WOW LAST POST OF 2022

Wow peeps this will be my last post of the year, can't believe how fast this year has gone. For my last book of the year is a Christmas novella by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain. THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT .

                          BOOK BLURB

It’s Christmas Eve, and Poppy isn’t feeling much of the Christmas spirit.

Her mind churning with doubt regarding her recent engagement to Marty, Poppy’s thoughts are a turbulent sea of anxiety and regret.

When a stranger walks into Poppy’s shop, introducing herself as Noelle, she tells Poppy she’s looking for a potion called Holiday Cheer. Poppy is surprised because she’s never even heard of it.

Almost as soon as Noelle walks into the shop, she disappears again, leaving only the recipe for the potion and a festive candy cane.

After brewing the mystery potion, Poppy finds herself transported to a dreamscape of her own life five years into the future.

Whether the vision is a gift delivered by the Spirit of Christmas or the result of Poppy’s stressed mind, she’ll be confronted with a future that will make her reconsider her present.

                MY REVIEW

Poppy is having second thoughts over her engagement with Marty. It is Christmas eve and Poppy is filled anxiety and a little bit of regret. Until the moment a sweet stranger comes into her shop and has Poppy mix up a potion . After Poppy brews up the potion, she is transported into a future that is five years ahead . Will the vision help Poppy out and help set her feelings on the right path and help her decide her present.

Poppy is back and she is stressed to the max, she is torn on what to do about her future . Also she is having trouble with Finn growing up, just like all moms do. I was kind of worried about her in the end of the last book , she is such a people pleaser and wants to do the right thing. We actually get to see her grow up and stand her ground. Noelle is a sweet character that is all Christmas magic and sweetness all rolled into a cutie. We don't see much of her but what we do see is a sweet magical pixie that is showing Poppy the way.

This book was written right after Pan's Delight which I was excited for. We didn't have to wait to find out what is going on with Poppy. They really hit it on the head. It is like they took a part of Scrooged Christmas story and applied it to Poppy. It is a fast fun read that put me in the Christmas spirit. I can't wait for the next Haven Hollow book.  If you want a fun series check it out.

A GREAT READ FOR CHRISTMAS

Good morning peeps, I think the cold has finally hit my computer, she sure doesn't want to work this morning . I hope that everyone  is ready for Christmas. Today I have book 24 in the Haven Hollow series. ARMED AND CHARMED by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain

                        BOOK BLURB

The seal on the spell that’s been keeping my Fae side in check is due to break tonight at midnight…

And I’m set to marry a man I don’t really know, and what I do know of him, I don’t particularly like.

All because some stupid prophecy (from before I was even born) proclaimed as much.

Talk about a crappy deal…

With my Fae powers set to take over and the threat of becoming the Queen of the Winter Court becoming all too real, I find myself stuck at the bar of the Half-Moon Grill in a full-blown pity party.

In walks Maverick, a bounty hunter who occasionally works for me and who’s become the closest thing I have to a friend in Haven Hollow.

Learning of my predicament, Maverick offers me a way out—marry him instead.

At least in title only.

Marrying Maverick would definitely free me from having to marry Prince Reynard of the Autumn Court (otherwise known as Fox Aspen). It will also resolve that blasted prophecy, but after my first marriage went down in flames, do I really want to go for round two?

Short answer: no.

But it doesn’t look like I have much of a choice. It’s either marry Maverick, and my life will basically stay the same, or I don’t and suffer the consequences.

Little do I know, the consequences are coming for me no matter what I choose…

                     MY REVIEW

Taliyah is not having a good day, her powers are coming in fast and her wedding date is getting closer and closer. She doesn't want to become the queen of the winter court and even more she doesn't want to marry the prince of the autumn court. Enter Maverick, Wanda's brother, he gives her an out that could save her from heading to the Fae court as their queen. What they don't know is that the consequences have a way of biting you in the butt and taking you away from those you care about. Will they be able to fight for what they want and what they both need even though they might not know it.

Ok I have to admit something to you all Tallyah really wasn't my favourite character in the other books, but she redeemed herself in this book . I finally got to feel the pain and hurt that Tallyah had in her heart. She has been through so much and we get to see the hurt she has in her heart. Tallyah really grows in this book and becomes one fierce woman who will not let anything get in her way. Maverick really came through and he really showed us that he is more then just Wanda's brother and misfit in a way.  They are a great fighting team and prove that there can be a love between them.

