Good Thursday all . Today we are going to review THE MUSIC OF THE DEEP by Elizabeth Hall .

                            BOOK BLURB

Fleeing an abusive marriage and tormented by her past, Alexandra Turner finds solace in a small coastal town on Puget Sound and a job with a local marine biologist studying orcas.
After befriending a group of locals, Alex learns that she has moved to a place that has a reputation of being the “most haunted town in Washington.” Such superstitions would be easy to dismiss…if Alex wasn’t already on edge.
Haunted by shreds of memories of her days with her husband, Alex can’t keep from looking over her shoulder. As unexplained sounds and scents accumulate and unnerving forces seem to take hold, Alex is beginning to believe that she’s not escaping her ghosts, after all. In fact, she might finally be inviting them in.
                        MY REVIEW

When I sat down to read this book , I really didn't know what I was getting into . This is a haunting book that had me hooked by the third chapter . Alexandra Turner is running from a very abusive relationship. Heading to the east coast and the town of Puget Sound . She has the perfect job there studying the Orcas with a marine biologist . When she befriends a group of well I will say kind of off beat friends at a knitting bee . She finds out that she is living in a town that has been dubbed the most haunted town in all of Washington state . She also arrives in Puget Sound at the wrong time of year where its raining all the time and its just eerie out there . Between the knitting addicts that become her friends and the animal whisperer that is her neighbour .  She wouldn't have thought anything of the ghosts but Alexandra is already on edge when unexplained things and bumps in the night keep her on edge. Will she over come the past or invite the ghosts in .
The characters in this book really captivated me . They are well written and complex.  Alexandra is such a tortured character . We know that she is broken and that she is hiding a lot from her past .  We do see her grow a little and start to let go of the past but when the ghosts start to haunt we see an uncertain woman again. Now my favourite character is Emmie , she is the animal/ people whisperer. She is quirky and has some really funny moments in the book. She also becomes a really good friend to Alexandra and does guide her through the memories of the abuse .  The knitting addicts are so much fun to read they are like a family and rib each other all the time . They are there for Alexandra when she needs them . Now Maggie is a little tougher to read she is a strong character but there is a gruffness to her that kind of rubs people the wrong way . But as you read the layers of Maggie do start to peel away . Trust me you will fall in love with these characters just like I did
The author takes us on such an emotional journey in this book . There were times when I was reading that I wanted to go through my kindle and help Alexandra out of the
relationship. I was cheering for her the whole time. There were other times when I was laughing out loud . The knitting addicts for one instance . They harped on each other but when push comes to shove they were there for each other . Also Emmie was a hoot to read. There were a couple of spots where it kind of fell just a little flat but over all I really enjoyed reading this book . This was the first book I have read from this author and I am glad I took the chance . I will be looking at more books from this author . So if you want a haunting book that will keep you reading all night long . Add this one to your summer reading list

Good Monday all and happy MEMORIAL day to those in the U.S.A . Today we have a book that should be on your summer reading list . A friend of mine told me about this book and seeing as I am going through an OUTLANDER withdrawal . This book hit the spot . AWAKEN MY LOVE by Robin Schone

                          BOOK BLURB

Thirty-nine-year-old Elaine Metcliffe awakens in another century...inside another woman's body...married to a war-scarred 19th century English baron who is a far cry from her own 20th century desk-jockey husband. Bent on seducing the resentful young bride he believes her to be, Charles tempts Elaine with erotic pleasures she has only read about. But fending off a handsome nobleman who is tutored in sexual Tantrics is the least of her worries. Just when she is beginning to adapt to life sans tampons and Häagen-Dazs ice-cream, the owner of Elaine's new body delivers a note: she wants her body back ...

