HAPPY HALLOWEEN

HAPPY HALLOWEEN  everyone , hope you are having a great day so far and you get lots of little trick and treaters tonight . For you Halloween reading we have a great little novella for you THE IRISHMAN (A Legacy series book 7) by Sherritta Bitikofer

                   BOOK BLURB

Dustin Keith only wants two things in life; to have fun and marry his childhood sweetheart. When he finally wins the approval of her traditional father, he thinks that things couldn't get better. But when what should have been a blissful wedding night turns into a walking nightmare, Dustin must come to grips with a part of himself that harkens back to the old-world superstitions that he thought he could leave behind when he said his vows. After shifting for the first time into a faoladh - werewolf - Dustin flees from his homeland and washes up on the shores of France, where an alpha and his family take him in to nurse him back to health. But Dustin couldn't completely escape Ireland and danger follows him all the way to Darren Dubose's homestead.

                   MY REVIEW
This is the seventh book in the series but trust me you can read it as a stand alone . We finally get to dive deep into Dustin's back story and we find out so much about him. All he wants to do is marry his childhood sweetheart and live a good life. Well you know things don't happen as they should and on his wedding night the unthinkable happens, that start a chain of effects that bring back some old world superstitions and part of him that he thought he could hide . What can a werewolf do after his first shift is to run and find more of his kind . When he ends up in France things change when the Alpha takes him in to help him and nurse him back to health But will he survive the danger that is coming to claim him.
I have loved Dustin's character from the very first time I met him . He has also been one of those characters that you so want to know more about . He was such a mystery that the author now brings to light . He past has been shrouded We see him as a carefree man in love which is so much fun to read . He is still strong and tough and wants what he wants but you do see a gentler side to him . You see him struggle along the way also and how he uses his past to help him in the future . When you see him in France you see him as part of a family .  You will fall in love with him and the rest of the pack .
This is book 7 in the series but you can read this as a stand alone. The author takes us on a great ride . There is history of the main character and you see the struggles they went through . The characters are well written and complex . The story is very captivating . I started this book in the afternoon and had it done in a couple of hours . I have read this authors other books , not in order I will say . I have had no trouble following the story lines at all . This is a sad story but the author turns it into a happy story by the time you are done reading . I would add this book to your Halloween reading list and read it tonight .

WELCOME TO TUESDAY ALL

Welcome to Tuesday all , today we have a thriller for you by a new author to me . AMATEUR (The Dorsia Series book one ) by Chad Bishop

                            BOOK BLURB

When Isabella Nunez, hacker for hire, announced she was going straight, offers poured out from every development team and government think tank in America.
When her friend offered her an anonymous position where she would be treated normally and no knew about her past she jumped on the opportunity.
Then she met Brian Hamilton. They shared company jokes and then started to play in the company’s system. Before long Isabella would find out she wasn’t as anonymous as she thought and Brian’s attention has less to do with her and more to do with becoming a hacker for hire again.

                       MY REVIEW
This is the first book about hacking I have read and I must say that I truly enjoyed the mystery and intrigue of the book . When Isabella Nunez decided to go straight and give up hacking she gets job opportunities from every corporate development team and think tank in America . But when she starts a job that she thought was anonymous she finds out that she wasn't a hidden as she thought and the man who hired her isn't really as to like as she thought .
This book had me on the edge of my seat all the way through . The author did a great job with the characters . They are well written and complex. Isabella is great at what she does and has proven it over and over. She is strong willed and even keeled but don't get her mad you will not like it . Now Brian is a character that you can't really trust . He seems like a really nice guy but there is something that is hiding just under the surface that you just can't trust him or anything he says
This was a fast read for me and it packed a lot into the story line . The twists and turns alone will have you hooked . The plot was great cause you know it could happen at anytime in real life . The author has a great grasp of the concept and the only thing I wish was just a little longer so the characters could be flushed out just a little bit more . Other then that I truly enjoyed this book and would love to read more from this author

Lucy’s hope for normal in her dysfunctional family will never happen and things only get worse when Mark’s snooty parents drop a bombshell that will only spark more insanity from The Crazy Rich Davenport family.

