Good Staturday all hope you are all having a great weekend

Today I get the honor of reading and reviewing BROKEN ( Bloom book 3) by Cathy Jackson

                                BOOK BLURB

At best love is complicated with one man.
I have two.
One is my fiance and the other is his brother.
Both want to win my heart.
But I want what God wants.
I can only hope He knows what's best, live in His will, and follow His teachings.
My name is Evelyn Miller.
This is the story of how I became a Westerling.

                    MY REVIEW
I was so honored when the author of this book asked me to read it for her. I have read her other two books and was blown away. So this time it wasn't different. But this story had more a twist to it . The story is about Evelyn, and Johnathon. How they came to be friends and hopefully fall in love.

Evelyn is a divorced mother of two young children and is picking herself up and making sure that she and her children have better lives . She is the best friend to John and Phoenix Westerling . She is such a strong character and wants what is best for her , her family and her friends. She knows the difference between right and wrong but when Johnathon Westerling comes into the picture . Well she is torn. Johnathon is the black sheep of the family and has turned his back on them . He has done things that have hurt many people . He is a cocky man , but underneath he is hurting and wants to love. But he can't, or he thinks he can't . It just will take the right woman to stand up to him and set him straight . The rest of the cast of characters is also back and we find out a few things that we didn't know in the other books . But I won't tell you cause it is a big spoiler and one of the reasons Johnathon is the way he is. But trust me you will want to throttle him or hug him most of the time in this book. Trust me there were a few time where I wanted to slap him then in the next page I wanted just to hug him tight.
This book is full of emotion and you will shed a tear or two . You see the Westerlings at their best and at their worst .But, you will see them love and pull together as a family through the tough times and rejoice in the happy times .  The story is about the family struggles but also about the lost soul who wants to come home but doesn't know how to repair the damage that has been done. You will get sucked into the story of the Westerlings and you will laugh and love with them . You will want to slap a few people too by the way. So if you want a great clean read that will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride of emotion please check out the BLOOM SERIES by Cathy Jackson.

RULE OF PROTECTION  by Alison Bliss

                   BOOK BLURB
It’s rule breaker Emily Foster's birthday, and like everyone at The Jungle Room, she just wants to get some action. Unfortunately, she stumbles on the wrong kind, witnessing a mob hit. To protect her, she’s entered into the Witness Protection Program with by-the-book Special Agent Jake Ward as her chaperone.
When the location of their safe house is compromised, Jake stashes Emily deep in the Texas backwoods. The city-girl might be safe from the Mafia, but she has to contend with a psychotic rooster, a narcoleptic dog, crazy cowboys, and the danger of losing her heart to the one man she can’t have.
Jake's as hot as he is infuriating, and she can't help but push all his buttons to loosen him up. Their mutual, sizzling sexual attraction poses a dilemma: Jake’s determined to keep her safe and out of the wrong hands; she’s determined to get into the right ones—his.

                 MY REVIEW
Have you just ever wanted a good fun read with romance and danger. This is the book for you .
I laughed so hard when I was reading this book. I was so excited when a friend told me about this book. She said that when you get to the rooster scene you will laugh your butt off. I am not going to tell you about the rooster scene, but I will say it has happened to me in real life . Roosters are evil.
Emily is taken into witness protection after seeing a murder. That is where the fun begins, Jake is with her and he has to protect her and that's where things go from bad to worse and back again. Will they survive the killer after them better will they survive each other .

The author has created a fun filled book with characters and situations that will make you laugh out loud . Emily is in my opinion a very princess like character. Who will push a man away before getting attached , she doesn't want to take a chance and get hurt by anyone leaving her again. So she has this snarky, bitchy attitude that gets her into more trouble than its worth sometimes . But really she is a young girl hurting hiding underneath the snarky attitude . She needs someone who will love her and keep her safe. Then there is Jake , oh my god what can we say about Jake . Well let me tell you . First off he is hot and sexy, but also has a sensitive side that is hurting from a past wound . You don't know if you want to climb him like a spider monkey or hug him and make him feel all good inside. The supporting cast of characters are so great too. Hank and Floss, Jake's aunt and uncle are comical . They have such a good relationship and they ooze southern charm it is sooo sweet but will kick your ass if you need it. The boys are so much fun Cowboy, Ox and Judd . You know you just want to hang out with these good ole boys and have a rip roaring time . They are so much fun and you will laugh out loud. Oh how could I forget Junior , he was the strong silent friend that has a past that you won't believe . When you read you will understand why Emily always was comforted by the scent of wintergreen . HONORABLE MENTION the rooster and the wild boar . When you read you will understand, that's all I am going to say on them. But , you will laugh and laugh.

