BOOK BLURB
Not all fights are one on one. In a team, no man should stand alone.
‘You can’t keep me.’
Shawn ‘Easy’ Pischlar has given his speech so often, it should be written on the white board in the Dartmouth Cobra’s locker room. Too many of his own teammates have heard the words.
And the games he’s played are finally catching up to him.
To hang on to his freedom, Shawn gave up on ever having someone to call his own. A young woman who expects nothing from him slips into his life and has him ready to toss the rulebook. While the man he loves tempts him to burn it.
Keeping them both would be easy, only…caring about them isn’t.
Because when he lets himself care, he remembers why he wrote the rules in the first place. Every lover, from the casual, to those who steal a piece of his heart, shouldn’t expect more than pleasure. More than passion.
Playing the game, on and off the ice, is his whole world. One he isn’t ready to change.
Except, life doesn’t stop for the game. And when old scars are ripped open, and he’s left bloody and beaten, the rules won’t help him put the pieces of his life back together.
To win this fight, he’ll have to break each and every one.
MY REVIEW
This book has me at my ends , Bianca creates such a complex set of characters . All with their own set of problems. There is kink and sex oozing off the page but also there is love and a long that comes out as you read . But there is so much more that is going on between the pages . As you read you will laugh cry and honestly ladies you will need a fan in some areas of the book cause this book does get really spicy .
There are way too many characters to name them all but I must say that all Bianca's characters are well written and complex . I absolutely loved Shawn and Ian, I must say they are very hot together and when you read them you will agree they are hot , hot , hot . Until Justina comes into the picture and then wow it gets even hotter . But like all things there is always someone or something that gets in the way before the happy ending . Samantha is the one character that I so wanted to slap upside the head repeatedly . She drove me crazy with her antics and trust me when I say this you will want to slap her too . She needs to do a lot of growing up before she can have a relationship with anyone. The rest of the team are there too helping our main characters out and showing them that there is more to life then just sex .
I truly liked this book but to me I found it was a little slow in some areas and seemed to drag . Also at some points it seemed like there were too many stories going on and a few too many characters to keep up with . Those are my only two objections about the book. I did really like reading this book and hearing more about her Cobras . Bianca will take you to places that you never thought you would end up an rip out your heart and piece it back together . She will melt your kindle with the sexiness of her men . So if you want a really good sports romance with hot alpha men and the women and men who love them . Check out Bianca's Darthmoth Cobras series

HAPPY TUESDAY EVERYONE
Happy Tuesday all . hope your week is going great . Just coming off a long weekend here , so sat outside on the deck doing a lot of reading , my kind of weekend. I fell in love with FIVE DAYS ( Five series book 2) by Cathy Jackson.
BOOK BLURB
Tavora Kar has finally moved forward in her life. The brief time she has spent with Luke R’phael has reawakened her longing for companionship. She is surrounded by friends and a church who love her as family, yet her heart still belongs to only one man.
Luke R’phael has spent the last year grieving for his wife. He has sought the company of others to ease his longing and has found it wanting. He returns to Tavora seeking the comfort he once gave her, determined to make her his.
Passion flames as two lost souls find each other, but will their love survive past the next five days?
Will their differences fuel their desire or drive them apart forever?
MY REVIEW
It has been a year since Tavora and Luke have seen each other . In that time Luke has been mourning his dead wife and Tavora has been getting on with hers. There is a draw that is pulling them together . He finally realizes that Tavora is the one woman for him and travels back to claim Tavvy . They meet back up and sparks fly , but will their love withstand the differences in their loves . Or will they be torn apart before their love has a chance to blossom into more .
I must say I fell in love part two of this story , I finished off book one and was so chomping at the bit to get to book two. So when it came out I jumped out at it . I started reading in the afternoon and Tavvy and Luke sucked me in from the very first page . Their love story isn't going to be an easy story, they come from totally different backgrounds, Tavora is a born again Christian who has ties to her church and her close friends . Luke has lapsed and hasn't been to church since he was a child . He doesn't really believe in God. He doesn't understand the way that Tavvy is with the church, he has to come to terms with his love for Tavvy and his unease with the church. You can see him trying to be what Tavvy wants but you see him struggling at times. We see him being so vulnerable and a little scared . He doesn't want to loose his life with Tavvy but he doesn't know what to do .