Hold on for the ride and laughter that ensues.

                       MY REVIEW
This is a warning be prepared to laugh and you will snort and laugh some more . Lets meet the Davenports. Lucy who's husband died awhile ago and the family has gone down hill since then . When plans to throw  a birthday party for her half sister things , well lets just say that things don't go as planned . Will Lucy ever get the family she wants or will the bombshell dropped Mark's parents send everyone into even more chaos .
I must say when I started this book I couldn't help but laugh the characters are hilarious . Poor Lucy all she wants is a family that isn't so dysfunctional. She is still trying to find her feet after her husband's death . She is the mother of 6 and has buried her feeling in countless men and many bottles of liquor . She is so funny and honestly you just want to wrap her up in a blanket and tell her everything will be ok . She tries to rein in her kids but kind of fails at it . You guys will love her . OH and then there is grandma or yaya . You will love her , she is one sharp old lady that doesn't really care what anyone thinks of her . She is a bright wig wearing contraband selling lady that rules the nursing home with her little blue pills . Then the other character I absolutely fell in love with is Daisy , Lucy's nurse . She is the one that cracked me up the most cause let me tell you . You honestly don't know what you are getting with her . She has multiply personalities and you honestly don't know what personality is going to come out at what time . She is so cool to read, especially when she is  slutty Poppy .
There are so many characters in this story that will have you laughing so hard . You will have to pick your favourite on your own.
When you dive into this book , its like a train wreck and you just have to find out what the heck is going on . The authors take us on one hilarious adventure with such wonderfully written characters . Each characters personality just jumps off the page and you can't get enough of them . For all this books zaniness and hilarity . There are some deeper things that are going on with the characters . That you get to see as you get deeper into the book . What drives them to do the things they do and the consequences for their wackiness. I would love to spend five minutes in the authors brain just to see how they came up with all of this wackiness  Oh yeah fyi there is a lot of dropping the f bomb and sexual content in this book so if those bother you . It might not be the book for you .But if you like the wackiness and don't mind the sexual content and f bombs you will love this book. Take a chance on this book you will love the train wreck and maybe help you realize that your family is a lot better off then you think . LOL . So if you want a laugh out loud book check it out and add it to your winter reading list .

WELCOME TO MONDAY

Welcome to a rainy Monday here , today we have a cute novella for you today by a new author to me . FRENCH ROAST ( The French Twist series book 4) by Glynis Astie

                            BOOK BLURB

Sydney Durand, the quirky yet lovable heroine of the French Twist series, is back for one final installment in a very special novella.

As the wife of a gorgeous and romantic Frenchman and the mother of the most angelic boy ever, Sydney is living a life of sheer perfection. She’s gone through quite a bit to achieve this charmed life, and now nothing is going to bring her down. Or so she thinks.

Just when Sydney’s happiness is at its height, an unexpected event throws her life into chaos, threatening her happily ever after. With her tight-knit family in danger of falling apart, she suddenly finds herself longing for the days of dating disasters and unsolicited (and embarrassing!) advice from her wise-cracking father. At least those humiliations would be easier to take than the devastation now enveloping her heart.

Will she be able to find the strength her parents have always fought to instill in her, or will she spiral into the void of her always-lurking anxiety? Sydney’s challenge is to survive...or roast...