It is fun to always go back to Haven Hollow it is like going home. Each book has a different character featured. The characters are well written and complex and you really cheer for them. The authors have created a town that has all the feelings of any small town but they are supernatural's. This was a fun read that I couldn't put down. I laughed so hard through out , I mean Taliyah making it snow in her living room alone is so funny, I really enjoyed this story so if you want a fun read check it out

Happy Friday all

Good afternoon all and welcome to the deep freeze here on the farm. Today I have for you book 2 in the Trailer Park Vampire series. HILLBILLIES AND HELL HOUNDS by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain.

                            BOOK BLURB

There’s never a dull day in Windy Ridge.

When I’m not trying to play mama to a restless and spirited teenager, I’m out in the woods trying to round up monsters.

And let’s not even bring up my love life—something that’s been nonexistent for years. That is until an old flame from high school decides to step back into my life. And my heart.

The only thing is… Sheriff Dean Hawke (the above-mentioned old flame) seems to be hiding his own secrets. Whenever I try to bring up his past, he deflects or ignores the subject altogether. And that’s definitely one of those things that makes you go hmmm…

Of course, I can’t think on the secretive sheriff for long. Not when things in Windy Ridge are getting downright infernal, with random fires popping up all over the danged place.

Quick to pick up the scent of the burning trail, I’ll find myself in the big city, the sheriff by my side, as we try to get to the bottom of the mystery of the burned-out remains of the Thatcher house.

In the process, I might just be able to put to bed one of the sheriff’s own mysteries.

All in a night’s work by Windy Ridge’s own vampire waitress and monster hunter…

                       MY REVIEW
Welcome back to Windy Ridge, Twila and the boys are out hunting monsters, finding new ones each day. Sheriff Dean is helping out and he is hiding secrets of his own. When things start to get hot literally with fires popping up all over. Twila and Dean are on the hunt to figure out what is happening with the fires Will they get to the bottom of the fires and will Twila get to the bottom of the sheriff's secrets.

Twila and the gang are back and honestly funnier then ever. Twila is just as kick butt as ever and is getting into more trouble. I mean getting shot with buckshot and then bent over a table well you get the picture.  One funny hilarious thing after another happens to poor Twila and she bounced back feistier then ever.  Dean is well he is a man with secrets but he is still sexy and sweet with a little bit of devil in him to make you want in your life. Sicily is a fire ball she is one cool cookie and wants to help out wherever she can but like everyone else she is hiding secrets from her mother. You will love her and want to wrap her up in a blanket and tell her everything will be ok. These are such fun characters and each one the characters grow and get more and more complex

This is one of those books that is just a fun book to read . I love those kind of books after a long day of well almost anything. The characters are well written and the story is just fun to read. I mean when you have someone picking buck shot of your butt over a kitchen table just sent me off into fits of giggles. The authors have a great way of building the story and the characters. This is one of those series that will have you rolling in your seat all the way through and also wanting to wrap up a few characters in warm blankets and hugging them and telling them everything will be ok .If you want a fun mystery with a bit of romance check out this series for your Christmas reading list .

HAPPY RELEASE DAY

Good morning peeps, hope things are going well. Today I have a new book for you from a brand new author . SHADES OF NIGHT (Night Order book one) by Rachael Boucker.

                             BOOK BLURB

Fated for greatness; Destined for pain.

A prophecy of beauty, untold power and the strength to save them all.

They said I was destined to save every witch, my entire race, but life is never that cut-and-dried. I am Aramay Shenade, or Shade for short.

After a demon attack left me scarred, the Night Order elders declared the prophecy was broken, discarded and my destiny along with it. No longer tied to fate, my sister Dellena and I, chose our own path, cutting down every demon that crossed it. That was until the fateful day I pulled the demon-cursed Nora from the mud and the world around us began to unravel. War is upon us and the demons are gathering.

Now I must walk the path of a destiny I thought had abandoned me. Will I be able to correct the tides of war before the demons destroy us all? I can only hope those I hold dearest will not be sacrificed in the struggle.