Tavora has actually grown stronger in this book , we see become more involved and happy , but there is still the ache of lost love . She becomes such a great lady standing up and becoming more and more happy . When together with Luke she is getting stronger and stronger but they also are having their problems . She will be a great girl friend to have, to hang out with and help with your problems .
I was sucked in on the very first page , the story is compelling and will keep you reading . There is sex in this book which the author wrote very tastefully and not too graphically that might turn some people off . The story is complex and you will be thinking about it after you are finished . You will want to cheer for Tavvy and Luke and you will also kind of want to slap Luke upside the head a few times. You will laugh and shed a tear or twenty I know I did . So trust me when I say this have a box of Kleenex and a bar of chocolate on hand . You will need them both , the Kleenex to dry your tears and the chocolate to soothe your aching heart . I so can't wait for book 3, I need to know if they will live happily ever after.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING ALL
Good Monday morning all, to us in Canada , hope you are all relaxing from your long weekend . Today we are going to review SAVING A LEGEND by Sarah Robinson.
BOOK BLURB
His family’s gym has produced a roster of mixed martial arts legends, but so far Kieran Kavanagh hasn’t followed in their footsteps. After a brawl lands him in jail, Kieran is assigned to work at a center for at-risk youth. Though given a second chance, Kieran’s simply going through the motions—until he meets one very special kid, Shea Doherty, and falls hard for her very beautiful, very grown-up big sister, Fiona. The trouble is, Kieran’s best opening moves are getting him nowhere fast.
Fiona Doherty has too many responsibilities to fool around, especially now that she has custody of Shea. Sure, she’d love to find a devoted partner. But she won’t jeopardize her sister’s happiness—or risk revealing her tortured past—on a love-’em-and-leave-’em type of guy like Kieran . . . so it’s up to him to prove her wrong. As Fiona spends more time with Kieran, she starts to see a softer side of the reckless warrior. Now she must admit that when it comes to the possibility of real love, well . . . there’s a fighting chance.
MY REVIEW
I must say that this is only the second book I have read by Sarah Robinson. These books are about a family that owns a gym and trains MMA fighters . This is Kieran's book the second book in the series . He has just gotten out of jail and is trying to make up for lost time . He is doing his community service at a center for kids . Where he meets Fiona and he kid sister she, who is autistic. She is leery of any man and is tired of finding the love em and leave em guys . Will Kieren be able to show her that he means business both in and out of the ring .
I am glad that this book can be read as a stand alone because I actually read this one first and then went on to the first book of the series . I must say that this author as a keen sense of writing . Her characters are well developed. I think the best character in the book was Shea a little autistic child . The author did a great job in researching on what an austistic child goes through on a daily basis. I applaud her for writing such a sweet character in her . Some of the other characters seemed to me were a little cookie cutter . Kieran the big strong alpha hiding a past and trying to overcome what he has done. There were moments that I just either wanted to slap him or hug him . I didn't know what I should do. He is your typical good guy, done something stupid paid his price now trying to start over . Fiona is your typical girl next door , she is struggling with her flower shop and watching her little sister . She to me was in some ways too easy going , when it came to Kieran . She basically let him take over and make all the decisions for her and Shea . She is also very ummmmm what is the word , oh yeah hypocritical of Kieran when she has her own secrets and a past that is bad . The family is your typical family , mom is ever so sweet and dad is there to help in anyway he can . They all rally around and help out .
Over all I really enjoyed this book , it was a sweet fast read , great for the beach or poolside this summer . Buts sometimes it felt like every other romance out there , predictable and just a little underwhelming . That being said though I did really enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone who likes a sweet romance with sexy men and the women who love them . This is a great story for the summer readers out there . So check it out if you want a really good summer read.