The author has taken a story and made it an great read . I laughed and I did tear up . I also cheered and yelled at my kindle. Yes I yelled at my kindle in frustration . I also wanted to strangle Emily when she can't keep her mouth shut and self sabotages. Trust me she does that a lot. The story is a great twist  of romance and mystery. It is a fast read so it will great for an afternoon at the beach or by the pool. So if you want an laugh out loud check out this book . You won't be disappointed. You will laugh and cry and laugh some more.

Excerpt

The edge of the mattress bumped his knees and he lowered them both across the bed. Her hips welcomed him, arching up to meet his thrust. Nails stroked lightly across his neck, dragging a ragged groan from him.

"You'd better get rid of these clothes before I tear them off you, baby. I can't wait." That voice grabbed him by the balls and spurred him on.

Kellen stood long enough to kick off his boots and folded his cut across the back of the chair against the wall. Jeans and shirt followed. "You better get rid of that dress, little girl, before I finish ripping it off you."

A lazy smile curved her lips. "I dare you."

A surge of pure heat settled in his belly. "I was hoping you'd say that." The torn edge of her gown felt thin as tissue between his fingers as he lifted it away from her body. The tear ended at the top of her shapely thigh, tempting him to rip it the rest of the way and reveal all of her. But no. He'd looked forward to this moment too much to rush. He fully intended to take his sweet time.

Instead of devouring her immediately, he dropped to his knees beside the bed. The fancy shoes intrigued him, the way they emphasized the delicate arch of her foot and the fragile bones of her ankle. Rather than remove them, he kissed along the curve of her instep and found his way to her calf.

An impatient noise came from her and she moved to pull away, but he held her fast. "Kellen, please, this is not time for foreplay." She hissed a little when his tongue found the back of her knee.
"Little girl, this ain't foreplay. This is me making every inch of you mine." The moan of frustration she made brought a smile to his lips. She would be as finely tuned to him as his bike before he finished, ready to respond to his every thought.

good monday morning all

Well made it through another weekend and got lots of reading done . Today we are reviewing
THE PICTURE KILLS ( The Quintana Adventures) by Ian Bull

                         BOOK BLURB
When you’re covered in mud, running from men with guns, and stuck in small spaces with very little clothing on, it’s amazing what you can learn about a person.

Steven Quintana was once a top Army Ranger reconnaissance photographer until he made a fatal mistake on a mission. A boy was killed, and Steven’s military career was cut short—all because of a photo he took.
Now he works as a paparazzo in Hollywood where his photos can’t hurt anybody, the money is easy, and he can forget the past.
But when mega movie star Julia Travers is kidnapped, Steven discovers the kidnappers used photos he took to cover up the crime. Realizing that he’s still harming people with his camera, he swears to fix his mistake, Rambo-style.

But—life or death situation or not—the last person Julia wants coming to her rescue is the paparazzo whose photos got her into trouble in the first place.

THE PICTURE KILLS is a fun, fresh, sexy, snappy, fast-paced thriller that starts in celebrity-obsessed Hollywood and climaxes in the exotic and remote cays of the Bahamas.