                       MY REVIEW
This is the first book I have read by this author and I must say I was blown away . The author takes us on a very erotic trip back to the 19th century . Where she wakes up in another woman's body to a English baron, who by the way is built for sin and wants to wake up the sexual desire in his young wife . Elaine/ Morrigan is torn between her 20th century ideals and the ideals of those of ladies in the 19th century. Will Charles win out or will Elaine have to give up her place when the woman she traded bodies with want her body back .
This story had me hooked from the very first page . The characters are well written and complex . Elaine/ Morrigan is such a fun character . Elaine is transported back to the 19th century and is totally confused on what is happening . She was hilarious as she is trying to figure out what the heck is going on . She honestly thinks that she is going crazy and is thinking that she should be locked away . When she is finally figuring things out she grows and starts to let go of Elaine 20th century and starts becoming the lady of the house .  She is such a hoot to read, you will love her trust me . Charles well what can we say about him . He is built for sin let me tell you . He has read the karma sutra and knows the way of tantric sex . He would be any woman's fantasy . He is also a frustrated man , we can see his frustration though out the book . He wants his bride and wants to love her with all his heart . We see him tease and love his bride Elaine / Morrigan . He also stands up for her through out the book especially when her family shows up and starts to belittle and put her down . Elaine starts to stand up to these people and man she grows leaps and bounds when she does that.  You will absolutely hate her family , they remind me of social climbing piranha . They are arrogant and honestly during the dining scenes they remind me of pigs at a trough .  You will oh so laugh at these people . Her uncle is just creepy and he is hiding so much .
This story had me hooked from the beginning . The author takes us on such a fun journey . We see so many transformations through out the book . The author doesn't sugar coat what life is like in the 1800s . I mean it sounds like torture corsets alone would drive me crazy but the chamber pots yeah no.  Just imagine what you would do for your time of the month without protection yeah I can't either . The author has Elaine fumble through it with humor .  I will warn you there is a twist at the end of the book that had me wow that's how it happened . She totally turned the story on its side . If there is only one thing the ending I wish had more of a punch and declarations of love between them . Don't get me wrong the ending was awesome was hoping for a little bit more fireworks .  This won't be the last book I read from this author . So if you want an epic read for your summer reading list this is the book for you

Today we have a great book for you all to add to your summer reading list . EVOLVED (the Flash series book 3 ) by Jessica Gomez .

                            BOOK BLURB

Ian’s heart shreds when the Infected drag Lillie into the darkness. Her screams echo off the hills, pinging her location, until they’re abruptly silenced. Streaks of blood are the only remnants of her trail, but the snow quickly covers all traces of their escape. Ian will stop at nothing to find her, almost losing his sanity to the brutal winter of the Blue Mountains.

Lillie finds herself in an unpredictable situation when she regains consciousness. She’s held captive by the Infected, forced to live inside their confines. She discovers an unlikely alliance in her prison, causing tension within the pack.

Constant instability within their pecking order leaves Lillie vulnerable, triggering premonitions of freedom that provide her the strength to continue. Her visions begin to lead her down a confusing path, presenting an unthinkable outcome.

With the Infected evolving and regenerating forgotten traits, will Lillie have a chance to escape? Can Ian put the pieces of the puzzle together before it’s too late to save her? Or will the Infected outsmart them all at every turn?

                      MY REVIEW

This is the third book in the Flash series and I was so excited to sit down and start this one . I have loved the other books in the series . So when I dove into this one I was taken back to after the flash . Lillie is taken by the infected leaving Ian their daughter and the rest of the survivors trying to find her . She was taken in the middle of a blinding snow storm in the blue mountains . She is held by the infected and finds out what life is like as a slave to the intelligent form of the infected . She also finds out a few other things while she was held captive. Ian is fighting tooth and nail to get to her . Will they find each other and will the infected be taken care of forever .
The characters in this book have become very complex . I really love Lillie she is a fighter .  She will do anything to get back to her family and does . I truly liked her and the poor girl gets put through the ringer by the author.  Ian is tough but also broken , he is trying so hard to be there for everyone in their tribe but his heart is breaking on loosing Lillie . You see him go from broken to a hero by the end of the story . He is a really good guy . There are a new form infected in this book they are more intelligent and almost seem human . That is what Jeff is . He is the head of the infected group that took Lillie . He treats Lillie like she is his . Which is fun to read you see how she can tame him in a way .
The author takes us on a roller coaster ride full of twists and turns . The way the author takes her characters and watches the grow naturally is a great feat . Most authors hurry the growth of the characters . This author lets them come together naturally .  The story is fast paced and you will be on the edge of your seat all the way through this book . I like the concept of this book it isn't your normal zombie book . I actually wouldn't classify them as zombies . They are their own type of end of the earth creatures.  I truly enjoyed this book and can't wait to see where the author takes her characters in the next book . So if you want a great series full of action and mystery with a touch or romance .Yes peeps we can have romance at the end of the world . These are the books for you . So check them out and add a bit of zombie to your summer reading list

Good Wednesday all , I hope you are all having a great hump day . Today we are going to review one of my favourite authors . KNIGHTS OF THE SWORDS( knights of the tarot book 4) by Nina Mason .

