movie playing . You can see every detail and feel every emotion. You can feel the hatred and the fear that is racing through the pages . The twists and turns were fabulous. The ending is very understandable. It ended the right way.
So if you want a great series to read that is raw, emotional and it feels all too real. Check out the  ABDUCTED SERIES BY QUEEN BROWN, THIS IS A 5PLUS STAR RATING IN MY BOOK

good thursday all

Good Thursday all. Been reading up a storm, my brain is about to explode with all the characters running around in there. Its going to be another beautiful day out going to be hot . So will be reading outside today.
But alas I digress , lets do todays book DIRTY BOOK MURDER by Thomas Shawver

BOOK BLURB
In this smart, fast-paced mystery debut, Thomas Shawver introduces a charming, unlikely hero from the rarefied world of antique books.

Book merchant Michael Bevan arrives at the Kansas City auction house hoping to uncover some hidden literary gold. Though the auction ad had mentioned erotica, Michael is amazed to find lovely Japanese Shunga scrolls and a first edition of a novel by French author Colette with an inscription by Ernest Hemingway. This one item alone could fetch a small fortune in the right market.

As Michael and fellow dealer Gareth Hughes are warming up for battle, a stranger comes out of nowhere and outbids them—to the tune of sixty grand. But Gareth is unwilling to leave the auction house empty-handed, so he steals two volumes, including the Colette novel. When Gareth is found dead the next day, Michael quickly becomes the prime suspect: Not only had the pair been tossed out of a bar mid-fistfight the night before, but there is evidence from Michael’s shop at the crime scene.

Now the attorney-turned-bookman must find out who wanted the Colette so badly that they would kill for it—and frame Michael. Desperate to stay out of police custody, Michael follows the murderer’s trail into the wealthiest echelons of the city, where power and influence meet corruption—and mystery and eroticism are perverted by pure evil. Unfortunately for Michael, one dead book dealer is only the opening chapter in a terrifying tale of high culture and lowlifes.

MY REVIEW
Let me introduce you all to Michael Bevan a small time book dealer. Who arrives in a Kansas auction barn. On the search for a rare set of Japanese erotica. There are some beautiful Japanese scrolls, and a first edition Colette. Signed by some great authors in history. In walks a tall dark stranger that tries to out bid Michael for the Colette. Not to be outdone his friend Gareth steals the Colette and ends up dead the next day. Michael becomes the prime suspect in the murder.
Who would want the Colette so badly that they would murder and frame someone for it. Michael hunts down the person, right into the wealthiest parts of the city. Will he survive to find out who is trying to kill him
Mr Shawver takes you on a rollercoaster ride from the very beginning. He goes really knows how to write about dirty politics, dirty money and dirty sex, Yes there is some kinky , kinky sex in this book .
The characters are very well written and are complex mixture, They pull you in from the start, You feel for Michael, drowning in alcohol and not being able to take care of his own daughter. She is sent to other family members .  He tries hard to win her back even though she is being a bitchy little thing. That you kind a want to slap up side the head for being such a bitch to her father. She kind a drove me crazy for a bit.  All the characters went from good to bad to down right evil in some areas.
This is a book that you can read while just hanging out, you will turn the pages just to find out if Michael will figure out who murdered him. So check it out if you like a little kink with your mystery

The stranger with blue-eyes warned her not to go, but does Abby dare enter the zombie zone to get answers? Or is she doomed to live the life her glimpse is about to show her?

Find out in this suspenseful YA romance!