Excerpt:
“Run, Julia!” someone shouts.
Julia bolts across the patio with her white robe flapping, swim fins in one hand and a canvas bag in the other. She slows to pick up the French Smoker’s gun and then leaps over the first wall.
I feel a bullet whizz past my cheek and then hear the gun-shot. I jump over the wall as more shots ring out. People shout as I disappear into the trees.
I have to move fast, both to escape Caballero and his friends but to also catch Julia.
The shouting continues for a bit and then stops, but I hear enough branches cracking and electronic chirps to know that four men are behind me. I keep searching for Julia while evading them. I notice a flash of white and head for it, and find her robe stuck in a tree. Smart girl, I think. I toss it in the high grass so they can’t find it.
Her trail is easy to find now. I pause every hundred yards and wait until I hear a small thud or crack in front of me, and then I head there until I find her trail again.
Then I reach the fisherman’s hut and the bent grass blades tell me she went inside. Not such a smart girl after all.
Creeping around the side, I find the closed door. “Julia,” I whisper.
There’s no answer, so I push the door open and step in-side. It’s pitch black. I pull a glow stick out of a pocket in my camo pants and crack it, letting the light leak through my knuckles.
Crouching in the corner next to the open window, she’s wearing a bikini, a man’s suit jacket and deck shoes that are too big, and her legs are scratched from running through the woods. She has her canvas bag in one hand and the French Smoker’s gun in the other.
She’s breathing hard, and then our eyes lock and she gasps. In five seconds a half dozen emotions flash across her face: fear…slight recognition…then confusion…then she really remembers who I am…and her face fills with anger.
It’s the same anger I saw ten days ago when I last stared at her eye-to-eye, when she knocked out my tooth with her foot. She raises the gun and aims it right at my heart.
“I hate you, you asshole.”
“Wait!” I yell.
The door next to me bursts open just as she pulls the trigger.

MY REVIEW

A picture is worth a thousand words or you would think. This thriller will have you turning pages well into the night . In this novel we meet Steve Quintana , an Army Ranger , photographer . Until the day when something goes wrong and he witnesses a murder of a young boy. Now he is taking pictures of Hollywoods elite a list celebrities . Thinking that this is easy money , until the day he takes pictures of Julia Travers. A up an coming starlet. Who is kidnapped and the kidnapper used Steve's pictures to capture her again. Now he is on the hunt to find the kidnapper and rescue Julia .

This is the a new and refreshing thriller that had my flipping pages all night long. The characters
are very well developed and you will be cheering for them. The story is told from two points of view.
Steve's side as the ex army man who has the guts to go where he has to, to help find her . He is a man
of honor but is very flawed and hurt by the past . He is also trying to run away from the past . Which he knows that he can't but tries really hard. You know you want to save him and just make everything better . Julia is a no nonsense  type of girl that doesn't take crap from anyone. She has had her share of past heartbreak and now is an star in her own right. She is a tough as nails girl who won't let herself be hurt again. The villain in this book is truly, truly evil. He is an ex love of Julia. He was making a movie with her after she left him years earlier . He has ulterior motives for Julia for the end of this movie and he will do anything to get her to do this movie . Even kidnap her

This is a fast paced edge of your seat read. I read it in an evening while sitting out on the patio.  The author takes us on a rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns, that will keep you turning pages well into the night . I really loved the plot and all the twists and turns . There is a lot of action and suspense and maybe the starting of a romance between the two lead characters. Not really touched on but you can feel the heat between them. This would make a great summer read for those hot summer days by the pool or sitting on the deck enjoying the sun. It is a great read that will keep you              entertained

good Sunday everyone

Good Sunday everyone hope your weekend is going well . Today we are reviewing CHIPPED BLACK NAIL POLISH by Nicholas Tanek

                    BOOK BLURB

In New Jersey during the summer of 1989, an awkward thirteen-year-old who was obsessed with weird music fell head-over-heels in love with the coolest post-punk rock girl he had ever met.

Nicholas was insecure. He was a daydreamer, wishing for romance when he was told, over and over, that he could not have it. He was a toy, pulled and pushed, wanted and used, dragged along yet held at a distance. Nicholas fell in with the out crowd, and loved every minute of it. He fell in love and got left behind, but not before she changed him forever.

This is an irrational, emotional love story for the teenager inside all of us.

The music is loud, and you're about to be pushed into the pit.