                           MY REVIEW
Welcome to the world of Sydney and her happy family .  She is living the life a charmed life , after going through so much before she got this loving life . Until the day her life is turned upside down . Will she have the strength to carry on or will her world come undone and will she spiral down into the anxiety that is always lurking in the background .
This is a quick read with some really great characters . Sydney is such a great girl , she is plagued with anxiety and tries so hard every day to fight it . She is flawed but also really strong . I truly liked her as a character . She reminds me of someone I know .  She is really relatable . The funniest character I love is dad . He is brass and funny and speaks his mind all the time ,  Karen the oldest in the family is Sydney's rock and has her back when she needs its . I must say all the characters in this story are good and are well written
This novella really showcases the family dynamics and how they are there for you when you really need them . I shed so many tears in this book both happy and sad . The author really takes the characters and puts them through the ringer. You feel that you know these people , well actually your family could be these characters . Trust me I thought of my family when I was ready this book . Cause we are all dysfunctional.  This book makes me want to go back and read the rest of the series to see what I have been missing . So if you want a good read with happy and sad tears and about a family that will be there for each other through thick and thin . This is the novella for you . So add it to your winter reading list

                           MY REVIEW
This is a sweet story of two headstrong pastry chefs working in a small restaurant and the love that blossoms between them . Lili has been working the past six years as the main pastry chef in a 3 star restaurant . Until the day she is told that she doesn't fit the corporate image of the restaurant . When she is down and thinking that no one would want a curvy girl as a pastry chef . She gets a call that will change her life and hopefully will bring her the love she deserves . Conrad who has been working at Sweet Blooms is head strong and loves working in the restaurant . Together will they either kill each other or will love bloom .
The characters in this story are sweet . Lili is a curvy girl who loves to create pastries . She seems to me a little down on herself and she is way too hard on herself . You do see her grow and blossom while she is working with Conrad .  Conrad is a sweet guy who would love to be the head pastry chef . He has fallen for the pretty co chef and wonders what would happen if. He is a really nice guy sometimes too nice . But to me the best character in the book is grandma . She is hilarious and loves to give her two cents to everyone .The way she tells it is so funny she is always just letting everyone find their own way . The characters are well written but I do think the author could of added a bit more depth to them .
This was a sweet fast read for me I read it in an afternoon . The author takes us on a nice ride . The characters are sweet and the story is sweet . There is an attraction but the author lets it build slowly .  I truly liked the story but what stopped me from really liking it was the fact that the author could of built up the story line just a bit. He could of went in a little deeper into each of the characters and gave them a little bit more of a back story. It did seem a little flat in a few areas . Over all I loved the story and would read more from this author . So if you want a sweet story of love and pastries this book should be added to your winter reading list

HAPPY SATURDAY ALL

Happy Saturday today we have another sweet book for your middle school children . Welcome to FAE WISH by Theresa Oliver

                            BOOK BLURB

Tiny or tall, brave or small—it is the size of our hearts that matter at all …

Legend tells that deep in the Land of Cambria, in the heart of the Magical Forest, a tiny race of enchanted beings, no bigger than a butterfly, still call the forest their home. Hidden away from the prying eyes of humans, these magical fairies keep their magic a secret from those who would use it for evil. Yet after thousands of years in hiding, the secret of the fairies is about to come out…

For young Raine, being a princess of the Magical Forest means duty before desire, and her fate to marry a fairy of her father’s choosing becomes a bit more complicated when she accidentally falls for Bryce—a human. In a desperate plea to be with the man she loves, Raine seeks the aid of Vitra, the Dragon Queen of the Dark Forest, in order to become a human and catch Bryce’s eye.

Blinded by true love and guided by destiny, Raine’s journey will jeopardize those she is sworn to protect and leave the fate of the Magical Forest to the evil forces at play. Can she save her kingdom from darkness? Or will she give up her heart’s true desire in order to realize her destiny?

