Good Tuesday morning all . Today we are going to review SCABS III ,Humans, Gods and monsters by Eric A Shelman.

                             BOOK BLURB

I was created by human emotion; love, elation, hate, fear, desperation. On occasion, I awaken and become aware. It is always triggered by humanity's cry for help. ~ Kokumthena

Scott, Warren and Missy Walsh did not understand what their roles were to be when the omnipresent light first blinked on. They believed their only obligation was to find a safe place for their small family to escape what was happening all around them. But fate would not allow them to hide away in the North Carolina cabin for long.

Now, with their number hovering near a dozen survivors, they must work together – along with Koku, the flawed, self-aware Goddess with a long-term memory problem – to preserve Earth for humanity’s occupation.

Earth Canyon Retreat is their sanctuary for the moment, but as the invaders make adjustments, so must the survivors. As the winged, clawed and fanged monsters ravage all life forms on Earth, working toward their goal of total annihilation, these ragtag remnants of humanity must find some way to drive the interlopers from the planet.

For when humanity dies, so do its Gods ... once and for all.

                             MY REVIEW
This is the last book in the series and what an ending it is . This is an action packed book . The story picks up where book two left off . The gang is still at Earth Canyon retreat . They are healing and trying to figure out their next step. They are battered , bruised but have some new found powers that may help annihilate the gross invaders. Will they survive and will they be able to take back the world .
I have read all three books in this series and I must say the author has wrapped it up pretty good . The characters are so well developed and as you read the series you see them grow . They become more of the hunter then the hunted . You see them loose people close to them and you will cry when they say good bye . You see them live their lives and actually fall in love . Yes I said love, you can't go through the end of the world with out falling in love a time or two , while fighting those creepy invaders .  I must say I really got invested in these characters , I was cheering when they succeeded and cried when they lost . Laughed so hard in some spots especially when Koku was involved the goddess had such a bad long term memory . You could see the guys getting frustrated
I am kind of sad the series has ended , this was a great series that kept you on the edge of your seat . Wondering what was going to happen and it they were going to survive . Yes there is gore but the author doesn't over do it, its done right . I read this book in a day , I just couldn't put it down . The author had me sucked in and I couldn't wait to see how it was going to end. The twists and turns had me wondering and trying to figure out what was going on. The twist was a jaw dropper to me and made me go WTH. The series is such a great story . So if you want a series that will keep you reading well into the night . This is the series for you . SCABS III  rocked check it out and check out the series .

Welcome to Friday sorry I am late , but today we are going to review the second book in the WITCHES BREW series . by N.L Hoffmann .Let me introduce you to CATCHING HELL DEMON UNCOVERED

                         BOOK BLURB

Faster than she can blink, Sophie’s life turns into a chaotic mess. Unbeknownst to her, her lover, Drake, is married. On top of that, a Demon is trying to drain his powers, and a rogue Witch just might have exposed the entire community. Nobody said being the Head Mistress was easy.

Ethan is a troublesome Mage who has been tasked with aiding Sophie in thwarting the catastrophic events facing the magical community. However, working alongside Ethan might just be her biggest challenge of all.

Sophie and Ethan race against the clock, encountering multiple challenges that not only threaten the success of the mission, but the magic that has brought them together.

As the duo attempts the impossible, they dive head first into the trouble that lay ahead. Will they be able to save the Witch community before it’s too late? Can Drake be saved, or is he too far gone?
                         MY REVIEW
This is the second book in the series and it just keeps getting better and better . When we start this book poor Sophie's life is turned upside down . She is leading the witches and her life with the man of her dreams is in turmoil right now . Drake forgot to mention to her that he was married and there is an demon trying to take over his power. Enter Ethan a sexy but pain in the butt Mage that is summoned to help her out . Will they be able to hold off their desires and help Drake out or will they end up dead or pregnant .
If you love witches, vampires and all sorts of mystical beings . This is the series for you .  The characters have a way of getting into your heart . Sophie is such a great character , she was quirky and sweet. But don't piss her off cause she can kick ass when backed into a corner. She is just like your best friend and you know you want to be her friend .  Ethan is just sexy as sin . He is the guy you want to drop your panties for in this book. You really don't know what side he is on. The mage is very mysterious . Drake is still tall dark and deadly but there is an difference about him . He is becoming more and more evil as you read. You will love to hate him trust me .
The book moves along at a fast pace , you will get sucked in and once you start you wont put it down until you are done. I read this book in a day  cause I love these characters . The story is quirky but also has some mystery to it . The author takes us on a fun filled journey. There are moments of OMG  and places where you will laugh out loud . Then there are parts that will make you swoon and fan yourself . I strongly suggest that you read the first book in the series to get acquainted to the characters and if you do dive right into book two . You will not be disappointed .