                   MY REVIEW
This is the prequel to THE COOLEST WAY TO KILL YOURSELF.  To when Nicholas is a thirteen year old kid with some well lets say different tastes in music . One day he is in the right place at the right time where he falls head over heels with the coolest punk girl. He is pulled into a world of punk rock music and the girl of his dreams . Where he fell in love and got dumped all in one summer . But it was the best summer of his life .
I was so sucked into this book when I started reading it. The story flowed so well and you can just feel the angst of the kids just pouring off the page . You find yourself thinking about your teen years as you read this book. The good and the bad parts of it . You will just get sucked into their lives and you will shed a tear or two as you read. The ending is so sad I cried , not going to tell you what happens. But you just want to take Nicholas in your arms and hug him tight and wipe away his tears
The characters are so well developed and each of them have their unique sense of being . Kim is the wild child that is like the fire cracker of the group. Kevin is the best friend to Nicholas. They remind me of some of the kids I went to school with . They are all individuals but also work great as the whole group. They are outsiders and stick together through thick and thin.
The author takes us on such a ride in this book . It is more light hearted then his first book but it still sends us a great message . It is ok to be different and unique. There is first love, drugs and some awesome tunes in this book. You will laugh and cry and think. Even when you finish the book , you will be introduced to some cool bands . Which honestly I never heard about before these books . So if you want a book to add to your summer reading list . Check it out . I know you wont be disappointed at all

good friday everyone

I know this is late but have been having problems with blogger today so I hope everyone is going to have a great weekend. Today we are reviewing DESTRUCTION The December People book one by Sharon Bayliss
                          BOOK BLURB

David Vandergraff wants to be a good man. He goes to church every Sunday, keeps his lawn trim and green, and loves his wife and kids more than anything.

Unfortunately, being a dark wizard isn't a choice.

Eleven years ago, David's secret second family went missing. When his two lost children are finally found, he learns they suffered years of unthinkable abuse. Ready to make things right, David brings the kids home even though it could mean losing the wife he can't imagine living without.

Keeping his life together becomes harder when the new children claim to be dark wizards. David believes they use this fantasy to cope with their trauma. Until, David's wife admits a secret of her own--she is a dark wizard too, as is David, and all of their children.

Now, David must parent two hurting children from a dark world he doesn't understand and keep his family from falling apart. All while dealing with the realization that everyone he loves, including himself, may be evil.

                 MY REVIEW
This the first book in Sharon's new series.  It centers around David Vandergraff and his family . The family he has now and the children he has been looking for over eleven years . It starts with a phone call that David has been waiting for, they found his children and it goes from there . How is he suppose to tell his wife and their kids about these children . He goes and picks them up and finds out some disturbing news about what has happened to them. When his youngest son tells him that they are dark wizards . He just thinks that they are using the idea to hide the hurt and the abuse that thy went through . Until his wife sets him straight and tells him the truth about all of them being dark wizards not practicing .  Now he must fight the darkness and save them all .
This book had me sucked in at the beginning , it started off with a bang and kept going . You start  out wondering what happened to the children and then it turns a corner when you throw in dark wizards . You have the dynamic of the family in turmoil and the added the dark wizard aspect and watching everyone trying to cope .
The characters in the book are well developed . David isn't your typical guy who has to step up to be the hero. He is a man who went and had a past that is now coming back to him .He was hurting and he was scared , basically he is human. Amanda his wife to me feels like the evil that is in the house . Not only did she not tell him he was a wizard, she took away his memories . She did it to help him but she did more damage then good .  The kids are your typical kids they argue fight and make up . They all come together to and keep the family together. There is also another evil in the book . But the author takes on the dynamic of the family and getting them together. The evil comes to them at the last couple of chapters that will test the family .
I liked this book , I got sucked in and really liked it . There are just a few things that I have that can't give it the 5 star review . It seemed drag just a little in some areas. But over all I really like the book and the twists the author laid out for us . I would say put this on your summer reading list

GOOD MORNING ALL ITS TUESDAY

Good Tuesday all , just coming off a three day weekend. Today we are reviewing a book I just got on my kindle this morning but have been waiting for it. KEEP HER IN PIECES  by Stella Price

                      BOOK BLURB
Keith Miller, ex roadie and recently deceased lieutenant in the US Army, asks from beyond the grave for one favor from Shades, and that’s to take his sister on the next tour with them. Keeping her away from her current headache is paramount, and he knows she’s going to need not only friends to deal with his death, but family as well. He never had better family by choice than Shades, including his blood brother, Chandler.

And Chandler Holms has it bad for his best friend’s kid sister. Gone is the girl with pigtails and awkwardness, and in her place is a bona-fied hottie complete with tattoos and a heart stopping body. Seeing her again brought his feelings to the fore. For a while he was trying to fight them in respect of his best friend, but now he’s faced with the reality that the girl is everything he’s ever wanted.