                            BOOK BLURB

Finn MacKnight, a womanizing bartender in New Orleans, has no clue how the blood-red moon that appears in the sky one night (while he’s having yet another meaningless sexual encounter) is about to change his life in unbelievable ways. Then, the creepy-yet-caring uncle who adopted him as a baby, reveals the astonishing truth: Finn is a faery—an Avalonian drone, to be precise—and is to lead a rebellion in another world—against the wicked faery sorceress Morgan Le Fay.

In the thrilling adventure that follows, Finn meets Wella Lyon, who teaches him the ways of the ancient Celtic warriors, how to call forth his inner wolf, and the true meaning of love and intimacy.

But will the lessons Finn learns from Wella, the Druids of Brocaliande, and the knights from the previous books in this magical series prepare him to lead a coup d’état against Queen Morgan and her army of vampires? Only time...and an ancient prophecy...will tell.
                         MY REVIEW

This is the last book in the Knight of the Tarot series and I will say I think it is the best of the series . Finn MacKnight is a womanizer. He lives in the town of sin New Orleans and has no idea what he actually is and what the red moon means, shining outside his bedroom one night . Until his uncle sits him down and tells him that he is the one of a prophecy , that he is actually fairy and needs to lead the rebellion  against Morgan Le Fay. With the help of Wella Lyon who is a celtic warrior and his mate . Will they survive the rebellion and will they find the love that is inside of them . Will Finn be able to fulfill the ancient prophecy .
This book is very character driven . The characters are well written and very complex . Finn is such a playboy at the beginning of the book , he is a cad and will take almost anyone home for a night of fun time in bed .  Until the day he finds out what his destiny is  you see him start to grow up and take his new role seriously . He also finds out who the woman is that will complete him. He takes the mantle of leader seriously and you see him triumph and fail but he always comes back fighting harder . For everyone that has helped him and for the woman he loves .  Wella is a kick butt woman , she is a warrior and a sweet woman. She tries to hide the attraction to Finn cause she wants him to fulfill his destiny , When they are together they are a great couple that bring out the best in each other . I truly love these two at the beginning I kind of wanted to slap both of them upside the head a few times but they won me over in the second half of the book . I fell for Finn when he became the warrior that they needed . Wella grew on me as she became a warrior in her own right .
The author takes us on a emotional roller coaster ride .  There are lots of twists and turns in this book that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I have read all the knights of tarot books and I must say the author did the ending right . I think that this is the best book out of the series . There are a few moments where you want to kill the main characters but they do redeem themselves over and over again. I am kind of sad that there might not be anymore books in this series , I truly enjoyed each and every story. So if you want a good series about Fairies and Avalon theses are the books for you . There are hot sexy knights and the ladies that love them .

Welcome to the dragon realm where you will travel into the past and into the future. You will meet your dragon hero and soar to the stars and back . Welcome to stoking the flames where dragons are the kings and their mates are the ones they are hunting for .
The stories in this anthology are all well written each author takes us on an adventure . They all take us on great adventures . Each author leaves her own mark on the dragon tales .
One of my favourite stories comes from Victoria Zak. HEARTS UNDER FIRE .
Stone McMarcus is a dragonkine guardian sworn to protect dragons . He has his own security company . Cynthia is his mate but she is also a detective working the DRAGON FLIGHT unit in Pineville . They come back together over a dead rogue dragon . But what they don't know is that they are in trouble and only their love will get them through .
The characters are very well written and complex . Stone is hot sexy and a dragon, He is also a man of mystery that has kept things from his mate . Cynthia or Cyn is a tough cop with a little extra she is also a she dragon . She is very determined and really lovable .  They are great individually but when they are together they are electric . We also get to meet Charlotte a sweet ancient that we don't know much about but she has a connection with Cynthia .
I really loved this story , it had sexy dragons and intrigue oh and did I say sexy dragons . The author had me on the edge of my seat . I wanted to find out why Stone let Cyn go and what was on the flash drive. I want the author to expand this story there is so many questions like who the heck is Charlotte .
Over all I really enjoyed all the stories in this anthology . I love everyone's take on dragons . So if you want a great set of stories that will have you wanting a dragon of your own check out this anthology