                      MY REVIEW
This a sweet tale of fairies no bigger then a butterfly that guard the forest deep in the land of Cambria . They have been in hiding for centuries from the humans that would use their magic . But one little fairy Raine is about to change all of that . When she meets Bryce a human her life becomes just a bit more complicated . Will she be able to keep her kingdom safe and follow her dream of loving Bryce . Or will she give up her true love to realize her destiny.
The characters in this story are sweet , sometimes too sweet . Raine is a brave fairy who just wants to bring the fairies out and fall in love . She kind of looses her way a bit but she realizes that she can be both a fairy and be in love with Bryce . She really grows as you read the story. Bryce is like her prince charming their to protect her and keep her safe . He sometimes comes off over sweet but you will love him anyway .  They are a sweet couple and really work well together.
This would be a book that my great niece would love . It is sweet and has fairies and love .  The author takes us on a magical journey full of hope and love . There is one thing that kind of hand me a little hesitant to give it more stars . Was I gave me the feeling of another Disney movie  the little mermaid but with fairies . Over all I really enjoyed the story and I am going to get a copy for my niece . So if you have a daughter that loves fairies this is the book for you . Add it to their winter reading list .

WOOOHOOOO ITS FRIDAY

Welcome to Friday all today we have a good book for your middle school kids and for those who are kids at heart . A HORSE NAMED DOG by Theresa Oliver

                            BOOK BLURB

Synopsis: Sam is a typical twelve-year-old boy who works on his parent’s farm, but is not as interested in horses as his horse-training family. However, he does his best to help out until an incident when he is riding with his mother. After saving her from becoming nearly trampled, his viewpoint changes … until a strange horse comes to their farm with quirks, earning him the name Dog.

Dog likes Sam right away, but Sam wants nothing to do with him, as he is the son of Trumpeter, the horse that nearly maimed his mother for life. Sam has a hard time dealing with not only the memory of the accident, but the extra chores and responsibilities suddenly thrust upon him, one of which is training Dog.

Because his mother is out of work and people are canceling orders, money is scarce. With the Indiana Classic coming up—a local horse race with a huge purse—will Sam be able to befriend Dog and save their farm, or will Dog go back to his present owner, never to be seen again?

Find out in Theresa Oliver’s first pre-teen novel, A Horse Named Dog.

"Theresa Oliver’s young people’s novel, A Horse Named Dog, is a compassionate story about connections: between boy and horse, boy and parents, boy and the world around him. It also addresses concerns about dealing with problems and overcoming fears, no matter how justifiable these fears might be. Sam connects with the horse named Dog. Sam has a positive connection with both of his parents, although he does challenge his dad’s insistence that Sam helps with the horse training after his mother’s accident that leaves her laid up for some time. Sam is also capable of expressing his opinions, both to his parents and to mean horse trainers who try to take Dog away from him. But the most compassionate connection is between the boy and the horse.

This is a touching story. It opens the heart to human-animal bonding and parent-child bonding. ... The story as a whole is very endearing." ~ Readers' Favorite

                       MY REVIEW
This is a touching story of a boy and the horse that brought a family together . When Sam and his mom decided to go for a ride , who knew that the day would go the way it did . After his mother gets bucked off and trampled by a horse . Sam has to find his courage to get his mom away from the horse and home . He is the hero that gets his mom home but in the process he gets hurt also . Now he is scared of horses and wants nothing to do with them . Until the day dog shows up on the farm to be trained, they bond and help heal each other . He saves dog a few times through out the book and the bond grows stronger. He starts to trust again and help his family out .
The characters in this story are sweet and you will fall in love with dog . He is the kind of horse that will fall in love with you and do anything you ask . He is a sweet horse that will steal your heart . Sam is a sweet kid who in the face of danger steps up and becomes the man that his mom needs . He is also still a kid that is shouldering a lot of pain after what happened on the ride. He is also scared and trying to act tough . He really does grow up as you read the story . He becomes a great horseman and a great trainer .
I really enjoyed this story even though it was written for middle school kids. I am a horse girl so any story with a horse in it I will read. The story is enjoyable and you will get a kick out of dog . There are just a few things that had me just a little off  a couple of spelling errors but you will probably read right over them . Also the actions of dog kind of had me baffled for a bit. Over all I loved the story it shows us that animals understand us more then we realize . They are a comfort to be with in bad times and good times . So this is a story for your kids this winter . Check it out .

WELCOME TO THURSDAY

Welcome to Thursday all , today we are going to review EMMA AND THE BANDER WIGH by Mathew Cox.