Today we are going to review the fourth book in the HELLSPAWN SERIES by Ricky Fleet . HELLSPAWN REQUIEM  is out today

                          BOOK BLURB

Blood from the epic battle stains the ancient stone, shed from both the living and the dead. The massive castle walls provide a period of respite from the unending terror and the group can finally honour the fallen. As Kurt and his family count the cost of securing their new sanctuary, new friends have joined the fray. Only by pulling together can they hope to have any kind of future in the apocalyptic world. A few short miles away, the psychotic lovers receive a victor’s welcome. Craig Arater, older sibling to Mike, rules the prison with an iron fist, meting out brutal punishments to those who fail him. Designed to keep the worst of humanity locked away, now it provides a haven for the evil in men to thrive. Winston has chosen a different path from his murderous companions. Faced with an uncertain future in the prison or solitude amongst the dead, he chose to go it alone. A rumour about the castle and its inhabitants gives him hope. The journey that awaits, however, will be more dangerous than anything he has faced before.

                          MY REVIEW
Have you ever had a book that  you start and finish on the same day ?  Well this was the book that did it for me . I started this book in the morning and had it finished by supper time  and I was blown away . The series was great to start with but this book blew me away . Kurt and the gang keep getting better and more complex and don't get me wrong but I kind of cheered when Debbie got what was finally coming to her . They are finally getting settled somewhere safe behind the castle walls , with the help of their new friends and allies .  Debbie and Mike end up at the prison , where his brother is the leader . Will they survive the dead but also will they all survive the living.
What I love about this series of books , they have everyday people as the main characters . They aren't superhero men . They are a family trying to survive and they do it with their wits and their love for each other . Kurt has grown so much over the course of the books . You see him become the leader with a conscious . He has done some horrible things but he did them to help his family survive . Everyone has grown during this book . We see them thrive and survive .  On the other side of the table I was actually kind of glad that Debbie is finally getting a little of what she has dished out. I mean its nice to see her actually be scared  Winston is such a joy to read, he is a force in his own right . You have the overweight kid who just played video games come out swinging and claiming his place in the apocalypse. There is a new cast of characters that come in and you will love them all . Well most of them the others  you will hate . Especially the characters at the jail .
This series of books came out running and in hellspawn requiem is no exception . You are taken on a journey with the characters .  You are thrown into the middle of the battle and you fight right along side them. There are plenty of omg you didn't and holy what were you thinking in this book . You will laugh and shed a tear . I strongly suggest you have a Kleenex on hand for some parts . The author paints us a picture of what the world would be like  if the world came to an end .  Just be prepared to get sucked in and hooked . You will cheer for your favourite characters and also shed a tear or two. So if you want a series that will have you cheering and wanting more . Check out the HELL SPAWN SERIES and  read HELLSPAWN REQUIEM .

Ian John Smith, born May 1981 in Portsmouth England. My childhood was one of hardship, growing up in a poor household. Many of my memories were that of survival, growing up with a father unable to read and who followed a life of crime. To this day he tells me his greatest achievement was making sure I never followed in his footsteps and what joy he got from watching me read a book. Each day there was a struggle to put food on the table. As an only child my life was a lonely one, I filled my life with a love of books. From the brilliance of Roald Dahl to the amazing inspiration of William Shakespeare.
Growing up in a tough family made me a survivor and that meant my passion for writing always came last, working long hours in a Factory from the age of seventeen. That was until fate intervened many years later, diagnosed with a bad heart. There is a long fancy medical name for it, but I decided long ago to never let it stop me. I have to thank that moment in my life, it made me realize we have to follow our dreams. Whatever path they lead. I took a job for less money as a projectionist, this allowed me to have the time to write. It may have been a scribble on a scrappy piece of paper or a story of meaning, it never mattered it was my passion. Never dreaming of publishing my work, I was happy to enjoy the work for myself.
Little did I know fate would intervene again, My mother, Sandra who passed away so suddenly forcing me to make changes to my life. My father Michael terminally ill himself needed someone, being an only child, I made it my responsibility.
I left my second job due to fate, but along the path I realized I wanted to write. Now my work, maybe ridiculed it maybe considered inferior, but that does not matter. What matters is I finally get to live my dream. I am not a writer looking for wealth or fame I am just a man looking to live his dream.
Now I will publish stories I enjoy, from short stories to Novels. I will also be publishing work in a series format. This is my beginning.

