                            MY REVIEW.
This is the second book in the Shaw Case Files. I was excited when this book came out . All the characters back and chasing another serial killer. Who is making wax statues out of men an posing them all around the city. They are still reeling from the last serial killer and the new one springs up . Kissney an Levi are fighting an uphill battle and need to find the killer before more people go missing . There is a lot more personal stuff going on in this book also . Kissney is torn between two men . She doesn't know what to do or if she should have either of them.  Now will she find the new killer and will her personal life straighten itself out before it is too late .
All the original characters are back , Kissney is the tough detective that will not take any shit from any man. But sometimes in this book she seem to me to be a little whiney and a little dependant on the men in her life . She is such a bad ass woman I wanted to see more bad ass . She does not fail in tracking down the serial killer and does put the men in there place a time or two. Levi is her partner and he is love with Kissney and is trying not to  be such a dick in this book . They work well together and rely on each other a lot . Levi does a lot of growing up in this book and we see him taking charge and care of Kissney more and more .  Now Kane the other man in Kissney's life is all alpha male and ruggedly good looking . He is a special ops guy that ends up going on assignment and well lets just say when he comes back he isn't such a nice guy. I must say that the characters were well written and they all come with their own set of problems that they must all work out . Which makes them likable to everyone .
The author has found her niche writing mystery novels . She kept me reading all night long . The story was great and the premise of the hot wax was a great new way to murder people. To make pieces of art out each and every one was just great . But I did kind of feel a disconnect with the characters in various parts of the book . I just couldn't connect with them in some parts, maybe it was just me though.  Over all I loved this book and the author kept me reading all night long . The twists and turns will keep you guessing . Trust me I thought I had it all figured out and then bam the author takes us in a totally different direction . The person  I thought was the killer wasn't the killer at all . Which hand me reeling going WTH it has to be this person . Trust me you will be going omg and wth through out this book. I recommend this book for those who love a good read that will make you think . it could give you a book hang over .

WELCOME TO MONDAY ALL

Welcome to the Monday after Easter , I hope that you all have recovered from your food comas and looking for a great fast read to get you through the evening. . A BITE OF FROST by Gena D Lutz is just that book.

                             BOOK BLURB

After Jericha Frost is thrust into a paranormal existence she knows nothing about, she learns that the scorching blood from an infuriating dragon-shifter is her only hope of survival.

                             MY REVIEW
This a winter/ Christmas novella that revolves around Jack Frost and his daughter and the hot dragon guardian named Conner.  We start the story as we find that Jack frost's time as the ice king is coming to an end and he must transfer his power of the winter to his daughter . Jericha Frost is in for a surprise when she gets whacked in the back with the bolt that Jack sends her . Now she has to contend with all these supernatural powers and also  hot blooded dragon shifter who is her mate . Will she come to her senses and realize that the dragon is her only one an only and that he can save her before its too late .
The characters in this novella are different . We have Jericha who is a mixture of quirky and seriousness.  She is independent and really doesn't want to have anything to do with  Connor. She is taking her new powers in stride but soon realizes that she needs and wants more . Connor is one hot as sin alpha dragon . You don't know if you want to yell at him for his over bearing ways or climb him like a spider monkey cause he is just so damn hot .  He is a blue dragon and a guardian of an ancient blade. He is the epitome of hot male and realizes that he just can't take . You see him change to a more caring man towards the end of the book . I can't say anymore cause I am so not giving spoilers . But you might want to take a second look at Santa too cause boy oh boy he isn't your kids Santa Claus .
This is a fast read , you can read it in one night . I really loved the premise of the story and the characters are awesome . I laughed and snorted at the antics of the three elves . They were hilarious .  I just wished that it was just a little bit longer , I wanted more of Connor an Jericha . really wanted to see them go at it.  Over all I  really enjoyed this novella and laughed and cheered as I read. So if you want a nice fun quick read check it out .

