   Good morning my peeps , I hope you had a great weekend and the last day of March is good to you. Today I have a new book from Linda Thomas - Sundstrom. PLACES OF POWER. I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this book. the paperback is out today and the kindle copy comes out April 2.

                       MY REVIEW 

 Morgan is living out her father's dream of heading to England and continuing his research on King Arthur.  When a chance meeting with John MacQuarrie at Tintagel send Morgan on a trip to the past that she might not come back from. She has been hearing voices on the wind , which compels her to dive deeper into the past and her research . But, those whispers are also hinting of what is coming and what has happened  Will the whispers of the past take Morgan away or will the man who truly cares for her keep her grounded in the present. 

   This is a book that has such strong characters . Morgan and John are two of those characters . Morgan is honestly having a hard time she is grieving her father and wants to finish his research on King Arthur. She is a strong woman with conviction to her past and the past she wants to study. But there were moments where she is naive of the things that are going on around her. She is torn between two worlds and is basically fighting for her very life. John is a mystery, he is the strong silent type of man. He is drawn to Morgan in a way that is strange for both of them. He feels like he knows Morgan from a past and is drawn to her in so many ways. We also get to meet Irwin and Lewis, Irwin has a secret that he is keeping and he is like everyone's father. He does take a shining to Morgan and treats her like a daughter . Wanting to take care of her . Lewis is a paranormal scientist that is interested in ley lines and how the power in the ley lines and now Morgan. Each character is very well written and complex . You will really get to know them and want to protect them as they fight the ghosts and get some answers from the past. 

   This is one of those books that when you sit down to read the first chapter you are hooked. The author paints such a brilliant picture of places that are parts of history . I loved reading about Stone hedge and Tintagel and what the past happened in those areas . She writes a great story weaving fiction in with the historical places and events . This is one those books that will transport you to another place and time with such ease.  I truly enjoyed this story very much . This would make a great book for your summer reading list. Check it out I know you will not be disappointed . 

I AM BACK

  Good morning peeps , I am back after resting my brain after reader round up. Today I have for you book 2 in the Bewitching Books series NARRATIVE NIGHTMARES by Hp Mallory

Not to mention Rox is falling hard for Byron's exotic companion, making objective decisions nearly impossible.

Now I'm caught in a supernatural game spanning centuries, with Egyptian mythology, enchanted books, and danger swirling around me.

And the worst part? I can't tell if my attraction to Byron is real or if I'm just another pawn in his schemes.

One thing's certain—some books are never meant to be opened, and some desires are never meant to be quenched.

But telling the difference between safe and sorry might cost me everything. 

                     MY REVIEW 

   El and Rox are back and working hard at Bewitching Books and boy things have heated up . Between running the store and managing the magical book shelf that brings literary characters to life El has her hands full someone is going around attacking people and drinking blood from them . In walks Lord Byron and his companion . Oh and don't forget Dill, Edgar and a mystery man after the books in Eliot's magic shelf. Things are just getting weirder and weirder. She can't talk to Heath about it well cause his jealousy is showing . So El and Rox are going to figure out what is going on and trying to stay safe while doing it . 

    El and Rox are really trying to figure out this magic shelf thing . El is well not having the best time of her life . She is trying real hard to keep everything kosher. When she feels like she had it all together but boom something magical happens to throw everything in chaos. She is strong but the one person she can talk to is well being a big baby. She tries hard but sometimes things just don't go as planned. Rox is her best friend and has a deep understanding of Egypt and its mythology. She is a no nonsense kind of woman who is so sweet and under estimated person out there, She watches every thing and figures out what is happening before anyone else does .  Now Heath well he showed up but then ran away . He really annoyed me in this book. He well acted like a jealous child and ran away . I will say that each character becomes more and more complex and are well written . Which lets us like them more and more. 

    This is a fun book to read , the author has entwined a good vampire story with book characters of literary classics .  There are so many secrets and lies that come to lie in the book which they try and figure out with comic outcomes sometimes . I am loving this series , it is very character driven and the characters are well written and you will love them. They will make you laugh so hard and then other times you want to just slap them upside the head and shake them and tell them to get it together . So if you want a fun magical series check it out .

   Good morning my peeps well this is the last book for reader round up as last day is tomorrow.  This was so much fun for the first one of the year. Found some new authors and also read some more books from the authors I adore. For my last book its is a new author to me Mila Young and her book THEIR PRETTY LITTLE MONSTER.