Good  Monday all today is an exciting day on the blog . It is cover reveal and interview with the amazing JD Brown and the next installment of her Ema Marx series

With the fourth book done in the Ema Marx series . I had a nice conversation with Ema's writer  J.D Brown . She is an awesome woman who loves coffee , vampires and a Netflix junkie  .

Welcome to the blog J.D .
. Tell us about yourself.
My name is J.D. Brown, I'm an urban fantasy author best known for the Ema Marx series which is currently 3 books (about to be four) and 2 novellas strong. You can check them out at Amazon.com/author/jdbrown  I have two dogs, a niece and two nephews that I adore. I'm a vampire junkie, a coffee addict, a Netflix binge watcher, and a book hoarder.

Are you working on anything new if so let us in on it.
Getting the fourth Ema book - Dark Ascension - ready for publication is taking all of my time right now. I also have a boxed set and a few other projects waiting their turn.

So if you weren't a writer what would you be doing?
I honestly have no idea, but I think I would be pretty miserable. I really love being an author.

if your books were being made into a movie, who would your fantasy cast be?
Mila Kunis would play Ema. I think she'd rock the part. Jason Momoa would make an awesome Apollyon (the bad guy). I have no idea who would play the rest of the characters. I'd have to ask the professionals.

Is there a type of scene that you have a hard time writing?
Probably the boring bits between the action; the down time. I love writing the gut-wrenching and heart-breaking stuff. It's a rush.

Do you have any rituals when you sit down to write.
Coffee is a must. Snacks too. Quiet is also important. I can't even listen to music while I write. I have to be firmly in the character's head space, seeing what they see. It's weird.

what is your least favourite part of the writing / publishing process?
I hate revisions. Ugh. Takes me forever.

What authors have inspired you to sit down and write?
So many. Darynda Jones and Cassandra Clare are my top two favorite authors right now (though there are tons more) and reading their books always gets me so jazzed up about my own. I want to be like them when I grow up - haha.

Now for some fun questions
What animal would you be in the zoo
.Hmm. If I have to live at a zoo I would like to be an animal that gets a swimming pool to play in, like a polar bear or an otter. The other animals always look so bored.

Vampires or werewolves
Vampires - though there are shifters in my series too. ;)

if you were a super hero , who would you be and what power would you have.
I really like Oliver Queen's sister, Thea. Can I be her? She doesn't have a super power really, but I think the best super heros don't.

Coffee or tea.
Both, but if I have to pick one - Coffee.

Where is the one place in the world you would like to visit.
Everywhere. I love traveling. Wish I could do it more often and see more exotic places.

One last question
what would you tell all the aspiring authors out there
Get out of your own way and write. - Thanks so much for having me, Patricia, it's been a blast. :)

When one king falls, another rises…

Defeating her nemesis is just the beginning for Ema Marx. Her past is about to catch up with her. Her future is bleak. A new enemy waits. But her greatest challenge?

Surviving her parents.

Or is it surviving her on-off relationship?

Wait … It’s definitely saving her unborn children.

Dark Ascension is the highly anticipated fourth installment of the awarding-winning urban fantasy series by J.D. Brown.

Good Thursday all . Hope your week is going well mine has been busy . Today we are going to review HISSES AND HONEY by Shannon Mayer.