GOOD MONDAY MORNING ALL

Good Monday morning all , today we are going to review a quirky good read by Robert Garner McBearty . Welcome to THE WESTERN LONSOME SOCIETY

                           BOOK BLURB

In this hilarious, poignant, over-the-top Western, Jim O’Brien writes the quixotic saga of his ancestors who grew up with a tribe of Comanches. As his grip on reality loosens, O’Brien weaves into the tale modern day stalkers, drug dealers, secret agents, strippers, a mad linguist, an imaginary therapist, Ernest Hemingway, and an RV trip through the soul of the West. Having been displaced, each of the characters must embark on the great American quest for a place to truly call home. Evoking the Western drama of Cormac McCarthy, the family sensibility of Kent Haruf, and the wacky, magical humor of Christopher Moore, McBrearty displays his storytelling prowess and wit in his debut novel.

                        MY REVIEW
When I started reading this book I didn't know what I was getting into. But as I started reading I got sucked right into the story . This is one quirky funny read that will have you laughing out loud at some of the things that happen . I love the main character in this story and how he weaves the story of his ancestors in with the story of his life.
The main character Jim O Brien is a college professor who has been one upped by a student . His literary aspirations are getting the better of him as he tries to write about his ancestors . But as you read you find him start to loose grip with reality and then that is where the hilarity commences . Between reading about his ancestors living with the Comanche's and Jim mixing the stories with what is happening in everyday life . Jim is hilarious and you want to hug him and laugh with him as he handles his mind .
This actually has three stories within one. The author takes us on a hilarious ride through one man's crazy brain . You will laugh so hard in some parts . This is the first novel I have read from this author and I was quite happy with the outcome . I loved every second of this book . So if you want a quirky read that will keep you entertained until the end . Check it out

                        MY REVIEW
Wow is the first word that comes to mind when I read this book. It started out as a criminal and lawyer book with the young lawyer finding some new evidence and the death row inmate that wanted out . This is the story of Tobias and Jesse .  Tobias is on death row for murdering a family , and he is bored and wants out . Enter Jesse a young lawyer who wants to help him out . They meet via the pen pal program . They work tirelessly to get him out , but oh there is so much more to this story then him getting out of jail . Will they both survive the ordeal .
I couldn't believe how complex these characters were . Tobias is not your run of the mill inmate . He is a conniving sob that just wants to left alone. He is such a asshole, you really want to just string him up by his fingernails . I was actually really creeped out by Tobias .  He gave me the wiles from the very beginning of the story. What he did to end up there , I was actually cheering that he was behind bars . Then in walks Jess a young lawyer and a woman. She seems to be very naïve at the beginning of the book, she seems to buy into all the lines and lies that Tobias is telling her . As we read more into the story you see there is something stronger and she is hiding a few secrets of her own. They are great characters with such great flaws.

I couldn't put this book down , I was on the edge of my seat all the way through .  The author takes us on an emotional journey.  The story is not your everyday happily ever after book. It has so many twists and turns. When you think you know which way the book is going bam the author takes us in a totally opposite direction. There never is a dull moment in the book between trying to figure out Jess is up to and  wanting to strangle Tobias. Which for me was every other page it seemed . But the twist the author put in at the end blew me away . I never saw that coming at all and was floored but happy when I read it .  I was so blown away by what the author did at the end that I actually cheered for her .  I will tell you this , this isn't you happily ever after , there is lust blood shed and redemption and revenge . You will get a book hang over reading this book so be prepared to curl up and read the day away .

GOOD MORNING WORLD ITS WEDNESDAY

Good Wednesday everyone , man have I got a book for you today . I binge read this book in like a day and a half. THE DARK AGE ( Marlowe Gentry book 2) by Dallas Mullican.

                           BOOK BLURB

The Heretic knows they lied. Now, he will make them confess.

The first murder, a small town pastor burned at the stake, seems personal; an act of rage committed on impulse. But when a second victim is found brutally tortured to death, Detective Marlowe Gentry realizes he’s dealing with a serial killer who is drawing inspiration from the Inquisition: The Heretic.

The killer’s methods grow more gruesome with each victim. He’s escalating, racing toward an endgame. How far will The Heretic go to punish those who betrayed him? And can Marlowe stop him before the ultimate trial?