WHO IS READY FOR A HORROR READ THIS WEDS
Good Wednesday all , hope your hump day is going well so far . Have you ever found an author and loved one series they put out . Just to find out they have some great books out there in other genres . That's what happened to me, I fell in love with Devan Sagliani's zombie books and was cruising to look for some other books to read I found this little treasure SAINT DEATH a short horror book.
BOOK BLURB
Several young American college students on vacation for Spring Break in Cabo San Lucas are lured away from safety with promises of sex and drugs only to be sacrificed by a blood thirsty Santa Muerte cult that worships death.
"Sagliani epitomizes what a sound and seasoned story teller should be in stylistic prose... Saint Death sets the precedent of bone chilling, skin crawling horror fiction and what it ultimately strives to be." -Horror News
MY REVIEW
Ok I must admit , I am a horror book lover and this book was very intriguing to me . I read what it was about and instantly picked it up . Lets just say Devan has ruined all my travel plans I ever had . The thing about this book is that it really does happen in some of these countries . You just don't know what could happen when on vacation . Ok I will quit talking about my phobias that Devan has installed in my heart . I will tell you about the book .
The story opens as a we watch a couple of young college co-eds go missing in Mexico and being sacrificed to a cult. You are thrown into the action right away, Devan doesn't pull any punches in this book. He takes us on a journey literally through hell and back . The cult alone is scary enough but what they do to these poor students is unbelievable . Trust me when I say this , I actually got up and pulled the curtains closes and locked my doors . The story just scared the bejesus out of me .
The book is very graphic and not your Stephen King kind of horror . This horror will stick with you as you read . The author took a great deal of time doing research on the local folk lore and knowledge of the area. He kept it very real and it shows on the pages, but as with most books as you dive into the book there is more that is going on as it crosses the line into depravity and how far greedy people are . There is only one thing that I wished , there was more, I wanted a longer story . But with that being said I truly loved this story. So if you want a great short horror book that will make you never ever travel anywhere ever again . Will take you to the edge of sanity and then pull you back just in time . Check out SAINT DEATH by Devan Sagliana

GOOD TUESDAY ALL
Good Tuesday all , I can't believe that when I started this book I had to read until I was done . Anyone with pets will understand the stories behind this gentleman's book . Welcome to CROWDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE by DR. Bo Brock.
BOOK BLURB
Crowded in the Middle of Nowhere: Tales of Humor and Healing from Rural America is a collection of humorous and poignant stories from a veterinarian in a small, dusty farming and ranching community in rural West Texas. Dr. Brock gives you an intimate look into his small-town and big-hearted perspective on life, animals, and their owners. His unique perspective and tales of doctoring beloved pets, cantankerous livestock, and occasionally their owners will make you smile, laugh, cry, and evoke every other emotion under the sun.
Crowded in the Middle of Nowhere is Bo Brock’s first book. Its first printing has been ranked as high as #5 on the Amazon Best Selling Humor List and won the 2015 Chicago Animals, Animals, Animals Book Festival grand prize. Dr. Bo Brock, DVM, owns a thriving, multispecies veterinary clinic in Lamesa, Texas (population 9,207 and sometimes referred to as “the middle of nowhere”). He graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University and was voted equine practitioner of the year for the state of Texas in 2007. In addition to his thriving veterinary practice and moonlighting as an author, Bo is an active public speaker and adjunct professor at Texas Tech University. (less)
MY REVIEW
Have you ever had one of those book that was just a happy read from the beginning till the end . No hateful characters and a cliff hanger at the end . This book is that book . Crowded in the middle of nowhere is a collection of stories and memories from Dr Bo Brock, a veterinarian, public speaker and now a writer . This is his first book and boy if this is what comes out as his first book . I can't wait to read more from this author .