                         BOOK BLURB

The climactic final volume of The Venom Trilogy by USA Today bestselling author Shannon Mayer.
Humble baker turned supernatural Alena Budrene is lovely and lethal, and for the first time, she’s owning it. Finally rid of her low-life ex-husband, she’s free to date sexy vampire mob boss Remo, who respects her as both a Supe and a woman. She’s on good terms with her difficult mother, and she’s growing comfortable with her powers.
But just when it seems things are falling into place for Alena, Hera strikes again: the Aegrus virus rages across Seattle, threatening the life of everyone in its path—including Remo, infected by Hades. The only way to stop the carnage is to face Hera and her army in a no-prisoners battle to determine the fate of the human race—and Alena’s future.
In a sweeping voyage from the Seattle bar scene to a netherworld populated by murderous gods and monsters, Alena confronts one adversary after another on a quest to set the world right for both humans and Supes and demonstrate her power—to the gods and to herself—once and for all.
                       MY REVIEW
This is the final book in the series and the author doesn't let us down . Things are looking up for Alena . She is on her way to proving that she is alive and get a divorice from her slimy ex husband .  She i falling in love with the oh so sexy Remo . vampire mob boss . Family is getting along . Her mother and her are mending fences so to speak .  Until Hera wants to play with her again . Will Hades and Hera destroy everyone or will Alena stop the war before they take everything away from her.
I love this series and fell in love with Alena and Remo. When we started the series we find Alena a naive young woman who can't believe what has happened to her . When she was turned into a monster from Greek mythology . We see her grow up and into her new role in this book . She isn't backing down from anyone . She is up for the battle of her life . Even when tragedy hits . She takes on the Gods to stop what is about to happen . She is kick ass and taking no prisoners .  Remo kind of takes a back seat in this book . He is attacked and Alena has to fight to get him back to normal . He is stricken down by Hades .  I will say that these characters are well written and developed . You can't help but cheer for Alena and swoon at Remo's feet .
This author takes Greeks Gods and monsters and twists them around . Where the monsters are the good guys and the Gods are waring with each other over the world . Zeaus is running rampant all over town, not caring what is going on.  There are some things that if the author wanted to continue the books she could expand on. LIke Tad and Dahlia, Zeus and Alena's grandmother and Sandy she needs a love .
There are twists and turns a plenty in this book . I love Ms Mayer's writing style and loved this series . She takes us on a fun filled joy ride that will make you giggle through out the whole book .  The series is light hearted and fun . I do really hope that she continues the story in the other characters . They would be awesome spin offs . I would love to know about Zeus and grandma. You have to read the first two books for book three to make sense . I strongly reccomend  them to you if you want a fun read full of angst . laughter and romance amongst the war of the gods . Check out the Venom trilogy . You will not be disappointed .
I was given this book for my honest opinion .

Books to curl up with: WELCOME TO WEDNESDAY ITS SUPERNATURAL BOYFRIEND DA...: This week I’m helping Entangled Publishing celebrate new adult heroes! Today is focused on the out-of-this-world hotness of otherw...

This week I’m helping Entangled Publishing celebrate new adult heroes! Today is focused on the out-of-this-world hotness of otherworldly heroes! Entangled has all of the Embrace books that feature paranormal heroes on sale for just 99¢ today!

Authors Marnee Blake, Reese Monroe, & Jocelyn Adams share their inspiration for their otherworldly heroes!

Who or what inspired your otherworldly heroes?
Reese Monroe (author of the Bound by Hades series): I've always been inspired by The Rock and Vin Diesel. Yeah, I know I kind of dated myself a little there, but in some of their movies...**whew**...the lengths to which they'll go to protect what's theirs--amazing to watch.

Off the screen, if you watch their social media feeds, it's all about family, inspiration and working hard for your goals. I'm all about that.

Oh, and they're nice to look at, too.