                         MY REVIEW
This book had me from the very first page , I couldn't put this book down. The author drops us right into the action. Detective Gentry is holding it together by a hair . Ever since the seraphim killers demise. His life is improving , his daughter is on the road to recovery , but is still struggling and has a long way to go . He has a love life which is going pretty good so far, but things are all that rosy between his daughter and his girlfriend . Which could just throw a whole kink into his life. When he has to serve a warrant and that is where everything goes wrong on so many levels . There is a mafia boss after him and a new serial killer on the loose, what a man to do . The killer is taking pages out of the inquisition and killing people in the worse possible ways. With each death becoming more and more gruesome . Will they find the killer and before all hell breaks loose .
The characters in this book are exactly what you want in a good thriller book. They are complex but flawed.  Marlowe is such a complex guy , he is trying to get his life back together with his new girlfriend and his daughter . You can see him struggling to keep the both of them from killing each other, and its starting to take a toll. You don't know if you want to hug him and take care of him or kick him in the ass.  There is a crazy Cartel boss Caesar Ramirez who is looking to get revenge on because of his sons death . Which just adds to the intensity level in this book and one of the many things that are going on . The starting of the Violent Crime Unit bring Spence, Koop and special agent Kline in . They are all pivotal in catching the killer. They go through some really horrible stuff and see so much while trying to catch the Heretic . Who in my opinion is even more evil then the seraphim killer in book one . He is one messed up dude, and taking revenge on anyone and everyone that has wronged him . He uses the pages from the Inquisition to do it . He is one cruel evil dude that well needed to be punished big time.
I must say that this book is a whole heck of a lot darker then the first book . The author takes us on a roller coaster ride that will leave you breathless.  The way the author just takes us and puts in the middle of the action from the very first page.  The characters are more flawed and the murders are even more gruesome.  I couldn't put this book down , and I found myself holding my breath a few times and also asking myself WTH and OMG  come on catch this sicko. Which to me proves that the author has it right and is taking down the path and wanting us to decide for ourselves. Now if this book blew me away and made me read well into the night . Giving me the biggest book hangover to date . I can just imagine what book three will do to me. I can't wait to see what more this author has to say and where he is going to take us next. I will tell you if you start this book be prepared to read long into the night . Way to go Dallas you rocked it again. Bring on book 3

GOOD MONDAY MORNING ALL

Good Monday morning all. I have been pondering how to do the reviews on the next two books I have read this weekend. They are book one and two in a series so I decided to do both books on one blog post .  Today we are going to review STAKE OUT  and MIRANDA'S RIGHTS  by Lily Luchesi.

                                BOOK BLURB

In a city overrun with the undead, an ex-cop is given a chance to get revenge...

Danny Mancini is on a case, following a murder suspect. When he catches him, he finds out that the perp isn't even human: he's a 200 year old rogue vampire!
The department doesn't believe him, and puts him on early retirement, despite his many years of service to the Chicago Police Department, which sends him into a downward spiral.
Two years later, Danny gets an invitation from the beautiful, young and very attractive Detective Angelica Cross to join a secret branch of the FBI to help her track down Vincent, the wayward vamp.
But renegade werewolves, meddling immortal witches and Danny's strange visions of a life lived a century ago with Angelica make things more difficult than it should be.

                       MY REVIEW
STAKE OUT is the first in the series and sets up the story really well . These are the first set of books I have read and was in love with the characters from the very first page . The author puts a neat twist on the vampire genre . Which to me is a good thing, you need to have a twist every now and then or the genre will grow stale. The characters are complex but yet flawed. The story is different and when you start to read you will be cheering for Danny . He stumbles onto a crime scene that defies all logic and no one believes him and basically fire his butt off the force . Until the day a beautiful FBI agent walks into his life and turns it upside down and brings him into the world of vampires, werewolves and witches. Will they survive and will they survive the feelings that they have for each other
The characters are so complex and yet you see the flaws that they each have . Danny Mancini is a veteran detective has seen some weird things going on . He is a tough detective that you can't help but love . He is brash and hard working , trying to put together what he saw. You see him go through so much in this book. He has so much trouble believing in some things and then starts to realize that holy crap there is more out there in the world. He also realizes a few other things like he is a sensitive and can see things. He is the type of man that one moment you want to hug him and cuddle him and then the next min you want to climb him like a spider monkey .  Angelica is such a strong female character . She is the head of an off shoot of the FBI  but there is more to this branch of the government . She is strong and intelligent and a fierce. But she has her secrets that come up in the novella. She is reluctant to tell Danny but as the novella goes on you see them start to fall for each other . And they fall hard, its awesome to see them head into a romance fast , like all novellas you want to see them develop the romance fast. There is also a great villain named Vincent that is going around killing people and there is more to him then meets the eye too . There is also a connection between Angelica and Vincent that we find out about as we read . But there is more to every story then meets the eyes and these characters are going through it all. Hope they all come out the other side better .
This was a great fast read for me. I love the story line and the characters were well developed and complex. The story left us with a cliff hanger but the second book was out right away . There was one little thing that had me scratching my head , Danny gave up his alcoholism really fast . I wish the author would of let us see him struggle for just a bit  Over all this was a great set up for the rest of the story . The author laid out the ground work on the characters really well and the story has a great twist on the genre . You will love the premise and the characters you will fall in love with them . So if you want a good read , you can read at the beach this summer , check out THE STAKE OUT