                     MY REVIEW
Aramay has been told that she was destined to save every witch, but life is never that easy. After being attacked by a demon the Night Order declared the prophecy broken and threw her away and her destiny with it.  Now that they aren't tied to a destiny it is time to choose their own path, so along with her sister  Dellena they are off to kill every demon that crosses their path. Now they are walking the path that was denied her and war is coming. Will they be able to correct the past mistakes or will they be sacrificed in the struggle .

There are a wide range of characters in this story. Aramay aka Shade is sympathic loving person who is fighting some internal demons of her own. Like she is having a hard time with body issues and how to keep her destiny going. Dellena well she brings the humor to the group even if it is a little caustic. She was fun to see how she interacts with others that she meets. Each character was very well written and complex in their own rights. Nora was one of those characters that you really don't know what will happen with her .  Nora is a difficult one to read.

This is a dark gritty novel that really wasn't what I thought it was. The story is so much darker then I expected it to be. We are thrown right into the action from the first page and it doesn't let up. There are some really kick butt characters that you get to meet through out the book. You will be flipping through the book so fast and on the edge of your seat most of the time. There are some triggers in this book of sexual assaults, torture, violence and death. If any of those bother you this might not be the book for you. There are so many twists and turns through out this book that will have you entertained for hours. I truly enjoyed this book and this author's way of writing. So, if you want a good fantasy book with amazing characters check it out.

GOOD MORNING ALL

Good morning everyone, hope your week is going well. It is frigid here on the farm today a great day to curl up and read. Today I have for you book 23 in the Haven Hollow series, PAN'S DELIGHT by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain

                        BOOK BLURB

The cold touch of winter has hit Haven Hollow…

Something naughty is plaguing the mundanes of Haven Hollow lately.

‘Naughty’ as in dancing curses that leave the victim exhausted and even injured, every milk product in town souring for no apparent reason, and elf-knots that are nearly impossible to brush out of your hair…

After deciding these curses are fae created, we call in Prince Reynard, the Prince of the Autumn Court, otherwise known as Fox Aspen.

The only problem? Fox is currently waging his own war with our Chief of Police, Taliyah, who is meant to be Fox’s intended but won’t have anything to do with him or his marriage proposal.

As if that weren’t enough to put us all on edge, Finn is challenging my ability to be a cool, calm, and collected mother. Even though he means well, every time he tries to help someone, he’s left exhausted, pale, and sickly. And I’m getting more and more concerned.

With questions about Finn’s magician abilities, I turn to the only person who can provide answers—a man I haven’t seen in five months but one who has dominated my thoughts every day since.

Alixandre Osmont, the English magician, otherwise known as Andre...

Between trying to decipher who is behind the fae pranks, battling my teenage son, and trying to keep my feelings in check for a certain British magician, I’ve got my hands full and then some.

                       MY REVIEW

Poppy and the gang are back and trying to figure out why people are getting hurt from dancing or waking up with knots in their hair. With all that going on, Poppy is also trying to deal with Finn's new power and the fact that he is getting exhausted by healing people. He is also your typical teenager with attitude. There is one person that can help her out Andre the magician, will she be able to hang on to her heart and figure out what is going on in Haven Hollow before people really start to get hurt.

Ok, I love these characters very much but this time I really couldn't figure Poppy out. Usually, she is a very strong feisty woman who doesn't let things get to her. This time I felt she was like a teenager who was trying to figure out who she should date. It was a little redundant about her always saying I have a boyfriend all the time. When push comes to shove though she does come through and fight for those she loves. Finn really becomes a teenager and a person in his own right. He does start to grow up and want to help people the way his mom and friends do. We also get the rest of the town back also. Andre is back to help out Finn and maybe fall in love with Poppy. Marty well he is still the good guy that you can count on to help out.

I read this book in an evening, I really like the Haven Hollow series. It is like going home to a small town with great characters that you know and love. With each book we see Haven Hollow change and grow with each new addition to the town. We get to see the characters grow and live. I truly liked this book, but I did have a bit of trouble getting into the story. I felt like it wasn't the best book in the series, but it was still a good story. Overall, I enjoyed this   book and can't wait till the next book comes out. Check out the series and laugh your way through the holidays.
