GOOD WEDS EVERYONE

Good Weds all. Sorry haven't been around the last couple of days. Internet has been acting up. Had no internet for most of yesterday. So what did I do I read . Got three books done in one day . Today is kind a special day for me . I am doing my first review for a book I received from Bostick Communications. I have been getting books from them for a week now. I can't believe that this is actually happened. I get to meet some great new authors with lots of new books. So here it is
my first review . So here is AFTER THE PARCH  by Sheldon Greeene

BOOK BLURB

It's 2075. California is nothing like we know it. The USA has broken up and California has become an independent refuge dominated by a single omnipotent corporation. Eighteen-year-old Bran, a shepherd, is given a mission to traverse the California republic in ten days, in order to save his rural community from forfeiting its land. On the way, he teams up with a seventeen-year-old girl who has the skills and prowess of a warrior, an eleven-year-old wild boy with uncanny survival skills, and a wandering musician with a secret revolutionary agenda. After the Parch is a fast-paced, vivid, dystopian fantasy with a chilling resemblance to the way we are, and a vision of what we might become. )

MY REVIEW
This book starts out in California in 2075. After the U.S has broken up. Bran an eighteen year old  shepherd, is picked to travel across California to get the patent to save his small town from foreclosure. As he travels along on his journey he meets June a beautiful warrior girl and Ephus a wild child, who helps them survive more then once . They also meet up with Nikanor a beautiful musician and also a rebel leader. He comes in quite handy with some of the situations that poor Bran finds himself in. They only have ten days to get to where they are going.  Will they make it in time to save his rural town and will they survive the journey.
Sheldon Greene takes us on a fast paced, journey through a post apocalyptic U.S in the year 2075. Where there has been a deadly drought.  It is a face paced book that takes you to a place in the future. It takes you to a place where things go from bad to worse for the people. The transportation is well if it is there . It is bad . You have factions that are ruling and people are poor . People are rounded up and if can't be contracted out for work . Are put down. There is poverty and homelessness. The church is at the heart of helping out the disadvantaged . People are fighting to keep what they have and rebels trying to fight for what is good . Trying to bring down the big evil that is running the show .
This book moves at a fast pace and flows nicely from one event to the other , good or bad. The characters are well written and you can feel the emotions of the characters. You want to cheer for Bran and his traveling companions cause they go through so much . You just want to help them and cheer for them . Also you just want to wrap them up and hug them close , when they are put through the torture. There is an adventure ride throughout this book with lots of thrills and a few goosebumps
So if you are into apocalyptic , dystopian book . This is the book for you . A great read for anyone 15 to 85 . A great summer read for the beach or lake. So take a chance you won't be disappointed

good monday all

Good Monday all . Going to do some pimping today. Want a book that is hot dark and so full of sex  you will blush all the way through. Then you must read the news book from the very warped mind of Mark Henry. Let me introduce you to BALUSTRADE( THE CARNAL STAIRCASE)

BOOK BLURB
A couple on the verge of divorce begrudgingly agree to an unorthodox marital retreat. Despite warnings and portents, Hilary and Jack travel to the remote Washington scablands, braving a strange religious demonstration to arrive at Balustrade, an oddly voyeuristic couples program. Under the tutelage of Chantal, a harsh mistress, and Ludo, a brooding sex surrogate, the couple find their most intimate relations under discomfiting scrutiny. The therapy is ritualistic, sensual, wearing away their inhibitions to lush, orgiastic ends. For a while, Hilary luxuriates in a slippery, sensual descent into wickedness. But when time begins to disintegrate in dream-like fugues, sexual awakening takes a turn for the sinister.Clandestine cabals whisper behind closed doors. Robed figures congregate in the dark cavern at the apex of the strange building’s courtyard. Nothing is quite as it seems. And a question looms. Is it the intention of Chantal and Balustrade to help mend their failing marriage or are their minds and bodies being groomed for more sinister, carnal purposes? Hilary must strive to unlock the secrets behind Balustrade before it pushes her to the brink of insanity and ignites her darkest urges.