MY REVIEW
This YA book has it all. Meet Abby an eighteen year old living in Brighton, a futuristic city where they wear DATE OF DEATH watches. The city is such a peaceful place . Until the day her friends come back from her advice meeting. She won't tell Abby anything. The same day she meets a blue eyed stranger with a ominous message for Abby. Will Abby live the ideal life the  persons in charge have deemed for her or will she choose to follow the blue eyed boy into the zombie zone to her true destiny
Oh my where to start on this book . It has everything zombies , young love, yetis and a dsypotian society. The story reminds me somewhat hunger games and divergent . They are in societies where they are taken away if different . They like everyone to be the same and if you are different you are frowned on.
The characters are so fun to read. Abby is a reluctant heroine . She thinks of things in different ways. She wants to go with the rules but part of her just wants to know everything that is going on. She truly fights with her inner self about what she is doing. She is just a little OCD when it comes to keeping her eye on her DATE OF DEATH watch .  She turns out to be brave when it counts .
Kaden the blue eyed boy , loved how he wanted to trust Abby but at first he was kind a trying to keep Abby at arms reach. Testing the water so to speak. Really seeing if she worth trusting. As they start to trust each other, Well romance blooms between them, they are such a sweet couple.
Then there are the zombies and yetis . Well Abby met the yeti as he was stealing her away. The zombies on the other hand aren't really what they seem.
There is so much packed into this book. It all seamlessly flows together into an action packed book . I was page turning way into the night. The characters were great. Brenda takes us on a ride with so many twists and turns . It may by a YA book but I think that anyone would like this book. So if you want a great read for the summer for your kids or even for yourself . Check it out.
I recommend it to everyone , check it out

good tuesday all hope everyone had a great weekend

Hey all sorry I haven't posted , it was a long weekend here so been busy getting the yard and patio ready for summer. So it was three days of working at weeding and thinking of what plants I want to plant. Then on Monday it rained and I read . So today's book is SIREN'S CALL by Jessica Cage

BOOK BLURB
After being snatched from the street and drugged, Syrinada wakes to find herself strapped to a bed with a predator in the next room. In a moment where she might have shut down and accepted her fate, a defense mechanism she isn't aware she possesses surfaces. Syrinanda struggles to understand the turn that her life has taken. What are these new powers and who can she turn to for guidance?

Malachi, a long time friend, knows more about her than he's ever admitted. When he witnesses her tapping into this unknown source of power, he steps in. There is more about him that she doesn’t know, and now is the time to pull off the mask. He reveals to her that she is a Siren, but there is much more to her background, darker things, and for that reason she must stay hidden. The call of her newfound heritage is a strong one, and she finds herself incapable of denying her new urges. Now that she has brought attention to herself, they must flee, but how long can you run before your demons catch up with you?

MY REVIEW
This a first for me, well first mermaid book that is . Let me introduce you to Syrinada. The first time we meet her. She is a accosted by street thugs and taken away. When she wakes up she finds herself tied to the bed and a very bad man in the other room. As he tries to rape Syrinada blows him up with her mind.  Now she is scared and running to get home . Not knowing how she can do this she goes on a rampage leaving dead men in her wake . Until her best friend and sexy man steps in to stop her , Malachi takes her to live with him and tries to help her out. The first thing he needs to do is rip the bandage off and tell her that she is a Siren or mermaid. Her song can call and kill a man . Now she has to learn how to control her power. But she is in heat and every man even Malachi and his brother call to her.
But there are more important things then her trying to control her desires . There are evil witches that are after them and are bent on killing them . So Syrinada must find her stone and her song before the demons get her . Will they survive
This is the first mermaid book I have read. I must admit I want to read more. Jessica has taken you on a roller coaster ride. The twists and turns in this book make for a great read.
The characters were well written. Syrinada seemed a bit immature at the beginning but she really grew into herself as the story unfolds. Malachi is one hot alpha man, he is so sexy and dreamy . He can be a very dominate man when he needs to be with Syrinada. Which she needs to be . Loved all the characters in this book.
This book has it all , intrigue, conflict, sexual attraction, The ultimate good versus evil.
We know that sirens are very sexual and boy there was lots of sex in this book, But the author counterbalanced the sex with a great story line, The mystery and suspense kept you turning page after page. Mermaids, sirens and mermen aren't written about very much in paranormal romance, I applaud Jessica Cage for writing a series that is different and intriguing . So for a great summer read check out the first book in a great new series by Jessica Cage.
 Great pool read

KILLER CUPCAKES  by Leighann Dobbs

BOOK BLURB

Things are going great for Lexy Baker. She's finally opened her dream bakery, gotten rid of her cheating boyfriend and settled into her grandmothers house with her perky dog Sprinkles at her side.

