WELCOME TO MONDAY

Good morning all and welcome to Monday I hope you all had a great weekend and are doing ok . Today I have a Christmas book for you with a second chance at love . Check out A LENOX CHRISTMAS by VJ Lee.

                             BOOK BLURB

Unlike her sister Lenox Green has never been beautiful. Her frizzy orange hair, pasty freckle-covered skin, and dull brown eyes were only vessels to her true beauty—sadly, very few got close enough to her to see that

The scars that marred her face kept people at bay from truly seeing her inner self.

Dean Meyers was the only one, other than her brother, who fought for her, standing up to her bullies.

When she was with Dean, he helped her forget the bullies and all her flaws. In his eyes, she was beautiful, and in her eyes, he could do no wrong. Even at his worst, she forgave him.

He destroyed her when he married the biggest bully of them all and moved away. Their friendship was ripped apart, and ties were severed.

When snowy Christmas weather blows Dean back into town, he makes it his mission to mend their friendship … can she forgive and forget?

Will the Christmas spirit help her forget that he tossed away every gift she gave him?

It’s going to take more than a Christmas Miracle to help her forget that the only man she would ever love—married her sister.

Christmas with the family was going to be hoot this year.

                       MY REVIEW
When Lenox finds out her sister and her brother n law are coming home for Christmas she was not going to have anything to do with them .When Dean comes to town without Savannah ,Lenox's life is about to change . He is on a mission to mend the rift between him and Lenox and mend their friendship .  Or will the Christmas spirit help mend their hearts . And rekindle the love that they had for each other . But one thing for sure is Christmas is going to be one hell of a ride .

Ok I absolutely adored this story it is a fun Christmas read with a great second chance at romance. Lenox is such a sweet woman, she is one that is sweet but has a spine of steel . She is kind and loving but has been through so much in her life . She never let anything get her down but she is also hiding a secret that no one knows but her . So when she pushed she pushes back . Dean well he is sexy and has a heart as big as all get go but he has so much to make up for . He did Lenox wrong when they were younger and now that he is back he has so much to make up for . There are moments when he is just needing a good slap upside the head well because he is a typical man . We also get some insight from their friends and see how their family is .  Savanah as you read through this book at first you kind of feel for her but as you read you really get a hate on for her . She is evil and I mean evil and you really just kind of want to punch her hard in the face .But she might redeem herself or not. s

This is a book that has so much going on . The author takes us on a fun filled ride that will have you laughing and crying . The characters are well written and complex, and you will cheer for Lenox all the way through out the book . This maybe a Christmas book but it also a second chance romance and a redemption story all rolled into one . I really like this authors writing style and her no nonsense approach to the characters . The only thing that stopped me from a 5 star was it seemed to drag just a tiny bit in some areas and a few other areas it seemed just a little rushed . Over all I did really enjoy this story and would love to see more from these characters . So this is one for your Christmas reading list , check it out you will not be disappointed .

GOOD MONDAY

Well I survived the apocalyptic snow storm this past weekend . I got to do a lot of reading . Boy do I have a book for you . THE WHIPPING GIRL  by Cat Dahman.

                            BOOK BLURB

Elizabeth is attending a foreign university when she is kidnapped and brutally beaten into submission. Over the course of months, she is punished cruelly for disobedience and rewarded with luxurious gifts when she is compliant. Spoiled by opulence, she lives in fear, wondering about her captor’s motives. His only requirements for her are that she improve herself and that she is the perfect dining companion. She is forced to accept and eat the most exotic foods in the world. Can she trade luxury and excitement for poverty and mundane? Has she been groomed to be another person entirely? How much does freedom mean to Elizabeth? What hellish secrets does her captive keep hidden? What is the end game, and what happened to the young women who failed his games? Elizabeth finds that the games go deeper than she imagined, and she knows that if she fails, she may end up the victim of a sex-trafficking ring that wants her. Psychological horror meets high cuisine. Bon Appetit!

                       MY REVIEW

Ok when Elizabeth gets kidnapped from her university, she is finds herself in a cell where she is beaten into submission by a dark and dangerous man . She is being trained to be the perfect dining companion for this man . She has the best food in the world at her fingertips . There is more to this mysterious man . Will she be able to live in the luxury or does she want to go back to her normal life . When she gets deeper into the game he is playing she doesn't want to fail him . She doesn't want to end up a victim of the sex trafficking ring that will do anything to get her .