The author has a cast of characters that will make you laugh and cry. The ornery cow and the various dogs and cats that walk through the clinic, will make you laugh and cry. I can relate to some of the stories being a ranchers wife. The trouble with a horse that wants nothing to do with anyone and panicking call the vet. You can feel how much he cares for all the animals that come through his doors . He takes us on a great adventure and you feel like are there right beside him helping him out with each procedure .
I started this book in the evening , thinking that it would be a great light read after reading a heavy book. Well lets just say after a bag of pretzels and a large water I was done . I had read the whole book in an evening . I have never laughed so hard while reading , I actually snorted a few times I was laughing so hard . There were also times while I was reading when tears started running down my cheeks because the story was just so moving and the only thing you know that the end was just . I think we learnt a lot more about the people who loved these animal as much as we learnt about the animals . The way they took care of them and fretted over them when they got sick .
The best story I read and laughed so hard at was the guy who needed a trailer but couldn't find one and when he got his horse into the clinic . The poor horse was standing tied up on the back of a fifth wheel flat deck, looking like he was scared to death. I felt for the poor guy and for the horse . But you so had to laugh when the author was describing it . You so could picture it in your mind . Or another great story in the book , is when a cowgirl forgot to put her truck in park and the truck drove through a house . She was in the gas station at the time . So long story short she had to back her trailer out and head to the vet clinic. They never let her forget it either . That is just a sampling of what you can expect from this author. You will laugh and you will shed some tears but over all you will love the stories and next time you will want to hug your vet for what they do to keep our animals healthy .
I can't wait to read more from this author . He is a delight to read . So if you want a funny quirky take on a vets life in Texas check it out.

HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH EVERY ONE
Good Friday all , and HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH. Have you ever been hunting for a book to read and nothing caught your eye until you stumble on a book that is short but packs a punch . This is what I found the other day. THE GUILD by Brian Parker
BOOK BLURB
Post-war, Denver is ruled by the powerful Guild, an egalitarian regime intent on maintaining order at all costs. But some of the citizens remember what it was like before the fall of the old world and will stop at nothing to bring back capitalism and democracy to their city.
Meanwhile, Misha, a young farm boy with his head in the clouds, is lured in by the beautiful Kara. She holds the key to a secret that will bring Misha’s world crashing down and has the potential to change his future.
MY REVIEW
This book caught my eye as I was hunting through books to read . This is a new author for me and I was excited to start reading . It is a short book so I would call it a novella . What a great way to get to know an author I must say this book blew me way . Misha and his family are poor farmers working for the Guild in post war Denver. Misha wants more and is a lover of books . He is ok with his life and what is going on until the day he meets Kara and then his life is turned upside down .
I got totally invested in these characters . Misha is a kid that loves to get lost in books he loves his family. All he knows is the Guild and how things work . They are hard working people and they want to keep everyone happy . Kara is a tough as nails little girl that will do anything to get her sister back . Even do something to an unsuspecting young boy like Misha. The characters are written with such intensity . They are more then just kids and as you read you really start to care for them and what happens.
This was a quick afternoon read and once I started I couldn't put it down, the pages basically turned themselves . The story maybe post apocalyptic but it is also a story of family love and what you will do to save the ones you love . There is an intensity packed into the pages of this book, and the writer takes us on a ride full of some twists and turns . I honestly wished that the book was a little longer so we could see what happens to characters after the deed is done . Other then it being short I absolutely loved this book and I am hoping that there will be a book two.
This is a new author to me and I am sooo glad that I found Brian Parker's books . I am off to see more about this author . So if you want a great afternoon read for by the beach or pool and you love post apocalyptic stories please check out THE GUILD by Brian Parker

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE
HAPPY MONDAY ALL , seeing as Saturday was free comic book day . I decided to do a graphic novel as a review today. BLACK MAGICK volumne 1 the awakening by Greg Rucka . This graphic novel blew me away
BOOK BLURB
BOOK BLURB
Collecting the first five issues of the critically-acclaimed new series from creators GREG RUCKA (Lazarus, Star Wars: Shattered Empire) and NICOLA SCOTT (Secret Six, Earth-2). Rowan Black is a detective with the Portsmouth PD... and a witch, two aspects of her life she has struggled to keep separate. Now someone is targeting Rowan, someone who knows her secrets and means to expose her... or worse.