But her blissful life doesn't last long. When her ex boyfriend is found poisoned with cupcakes from her bakery, Lexy finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation headed up by her hunky neighbor detective Jack Perillo.

With the help of a gang of iPad toting, would-be detective grandmothers, Lexy decides to take it upon herself to find the real murderer in order to clear her name and get her bakery back in business.

As things heat up on the murder trail, in the kitchen and between Lexy and the hunky detective, it's a race against time to put the real murderer behind bars and get back to baking.

Will Lexy get her man?

MY REVIEW
I found this book as a freebie on amazon. I was looking for a light fun read. I found it with this book. Let me introduce you to Lexy Baker. She is the owner of a great bakery. Has great friends. Has a cute little dog and her grandma is to die for . Grandma is hilarious with her gumshoe friends , who love to solve mysterious with a flick of their I pads. Then there is Joe Perillo the hot cop that lives right behind her. As she finds out after chasing sprinkles all over the place in her pj's . What a way to meet a hot guy , while you are picking up puppy poop .
The murder of Lexy's ex has Joe investigating her and the bakery.  Someone used her cupcakes to murder him. They try and figure out who did it . And trying to clear Lexy's name . Will they be able to figure it out and will Lexy and Joe ever get together
This was a fast read for me. The book was cute and fun to read. The book flowed great and the characters were very likable.  I love grandma Mona and her band of I pad toting grandmas. They were so cute. They helped Lexy out .
This book helped me clear all the cobwebs out of my dark mind. It was the best way to take a reprieve from all the dark characters that have been running around in my brain lately. I am glad I got it . I fell into the cupcake inspired books . The only thing that I have with the book as it was too short. I so wanted it to last just a little bit longer. Not so easy to figure out who did it. But over all the book kept me entertained and reading. I want to read the rest of her books and check out her other series. So if you want a quick , fluffy summer read . While you are at the beach or pool , check them out .

FRIDAY LOVE DAY

Good morning all its Friday woohooooo. Today's book is DANIELS DECISION by Nicole Flockton

BOOK BLURB
Meet Daniel, the fourth of five unforgettable characters in the Emerald Springs Legacy.
Life in the small town of Emerald Springs, Washington, is anything but slow and peaceful. An old feud between former business partners Whitman and Sanders keeps competition on a high burner, fueling resentment, renewing rivalries . . . and love. Now someone is trying to bring down Emerald Tea Farm, and it’s up to both families to protect their future while still wrangling over the past.
Daniel Whitman has a plan to turn the family resort into an exclusive eco-friendly resort, but his family thinks the timing is wrong. Undaunted, he heads off to Australia to investigate an award-winning spa. He’s immediately attracted to marketing manager Rochelle Harris but pushes it aside to concentrate on business.
After growing up with a mother who frittered away every penny her father earned, Rochelle’s only goal is to become financially secure without relying on anyone. Her innovative ideas put her resort at the top of its field, and she doesn’t need a sexy, attractive American distracting her from her plans.
The more time they spend together, the more the attraction grows. Then a disaster back home has consequences even Daniel’s not prepared for. Rochelle is left to pick up the pieces of her shattered dreams. Can either of them start their lives over, or will circumstances beyond their control force them both to take a risk and trust again?