                     MY REVIEW 

 Sage is trying to survive in her small village on earth until the day that the Viscount comes out of the darkness and tells her that she is this years offering and is swept away into a deadly realm of Shadowfen. When she meets the three monsters/ men that are her true mates . Each of them a beast in his own way. They want to take back the kingdom that was stolen from them and Sage is the key . Will they become the rulers they were meant to be and will Sage survive the realm and become the one true heart that they all need and crave. 

  Sage , Killian , Wolfe and Nykos . A woman and her monsters . Sage is a sweet girl who really didn't belong in her world . She was shunned and bullied most of her life.  But she carries herself with a quiet dignity and a strength that helps her through what is happening to her . She knows that she is destined for great things . Killian is the dominant one Nykos is the feral one and Wolfe is the obsessive one .  Each man is oh so sexy and brooding . They are all feral and want to possess Sage but also want to let her grow and keep her safe.  They all want the same thing to keep Sage safe and take back their realm. The characters are well written , but I will say Sage's naivete kind of got a little annoying it was great to see her grow and get a back bone. 

  This is one of those books that you start and kind of get lost in . This is the first time reading this author so it took me a min to get into her writing style. The characters are well written and complex . The author has so many twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat and there are some really smexy times through out the book. It just proves that sometimes you need the monster and the man. So if you want a book that will have you reading well into the night check it out 

COUNT DOWN FOR READER ROUND UP

  Good morning peeps , reader round up is getting closer to being done .  I have found some really good books this round up and today I have another one for you it is a mystery RUN SUGAR RUN by Catherine Marcum.

 Lisa has been living in New York for the last ten years, hiding from an messy marriage and a even messier divorce. With her daughter siding with her ex, she hid the fact that she is an award winning author, who has lost her mojo. Until the day that she gets a letter that she has inherited a large sum of money and a house and land in Billings Virginia. So why not start again. What a way to start over in a car accident and a body in the trunk of her car.  This town has memories and the fresh start she is looking for to get her writing career back and maybe find a new love to call her own. 

   Lisa has been hiding for the last ten years . She is a sweet woman who will help out anyone that needs it. There is a sweetness hidden under her spine of steel . She sometimes doesn't listen to those that care for her. The first person she meets is Linc the police detective , he is well hot and has a sternness about him. He can't help it around Lisa , she has this pull with him that he can't deny. Dr Nate is the total opposite, he  is sweet and has a kind heart , the kind of guy that any woman would want . They both have eyes on Lisa . Each character is well written and complex in their own ways . 

  This story had me up past my bedtime wanting to find out who the murderer was and why they were killing everyone. The author has put so many twists and turns through out the book along with throwing in some romantic time for the main characters. The characters are very well written and there are moments that you seem you can't trust any of them. I just wish that the book delved a little bit more on who the murderer was and left a few more clues cause it was just poof this is who did the killing and no real breadcrumbs on who it might of been . Over all I really enjoyed this book so check it out 

GOOD MORNING MY PEEPS

   Good morning my peeps another day of reader round up and today we have one of my favourite authors.  V.J Lee and book four of her series in the Fated Mates of Thorne Bay. Let me introduce you all to CHASE.

                       MY REVIEW

 Chase is a loner and happy to work in a remote logging camp as a mechanic . Oh forgot to tell  you that Chase is also a vampire and the logging crew he works for is made up of all sorts of shifters and beasts. Things are going well until things he finds out that machinery is starting to be sabotaged by someone or something . After setting a trap to capture the person involved. Chase wasn't ready for what he found, his mate and a wood nymph. Now his worlds are crashing in around him and will his secrets be spilt after a hundred years of hiding them and will he give up his mate for his brothers to save the logging camp. 

   Lets see Chase and Harmony are two of the most unlikely mates but they are fated . Chase is a loner and a tortured soul. He has been carrying his guilt around with him for over a hundred years. He is surly and kind of rugged around the edges . Harmony well even though she is an activist she is sweet and sunny with a hint of danger to her.  They both have secrets that they don't want to let go of . It seems like Harmony has different plans when she meets Chase but when they do fall they fall hard for each other, I must say I love the way this author writes her characters and always they seem tortured but also redeemable.  They come out very complex and oh so well written. 

   This is one of those books where you start and you can't put it down. The author loves to give us a roller coaster ride and she doesn't make it easy on her characters either.  This is a mystery with steamy time and fated mates this is the story for you . It is part of a series buy you can read it as a stand alone. So if you want a great story with fun characters check it out

From the moment he’d met her in Mexico, he’d been enamored. He did everything in his power to get closer to her, but nothing worked.