The book I am reviewing for you today is THE QUEEN OF SWORDS, by Nina Mason

BOOK BLURB

When Graham Logan draws the Queen of Swords, he knows he’s about to meet the love of his life. For the third time. But surrendering his heart will mean risking her life…or making her what he is--two things his beliefs won’t allow him to do. Graham rages at God: Why give her back only to take her again?
Cat Fingal, the third incarnation of Graham’s other half, won’t let him slip away so easily. A white witch, she casts a spell to summon him—for answers, among other things.
Graham has other problems, too. Like the seductress who wants him for herself and the dark wizard who cursed him and killed Cat the first two times.
Will she find a way to save him this time around?

**For Mature Readers Only**

MY REVIEW
This book has it all, soulmates, hot vampires , Celtic lore, witches , and eternal love for the agers.
Meet Graham and Cat they have bee  together through out the ages. Because of a curse Cat has been taken away from him time after time. When he pulls the Queen of swords, he knew that Cat would be back in his life again for the third time. He tries everything to not let that happen . But the fates bring them together. There is so much going on between them, between a roommate that makes advances at Graham and a evil fae that wants Graham for her devious and evil plans. To the evil sorcerer that wants Grahams very soul. They still find their way back to each other . They also find away to help Graham . This time around he has a secret weapon Cat and her white magic. So when the tarot cards align and let them realize their undying dream, Will they forever be happy and stay with each other ,
Nina  is a new author that I am very happy that I found.  Her mix of Celtic lore, vampires and undying love of two soul mates. Is a new mix that makes for a very enjoyable read. Her characters are written with such intensity that you just want to cheer for. They are tortured and you can feel their pain. The pain of loss of love and knowing that out there  there is something or someone that is your missing piece.
The historical aspects of the book added a lot of depth to these characters. To know what went on in Graham's life as he fought and found Cat was great. You find out a bit of the Scottish tradition and lore . Even the history of the kilt and the clansman. I know some of you might not like that but hey I love it. Anything Scottish from men to lore make me swoon. Oh did I also say that Graham is really hot in a kilt . One of the reason's Cat is in lust with him at first, well honestly who wouldn't be .
The mixture of magic and mythology  kept me reading long into the night. The Queen of Swords was well researched and well written. Nina has created a new genre in the paranormal world. So if you like , vampires, witches, Celtic lore and well Scotland , men in kilts with great accents . Check this book out. I will say you will not be disappointed . This is a 5+ star book . So check out

HAND OF MIRIAM by Eva Gordon

BOOK BLURB

Thrust into a malevolent war, which includes facing Jack the Ripper, they must resist the magnetic pull toward each other, while protecting the world from encroaching evil.

MY REVIEW
First off this is the first steampunk book I have read. I didn't know that at the beginning so I was a bit confused. But as I started reading it I really got into the book. Its a mixture of Victorian, steampunk and goth . All rolled up in on sweet book.
Bayla Gideon is widowed on an dig and is branded by a supernatural force with the knowing eye. She awakens the Golem when she is threatened .
Gesher is a fallen angel that has been turned into the Golem because he disobeyed his fellow arch angel. He is awakened by Bayla and gets rid of the evil that is threatening her. As she allows this to be done. , Gesher is turned into a more human looking man. instead of the clay man . Even though he is scarred where his wings were stripped from him and the gorgeous ripped body of a warrior. Bayla is attracted to him , and really who wouldn't be attracted to the battle scarred hunk of man standing in front of her. W  Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. The steampunk aspect of the book had me so intrigued. LIke I said this was the first book of this genre I have read. Eva wrote with such a command. It had me turning page after page well into the night. ill
Gesher return to heaven or find heaven on earth with the woman who has his heart. Will they both survive the outcome
The addition of the jewish lore in the book was another aspect that had my attention. It flowed so seamlessly and the characters were so driven and well written . Right down to their flaws. They both were flawed but it seemed to add to their attraction. So if you want to try a good steampunk book check out this book cause you won't be disappointed .