NOW ONTO THE SECOND BOOK IN THE SERIES
                            BOOK BLURB

The dead don’t always rest easy...
Retired detective, Danny Mancini, is haunted by nightmares after he found out that paranormal creatures exist. All he wants is to forget them…especially a certain half-vampire. When cursed werewolves show up trying to kill him, he is forced to go back to the Paranormal Investigative Division for help against a powerful old enemy. What he was not expecting was a dead ex showing back up after twenty-six years.

                                              MY REVIEW
In book two we start off right where book one left off . Poor Danny is trying so hard not to remember what has happened to him at the hands of the supernatural . He also wants to forget the sexy half vampire / FBI agent Angelica Cross. She haunts his nights and days as he drinks himself into a haunting bliss . Until the day the deformed werewolves decide to try and kill him , so back to the P.I.D and the woman he loves . to make matters worse , Danny finds out some really interesting news and sees a ghost from his past . But she isn't a ghost.  And you thought you were having a bad day our poor Danny is having the worse day of his life . Will they survive to find their way back to each other and will the new threat stay dead this time .
I must say that the characters in the second book are just as strong as they were in the first book . Angelica is still kick ass but we also now see a vulnerable side to her . We see her fight to keep her emotions in check . When it comes to Danny and what is happening . She is still in love with him . We see her become stronger and more determined to keep everyone safe , we also see her become emotional when people start dying around her .  Danny needs a kick in the ass in this book. He is heartbroken man that is trying and doing everything in his power to forget . He is also a man still in love, when he is pulled back into the P.I D. he is torn between Miranda and Angelica . A past love an the love that he is destined to be with for now and always . You see him struggle with every thing that is thrown against him. He is tired of being the constant target for Fiona and just wants it to end . I was so happy when he finally realized that Angelica was the one for him. You see him come back to the man he was. Miranda was just one character I really wanted to kick in the butt . She was whiny and acted like a spoiled brat . I just really wanted to stake her myself , the chip on her shoulder was huge and she didn't love anyone but herself . She proved that on many occasions in the book . I wont tell you what happens but you will cheer when it does .  Fiona is back and more dangerous then ever. She wants Danny and she wants Angelica dead and wont stop until she accomplishes that . I actually kind of like Fiona , she is badass in the evil department . I can't wait to read more about Fiona and the rest of the gang .
What I really liked about this book , it started right where book one left off . The author did a great job taking us on an adventure . We also get to see more of Angelica's past and the love story between her and a werewolf.   The twist at the end hand me going OMG never saw that coming at all . The book was a great fast read that kept me on my toes the whole way through . So I suggest that you read Miranda's Rights , you wont be disappointed

HAPPY THURSDAY ALL

I was so excited the other day going through amazon and found a book I actually haven't read by one of my favorite authors . I so jumped at the chance to read and boy I was so glad I did . Reckless ( Shattered Sisters book 1) by Maggie Shayne.

                            BOOK BLURB

True Crime Writer Toni Rio follows a wise guy straight from his brief stint behind bars to his execution in a dirty alley. When his two killers see her witnessing their gruesome work, she runs, but she doesn’t get far.