                      MY REVIEW 

 Mya is the friend that likes to stay home and play video games and design her role playing games . She is basically coerced by her best friend to go to a gaming convention. Which she is so happy and excited to go. Until she sees the one man that she thought she would never see. JT Stone. Who was never happier to help their friend out and was excited to see Mya . They start out as friends but both of them are confused on how they feel. They both are scared and excited to find out where they will go. With the help of friends and a little gaming help these two will get it figured out and realize that they belong together. 

  Mya and JT what a fun couple. Mya is the one that would rather stay home and work on her video game and also play those games . She seems to be the quiet one that will hang with her friends and be happy for the couples they are becoming but wonders if there will be someone out there for her . She covers up her uneasiness with a snarky attitude and wit. JT is the one guy that can make you laugh and think that he is such a sweet heart . But under all the laughter there is a bit of sadness about things that have happened in his life.  He is a great graphic designer when he finally gets his chance to help Mya out on the graphics for her game . He is in it for the long haul and he will do anything to make Mya his. These two are such a fun couple. They are well written and you will cheer them on and want to slap both of them a few times .

   This is a fun fast read, I truly like the way this author writes her characters and they interact with each other. They are all friends and when push comes to shove they are there . This is a slow burn but when they get down to it , its hot and heavy and might set your kindle on fire. So if you want a fun read by a fun author check it out.

   Good morning peeps , it is Monday and another day of reader round up . Today we are going review a paranormal romance story by a new author to me  A PLACE TO BELONG by Larynn Ford

   Boone Weaver is trying to make his dream of being a cattle rancher come true. While one day out fencing , he smells the most intoxicating scent ever , oh did i forget to tell you Boone is a were panther.  He starts hunting the scent down and finds an injured Carly, who is running from a lying ex husband. Boone wants to help her put her life back together and figure out her past or will the ex find her and sell her to a man that wants  to harm her and take her true heritage away from her. Will Carly ever truly trust another man again. 

   Boone and Carly are such sweet characters . Boone is a were panther who wants to live his life and make it as a cattle rancher. He is sweet and kind but when he finds out his mate is nearby he really becomes mr protector.  Carly is sweet and kind but there is so much sadness in her heart . She has been hurt so badly by her husband that she is scared and almost timid when it comes to being around others. They really do balance each other out and Boone is there to be what ever Carly needs and wants. 

  This is a shifter novel but what I really like about it is that the author doesn't have them wham bam in insta love . She gives them space and time to get use to each other and let them find their way to each other naturally. The story is a fast read that I read in an evening . I liked the characters and I do wish that we had a little bit more depth to them to make them a little more complex. So if you want a fun read that is sweet and romantic with a good mystery to it . This would be it . Check it out

  When in the future everything is own by the big company's like Amazon . Dakota is working at the Amazon cafe to help fund her on line role playing game . When the CSI company decides to hold a 10 million dollar game challenge to launch their new system . Dakota and her friends decide to play. Dakota discovers malice in the game.  If she tells the world it could threaten their very lives but if Dakota hides the secret it could ruin the whole fabric of life. 

  There is a a great cast of characters in this book. Dakota is the leader of the merry little band of misfits . She is twenty two and trying just to be a no one and wants to play her role playing games .  In real life she tends to hide and just do her job and go home . In the game she is fearless and considered an underground activist that are fighting against the evil big corporations.  Erik is well her boyfriend who would forget to cuddle so they can play the game longer . He is a sweet guy who just wants to play the game and see how far he can get. There are many more characters that we meet in this book real life and in the game. Each character has a great personality and are very complex . There are moments that you want to just hug Dakota and the rest of the gang and other times you want to basically slap them upside the head for the stupid stuff they do. 