Rory Miller has been in love with her brother’s best friend since before she knew what a crush was. Chandler has been the focus of every waking fantasy she’s ever had, but she convinced he still sees her as the young girl that followed him around as a kid, the girl he was forever getting out of scrapes.

The final wishes of one man are going to set the two on a path neither expected. Close quarters of a tour bus means neither can hide how they feel. Too bad an obsessed ex wants to ruin it all.

                                             MY REVIEW
OMG  I have been waiting for this book, since I finished  Pin Your Wings . It showed up on my kindle this morning so I grabbed my green tea latte and started reading . I could not put it down . I needed to know what would happen between Rory and Chandler. It starts where pin leaves off . Keith the ex roadie, who has just passed away . He wants to see his sister happy and Chandler is the man that he wants her with . They are set on a path that will unite their hearts and finally get to say good by to their best friend and brother .
The band is back together and on another tour, with a new merch girl. The characters both human and supernatural are entwined together again. Rory is such a sweet character, who has been put through the ringer with her brother's death and a crappy ass boyfriend. She does have an inner strength that starts to shine through as she becomes a sexy strong woman with a strong sense of herself and she ends up with the right man for her . Chandler is the sexy bad ass drummer for Shades but he has be pining for his best friends sister for a long time now and he is also having a hard time dealing with her brothers and his best friend's death. He tries to be tough but he also has such a soft side that he shows Rory. They make the perfect couple and fall in love in spite of the grief they share.
The rest of the band is there also , Dante XXid, Saffron , Nyx Declan Tosh and the rest oh you can not forget Rick and the a rest of the glimmer frog family.  I love all of these characters they seem like such a great family. I would love to hang out on the Shades bus with them .
Jack on the other hand , I would love to just throttle him and his skanky two timing ways . This is the guy your parents warned you about . You just want to smack him upside the head with a very hard two by four. Yes he is that slimy and you will want to punch him in the throat.
I started this book this morning and finished it in 3 hours . I was that into this book. It was like getting back together with some old friends . They are still as quirky as they were in all the other books , still getting up to no good and having fun. I love this author's wicked sense of humor , especially when she is talking about what one character would do to a clown. I laughed when I read that cause I hate clowns and it made me feel better lol.
She takes us on a magical journey in between tour dates and shows us what it is like to be in love with the one person you are meant to be with . But, she does it in her wise cracking style that is totally Stella Price . So if you want a great summer read , you need to read the 13 SHADES series
Great reads for an afternoon at the lake . Check it out you will be in for a great treat.

PERFECT VICTIM by Jan Christensen

                    BOOK BLURB
A few days after Sylvia Leominster is murdered, private investigator Paula Mitchell interviews Sylvia's fiancé in their small-town Rhode Island jail. Warren Wade's fingerprints are all over the murder weapon, he has no alibi, and Sylvia broke up with him the night she was killed. After another young woman friend of Sylvia's is bludgeoned to death, Paula is dismayed when the police keep Warren in jail. They claim the second murder could have been committed by a copy-cat and remind her Warren's fingerprints are still on the weapon that killed Sylvia.

Working with her best friend who often hires Paula to investigate cases and who is Warren’s lawyer, Paula searches for answers. Paula and her computer guru lover narrow down the suspects to the victim's friends. The group is led by a mesmeric young man with political ambitions. Paula doesn’t trust him, especially when she learns that all of Sylvia's friends have lied during her interviews. At the preliminary hearing, some answers begin to emerge. Paula zeros in on the killer and sees firsthand how friendship and loyalty can be used for personal gain. With Warren’s freedom on the line, she has to find a way to capture the real killer. But in doing so, she doesn't realize she’s putting herself and her own best friend in danger.

First in a series featuring Paula as a feisty private investigator.