MY REVIEW
MY REVIEW
Is it wrong to have a girl crush on a character in a graphic novel . Well I must say I did and this comic had me hooked from the very first page. This is a supernatural thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole read . Let me introduce you to Rowan Black, a detective and a witch. She is a strong witch and a great detective, struggling to keep both aspects of her life separate . But when someone is targeting her both her worlds are going to collide.
The author has created such strong complex characters . Rowan is one kick ass detective that will take anyone down that gets in her way. But she has secrets that she doesn't want anyone to know about. She is tough and no nonsense. The supporting characters are varied and also deep and complex.
The illustrations are done in mostly grey shades which adds to the over all darkness of the book. Which in my opinion makes for one great addition to the story . Mr Rucka takes us on such an intense journey that will keep you flipping pages . I must say that he is a power house when it comes to writing a graphic novel. The way he writes is complex and witty. This is a book for all those people that love Walking Dead and Crime fiction novels .

good morning everyone
Good Thursday morning all today we are going to review DELTA FORCE by Julie Morgan.
BOOK BLURB
Special Ops soldier Logan Saunders is at the top of his game. He has led nearly impossible missions in the heat of war, while having a wife at home who waited for his return.
Or so he thought. Receiving word of a fatal collision, Logan returns home and soon discovers her infidelity.
Training missions, parties, and women become his life's focus. When the partying makes him a danger to others and himself, matters are placed into the hands of the military.
When forced with a life changing decision, Logan meets a woman who will change his life. Problem is, she is his assigned therapist. And she is off limits.
Will she be able to help Logan get over his past and forgive his wife? What about forgiving himself?
In the line of fire, there is fight or flight. This is a fight Logan intends to win.
MY REVIEW
I must admit that this is the first military related book I have had the privilege to read . Let me introduce you to Logan a special ops soldier . He has it all a great job he loves and a wife at home waiting for him . Until the day he looses it all in an instant when his wife dies in an accident . Now he is a changed man , partying till all hours , using women and training missions with his unit . He is slowly killing himself until the day the military step in and send him to a therapist . Will she be able to bring him back to the man he was before he implodes . Will he ever be able to forgive himself and forgive his dead wife .
Logan is your typical alpha male , he oozes sex when he walks into a room . But man he is also going through hell and doesn't want any help. Trust me you will want to climb him like a spider monkey but then there are moments that you want to slap him hard . Then as you continue to read you start hoping that he will pull through and get the love that he wants and needs . Miranda is a strong woman that will not take any shit that Logan throws at her . As his therapist you see her be hard and making him do things he doesn't want to do . They are like fire and ice when they are together . These characters are very well developed and very enjoyable to read
I truly liked this story, knowing people in the military and what can happen when one person is deployed for long periods of time . The author did a pretty good job in keeping the story as true as possible . The characters are well developed and you really start to care for them . This was a quick read for me and I read it in an evening . I am going to look into more books from this author . She is new to me and I truly enjoyed Ms Morgan's writing style, it is emotional and you will want to have a box of tissues handy , you will need it .

GOOD WEDNESDAY EVERY ONE
Good Wednesday everyone . Have you ever had a book that was really good and you sit and read it in an afternoon. That is the way it was with THE SIX DOMICILE (The domicile series book 1) by Courtney Ruggles.
BOOK BLURB
In a future ravaged by greed and war, The Domicile has emerged. A new civilization governed by clandestine Elders where citizens are united by white masks and uniform identities. To remove one’s mask, to go outside the Domicile, to show defiance, means being sent to the Meurtre, a horrifying death sentence.
Q437B doesn’t follow the rules. She craves sunlight, dares to love her childhood friend B116A, and–the most forbidden of all–has seen the true face of her beloved beneath his mask.
But when Q becomes an Adult, The Domicile threatens to take away everything that makes her happy. She is forced to marry an abusive soldier who demands she conform.