Good Friday all , today we are going to review a new book by Megan Hart . MOMENTS OF DISARRAY an Alex Kennedy story.

                            BOOK BLURB

Alex Kennedy knows he's a rascal. A rogue. An arrogant bastard. He wreaked havoc on his best friend's marriage by falling in love with his best friend's wife, and now he's trying to move on. Sex, drugs, booze, boys, girls and toys. He's hell-bent on forgetting the past and running toward a future he doesn't believe he deserves, only to discover the truth in moments of disarray.

                       MY REVIEW

I first met Alex in Tempted and thought wow he is such a rogue . He is good looking and has a devil may care attitude . I really just thought of him as a player . He sure pulled it off . But I must say we find a different Alex in the story. He is on a self destruction course trying to wipe out the one thing he shouldn't of done . Fall in love with his best friends wife . Will he ever put the past behind him and will he find love again.
I absolutely adore the characters in this book . Alex is such a complex man . One min you want to kick his back side and the next min you are wanting to take him to bed .  He is so broken in this book . He is trying to mask the pain with everything and anything he can. As we see him go through the pain he starts to grow . After finding Luke and the one night stand that didn't stop . Alex grows up just a little . I really liked Luke he seemed to be a calming influence on him at times. He was there for Alex when it seemed Alex needed him . But he is also struggling with a few things about himself and his feelings . He is a sweet guy a confused guy but a sweet guy . Jamie and his wife also make an appearance in the book which just makes everything more uncomfortable . You will want to hug everyone  and make sure everything will be ok.
The author took us on such an emotional roller coaster ride . She basically puts us through the ringer along with her characters . You will want to strangle Alex in one breath and in the next breath you are wanting to love him up good . I love the authors writing style , it isn't flowery and long winded . She direct and to the point about where she is taking her characters . This is not a stand alone book you should really read Tempted and Everything changes so can get more of the story . I will tell you they will blow your socks off and you will not want to put them down .

Good Thursday all

Good Thursday all or as I like to call it Friday eve and one step closer to the weekend . Today we are going to go zombie on you and review THE PLAGUE 2 the long road by Emir Skalonja

                           BOOK BLURB

Barely making it out alive, Becky and Jill leave the Love Canal disaster behind, in an effort to travel south and into a more rural area. Armed and scavenging for provisions, they try keeping a low profile. But in a world ravaged by the dead, dangers lurk around every corner. Driven by mysterious signs and markers appearing on their journey to find a surviving community, they trek across the dangerous wasteland infested not only by the undead, but by sadistic survivalists who don't care whether their kill is a zombie or a human being.

                       MY REVIEW

This story starts after the disaster of Love Canal, Jill and Becky are trying to survive and get out . They are heading away from the city and heading south . Trying to stay out of sight from the zombies and other people that want to harm them . They stumble upon some signs leading them to a band of survivors . But are these people any safer then the zombies out there. Will they be able to put their survival skills to the test and will they survive both the zombies and the people who want to hurt them more .
I truly like this author's writing style . He takes you on a journey full of twists and turns . I love that the two main characters in this book are female . It shows that we can survive with the best of them and would be able to take care of ourselves when push comes to shove . I must admit this it does have a fear of the walking dead kind of vibe to it . There are survivors that are doing everything in their power to survive and others that want to take that away for themselves .  Which to me is very enjoyable
The characters are well written and they seem to more complex then in book one . Jill is strong and seems to be growing in herself in this book . Becky is kicking butt and taking names . She has also grown and is now fighting her way towards safety . One on one we have two women that can take care of themselves but together they are an unstoppable team . I really like them as a team .
The author really takes us to the edge and back in this book . This is a very character driven book and the author keeps us on the edge of the seat . He doesn't let up on the tension and there is blood shed . This is a great addition to the zombie genre .