MY REVIEW
This is the fourth book in the series and this is Daniel's book . He is the brother to Chad and Adam. He is running the resort and wants to turn the resort into a eco friendly place . Against the wishes of the family. They don't think it is a very wise idea at the present time. So he takes matters into his own hands and heads off to Australia. He is checking out an award winning spa.  Where is drawn to Rochelle Harris the marketing manager. He is instantly attracted to Rochelle, but like a hard nosed business man , he pushes those feelings aside. To concentrate on getting the resort upgrades .
Rochelle Harris is a hard working marketing exec, that is hiding a secret. She has a single goal of becoming financially secure , all by herself. She is a strong woman that after a life time of mother frittering away all the money. Is standing on her own and making a name for herself. So when Daniel walks into her life she is instantly attracted to him. But she doesn't need the good looking American distracting her from her plan.
But as they spend time together , it is getting harder to deny those feelings. Daniel is starts to fall . But then there is a disaster back home, Daniel tries to persuade Rochelle to come with him. But, she never thought of leaving Australia , even for a man. It was not in the master plan. So she is left to pick up the pieces of a broken heart. They are miserable apart , but will they be open enough to realize that they belong together
I really enjoyed this book . I love all the characters , Daniel really got to me . I was crying and sniffling . There were tears of anguish and tears of joy. Daniel really got to me . He is the middle child and was kind a feeling left out . Adam was taking over the tea company, and engaged . Chad was in love and doing really well at the restaurant. Even his father had found love again. So you really felt for him. He was all business. Rochelle was a great match for him. They both wanted the best and got it. You knew they should be together and you kind a wanted to slap both of them at one point. Screaming at the kindle screen. You are both idiots you belong together . Go to him , get him.
The author puts us through a lot of emotions in this book . But the message of the book is that when love comes into your life , it might be time to bend the rules . Let yourself be open to love. Sometimes it just sneaks up on you.
I would recommend this book for a great summer read at the lake , or by the pool. Check out the whole series , you won't be disappointed . They are a short fun read . The men of Emerald Springs are hot and worth reading about. You will fall in love with everyone of them . I promise

GOOD THURSDAY ALL

Today's book is THE SOURCE by J.D Horn , Its the second book in the Savannah witches series
BOOK SET TO RELEASE JUNE 3RD

BOOK BLURB
Book Two of the Witching Savannah series

Graceful trees and historic buildings fill Savannah, Georgia, but beneath the city's Southern splendor, its supernatural roots run deep. The members of local witch families grace the society pages...when they're not secretly protecting their magical work from dark forces.

Savannah resident Mercy Taylor may now be in control of the South's most powerful family of witches, but she's struggling to master her newfound magic. Pregnant with her first child and still reeling from a heartbreaking betrayal, she just wants to be able to use her supernatural abilities without accidentally destroying dishes or blasting the doors off buildings.

But when Mercy's long-presumed-dead mother suddenly returns, begging Mercy to keep her presence under wraps, the witch wonders how many secrets her family is hiding...and who she can really trust. And when the danger around her intensifies to deadly levels, Mercy knows she must discover the truth behind her family's magic—before it destroys her.

The second book in J.D. Horn's Witching Savannah series, The Source casts a thrilling spell.

MY REVIEW
This is book two in the series. We pick up where book one left off. Mercy is trying to get ahold of her new found powers. Which is kind a difficult with meddling family and a baby on the way. Trying to come to terms that her fiancé had a spell put on her. Then add the pressure of her mother reappearing in Savannah. It is a  wonder the poor Mercy doesn't have a mental breakdown. The secrets are getting out of control. Everyone has their own agenda and then there are the men in her life . Peter the one true love, she knows a secret about him , and Emmett the golem turned man to help her harness her power. They both love her and will do anything to help her.
Mercy is also trying to find out what happened to her sister Maisie. After she disappeared from their sight . She so wants to have her sister back and to forgive her sister for what she did. Her mother coming back just throws everything into chaos. Poor Mercy doesn't know where to turn and who to trust . The only woman that she can trust is mother Jilo. As Mercy tries to figure out who to trust and why her mother is back . She is placed in great danger . Will she and her loved ones survive this or will the dark magic finally take them down,
This book has so many twists and turns. you don't know who to believe and trust as you read . The characters have evolved since the first book. They are so complicated and they keep adding to the story, I really liked the back story of Merxy's family. Especially her father, It added a depth to the story.  You notice that the family is flawed in their own ways in this book. The barriers seem to come down on them this time around
J.D weaves a tale of the fight between good and evil . And you honestly don't know what side the chips are going to land on. Everyone is fighting for their lives and wanting to do what is right, \
I want to tell you guys , you need to read this series . They so remind me of the True Blood series by Charlaine Harris . They are funny and a great read for this summer. J.D Horn is an author that I will be adding to my farourite authors list. I so can't wait for book three .