                            BOOK BLURB

Ten-year-old Emma doesn’t believe in faerie tales or monsters that secret children away in the night—until she meets one.

She lives in a quiet village at the edge of Widowswood with her parents, her Nan, and her little brother, Tam. Ready to abandon the whimsy of childhood, she finds the boredom of chores comforting and Nan’s fanciful bedtime stories silly.

One morning, a wan and weary older girl staggers out of the woods and sets the entire town aflutter with whispers of a child-stealing monster lurking in the forest. Nan tells her of the Banderwigh: a dark soul who feeds on sorrow and drains the life from children’s tears.

Darkness comes calling on Emma’s happy home, threatening the reality to which she desperately clings. The impossible becomes more and more real, forcing Emma to reach inside herself for the ability to believe. Her family depends on it.

                          MY REVIEW

What do you do when you are only ten and don't believe in fairy tales that is what is happening to Emma . She lives with her family outside the small village. and one day a  young girl comes out of the woods talking of a child stealing monster lurking monster . When the darkness comes calling what is Emma to do . She needs to reach deep inside herself to save her family ,
I really like the characters in this story, Emma is a sweet character trying to grow up . But you see her grow up and become more . She is strong and sweet and really wants to help others . She is a great problem solver for others  and really likes to help . Nan is a fun character too she tries to keep Emma from growing up too fast and her stories
The author takes us on epic fantasy journey that anyone from middle grade to adults . The story is well written and the characters are complex.  This is a story of growing up and becoming more then just a child . The story starts a little slow but with all the twists and turns the author takes us on an epic adventure .  I truly love this authors way of writing and the stories he tells . This would be a great series for a snowy night by the fire . Both adults and kids would love it . Check it out

GOOD TUESDAY ALL

Good Tuesday all , today we are going to review a new author to me Sarah Fine and her book MARKED (Servants of Fate book one )

                             BOOK BLURB

In a broken landscape carved by environmental collapse, Boston paramedic Cacia Ferry risks life and limb on the front lines of a fragile and dangerous city. What most don’t know—including her sexy new partner, Eli Margolis—is that while Cacy works to save lives, she has another job ferrying the dead to the Afterlife. Once humans are “Marked” by Fate, the powerful Ferrys are called to escort the vulnerable souls to either eternal bliss or unending fire and pain.
Unaware of Cacy’s other life, Eli finds himself as mesmerized by his fierce and beautiful partner as he is mistrustful of the influential Ferry clan led by the Charon—who happens to be Cacy’s father. Cacy, in turn, can no longer deny her intense attraction to the mysterious ex-Ranger with a haunted past. But just as their relationship heats up, an apparent hit takes the Charon before his time. Shaken to the core, Cacy pursues the rogue element who has seized the reins of Fate, only to discover that Eli has a devastating secret of his own. Not knowing whom to trust, what will Cacy have to sacrifice to protect Eli—and to make sure humanity’s future is secure?

                       MY REVIEW
What would you do if you are living in the world after an environmental collapse . If you are Boston paramedic Cacia Ferry you work to save the precious few that need it and ferry the dead to the afterlife . Yes she is a grim reaper and part of the powerful Ferry family . She has a new partner in sexy Eli Margolis . As they work together they find out they are attracted to each other and want to know more . But when he father is taken before his time . Sets Cacy and Eli on a collision course with a rogue element and what will the sacrifice to keep humanity safe.
This is the first novel I have read and I must say the characters are very intriguing and well written . Cacy is one of those characters that is strong and yet sensitive at the same time. She is tough as tough can be as an ex ranger and paramedic . She has to be for what she does she is tough but her family is still treating her like the little sister . I truly liked her as a character the only draw back is that we didn't get to seem much of her back ground .  Eli is hot and sexy and just as strong as Cacy there are things about him that we don't know and hope to find out. He is the type of guy who would be there for you when you need it . There are some evil characters that keep coming after them .  They are constantly on the run .
The author takes us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions . There are some great twists and turns that will keep you reading , There is romance in the book the author builds on it slowly . At first it is all about jumping each others bones .  There is only one little thing that bothers me that we don't get a lot of their back ground on them . Other then the awkwardness of the build up to sex it was a great story . I like the premiss and the story read good . I got sucked in and started caring for Cacy and Eli . So if you want a good story for a winter evening that is a fun read . This is the book for you check it out