                MY REVIEW
Jan Christensen is fast becoming one of my favorite authors . In her new book we meet Paula Mitchell a tough as nails private investigator who is trying to solve who killed Sylvia Leominister.
She and her band of friends is trying to find out who killed Sylvia but her friends are lying and witness's are dying. They need to find a way to figure out who the killer is before Paula and her best friend end up getting hurt .
I love Paula and her best friend Geri . Paula is a tough but lovable private investigator, who is working in small town Rhode Island . She is a no nonsense kind of woman that is shy of love but will go to the ends of the earth to help a friend out. She is the kind of character that you want to read about in a book. She is strong but is human at the same time . She cares for her friends and wants to see them safe . Her friend Geri is a tough of nails attorney and is the person that Paula goes to.
Steve is a computer guru and Paula's well I guess you would say he is Paula's constant . He is a patient  man and is in love with Paula , she just needs to realize that . The supporting cast of characters are a rag tag bunch that you will giggle and laugh with. Most of them are the friends that are all in on the murder . You have to read and figure it out , I was leaning one way and then some one else popped up and I thought they did it .
Jan takes us on a fun filled ride in this book. There are strong female characters that you will want to read. I really liked this story, I loved the way the characters played well against each other . You don't figure out who the murderer is until just about the end. And when you realize it , you will slap yourself and go. Wow who knew . The author does lay out a pretty good trail of crumbs that make you go , hmmmm maybe it is him . Then you go nope it can't be him, you will get sucked into the story. I read this book in an afternoon , that is how wrapped up I got. So if you want a light hearted mystery with some great strong kick ass female leads . This is the series for you . So check it out and add it to your summer reading list . I promise you will not be disappointed

                MY REVIEW
The words that come to mind when I read this book was holy and awesome. This is a brand new author for me and honestly I couldn't put it down . I started reading and was on the edge of me seat the whole time . He starts off by dropping us in the middle of a big event and work our way back to the basics of the case . The next thing we know we are in the middle of the biggest news story of the year and do we really know who the bad guy is or even the good guys.
The characters are so well written  and the author takes us on such a ride with these characters . Ryan Samuels is the private investigator that ends up going back through the case and see what they missed . He is on a mission to prove that his friend is innocent. He is such a strong character that is a no nonsense man that will do almost anything to help out . Now on the other end of the scale there is Tony Michaels. The anchor man dubbed the ANCHOR OF DEATH. He is the one I couldn't figure out . He is very complicated, I couldn't really figure out if he actually committed the murders or is he being framed.  He kind of gave me the creeps when I was reading . In my opinion that is a sign of a good writer. Giving me goose bumps trying to figure out if he actually did it or not. There is also a very strong cast of supporting characters that help take you on a ride that you will never forget . The characters are all strong and very complex.
The author takes us on such a rollercoaster ride . There are twists and turns that will make you scratch your head and go WTH. There are parts of the book that have you thinking ok he did it and then you are thrown for a loop and you think that wait a min maybe he didn't. Then another twist that will make you think that OMG  I think he did it again . I love stories like that, stories that make you think and keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through the book . I couldn't put the book down.  I was turning pages well into the night .  There is one thing though the author does talk a lot of sports in the books . But honestly it doesn't bother me at all . This is an awesome who dun it . So if you are an old time mystery reader or a reader of a good thriller check it out . I know I will be waiting for his next book.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Good Sunday all and to all you moms out there HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. Today we are reviewing THE DUKE'S BEDEVILED BRIDE (royal pains book 2) by Nina Mason.

                      BOOK BLURB
The tawdry tale of the Duke and Duchess of Dunwoody continues…

Maggie Armstrong, the long-lost illegitimate daughter of the heir presumptive to the throne, is bedeviled by her husband's limited definition of fidelity. After observing him in a ménage à trois at the court of King Charles II, she is determined to bring him around to her way of thinking—
by any means necessary.

Robert doesn’t mind being punished for his transgressions. Rather, he enjoys being whipped, especially by his beloved bride. Unfortunately, her heart might not belong to him alone. His younger brother, who he’d sent abroad to clear the way for himself, is coming home sooner than expected, and Maggie’s feelings for Hugh may not be as dead as her husband had hoped.

Both duke and duchess soon learn, to their peril, Hugh Armstrong is not the honorable man they’d been led to believe. Insanely jealous of his brother’s situation, Hugh will stop at nothing to strip Robert of all he holds dear—including his life.

But the real danger for Robert and Maggie is not the villainous Marquess, but the growing friction betwixt Catholics and Protestants in Restoration Era Great Britain.

Can their love survive the trials that await them?