its hump day weds everyone

Welcome to Wednesday everyone. Today has been busy so far  got a new baby in the pasture . Getting the spring cleaning done . And the most important thing I have  been reading up a storm , getting caught up . I think I actually might be getting there slowly and surely . But I have babbled long enough. Todays book is the BEASTHOOD  by A.Z Greene . A good friend Dianne from Tome Tender recommended this book to me and I was so glad she did . It is a good book

BOOK BLURB
The bloody, raw meat was tantalizing her; calling to her. She hated it and yearned for it all at once.
Stop, she ordered. What are you doing?!
So hungryyyyy, snarled a primal voice deep within her.
Don’t you dare! she screamed back.
But the primal hunger ignored her pleas and took over her body, forcing her rational voice deep within the crevices of her mind.

What would you do if you discovered you weren't human? That you turned into a bloodthirsty monster against your will?
What if your instincts, emotions and desires were torn between your own and the dark, dangerous animal lurking inside of you?
If it could make you yearn for someone you shouldn't, make you say and act in ways you wouldn't and overwhelm your whole existence?
If everything you'd ever known about your life was a lie?

In a world where a deeply hidden community is swathed in mystery, deadly secrets, betrayal and murder, Jaz Barker struggles to fight against the dangerous Beast within her and the emotions and desires it thrusts her way.

When tensions ride high and people she cares about are put in danger, she will have to decide how much of her newly awakened animal-side she's willing to let in.

And if it is worth the risk...

MY REVIEW
This is a book that once you start reading you have a hard time putting it down. This is the first book in the series. I can't believe how action packed this book is . The first part of the book is where we meet Jasmin. A young woman, who had it all , a loving family that adored her and some great friends that were always there for her. Until the day that she woke up covered in blood . Wondering what the hell happened , thinking it was a dream she couldn't figure out where all the blood came from. Scaring her so badly that she was so scared to even close her eyes. She didn't want to fall asleep because of the dreams. She couldn't tell her family or eve her friends about what was going on. She thought she was going crazy until the day her aunt showed up . An aunt that  know one knew of. She tells everyone that she was estranged from Jaz's father and they have put the past behind them and reconciled .  Which is all well and good  for the family. Then she offers to take Jaz with them on a vacation. Which Jaz thinks might help her with her nightmares . Well how wrong she was , this vacation was anything that was expected at all .
Once at Deer Creek poor Jaz is basically being help prisoner in a room. Her aunt claims its for her own good , until they can explain to her about her past and what she is. They tell her that she was adopted and that her parents were a part of the community of Deer Creek.
As she finds out what is lurking inside her. She meets Nik Driver , the sexy hot alpha of the pack . There is a strong, connection between the two of them . But, Nik is connected to Jaz's family in some way. I am really thinking that Jaz could possibly be Nik's mate . Crossing fingers cause they are hot together and I mean hot. Nik is yummy too , trust me you will want him when you read him.
This book was a fast read for me , once I started I couldn't put it down until I was finisher. There are so many twists and turns in this book. The author has a way of letting us go one way and bam we turn in a different direction all together. Trust me there are hidden agendas and mystery and traitors out for no one but themselves. But there is also a lot of good, acceptance strength and maybe a possibility of that one true love . The way Jaz slowly comes to terms with what she is, watching her grow into her new life, she becomes a very strong person.  This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. You will fall in love with Nik and Jaz and what they go through. This is a great twist on the werewolf story I know you will all like . So check her out . I can't wait for book two in the series . The continuation of their story .

L.M Pruitt's book DUTY is live

Good Tuesday everyone out there , hope you are having a good week . Hopefully not as busy as I have been . Its foaling season out here on the ranch, Have had three babies so far. So have had a lot of time to read between baby checks. . I was very lucky to get an advanced copy of DUTY  by L.M Pruitt. I read this book in one day . It is really good

BOOK BLURB
"I looked and behold, a white horse, and who he sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer." Revelation 6:2

After one hundred odd years of peace, the fate of the world once again hangs in limbo.