Whispers spread about the unconventional lessons she teaches her new students. And when Q openly disobeys the Elders, the people become restless, questioning the truth of the world in the wake of such defiance.
Rumblings of discontent stir as others begin to follow the path toward their freedom. The Revolution has begun, and Q is the spark that ignited the flames.
The Sixth Domicile is book 1 in the Domicile Series, A New Adult dystopian. Fans of Veronica Roth’s Divergent and Ally Condie’s Matched series will love The Sixth Domicile.
MY REVIEW
This is a coming of age book that will make you go hmmmmm. Set in the future after a revolution has wiped out mostly everything . People are housed in 10 different domiciles around the world. They are all dressed the same in all black with no skin showing and masks that never come off . They are decorated but not allowed to come off . Their names are stripped away and they are given only letters to tell who they are. There are rules set down by the Elders, a group of men hidden away .
Q437B is a young lady growing up in this domicile , she questions the rules and doesn't want to abide by them . With her best friend and love B she feels the sun on her face and the grass under her feet.
Until the day that is taken away from her and she is forced to marry a man that was picked for her . A man who she doesn't love and is forced to conform to the rules . But there is more to every story and will Q and B be together and will they rise above the Elders.
The characters in this novel are complex and are well developed . The story is told in Q's point of view. She is strong and trying to conform. She is a free spirit that just wants to live her life with her best friend B and find love. You see her transform and go through hell and come back out the other side stronger and more willing to fight for what is right. She wants to teach the kids about free will but is torn between that and keeping B and her grandmother safe. She is a fight in every sense of the word . B is a sweet guy that any girl would fall in love with . He is tough but sweet and wants more then the domicile can offer . He would do anything for Q to the point of letting her go outside the domicile with him. They are best friends and in love with each other . They will do anything survive and be together, even die. I must say all the characters are written very well , you have your evil ones and the ones that you might think are evil but turn out to be good . You will cheer all these characters on.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the story line had me sucked in from the first chapter . It reminds me of the movies that M.NIGHT SHAMALA directed . People living in a place where you are only known by a letter and a number . The author takes us on a ride, full of twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages. You will cheer and shed a tear or two as you read . I must say this book gave me a book hangover . I had to finish it off and find out what happened to Q and B. I can't wait for book two to come out and see what happens. I want to know if Q and B survive and find the true happiness they deserve. If you want great dystopian book full of twists and turns . Check it out . I know you won't be disappointed
4.5 stars for me

GOOD TUESDAY EVERYONE
Well today is kind of a special day here . I am actually excited to share with you the very first graphic novel that blew me away . A SHROUDED WORLD BY Mark Tufo and John Obrien.
BOOK BLURB
Meet Jack Walker a tough no-nonsense former Air Force pilot. He is torn from his family and the Night Runner filled apocalyptic world and thrown into an alien landscape where monsters both familiar and beyond disturbing abound. He meets up with Michael Talbot a wise-ass talking former Marine and John the Tripper, a hippie who has yet to realize the 60’s are over. They have also been ripped from their world overrun with zombies. Together they must overcome the harshness of the Shrouded World! This is the story of when separate realities clash! Based on the Best Selling novel A Shrouded World by Mark Tufo and John O’Brien.
MY REVIEW
I was blown away when I found out these two authors decided to do a graphic novel. So of course I grabbed it right away . I was blown away with the story line . Jack Walker meets up with Michael Talbot and John the tripper are such a hoot . They are fighting their way through the zombie apocalypse. They realize their worlds are ripped apart. Their worlds clash but they need each other to survive .
The characters in the graphic novel are diverse we have Mark Walker and ex air force man who is no nonsense guy that wants to survive . He is a tough guy and just wants to survive . Michael Talbot is a rough and tough ex marine who also just wants to get back to his world . The best character is John the tripper . I have never laughed so hard reading this character. He is a burnt out hippie that doesn't really grasp what is going on sometimes. He is a laugh a min and he is stuck in the 60's and doesn't want to leave anytime soon .
