MY REVIEW
This is the first book in a new series and a spin off of the CURSE KEEPERS series . Which I loved and this series is no exception . Meet Piper Lancaster and her friends . She is a ghost hunter but also a skeptic . Until the day the colony of Roanoke reappears and demons start walking the earth and ghosts start showing up warning Piper . With time running out for her to find some daggers her father told her to find before her 25 birthday . Demons out to destroy her . A secret organization that is wanting her . Will she survive to learn the ways she is suppose to survive . With the help of her friends she will figure it all out .
I really like Piper , she is the perfect mixture of vulnerable and kick butt heroine . She has gone through so much in her young life . Watching her parents being murdered at the age of ten and living with her grandmother . Has molded her in a way that makes her strong but also very naïve .The cast of characters that help and well also hinder Piper are vast and diverse . Abel we really don't know what he is and well hunky Jack the priest is just too cute to be a priest . At one moment you think well Jack is the one that is going to hurt Piper and then in the next breath you are screaming that Abel doesn't have Piper's interest at heart. Trust me you will want to hug and stab both men through out the book .
I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book as soon as I heard it was being written . I loved the first series and I so wanted to see where the author was taking it .This story will have you on the edge of your seat most of the time . It does start off a little slow but does pick up and then you are on a roller coaster ride where you are hanging on for dear life . I love the fact that the author actually mixes the mystery of the lost colony of Roanoke and a great urban fantasy . You can read this series without reading the original series and still know what is going on . This book will keep you reading well past your bed time . What is great about this book is that your daughters can read it right along with you . They will love it too , So if you want a good read check it out You will not be disappointed .