The First Horseman of the Apocalypse has been released.

The new generation must rise to the challenge before the millennia old dominos start to fall. And the Second Horseman is released.

Where does obligation end--and duty begin?

WARNING: Contains scenes of graphic sex. Reader discretion is advised.

MY REVIEW
I was honored to get this book as an advanced copy of this book. I had it read in one sitting. I couldn't put it down.  It has been a hundred years of peace but the unleashing of the first horseman of the apocalypse, the new generation of warriors must come together and defeat him.  Now they must work together,  Can they defeat the horseman and stop the second horseman from being released. The new generation of warriors revolve around Livvy and Flynn who so did not want to be called back into action . They were liking their lives as they were. But, having Joanne as a mother and Micheal and Raphael as her fathers. She goes back and starts training the new recruits. Trying to stay away from Angus, how has her heart . And then he broke it into a million pieces. As they tiptoe around each other, they still have to work together. Livvy goes through men in her life trying to do anything to keep Angus at arms length.  Working through everything and taking down the horseman is all in a days work for these extraordinary people.
This is the 7th book in the WINGED  series. L.M doesn't disappoint you in any way. She takes us on a ride . Between the beginning of the end of the world, yet again, and all the bed hopping that is going on. You will love every page. My thoughts on Livvy , is she is the splitting image of her mother in everyway.  She is tough but does have some insecurities about her love life. She knows she wants Angus but he is just being all dominant and I think he is hiding some feelings that he doesn't want to Livvy to see.  The characters are so well written , L.M puts you right in the middle of it all. There are some BDSM  aspects to the book . The men in Livvy's life are dominant , or in one man's case trying to be a dominant. What Philip did to Livvy was just wrong in a way . You will know what scene I am talking about when you get to it. I would be wanting to kill someone , just saying hehehehehehehehehehe.
This book has come around to a new generation. I can't wait to read more about Livvy . Flynn. Brian and the rest of the group. L.M has a great series going on and I really hope it goes for  awhile yet.  I really recommend this book to anyone who loves arch angels and warriors , sex and the end of the world . So check her out and read the series . You so won't be disappointed.
Duty is live today so don't be shy check it out

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ALL

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE. Wow had such a busy weekend. Celebrated my birthday and today relaxing with my fur babies . I just finished a very beautifully written book today.
HORSE LOVER, A COWBOY'S QUEST TO SAVE THE WILD MUSTANG. by Alan Day

BOOK BLURB
He already owned and managed two ranches and needed a third about as much as he needed a permanent migraine: that’s what Alan Day said every time his friend pestered him about an old ranch in South Dakota. But in short order, he proudly owned 35,000 pristine grassy acres. The opportunity then dropped into his lap to establish a sanctuary for unadoptable wild horses previously warehoused by the Bureau of Land Management. After Day successfully lobbied Congress, those acres became Mustang Meadows Ranch, the first government-sponsored wild horse sanctuary established in the Un
The Horse Lover is Day’s personal history of the sanctuary’s vast enterprise, with its surprises and pleasures and its plentiful dangers, frustrations, and heartbreak. Day’s deep connection with the animals in his care is clear from the outset, as is his maverick philosophy of horse-whispering, with which he trained fifteen hundred wild horses. The Horse Lover weaves together Day’s recollections of his cowboying adventures astride some of his best horses, all of which taught him indispensable lessons about loyalty, perseverance, and hope. This heartfelt memoir reveals the Herculean task of balancing the requirements of the government with the needs of wild horses