Trevor Willis is sexy, sweet, and oh so fun. He’s also my best friend’s brother-in-law. That should mean he’s off-limits, or that I should be off-limits to him.

Someone probably should have told us that before my best friend married his brother, before the morning of the wedding when we woke in each other’s arms with gaping holes in my memory.

They didn’t.

We did.

The hilarious truth behind our crazy, secret adventure secured this handsome, off-limits man in my heart. But alas, life goes on. After our one secret night, we went back to our lives—our hardworking, solitary lives.

And then it happened.

My phone began to buzz. Each night with thousands of miles between us, we laughed, talked, and shared. And then, the phone stopped ringing.

Before it did, I knew one thing...

Our secret one had bloomed and blossomed, and now that our circumstances have changed I want another one!

Shana Price is that one woman. You know, the one who suddenly makes the world more than a place to work, but also a place to live. Usually shy and awkward, in her presence I want to be more—I am more. I don’t even have to try.

She’s my one. I knew it the moment I first met her. What followed simply confirmed it.

The problem is the little hassle of the thousands of miles between us.

I tried to make it work, but each phone call made it harder. (Yes, that is a pun) I couldn’t take it any more—and she became the one who got away.

Now, everything has changed.

Shana is back in the United States—all I have to do is make her see that her job isn’t the only reason to stay.

That shouldn’t be a problem, right?

From a secret one to another one!

Try Aleatha’s lighter side for a guaranteed smile—the perfect getaway.

Have you been Aleatha’d?

Aleatha's "Lighter Ones" are all stand alone lighter romances guaranteed to make you smile, possibly shed a tear, and definitely enjoy the ride! They may be read in any order.

                         MY REVIEW

What do you do when the man you woke up with at your best friends wedding is the man you need in your life but an ocean keeps you apart . You go back to your lives and try to keep things light . Until the day you run into each other again and realize the spark is still there . Trevor and Shana must figure out what to do when the one that got away has never ever really left your heart . Will they finally get their happily ever after .
This book is such a fun read, the author takes us on a laugh out loud adventure in dating .This story takes place about a year after the fateful night when Shana and Trevor met and had a night together . Shana is now in New York planning a lingerie show and Trevor heads to the show as part of a bachelor party . When they meet again sparks fly which I will say is hot, hot , hot. I truly love these characters . Shana is such a great character, she is some times a little scattered and worries a lot . But she is also a lot of fun to read and you will get such a kick out of her . She takes life by the horns and doesn't want to any regrets when it comes to her job and her love life . Even if that means just two weeks with the man who has her heart . You get to see her grow and thrive and you will be a little heart broken also.
Now lets talk Trevor , oh my ladies you will be drooling over him . He is sexy and sweet and a whole bunch of fun . He will take your heart and squeeze it tight . He loves with all his heart and he needs Shana in his life . Trust me ladies this man will be your new book boyfriend by the time you are done reading . Kimbra and Duncan are back to help out the couple and there is a new character Stephan, Shana's best friend and confidante . He is her calming influence when she gets all frazzled . I really like him and would love to know more about him.
This is such a fun read , I love the lighter side of this author . Her writing is full of twists and turns . Trust me you will laugh so hard at some of the things the author does to these two characters . You will also shed a tear or two towards the end of the book . This book will make a great summer read . So if you want a great book for this summer , pool time . Check out this series .

It’s been ten years since her daughter disappeared, seven years since her marriage ended, and only months since the last clue in Ellie’s case was unearthed. So when she meets an unexpectedly charming man in a café, no one is more surprised than Laurel at how quickly their flirtation develops into something deeper. Before she knows it, she’s meeting Floyd’s daughters—and his youngest, Poppy, takes Laurel’s breath away.

Because looking at Poppy is like looking at Ellie. And now, the unanswered questions she’s tried so hard to put to rest begin to haunt Laurel anew. Where did Ellie go? Did she really run away from home, as the police have long suspected, or was there a more sinister reason for her disappearance? Who is Floyd, really? And why does his daughter remind Laurel so viscerally of her own missing girl?