FBI agent Nick Manelli has to keep his cover intact and keep the sexy witness alive, and there’s only one way he can think of to do both. He has to kidnap her.

RECKLESS (formerly Reckless Angel) was the first published novel of romance superstar Maggie Shayne’s stellar career. This romantic thriller, a RITA Award nominee that garnered raves from RT Book Reviews, has been completely revamped for today’s readers.

Maggie Shayne writes wonderful romance with page turning thrills that have a permanent spot on my keeper shelf.”
~New York Times Bestselling Author Karen Robards

Don’t miss Book 2 of THE SHATTERED SISTERS series, FORGOTTEN.

                         MY REVIEW
What do you get when you put a undercover FBI agent and a crime novelist together in a situation that they shouldn't be in . You get Reckless a sexy action packed read full of suspense, drama and there is always time for some romance. Let me introduce you all to Nick Manelli and Toni Rio. The couple at the center of the story. Toni follows the witness from a crime family into the back alley to see him get murdered. Now it up to Nick to keep her safe and keep his cover intact with the mob. Will they survive each other and will they find out the truth about each other before its too late .
I loved this book , they say this was one of her first books but if its an old story . I must say that is a great story that she revamped. The story was engrossing and I was totally into the story from page one . The characters were complex but totally likeable and you wanted them to get together from the very first pages .  The action was fast paced and really kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time you were reading . Between the mob story and the kidnapping of Toni the pages just turned themselves . Every story needs romance too and Maggie throws that in there too , she lets it flow naturally to the story line and doesn't force it at all . You were cheering when they finally got together and finally ended up together .
The characters of Nick and Toni were complicated but also very likeable. Toni is a no nonsense girl who would kick your ass if you did something to hurt her or her family . But she is also hiding something. She is my type of girl, you don't know if you want to friend her or run from her . She is that strong of a character . She doesn't need anyone to take care of her so she thinks until she runs into Nick literally. He is the sexy FBI agent that is uncover in the mob . He is a true alpha male, hot sexy and dangerous all rolled up into one man . He is hiding a whole mess of things that he works through as we read through the book . You can see that they both have trust issues that they work through. The sassiness of Toni and the gruffness of Nick  work as a couple . When the heat is on and push comes to shove they are truly there for each other and will do almost anything to keep the other alive . Even almost get killed themselves . Carl is the best friend and fellow FBI agent that helps Nick out. He is a sweet guy that you want to protect and keep out of trouble . And boy he gets into some trouble .  Lou and Viper are the quintessential mob guys , Viper was a greasy no good that I really just wanted to punch in the head and Lou reminded me of a creepy used car salesman .
I was so engrossed in this book , I loved every second. The book had such a good story and flowed so well . If  Maggie Shayne wasn't already one of my favorite authors she would be after this book. I read this book in one night and I had a book hangover after wards . In my opinion that is a sign of a great book. It kept me curled up on the couch reading well into the night. Maggie Shayne can weave a great tale full of suspense and drama and then throws romance in there as icing on the cake . So if you want a great read that might give you a book hangover . Check it out , you will not be disappointed

welcome to the calm in between my storms

Good Wednesday all , I am back after a migraine and getting my tattoos yesterday . I am back to review a really good short book THE SCARLETT CURSE BY Toneye Eyenot