                       MY REVIEW
WOW is the word I would use to describe for The Dukes Bedeviled Bride . This is book 2 in the series and starts off with a bang and a spanking . The Duke and Duchess are at it again. Nina picks up where she left off in book one , the carriage ride home from court . Maggie is in shock from seeing what her husband Robert was doing and she wants to make him pay and bring him around to her way of thinking . But things don't go as planned when Robert is called away and his brother comes home . The man Maggie first cared about , he heart is torn between the two men. She love Robert with all of her heart but Hugh still has a place. But things aren't all as they seem as Robert is called away and Hugh's true colors emerge . What is a poor Duchess to do. As she is humiliated and stripped of all and everything that is held dear to her . Will Robert return in time , will their love survive the brutality of Hugh and his sick and twisted mind.
I absolutely love this series , I was hooked on Robert and Maggie from the very first page of the first book. Nina takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride in this book. She takes us to the edge of our seat with the evils that one man can do and the depths that one woman would do to survive to see her love again. There is jealousy , passion, intrigue, romance and BDSM. The reader is taken on a ride that will have you on a ride of torment , a touch of torture and in the end an enduring love that will make you smile and shed a tear .
I absolutely love these characters . They are complex  and you will fall in love with them . Maggie started out as an innocent young woman in the first book . In the second book we see her as a strong woman that wants her husband back . You see her get a spine of steel as Hugh does horrible things to her and basically strips her of her life. She grows up a lot in this book and comes out the other side a very strong character . I can't wait to see where Nina takes her in the next book.
Robert does some growing in this book also. Even though he is taken away and can't remember much. He does remember that he loves Maggie and he actually does some growing as a man in this book. He will do anything to save his wife .
Hugh is well what can I say about Hugh , he is evil and I mean evil. He is the devil in sheep's clothing. Nina has made the ultimate villain in Hugh. I loved it . He is twisted beyond twisted and there is no redemption for him at all . Trust me there were moments in the book I was like there is nothing that Hugh could do then he does the unthinkable . I will not spoil it for you but its bad I mean really bad . I wanted to kill him myself after that scene.
This is an erotica readers pot of gold . It may be set in the 17th century but there is so much going on. There is something for everyone from BDSM threesomes. and so much more . So if you like a historical story with lots of well written erotica . This series of books are for you . I will suggest that your read book one in the series first as this starts as soon as the first one ends. I would definitely add these to the any summer reading list

Good Saturday all

Good Saturday all , hope your weekend is going great today we are reviewing PARANORMAL FANTASIES A short story anthology by Bree Pierce, Cora A Murray , D.L Colon and Maelee Lynn

                             MY REVIEW

In the first short story is by Bree Pierce  CAIN THE IMMORTAL , the beginning . Is the story of  Cain and Abel .  How Cain got the mark after killing Abel. He is doomed to walk the earth for ever .
This short story didn't attract my attention as most short stories go. I love the characters and the direction she was going but I felt like she left us wanting more. Over all I did like the story I just think she could of flushed it out just a little bit more . The concept is great .

In the second short THE DARK ALPHA  by Cora A Murray . This is the second book in the series . About a were panther / professor that finds his mate and what they go through to get together.
This is a story line with great characters . The author has written about a panther shifter instead of the overdone wolf. Which for me I really liked Wolf shifters are so over done . Its time to bring on the panthers . Reading this story makes me want to read more from this author and see what she can do with a full novel.

In the third short story A GENIE'S KISS  by D.L Colon. We meet Roy Hudson as time traveler. Roy is a scavenger and loves to find stuff from the past . The author has him telling his tale of time travelling to a group of bar patrons . I really liked this short story. The author has us on the edge of our seat as he tells his tale. The bar patrons are friends and are so funny. I would love to see a whole book of Roy Hudson time traveller and his adventures

In the last short story THE LAST FAIRY by MaeLee Lynn. Is about the last dark fairy who finds out that she is the one the ancients have written about. This short story is a great way to end the book. We have fairies dark and light . Love and romance and an ancient scroll that comes true .
The author created some very strong characters that would work really well in a full length novel. I would like to see where she will take these characters .

Over all I really enjoyed this anthology. It is a great afternoon read if you are sitting by the pool in the afternoon.  I hope to see more from these young independent authors in the future . I see great things for all of them .  So if you want a good afternoon read this could be the book for you .

