TODAY IS ANOTHER ZOMBIE BOOK

It is the day before HALLOWEEN and today I am reviewing another zombie book. Today's book
is GEORGE'S TERM A ZOMBIE NOVEL. by Catt Dahman

BOOK BLURB
In Northeast Texas, the epic adventure of a group of survivors begins as they take refuge in a hospital, waiting to see if the world-wide Red Infection can be stopped before all humanity is wiped out. As victims awaken from a coma, they now have the basic need to attack loved ones, to spread the infection, and to feed on warm flesh. Only rage remains. In days, the dead outnumber the living, and the US turns to the ultimate weapons to stop the infection.

In a world filled with zombies, survivors find that the living can be far more inhumane and cruel than anything they have ever imagined, as raiders scavenge for supplies and lawlessness and hatred are the norm. Both outlaws and zombies crave meat. In this time of hopelessness and horror, a bullet to the brain may be the kindest action.
George, an older, retired police officer, sets his own terms: fight and survive or go the way you want, but don’t let the zombies win. He explains that everyone is responsible for his own fate, and if that means going out on unpopular terms, then so be it. Len, a retired Marine; a quiet cowboy, Kim; a hot-tempered Hispanic woman, Julia; and a compassionate young woman, Beth all begin their terrorizing journey, not only to survive, but also to establish a new society, find love and joy in a barren, bloody landscape, and to face gathering enemies.

The first of the compelling series, George’s Terms, introduces a memorable cast of characters and a terrifying vision of a world, burned to rubble and filled with flesh-eating adversaries. As each person faces inner fears and new roles, he finds law and morality must be redefined. Zombies are used as the vehicle, but the story is all about what humans will do to survive when the odds are stacked against them; luckily, for the survivors, George has given them the terms that may keep humans from becoming extinct.

MY REVIEW
This is a gory bloody, scary frightening good book. It is exceptionally well written. This zombie book starts out with  survivors taking refuge in a hospital. Fighting for survival. We met George a retired police officer and his band survivors. Len  a retired marine, and Kim , Julia and Beth. They all come together to survive and begin again.
I absolutely loved this book. Catt writes such vivid believable characters. They are so colorful and believable . You get completely get suckered into the story from the first page of this book. You want to cheer for these survivors. You will fall in love with all of them and want to get their happy endings away the zombies . I loved George he was such a great character, you want to love him and hug him.
The story is well written and when you think you have it figured out Catt will take you a whole different direction and will blow you away. This book will keep you reading well into the night. Your heart will be pounding in your chest as you read. It has realistic story line and great believable characters. Reminds me of the WALKING DEAD in  the way her characters are written and the plot lines . So if you want a great zombie read for tomorrow night check it out. Catt will leave you breathless and you will not be disappointed

NEXT ON OUR HORROR COUNTDOWN IS

Welcome to hump day Wednesday everyone. Today is an oldie but a goodie. I fell in love with this man when I was in my early 20's and have read almost everything he has written since then . Today's book is PHANTOMS by Dean Koontz

BOOK BLURB

CLOSER…

They found the town silent, apparently abandoned. Then they found the first body strangely swollen and still warm. One hundred fifty were dead, 350 missing. But the terror had only begun in the tiny mountain town of Snowfield, California.

AND CLOSER…

At first they thought it was the work of a maniac. Or terrorists. Or toxic contamination. Or a bizarre new disease.

AND CLOSER…

But then they found the truth. And they saw it in the flesh. And it was worse than anything any of them had ever imagined…

MY REVIEW
This is one of the first books I have read from Dean Koontz. I keep coming back to his books when I want a good scare and not all the blood and guts of some books. Dean takes us on such an emotional roller coaster.   Mr. Koontz can create some really eerie, scenes and some really skin crawling scenarios
In this book he mixes historical mysteries along with the ghostly aspect. The lead characters are so well written. I try and not fall in love with the lead characters in a horror story. Cause when I do, they end up dying in some horrible way and my heart breaks. Then the tears start to fall. Yes I become an emotional wreck . That is beside the point. This story is about the total depopulation of a small California mountain town. Everyone basically disappears leaving uneaten meals, tvs left on. When Jennie and Lisa Paige come back for their mother's funeral. They stumble onto the scene and call the police and with the sheriff they realize that there is more out there after them. There is something that goes bump in the night and they are after them. Will they survive the night
I loved this book the way that the author mixes the historical aspects with the intrigue and the creepiness of the way he writes. The characters are well written and this book in my opinion has one of the greatest villains of all time.  This is a fast paced book with a great ending that will leave you trying to catch your breath. The ending of this book doesn't leave you hanging. Wondering what ever happens to the lead characters . Mr Koontz wraps everything up nicely at the end.
I am so happy I found this author and he rapidly became one of my favorite authors and I love his brand of story. So if you want a great read please check out any one of Dean Koontz's books . Trust me you will not be disappointed .