MY REVIEW
This is the book that every horse lover should read. It is the memoir of Alan Day and his attempt to save the unadoptable wild mustangs.  A horse lover and rancher , Alan decides to turn a ranch in South  Dakota into a sanctuary for these wonderful beautiful animals. So thus the Mustang Meadows Ranch was born . The first ever government run sanctuary.
I couldn't put this book  down. I was so wrapped up in the story of the mustangs . The story might of been a memoire of Alan but I also believe that this book is a memoire of the wild mustangs that were so much of his life for those five years. To hear the thundering of all those hooves would be soul changing. To entwine their story with  Alan's story was nothing but beautiful. You feel the love that Alan has for all the horses that have come into his life. The horses have played such an pivotal role in shaping the way Alan trained them. He was horse whispering before Horse whispering was all the rage.  The memories of his interactions of his horses through out his life fit right in. I want a Saber and an Aunt Jamima in my life . Those horses were all heart and soul.
But I will say there were some very sad parts in this book that had me , as a horse lover. crying buckets of tears. I know how Alan felt when he had to do something that was entirely against everything he was trying to do on the ranch. I almost couldn't read that part it broke my heart. But I did and understood every feeling he had . When he had to do it.
This memoire has reclaimed my passion for all horses . How I want to capture the horses on film to keep their proud and beautiful spirits free. Before they are no more around.  I want to thank Mr Alan Day for writing this book . You wove magic with your words . You took me on an adventure . I was cheering and crying right along with your words. As a horse lover and breeder , I just want to say again thank you .
So if you have a horse lover in your midst , you need to get them this book. Trust me you will not be disappointed in this book . You will fall in love with the mustangs ,you will giggle at some antics, feel the frustration and cry tears . You won't be disappointed

IT IS FRIDAY EVERYONE HAPPY FRIDAY

The world’s most prized violin becomes the centerpiece of intrigue as FBI Special Investigator Chris Clarke and his partner Carlos “Chubbs” Gonzales weave their way through a maze containing a notorious assassin, Illuminati, secret documents, a master violin forger and his deceptive and charismatic daughter, a Hollywood film producer and one of L.A.’s finest and most neurotic sneak-thieves.

The chase across two continents resolves in an art gallery in the South of France for a shocker of an ending.

FBI Special Investigator Chris Clarke doesn’t like “…anything or anyone” in his way while working a case. In his seventeen years with the Bureau, he has dealt with everything from retrieving stolen works of art to tackling some of the world’s biggest scumbags.

With his diverse background of art evaluation and Desert Storm duty, Chris Clarke is ready for all comers. Only one fugitive haunts his thoughts: the notorious and ruthless assassin known only as “The Man in Black," whose trail of contract killings had never led law enforcement to anything but a figure lurking in the shadows.

One morning in August 2010, the “man in black” suddenly popped up, seen by witnesses in Cremona, Italy to have been in the area where a young violinist was found dead with his throat cut. Chris Clarke and Gonzales head off to Europe to track down the assassin while attempting to decode the mystery that lies behind the motive.

Weeks before, Hollywood movie-mogul Max Pendleton, who loves fine works of art, no matter how they are acquired, hires veteran sneak-thief Gus Edward Happy to fly to Europe and steal the most valuable violin in existence—the famed violin coveted by the Jimi Hendrix of the nineteenth century, Niccolo Paganini--thought to be in league with the devil because his genius was unexplainable in earthly terms.

Through a tangled web involving Illuminati, secret documents in the possession of Paganini at his death, a master violin forger and his deceptive daughter, thieves, and assassins, Clarke faces the challenge of his career as he and his partner Gonzales move across Italy to the South of France where pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place with the Devil’s Violin center stage, leading to a rapid-fire conclusion.

MY REVIEW
The world’s most prized violin becomes the centerpiece of intrigue as FBI Special Investigator Chris Clarke and his partner Carlos “Chubbs” Gonzales weave their way through a maze containing a notorious assassin, Illuminati, secret documents, a master violin forger and his deceptive and charismatic daughter, a Hollywood film producer and one of L.A.’s finest and most neurotic sneak-thieves. As the story progresses we follow Chris and Carlos through the streets in Europe to Southern California. To find the Man in Black and track down the Devil's violin,
This book had me hooked by page three. I admit it I was reading far into the night. Mr. Johnson had me guessing and second guessing my way through this book . Between the history of the violin and the intrigue. The mixture of the sacred documents that come up and then throw in the Illuminate and you are going to go on the ride of your life. Which is exactly what happened when I was reading it. The book moves so fast and the characters are so well written , You can't help but cheer for the main characters.
The characters are all bound one way or another to each other , as they cross paths with the ill fated violin. You can feel their desperation and what they need to get done to survive . The man in black is just evil , you cheer for Chris and Carlos as they unravel the mystery. You want to figure it out as badly as Chris does .
So if you love tightly written novels full of intrigue and mystery this is the book is for you . I am so happy that I took the chance on this book. I want to read more from this author. If the first book is any indication , we are going to be reading great things from this author . I hope that you all take a chance on this book . You will not be disappointed and you will have fun trying to find out who , what and where .