Ok let me tell you the characters in this book are so well written and complex .  Elizabeth well at the beginning is really naive in thinking that her life was safe and ordinary . As you get to know her you see her come to terms with what her life was like and how much she has grown under the eye of the man who kidnapped her . She really grows and actually blossoms under his eye. David well we really don't get to see into his background . He is mysterious and very in check with himself . He is cultured and refined but there is a loneliness about him that will make you want to know more about him. Like any great bad guy you really want him to redeem himself and fall for the heroine . These characters are so well written you feel like they are right there in the room with you .

This is a book that when you pick it up be prepared to get lost in the story and characters . The author has a way of writing that will have you on the edge of your seat all the way through the book. The characters are so well written and you will love to hate them and then you cheer for them . You might have a strong reaction to what goes on in the book but rest assured that things will be ok . Oh and the author loves to ruin food that you might enjoy she is wicked that way .  This is a book that isn't your happily ever after there are things in this book that might make you cringe and put the book down for a bit and then go back to it . I promise that this book will have you turning pages well into the night . Check it out I promise you will not be disappointed .

WELCOME TO MONDAY ALL

Today I want to share a new book by Cree Storm .FIGHTING HIS FATE

                             BOOK BLURB

When you lose your friends, family and livelihood all because you saw Bigfoot how can that very being convince you that you are his one and only...his mate? That’s what Lake must figure out and fast. He is Bigfoot and Zach is his very angry and jaded mate that hates his kind, but Lake will not give up. Plane crashes, hunters, and the fear of death will not stop him in his quest to get his man.

EXCERPT

Lake watched as the three men walked towards the ranger station. He just hoped the idiots would stay far away until he could get his mate the hell out of there.

Calling upon his senses Lake knew Zach was heading back to the crash site. Rushing to get to him before the others returned or the pricks parents arrived. He was almost to the site when he remembered he couldn’t approach Zach in his Sasquatch form. Transitioning back to his human form he was ill prepared to hear the gasp, “What the fuck?”

Turning Lake realized his fuck up. Zach stood there, rifle hanging down his side, eyes wide and skin pale.

“Zach, let me explain.” Lake said taking a step forward only to stop when Zach stepped back shaking his head.

“What the fuck are you?” Zach rasped out the fear in his voice breaking Lake’s heart.

Sighing heavily, Lake tried taking another step but Zach shocked the hell out of him when he raised the rifle and aimed it at Lake. “Take another step towards me and I’ll blow your fucking balls off.”

“Don’t you mean kill me?” Lake said with a snort.

Shaking his head,  Zach shocked him when he replied, “No. If I blow your balls off you live and I need you alive so I can find out what you did with my brother.”

Lake was confused. What did he have to do with Zach’s brother?

“Don’t look at me like you don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about. You took Baily from me and I want him back! Now start talking or I swear to god I will blow your balls off then your knees one at a time and don’t think I’ll miss either. I was top in marksmanship in my squad. Now talk.” Zach hissed out.

Holding up his hands in resignation, Lake said, “Okay. Okay. But I really think we need to get far from here first, Zach. Other’s are coming. I heard Johnny Ray talking to his parents. They’re on their way here and I don’t think you want to be anywhere they are.”

Zach snorted, “I don’t want to be anywhere you are either but you left me no choice. I want to know where my brother is. Now!”

“I don’t know! I...” Lake could hear motors running and knew their time was about up. “Please, Zach. I swear I will answer any and all your questions I can, but we really need to get out of here. People are coming.”

Zach looked around, saying, “I don’t hear nothing.”

“Yes well you aren’t Wetiko. Please, we need to go. Their getting closer.” Lake said anxiously.

It took a moment before Zach gave a sharp nod. “Fine, but if you make one wrong move and I promise you I will shoot and then take my chances with the others. I have enough bullets for everyone.”

Lake turned, “I won’t try anything, Zach. Please, follow me.”

They walked for almost an hour, Zach not saying a word and Lake not really knowing what to say. He had come here for his mate. He knew this time would come, but now that it was here, Lake was terrified. Not of Zach shooting him, although that was a possibility, but he didn’t know how Zach was going to react to their situation or the explanations he would have to give about his people and what Lake was asking of Zach.

“I think we’re far enough.” Zach said none too politely.

“We’re not far from my lair. It’s a good spot. We’ll hear and see anyone coming from it and I have food and drink.” Lake said continuing forward.

“I don’t want your food or your water, Lake...if that’s even your true name. I just want my brother and proof.” Zach stated firmly.

Lake stopped and turned to Zach, “Proof? Proof of what?”