HAPPY HUMP DAY ALL

Welcome to Wednesday or in my life , no amount of coffee will get me motivated day. Today we are reviewing E.V AND ROME  by Giorgina Liguori

                             BOOK BLURB

This is a book about real teenagers, how they speak, what they feel, how they live. E.V. is privileged and unhappy. Rome is poor and sad. The lessons they learn about drugs and sex, about truth and lies, and, most importantly, about how where we come from does not mean that is who we are or what we have to be. One can indeed "re-write your life" and E.V. and Rome do just that. This is a wonderful romance, with a Romeo and Juliet theme, but included are all the trials and tribulations that modern teens face each day. They are so much smarter and wiser than most adults give them credit for. And as usual: Love does conquer all.

                   MY REVIEW

This is a very well written realistic love story between two young people from different sides of the tracks . They meet and fall in love , It is such a sweet realistic portrayal of what love can over come short comings and the pressures of high school. They learn about sex and drugs and the pressures that come along with them as they  navigate through school .
The story is told between two alternate points of view . Which sometimes bugs me when I am reading but Giorgina writes these points of view with such care , you start to feel for each character. You get to see them at their most vulnerable and see how they grow and mature through the book. The cast of characters are diverse also , like the gang of kids you hang around with at school. The joker , the Romeo and the rest.  It broke my heart reading Rome's story, he is such a great kid with a bad mother. He is self reliant and can take care of himself , he wants to protect his mother so badly. Even after his mother kicks him out after attacking her boyfriend . You just want to hug him and make everything better . He pulls himself up and does become self sufficient .  E.V is from a life of wealth and privilege but her mother is so materialistic and she wants the perfect children, little dolls. She is lonely but has her blog where she blogs about her life . E.V is a very smart young woman , and does things her own way , despite her parents .
There is romance in this book , it is not the main focus of the book but it is there. It is sweet and you know you want these kids to make it together. They do talk about sex and the pressure to have it , but they make the smart decision to wait. The author handles their situations with such a dignity, you know she loved them so. She takes them through the trials and tribulations of being a couple and being in high school. She takes us through the pressures of drugs and sex with such dignity .  She knows how to write for the young adult group.
I really liked this book and am going to gift it to some teenagers that I know. This book should be a read for the teen ager in your life . It is sweet and innocent with the perils of today's high school.
So check it out and recommend it to any teen ager that you know . I know I will be gifting it to a few I know .

                  MY REVIEW
Ok this is book three in Virgil's series and when I got this book . I started reading right away and well it is a book that you can't put down. I mean I started this book in the afternoon . I started reading and was immediately taken to a very dark place . Virgil heads to the Fordham institute for the Criminally insane . Where he is thrown into a  murder and has to interview the residents . As they start interviewing each patient, their stories are sadder and sadder with each patient. Can Virgil find the killer before he strikes again and before Virgil looses his mind .
Wow Catt takes Virgil to the eeriest place on earth , as he works this case you feel like he is being drawn in. The stories of each of the residents is so sad and eerie. Each patients character is more and more sad with each story . Lets just say that she ruined pot roast for me . I will let you read that for yourself . You will start to care for each and very patient in the institute . Virgil just keeps getting better and better with each book . I just fall for him more and more  with each book . He is a no nonsense guy that puts his skills to the test with every case he goes on . I just wanted to hug him while he was on this case . You could see him doubting himself as he  worked the case . Like always he comes out on top and captures his bad guy with good detective work and common sense.
I am loving this series and can't wait for the next book . I love how Catt can take us to the depths of hell and bring us out the other side . I mean yes she ruined some meals for me but I will tell you . You will cry , cringe yell at your kindle and come out the other side  cheering . Virgil will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time you read . You may think you have everything out but then BAM  Catt throws you for a loop. Yes she knocked me on my ass with this book . I couldn't put it down, finished it in one sitting . I so can't wait to read book 4 in the series . I know she loves to entwine real life murder cases into her stories . I think that is a reason why I love reading  Virgil's books . There is a touch of truth in each book . I so can not wait to dive into book 4 in the series , Virgil is becoming my number one book hero . I want to see where she will take me next and what will she destroy for me now . So if you want to read a great series that will take you to the depths of hell and bring you back out the other side , cheering. Virgil Mclendon books are for you
Check them out