                              BOOK BLURB

Scarlett, bearer of The Sacred Blade Of Profanity for nigh on three hundred years, untouched by linear time, unhindered by the confines of space, nevertheless has grown weary. The ancient dagger, crafted in sorcery over eight thousand years ago, requires the blood of the profane to sustain its power. Scarlett has killed scores over the centuries and will continue for as long as she possesses The Blade.
Her chance meeting with young Dera, an 11 year old mute from the outskirts of town, throws both of their worlds into chaos, as Scarlett returns to the busy town of Mills Wall, to complete a failed attempt on her most elusive target to date. Could this child be the downfall of Scarlett? The demise of The Sacred Blade Of Profanity? Dark and troubled times are all that is foreseeable for both Scarlett and the mysterious little girl. Indeed for all of Mills Wall.
                            MY REVIEW
This book had me sucked in from the first page . It is a novella and didn't take me long to read but I was glued to every page . The story starts out with action and doesn't stop . The action starts on page one and keeps building until the end . So let me introduce you to Scarlett and her dagger . She has owned the dagger for over 300 years and will continue to kill as long as she owns the dagger .  Until the meeting with a young mute girl that could be the downfall of both Scarlett and the dagger .
The characters in this book are very complex and very dark. You just don't know what is going to happen. Scarlett is so complex, she is a hunter and a killer but you do get to see a different side to her when she see Dre . You want to find out more a lot more about Scarlett an why she has the dagger . She is so mysterious and dark. I really loved her. Dre is another character that we just don't know about . She seems to be innocent but what is with her attachment to Scarlett and why did she show up at that time. The rest of characters are all so dark and very unique. They aren't your ordinary everyday characters .
This is a dark complex novella that will take you right into the action and keep you in the action all the way through . I will tell you it is dark and very unpredictable. You will think you are heading one way and then the author takes you in a totally different way . This is only the beginning for this series. I am expecting it to go darker and more action packed .So if you  want a fast paced action filled book that will keep you on the edge of your seat . Check out this novella , I will say you will be pretty amazed . I can't wait for the conclusion .

                            MY REVIEW
OK this book kind of hit home with me , cause I was always the girl with the not skinny body. I so felt for Daphne when she walked into the gym for the first time . All those perfect bodies are so intimidating. Then walks in the man of your dreams but you just don't know it yet . After a visit to his dad's grave , Apollo has an instant attraction to Daphne and trains her , and the sparks fly and boy do they fly. As they work at their friendship there is something more under the surface.
I absolutely enjoyed this book , the characters were so sweet and you can't help but fall in love with each character. Daphne just reminded me of most of the women in the world , we don't know how beautiful we are and we always have that one part of our body we hate. She was so sweet and so likeable . You felt all her insecurities and you just wanted to hug her in the beginning . As you read though you start cheering for her and you see her transform from shy little church mouse to a woman that is sexy and so self assured . Apollo is the alpha male that is hurting from his loosing his dad and tired of just being a lay to all the self absorbed skinny women in the gym . He wants something more from his life and when he sees Daphne , he just knows that she is the woman for him .  You can see him actually grow up as you read into the book. He doesn't care that she is a little cushy , she is the softness to his hardness .  Just watching him with Daphne is actually swoon worthy , he is protective and dominate but also he lets go to be himself around her . He doesn't have to be the fake muscle head like he is around the people in the gym . I really like this couple together and as individuals . They were sweet and sexy .
The person I wanted to punch was Fiona , the receptionist at the club. She so reminded me of the mean girls at school. Thinking herself as perfect and no one else can be her friend . She just got under my skin and took me back to high school.
This was a great afternoon read for me . You are taken on a sexy sweet ride through pain and a bit of prejudice . There are scenes that will make you laugh out loud , squat fucks to be precise. You will giggle over the inadequacy of each character and how they get through them . The only thing I wish the author would of done cause I wanted it lol. I really wanted Daphne to have it out with Fiona. It would of just been the icing on the cake for me . The author has written a quirky , sweet read that will have you cheering for the couple one min and the next min you will be swooning and trying to cool down your kindle . So if you want a sweet happily ever after read that you can read in an afternoon , Check out TAKING BACK BEAUTIFUL . You won't be disappointed .

HAPPY THURSDAY ALL

Happy Thursday all , today I am going to review a book that I have been waiting to read for awhile now. Its the fourth book in the Savannah witches series . But it is actually a prequel in a way to the whole story. JILO by J.D Horn

                            BOOK BLURB

Aged Mother Jilo is wise in the ways of magic…but once upon a time, she was just a girl.
1950s Georgia: King Cotton has fallen. Savannah is known as the “beautiful woman with a dirty face,” its stately elegance faded by neglect, its soul withering from racial injustice and political corruption.
Young Jilo—fiercely independent, intelligent, and ambitious, but thwarted by Savannah’s maddeningly genteel version of bigotry—finds herself forced to embrace a dark power that has pursued her family for generations, an ancient magic that may prove her salvation…or her undoing.
Explore the fascinating history of one of the Witching Savannah series’ most vivid and beloved characters, as the resourceful and determined Jilo comes of age, strives to master formidable magical skills in the face of overwhelming adversity, and forges her strange destiny against the turbulent backdrop of the civil rights struggle in the American South.