                      MY REVIEW
When I sat down to read this book I didn't know what to expect . I was pleasantly surprised .  I sat down and started reading , I was engrossed by the third chapter . The story has an eerie feeling to it that can send shivers up your spine . The main character Laurel is reeling from a devastating trauma of her life . Her daughter has supposedly run away but she feels that some one took her. After ten years she is trying to put her life back together and when she meets a man in a café . Things start to get serious until the day she meets his daughters . Old wounds open up and questions arise . Will she be able to put the past behind her and will she figure out why and where her daughter is .
The author writes a good story with characters that are strong . The main character Laurel has been through hell and back . She is broken but also doesn't give up. She is put through the ringer so many times . You really start to feel sorry for her , you want to wrap her up and tell her everything will be ok. As you read though you see her as a stronger woman when she has to be .  I like how the author makes us feel for the villains in this book . Not going to give you names because it will spoil the book for you . You do kind of feel for them and what they did . They did it for the wrong reasons but the aftermath is right . You will have so many different feeling for them and trust me you will go OMG a few times .
This is a dark read and will keep you on the edge of your seat most of the time . There is also a sadness that runs through this book . A sadness for Ellie and a sadness for Laurel and what they went through . Ellie at the hands of her capture and what she had to go through and Laurel for what happened afterwards and the pieces of her life after Ellie was taken.  The book had some good twists and turns but I did kind of figured out what was happening about 30 percent of the way through the book . Over all I enjoyed this dark emotional read . So if you like books that are dark and emotional this will be the book for you

Good Monday all today we have a great new book by one of my all time favourite dark romance author . She has taken on cowboys and made them sexier and cockier then ever . So let me introduce you to the men of Trail of Sin . Knotted is the first book

                           BOOK BLURB

I try to forget her.
It’s impossible.

Growing up together, Conor and I shared all our firsts.
First love, first kiss, first…
Not all our firsts.

We were sixteen the night she was violently assaulted while I helplessly watched.
I’ll never forget the sounds of her suffering.
Or my inconsolable agony when she left Oklahoma.

Years later, she returns to honor our teenage pact.
Except the boy she loved is gone, replaced by a ruthless cattle rancher knotted with secrets.
She doesn’t know my dark cravings or the trails of sin that lead to her.

I don’t deserve her, but one truth remains.
She’s mine.

TRAILS OF SIN series (HEAs with no cliffhangers - must be read in order):
Knotted #1 - Jake and Conor
Buckled #2 - Jarret and Maybe
Booted #3 - Lorne and Raina

                       MY REVIEW
Knotted is the first book in the series and it is an emotional second chance at love . The author starts off with a bang . We meet Conor and Jake , sweethearts at sixteen . Where the one night where they were going to pledge their love to each other . Thing turned horrible as Conor is assaulted over and over and Jake has to witness the assault . Conor is sent away after the assault and away from the young man she loved with all her heart . But things are not as rosy for either of them when they are apart . When they finally see each other will they be able to pick up the pieces and put the past behind them .
The author wrote some really good characters . We see Jake and Conor at the innocent part of their life . Then we see them all grown up , hiding things from each other. Conor is such a good woman . She is trying to get over what is happening but she is struck with ptsd and has so many triggers . It is like she is broken into a million pieces . When she finally comes home she is shattered again  because of Jake . She becomes stronger and more determined as the book goes on . With Jake's help she starts to over come some of her triggers .  Jake is wow what can I say about Jake . He is sexy as sin , a little arrogant but has a heart of gold when it comes to Conor . He is hiding a lot from Conor but does come through it all and they both start to heal. They were a cute couple when we first meet them but the adult versions are so hot and will set you kindle on fire .
There are so many twists and turns in this book . The author will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time, There is a trigger at the beginning of the book which might not be for the feint of heart . Trust me people you will laugh, and cry buckets trust me have a box of Kleenex beside you . Also have a fan cause it gets hot and I mean hot. This is another hit for this author . I can't wait to read the rest of the series . So if you like hot cowboys with tortured souls this series will be the series for you .