    Honestly I didn't know what I was getting into when I started this book. Was not ready for the roller coaster ride that the author took us on. The story is one of gaming and what can happen if the companies aren't what they seem to be and the real life that can be a little boring after being in the game. There were times when I had a hard time realizing when I was in the game and then in real life through out the book.  This would be a great book for those that love gaming and role playing .  So if you have a gamer or want to read a good sci fi book that will keep you awake all night this is the book for you

GOOD SATURDAY ALL

   Good afternoon peeps its another book down in reader round up . Today's book is a mixed bag for me . I have read other books by this author and loved them, this one I am on the fence about. But, I am going to tell you about it and let you decide for yourself . THE SAND PRINCE  by Kim Alexander

                    MY REVIEW 

 Two worlds that are bound by magic , a demon world and a mortal world . In the demon world we have Queen Hellne and her people, and her son who she has kept secret . On the other side the mortal world , the demons have faded into the myths . When Rhuun find peace in a book of what the human world is like . When forced through the door by his mother, he finds himself in the land of the mortals . Where he has to balance serving and surviving in this new world . While he has to do the one task of trying to kidnap the one woman that infuriates him. Will he be able to prove to this young woman that demons are more than a bedtime story. 

   There is a massive collection of characters in this book. Hellne is a tough woman who wants to keep her people safe and her son also safe. Rhuun is well he is different then most demons he has been bullied most of his life. He is just a different guy and can fit into both worlds nicely.  Hellne and Malloy are secondary characters but they play a big part in the story line and keep us going on the right direction through out the book . The characters are well written and you will have your favorites . 

   This is a hard book for me , I was on the fence about how I would write about this book.  The characters are well written and the story is one that would be wonderful. But I also feel that the author could of written the book in about half the length that it is.  There is also a little editing that needs to be done. The author does paint a brilliant picture of the two worlds and the characters in each world . Over all I did enjoy this story and would love to see what happens in other books in the series .

 Two years ago my life came to a complete standstill. 

As the world around me kept going, I fell through the proverbial rabbit hole. t took a lot of fight to climb back into the living again, but now something is after me. There are a few things I'm sure of, it's deadlier than I ever imagined and hellbent on, not only destroying my world but also ending my life.

 

                       MY REVIEW 

 Neverly has been fighting for the past two years to get back her life . She was a police officer with the Ontario police service when she witnessed a gruesome murder. Since then she has been having feelings of being watched. When the bodies start to pile up around her she has to ask her ex partner for help to figure out what is going on. Before they both end up dead. 

 Neverly is a strong woman who has had a bad last two years, she is a fighter and wants to figure out who is following her and whoever is killing people that she knows . She does have a bit of a stubborn streak and she likes to push people away. Dex is her hot ex partner who has and on and off relationship with her. He kind of comes off as cocky but underneath he has a heart of gold that will do whatever it takes to help Neverly out and figure out what is going on. Flynn is well he is a loner who has a way with people, he is one of those people that you like him but you can't really trust him .  Each character has flaws that make them more relatable and makes you want to cheer for them and keep them safe. 

   This is one of those books that is a good mixture of a mystery and paranormal thrown in a thrill. The characters are well written and complex. This is the first book from this author that I have read from her . I liked how the story flowed well and there was some good twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat for most of the time . There are some very hot scenes through out the book . I like that this is a Canadian author and she used landmarks and towns that are recognizable to me . I can' t wait to dive into boo two and see where she takes us . Check it out I read it in an afternoon .

                        MY REVIEW

 Kerys Lore is on the adventure of her life, she is on her way to an alien ruin on a distant planet. This could make her career finding this ruin  When they land on the planet and start hunting around the ruin. Things go down hill fast when she sees her ex there and after finding a profound discovery on her first day. Things start to go down hill and now she is fighting for her life where people are going crazy and dying and a sinister ex stalking her around the dome. Will she survive what is happening and get home safely. 

    Oh my gosh the cast of characters in this book are so well written. Kerys is one of those characters that is strong and honestly has an ax to grind with the company that she use to work for. She is a fighter and when push comes to shove she will fight who or what ever comes at her.  But there are moments where Kerys comes off whiny and you kind of want to shake her. Will is her ex and a botanist that is already working on the far away planet. He is well what can you say about a stalker . Not much but he just gives off such a creep factor and when you really get to know him and watch him with the others, you really just want to punch him.  We get to meet a varied members of the group each of them has an attitude that will either get them killed or survive. Each character is well crafted and complex. You will love to hate some of them and cheer for the others . 

   This is one of those books that gives you all the feels. It seems like it is a cross between Aliens and Martian . The characters are well written and complex and you want them to come out alright . The author has constructed a well crafted story full of intrigue, conspiracy and lots of action that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are moments that you feel that you are right in the middle of the action and there are a few places where you will be reading and then get a scare. This is a great book for those who love sci fi and horror .So if you want a good book to get lost in for a weekend check it out .It won't disappoint you .