                                                    MY REVIEW
I was so excited to find that J.D Horn was writing this book. Jilo was  my favorite character in all the other books, she was the epitome of what magic was and how it helped and hurt people.  Well we start at the beginning in 1950s Georgia where we meet a young Jilo, just in diapers , dropped off at her grandma's house with her two older sisters . We watch her grow up in the first part of the book . Trying to figure out the power that is hidden inside of her. Mother Mary her grandma does everything in her power to keep the magic away from Jilo. There is so much going from the prejudice of the times and the feeling of loss of the family and friends . The second part of the book has us following Jilo as a young woman , trying to make it in the world still full of prejudice . You find her struggling and trying to be good . Home does call her and she must come to terms with what all that means as the magic finally finds her and turns her into the aged old wise woman that we all know and love ,
The characters in this book are familiar yet we find out so much more about Jilo and her family . Jilo is such a complex character that shows us there is more to a person then what is on the outside . She was a strong character from the very beginning, even in diapers . We see her wielding the power. As she grows , she becomes a very hard headed stubborn woman that will do almost anything to survive , even take a nursing position when she really wanted to be a doctor. I loved Jilo cause she had such an aura of strength around her . She fought for everything and got it by sheer determination. Trust me you will like her . The other characters just add to Jilo and her strength , they all teach her things and help her along the way.
The author weaves a tale that will keep you reading well into the night . He finally lets us get to know Jilo. She has been such a mystery in the other books . He shows us the hatred and the turbulence of the times as he weaves his tale . He masterfully told the story in two parts , as I like to call them the early years and the and the years of Jilo . The trip we go on is rough and some times sad.  You will laugh and yes you will shed a tear or two . The author has taken Jilo and made her human and not such a mystery . So if you want a great book to read check it out . I promise you will fall for Jilo and the rest of the Savannah witches

LETS HEAD TO KOKAMO'S CAFE

Are you all ready to head to KOKOMO'S CAFE a small coffee shop in Flagler beach where everyday is a new adventure and a new cast of characters come out to play . Maybe we can buy a coffee for the author Armand Rosamilia .

                           BOOK BLURB

Flagler Beach Florida is quite the small town, eclectic and quirky... and filled with many unique characters.

Kokomo's Café owners Mac and Ginny see their fair share day in and day out. Come meet the locals and the tourists!

Contemporary Fiction and a fun beach read! Includes Ten Short Stories set in Kokomo's Café!

                          MY REVIEW
This is a fun read , a great read for the beach this summer .  There are ten short stories within the book . All ten stories are entwined but are so good to read on their own. I love all the colorful characters that come in and visit Mac and Ginny on a daily basis . Everyone from the bikers to the guy in the corner all by himself not saying a word to anyone , just typing away on this computer . You never know who you meet either townie or vacationer .
The characters are so diverse and kind of quirky. But the central characters Mac and Ginny are living the dream in a small beach town in Florida . They are such a sweet and loving couple that really take an interest in what is happening to the customers in their town. The rest of the cast of characters all have their own distinct qualities about them . We have the townies that are there before the place even opens .  And the vacationers that come and go as they take a break from the farmers market across the road or the beach . Mac and Ginny know them all and like any good parents they keep tabs on all their kids . There are a few characters that you think are there to do bad but as you read you find that they are there to help someone in pain . Then there is the mystery guy in the corner . I feel he is the unsuspecting narrator in this story as he appears in almost every story .  Or he is just a voyageur watching the soap opera that is called life .
I can't believe it when I found these books on line , I found Armand through his horror and zombie books . Who knew he had a sweet side that could write a sweet set of book based in a small town . It is well written and the flow is good and he makes me want to go to Florida and find the café, order a cup of coffee and a sandwich and just people watch.  He does a very good telling of what small town life is like and the people living in that small town . I can't wait to read the rest of the series . I love Armand for his horror books now I think I found a sweet way to spend the summer .  So come on down to KOKOMO CAFE grab a seat and check out the scenery . You never know you could become a quirky character in the mystery man's book . Check out this sweet series ,  I know you will not be disappointed