This comic is based on the book by the same name and actually brings the characters to life and adds another dimension. The illustrations are great and the story line is just the tip of the ice berg .
The only problem it was short really short but that's ok it keeps us wanting more . Now I am going to have go and reread the novel. I hope there are more coming cause this is a set I would love to keep getting . So keep them coming guys .

GOOD MONDAY MORNING ALL
Good Monday morning all I hope you all had a great weekend. I know I did I sat in the sun and read all weekend long.. Today we are going to review QUEEN OF BONES by Greg Zimmerman .
BOOK BLURB
A seventeen year old orphan, alone in the deadly post-apocalyptic world. She’s feisty, yet vulnerable; a woman, and yet a young girl. And with her discovery, she just might be humanity’s savior. Meet Sara Hill . . .
Two years after the advent of the deadly solar storms known as sunthrobs, civilization is in a shambles. Most animal species are extinct. The few people who survived have formed roving bands of sun-scorched degenerates who scour the land for scarce
provisions. The periodic sun throbs continue to take their deadly toll. Survival is a day to day struggle.
Sara Hill and two other teenagers are driven from their fallout shelter home. They head west, hoping to find asylum in a rumored Seattle colony that is
striving to re-establish civilization. If caught by the
marauding bands, they will be robbed, the two girls raped, and all of them most likely killed. Sara brings her discovery of how to survive the sun
throbs with her. But will she herself survive the horrors of the road? Does the fabled Seattle colony even exist? Either way, there is no turning back.
MY REVIEW
What do you do when you are among the last living people on the planet . You survive any way you can. Meet Sara Hill living in the wasteland called earth . After a solar storm basically wipes every human being off the face of the earth. Sara and her two friends start out to find the colony in Seattle if the colony even exists . The thing that is saving them is Sara's rheumatoid arthritis and there breathing poles . Sara has lost so much and is trying to get everything back that she once had . Along the way she meets enemies and enemies that turn out to be her friends and greatest allies. Will she survive the sun throbs and the people, to help all of man kind
This is such a different twist on the end of the world and the apocalypse. And actually kind of creepy in a way also because you actually hear of solar flares and that in the news . So when you are reading along you start to think that wow maybe it could really happen. Or maybe its just me and my paranoid mind. The author writes of a vast wasteland that is scorched and dead , nothing can survive the extreme heat and staying alive is a daily struggle,
The main character in the book Sara is one strong seventeen year old girl. Who sometime you just want to slap because of the way she acts , until you remember she is only seventeen and that's how seventeen year olds act . There are moments that you feel sorry for her and what she has to go through because of her arthritis . It just makes things so much worse for her . She is a survivor and you see her grow up along her journeys . She takes a lot of crap but also dishes it out too . She is willing to do anything to stay alive even using her sexuality to help her survive. She is the type of character that one moment you want to hug her and the next you want to slap her . Which is the type of character I kind of like . The cast of characters that she meets along the way are very diverse . From the degenerates to the men from the seattle colony. The all teach Sara a way to survive and she teaches them a thing or two also.
I truly enjoyed this book , the author took us on a fast paced roller coaster ride full of twists and turns. This take on the apocalypse is new and exciting to me . Its honestly nature made and actually has a way of happening . There aren't any zombies running around there is a bigger danger then zombies in the book . It is man and what he will do to survive anything.
Over all I really enjoyed the book but I did find the first part to be a bit boring but once you get past the first 4 chapters the book really picks up and takes you on a fast paced ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat . You will be cheering for Sara and also wanting to strangle her at the same time . You will love some characters and wish for death to others . This story will take you to edge of your seat and bring you back from the edge time after time . This is the book you want to read if you want to read about the end of the earth and the apocalypse that doesn't have zombies or was started by and out break . This is the book for you and I so can't wait to see what happens to Sara and the gang in book 2. So if you want a great book check it out QUEEN OF BONES by Greg Zimmermann