As far as what inspired me while creating my heroes...Love. In all honesty, faith, hope and love are the key elements to all my stories. Love being the greatest of these. It makes my heroes stronger than they already are and that kind of strength, no matter what kind of evil they face off with, gives them an edge.
Jocelyn Adams (author of the Mortal Machine series): Years ago, a friend of mine suggested I read the Anita Blake series of books by Laurel K. Hamilton, and I absolutely fell for Jean-Claude. Tall, unusual, with a colorful past, and that French accent was the cherry on top. He was the first hero I'd ever read that stepped outside the boundaries of typical romantic relationships. The moment I finished the first book in the series, I knew what genre I wanted to write.
Besides otherworldly heroes, about what kind of heroes do you like to read?
Marnee Blake (author of the Altered series): I love reading about heroes who do real-life heroic things as well. FBI agents, cops, detectives, military men, firefighters... People who help others are sexy.
Reese: Those who cherish their mates above all else and would do anything for them. Also, I love a good hero that is strong and honorable.
Jocelyn: Dark anti-heroes are my absolute favorite, or even better, villain-turned-heroes. There's nothing I love more than a good redemption story.

Today we’re shining the spotlight on musicians and rockstars. Here’s what Embrace authors have to say about their rockstars.
Are any of your rockstar characters inspired by real life people? If so, who?
A.S. Green (author of Summer Girl)
: Well... there may have a been a gorgeous guitar-playing camp counselor in my early teen years who left an impression and inspired Bennet from "Summer Girl."
Katie Delahanty (author of The Brightside series): Many of the experiences, especially in IN BLOOM, are inspired by real-life events/run-ins with real-life celebrities (sometimes actors, not exclusively musicians) so my characters are sort of inspired by real people... I'd say they are a mishmash of the many artists, both famous and up and coming, that I've had the privilege of knowing over the years as part of the Los Angeles music scene. When we were dating, my husband (then boyfriend) was in a band that used to open for Kara's Flowers--who went on to become Maroon 5. My husband is good friends with Adam Levine so I was along for the ride (and was often the shy girl hiding in the corner at celebrity parties) as they rose to success. People often ask if Berkeley is based on Adam and the short answer is he's not character-wise, but in some ways Adam taught Berkeley everything he knows experience-wise. Other bands/celebs that have "cameos" in my books include The Killers and Jake Gyllenhaal, and all of the music/lyrics are borrowed from my husband's band, The Remainers.
Lisa Burstein (author of The Possibility of Us): In my YA Mia and The Bad Boy. Ryder Brooks a reluctant member of a boy band is based on River Phoenix.
Tara Kelly (author of Encore): Yes - Sean in ENCORE - was actually inspired by my husband. They are differences, for sure, but their personalities are similar.
Besides rockstars & musicians, what kind of heroes do you like to read about?
A.S. Green: I love any hero with a troubled past and something to prove, even if he's the only one who needs convincing.
Katie Delahanty: Entrepreneurs--anybody who is chasing a dream and is driven to succeed.
Lisa Burstein: Artists of any kind. I find creativity and angst super sexy.
Tara Kelly: I've got a soft spot for computer/science geeks (particularly of the hacker variety), any type of artist, mechanics, heroes who, underneath their corporate suit/image, are tattooed and have a chaotic, wild side.
How would you describe your own musical talent?
A.S. Green: I can do a mean karaoke version of "I Will Survive."
Katie Delahanty: Ugh. Non-existent!
Lisa Burstein: Not great talent-wise but better story-wise. I took keyboard lessons in middle school from one of them members of Kool and the Gang. He told us he used to be a member, but he also worked at Sears in the keyboard department, so looking back I'm not so sure. He'd bring his bass over and play in my dining room while trying to teach me the keys.
Tara Kelly: I'm a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. I play guitar, bass, piano, and sing.
Encore by Tara Kelly
I lied my way into a band, humiliated them on stage, and got my heart broken by the bassist. Now...we’re on tour together. This is the best opportunity we may ever have –and it’s already a disaster. We’re broke. We can't stop fighting. And being in such close quarters to Sean isn't exactly helping me get over him. Even though we're just friends now, every time our fingers brush or our eyes catch, my heart betrays me. He's the kind of distraction I can't afford to have right now...no matter how much I wish things were different.

Summer Girl by A.S. Green
A songwriter is nothing without his muse. Sucks that mine turns out to be Katherine D’Arcy—hot as hell, but the very definition of country-club living and everything I came to this quiet little island to escape. I thought I’d find inspiration here, but I’ve been unable to write crap. That is until the uptight summer girl arrived to tend the lighthouse and the music began to flow. If only there wasn’t that one inconvenient truth I’ve been keeping from her…