WOW IT S THURSDAY

Welcome to Thursday all , today I have a very emotional book for your weekend . Be prepared for heartbreak with NEVER BE ALONE by Paige Dearth

                           BOOK BLURB

Young Joon's parents died, her foster family is dangerous, homelessness is her only option.
Joon had a good life with her parents--she was loved and cared for the way all eight-year-olds should be. Then, one horrible day, her parents died, and she was put into the foster care system.
When Joon is placed with a single mother, Aron, and her two sons, nothing could have prepared her for the cruelty and brutality she would be subjected to over the next four years. When things escalate and her foster brother Deen threatens her, Joon takes to the streets to escape the viciousness of her foster family and start her life over.
On the streets, Joon finally finds comfort with a group of homeless teenagers. But things are never what they seem, and there is always a price to pay for safety on the streets. NEVER BE ALONE is a story of homelessness but hopefulness, as Joon's relentless determination eventually helps her find her place in the world and make a difference.

                            MY REVIEW
This book is intense and heartbreaking . Joon had a great life with her parents until the day they are killed and she is left an orphan .  When she is put in foster care and sent to live with a single mother and her two sons , Poor Joon isn't ready for what will happen to her living with these people . The abuse they do her . When she is at her lowest and after Dean the son threatens her . She does the unthinkable and takes to the street to live . Where she finds a group of friends that will help her and keep her safe . But there is one rule on the street NEVER BE ALONE  and there is always a price to pay . Will Joon find her place in the world to be happy and safe.
This story will break your heart trust me on that one . The characters are so well written and you will want to wrap Joon up in a warm blanket and hug her tight . She is a tough cookie but she wasn't always that way . At first she could come off as a little naïve but she grows up fast . She is a fighter and doesn't let anything or anyone get in her way . She wants to be somewhere safe and secure  where no one would hurt her ever again There are many people that come into Joon's life that help her in ways that keep her safe . Tony and Vincent make an appearance in this book and they help Joon out a lot.
This is a gritty story that will rip out your heart more times then you can count . There are so many twists and turns through out this book . What I truly liked about this story is that is so true and current to what is going on in the world right now This book isn't for the faint of heart . You will cry and your heart will shatter over and over again . I admit I actually had to put the book down a couple of times because my heart just couldn't take it . Like all the authors works the characters are driven to be better and want to do better . So if you want to have your heart ripped out and then have it repaired . This is the book for you . ITS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART THOUGH .

                            BOOK BLURB

SECRETS – Web of Sin book 1

The twisted and intriguing storytelling that you loved in Consequences and Infidelity is coming back at you with an all-new alpha anti-hero in the dark romance series Web of Sin, by New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig.

I’m Sterling Sparrow. You’ve no doubt heard my name or read it on the top of tall buildings. There’s more to my business—my realm—than what is seen aboveground.

Within the underbelly of one of America’s largest cities lives a world where a man’s word is either his most valuable tool or his most respected weapon. When my father ruled that world and that city, he promised me someone who would one day make my reign complete.

Since that day, long ago, Araneae McCrie has been mine.

She just didn’t know.

My father is now gone.

The city and the underbelly are now mine.

The time has come for me to collect who was promised to me, to shred her life of secrets and make her who she’s always been—mine.

Have you been Aleatha’d?

*Secrets is book one of the Web of Sin trilogy.