great new book series by J.D Horn

Good morning everyone. Welcome to Thursday. The day before the day before the weekend. It is also mother's day weekend and more important it is my birthday this weekend. So it will be party time for this girl. lol
I will probably be reading all weekend . So here I am to  talk about a great new series that I have found and absolutely love . THE LINE  by J.D Horn

BOOK BLURB
Move over, Sookie Stackhouse—the witches of Savannah are the new talk of the South. Bold, flirty, and with a touch of darkness, debut author J.D. Horn spins a mesmerizing tale of a family of witches . . . and the problem that can arise from being so powerful. As Charlaine Harris’ series winds down—and as Deborah Harkness’ series heats up—Witching Savannah is new contemporary fantasy that will be sure to enchant new readers.

Mercy Taylor, the youngest member of Savannah’s preeminent witching family, was born without the gift of magic. She is accustomed to coming in a distant second to the minutes older, exquisite and gifted twin she adores. Hopelessly in love with her sister’s boyfriend, she goes to a Hoodoo root doctor for a love spell. A spell that will turn her heart to another man, the best friend who has loved her since childhood.

Aunt Ginny, the family’s matriarch, would not approve. But Mercy has more to worry about than a love triangle when Aunt Ginny is brutally murdered. Ginny was the Taylor family’s high commander in the defense of the bewitched line that separates humankind from the demons who once ruled our realm.

A demon invasion looms now that the line is compromised. Worse yet, some within the witching world stand to gain from a demon takeover. Mercy, entangled in the dark magic of her love spell, fighting for her sister’s trust, and hopelessly without magic, must tap the strength born from being an outcast to protect the line she doesn’t feel a part of...

In this riveting contemporary fantasy, Horn delivers the full betrayal, blood, and familial discord of the best of Southern gothic.

MY REVIEW
Move over Sookie there is a new girl in tow. Let me introduce you to Mercy Taylor , part of the Taylor witches of  Savannah. She is the normal girl in the family a set of fraternal twins . She has now powers what so ever. So she thinks. Mercy is torn between two men, the man she has grown up with and her sister's boyfriend. So off to see Jilo, the local hoodoo priestess . For a love spell to make her feeling for Peter stronger , and get rid of the feelings for Jackson . She suddenly she finds out her grandmother, Ginny is dead. Someone murdered her.  As her life is turned upside down .  She is entangled in a dark spell and the fighting the growing distrust in her sister.  As things heat up she is in danger from all sides and needs to keep everything straight and survive the aftermath.
I adored this book. I was page turning well into the night. J.D was weaved a magical story of family and magic. The closeness of the witches and what they will go through to keep them together. Mercy is a heroine that you just feel for. She has had it hard her entire life . Things have been taken from her and kept from her. When she finds out the truth, she is literally blown away. The way it is written you have fun trying to figure out what is going on and who do you believe. Trust me I really wanted to strangle Maisie about half way through the book. She just is evil in my opinion. You would have to draw your own conclusion on that. You actually start to like the old hoodoo priestess Jilo. She seems like the only one that Mercy can trust.  She tells like it like it is .
J.D  can deliver a great story of gothic proportions , betrayal , black magic, blood and family disfunction in the only the way the South can do it. So if you like Charlaine Harris and the Sookie Series, Check out Mercy and the witches of Savannah. This will be a great summer read for anyone who loves witches. So make it you beach read this summer