“That you exist...”

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky. I’m a military brat that travelled a bit overseas and throughout many parts of the United States. I finally settled in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where I eventually got married and then divorced. I was blessed with two fantastic sons. As they grew up and became young men chasing their dreams, I felt that maybe now was the time for me to do the same. That’s when I started writing. Never in a million years did I expect to meet the most wonderful man in the world, move to Quebec, Canada, and get married. However, that is exactly what happened. JP has introduced me to things like; canoeing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and has taken me to some of the most beautiful locations. Ones that I had only ever seen on a computer or read about in books. I may miss my mountains and my boys, but have discovered that when you work towards your dreams, the future can be one filled with happiness and love. My boys are only a plane ride away, and Skype is a glorious thing. So I say, on to my next adventure…don’t be shocked to find it in one of my books.

WOOHOO ITS NOVEMBER 1ST

Good morning all its the first day of November and yes the hallmark Christmas movies are playing in the background as I write this blog post . Today I have a great new series by two of my favourite authors . J.R Rain and Hp Mallory and their book GYPSY MAGIC ( Poppy's potions book one )

                              BOOK BLURB

Welcome to Haven Hollow, a town of monsters…

After dating a string of losers and banishing a poltergeist, I packed up my Los Angeles life and my eleven-year-old son, and moved… to a town in Oregon with a population of 680. Well, 682 now.
Culture shock anyone? Ahem, never mind that… New starts can happen anywhere, right?
I hope so because I need to start the next chapter of my forty-three year life pronto. So, why Haven Hollow? For one reason—there aren’t any witches here. And a witch can make a gypsy’s life… complicated.
Oh, right, I’ve put the cart before the horse…

Hi, I’m Poppy Morton and I come from a long line of Scottish gypsies—gypsies who possess magic and make potions to treat any and all ailments. It’s been my dream to open my own potions store and I’m finally going to do it—in the picturesque and small town of Haven Hollow.

Once my son, Finn, and I get settled in our two-story ramshackle, decrepit and rickety farmhouse (that happens to be bordering a cemetery), the nightmares start. And they won’t stop. Almost every night, I find myself face to face with a shadow monster—and its victim. And I’m fairly sure it’s the victim sending me the night terrors, wanting me to figure out the mystery of who or what murdered him.

But, I’m not really sure I want to get involved. Between facing a huge remodel of the above mentioned “house,” getting my son situated in his new school, opening my potions store and dealing with one of the ghosts from my last house who somehow thumbed a ride to this one, I’ve got my hands full. Actually, more than full.

Good thing I’ve got a few handsome neighbors to call on—Marty Zach, a self-professed ghost exorcist who just happens to have the sexiest smile, and Roy Osbourne, a bear of a man who looks like he alone coined the word ‘lumberjack.’

While I’m taken by Marty’s charm and Roy’s really-really-really broad shoulders, I can’t help but feel like this whole town is hiding a secret… and that’s the mystery I mostly want to solve, ghost visions be damned.

                      MY REVIEW
When Poppy and her son Finn pack up and move to Haven Hollow . They seem like they can start a new life there . Until they see the house which is a real fixer upper and is on the out skirts of a cemetery,  Poppy has an uneasy feeling when things start to go a little wonky . The real estate agent that looks like death to the people in town. Her gypsy instinct is kicking in there is more to this town then expected . With the help of her new best friend Marty and a few friends . They will get to the bottom of this strange town and know what they might just fit right in .

This is a great story with so many fun characters. Poppy is a Scottish traveler who has bounced from one bad relationship to another but now she is moving to a place where her and her son can live their lives in peace . Poppy is strong and fiercely protective of her son.  I love her and the fact that she is an older character 43 and has a kid . She struggles like most people but at the end of the day she is there for her son and her friends . Marty is her best friend and a big kid at heart he is a ghost hunter / graphic designer. He can be just a protective as Poppy. They are so much fun to read . There is also some fun characters  they are your typical small town store owners or are they . They could have something more to them then meets the eyes .

This is a fun filled story that I just couldn't put down . The authors have put their heads together and came up with some fun characters , they are so well written and you get to see them grow as you read along .  I love the fact that the characters are mature people that have been through it , not starry eyed young people that haven't lived , The story is a fun escape and you will be laughing all the way through . I will say there were a couple of spots in the middle of the story kind of dragged a bit but over all I truly loved this story and can't wait to see where the authors take us on this adventure . So check it out its part of the Paranormal Woman's Fiction series . So check it out I promise you will love it .