                         MY REVIEW
What do you do when you are whisked away from your family when you are a young girl and told never to come back to Chicago. That is what happened to Areneae McCrie . When she was whisked away with a new identity  Now a successful business woman in Boulder Colorado . She is part owner of Silken Threads with her best friend . When there are things happening in Chicago and Areneae aka Kennedy has to head their to figure out why product is missing . She is brought back to her past and the sexy strange man that says she is his . What is a girl to do when he takes control of her life with a promise of her past and a part of his future . Will she survive or be his downfall
Let me introduce you to Sterling Sparrow. He is tall , controlling and oh so sexy . He is the heir to a mass fortune but there is a dark side to him . He has been through so much from an over bearing father to time in the army . He is now the head of Sparrow enterprises and in complete control. Ladies trust me he will make your heart speed up . But you know with this author , there is always more to her characters then meets the eye . That is also true for Sterling and you will love and hate him at the same time .
Areneae aka Kennedy is well she isn't naïve but she is a little not really worldly. She has been through so much in her life . Being yanked away from her family and given a new identity . At the beginning you just want to wrap her up in a warm blanket and keep her safe . But you see her start to grow and get sassy with Sterling . Just like all her characters she is stronger then she then she lets on .  I truly like theses characters . They are great one on one but together they will be unstoppable
This is the first book in a brand new series for this author . She really can write dark romance . I was hooked by the end of chapter one . Besides a smoldering sexy couple . There is mystery and intrigue as we piece together their history .  I couldn't put it down , I had tears in my eyes a few times and had to fan myself a lot of the time .  I must say I love Aleatha's dark side , she puts the alpha in men . I truly enjoyed this first book in the new series . Yes it did end in a cliff hanger but that's ok I know she won't keep us waiting too long . So if you want a sexy new series that will keep you hanging on every word . This is the book series for you . First book coming out on October 30

HAPPY TUESDAY ALL

Happy Tuesday all , I hope all my Canadian readers had a great long Thanks giving weekend and you are all recouping nicely . Today we are going to go a different route and review a cool graphic novel I found read and actually forgot about . I reread it today and fell in love with it again . THE DAMNED Volume 1 by Cullen Bunn

                            BOOK BLURB

During prohibition, gangsters grew rich on our vices, and rivalries between criminal organizations resulted in open war. But unknown to the masses, a more sinister power controlled the crime cartels, using greed, gluttony, lust and other sins to fuel a more lucrative trade: mortal souls. Enter Eddie, a mortal who lost his soul long ago. Caught in the middle of competing demonic families, any other human would've gotten the ax long ago. But Eddie's got a special talent that keeps him on his feet. One man's curse is another man's gift. THE DAMNED is hard-boiled noir with demons, and the team behind THE SIXTH GUN is bringing it back with new colors, a new format, and a new ongoing tale of tommy guns and hellfire.

                         MY REVIEW

This book is set in Prohibition times in America . Where crime organizations are controlling most of the alcohol coming in . There are rivalries and wars going on between all of them . But what people don't know there is a more sinister power is controlling the crime organizations . With greed and gluttony running rampant . Poor Eddie enters the world the only man who has lost his soul to the devil a long time ago. The only thing that is keeping him alive is his special talent .This is a dark noir book that will keep you reading .
This book is dark and so well written . You really start to care for Eddie . He is one poor tortured soul that is caught between two rival crime families . He is basically a fixer and his gift is that he can't die or can't stay dead for long . You really start to feel for him . You want to take him in your arms and hug him . You will either like him or hate him its your choice . There are also femme fatale which really isn't as fatale as you think . There are also the hangers on who really just want to be there . You will like some of them . The right hand men of the demon bosses . There are characters that you will really like and those you will hate and those that will bend your mind
The story is dark and the illustrations match the story line so well . I have seen the novel in black and white and I love it in the colour. The colour adds to the story . The story is well written and you just can't put it down . There are demons and people and they take you on a eerie rollercoaster ride . Where you will feel the pain of the humans involved and you have a love hate relationship with the demons and Eddie . So if you love eerie graphic novels with a great story line and great illustrations this is the book for you . Check it out .