Welcome to I think day 5 of my horror countdown. Todays book is ACCIDENTAL EXORCIST by Joshua Graham

BOOK BLURB

When forensic psychiatrist Abigail Lee meets a baby-killing mother who has been declared criminally insane and acquitted, she discovers something lurking beneath the surface. Something far deeper and more insidious than mere psychopathy. But can she come to terms with her own struggle with science and faith in time to confront it?
MY REVIEW
When I was looking for books to read for my countdown. I came across this book and it was a freebie. So I thought what the hell. This is a good read. It sucks you in from the very beginning. We have a spunky forensic psychiatrist, a woman up for murder and a priest and no this isn't the beginning of  a bad joke
This is a fast read, and your heart will pound just a little harder as you read. It has the elements of a good horror story. Things that go bump in the night and if you think of heaven and hell . Possession of a person. This book will make you think about that.
The only thing I wish is the story could be a bit longer. Delve into the characters a little more and really delve into the good versus evil aspect of the book. The author does do a good job starting to create the characters . They just need to be plumped up a little
Over all this is a good read for Halloween if you like a book that will make you think and like the good versus evil aspect instead of a ghost story check it out . There is also a bonus book with the story

WELCOME TO MONDAY , ITS IS DAY FOUR

Welcome to day four of my horror countdown , I know it should be day five but internet troubles were happening yesterday. I am thinking it was the ghosts having some fun with me. Today's story is THE BASEMENT by Chad P Brown. This is a free Halloween story and it is a short but kind a creepy one

BOOK BLURB
REVISED EDITION

Short story approximately 2,800 words.

On a dare from her best friends, Heather goes inside the town's haunted house, where Frank Blackwell killed his wife and then hung himself in the basement. But while in the house, Heather is confronted by a ghost from her past, her mother who died accidentally one year ago. Now, Heather must not only escape from the evil lurking inside the house, but from the demons of her own past.

MY REVIEW

Their are so many books about basements , and the creepy things that have happened in those basements . This is another basement story with a twist. Heather has entered the house on a dare from her friends. She is stuck in the house where a murder suicide has taken place,
The author had me turning pages in this story from the first page. I know you all get sucked into a story about a basement. There are creepy crawly things and things that go bump in the night also
There is always that fear of the sounds that creak. This story is no exception. Heather must over come some of her own demons and the demons of the house . Who knew that Heather was holding all that inside her. The author takes us on a rollercoaster ride.
Like I said this is a short story but it will be a great read while waiting for the kids to come to the house for trick or treating. Read with the light off and you will look at your basement differently. When you hear that bump in the night or that clanking sound.
ENTER THE BASEMENT IF YOU DARE

DAY 3 OF MY HORROR COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN

WELCOME TO DAY 3 OF MY COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN. Today's book is
DARKNESS APART by Jason Mueller.

BOOK BLURB
Darkness Apart is an anthology of 8 stories ranging from a demon pregnancy to a possessed church. Each story is a little piece of something you aren't sure exists, but worry that does. You never know what is out there.

It might be out there.

In the... darkness apart.

MY REVIEW

Ok seriously I want to know what goes on in Jason's mind.
This book is seriously twisted. If you want to be up all night
long for many nights . This is the book for you if you like things that go bump in the dark.
Jason takes us on a wild ride through hell and back. He lets us into his very dark and twisted mind. Trust me I am looking at the shower differently now. There are no light and scary ghosts in these stories. They go deeper and deeper into your subconscious and take you deep into the hell that can be found there.
Trust me I had to put this book down a few times, yes I admit between both books I was kind a freaked. Jason had me freaked and I usually don't freak easily. He took me to places where I never thought I would go. Oh Dam I forgot about the clowns . I already hated clowns but Jason put a whole new clown terror . I think he scarred me for life yet again. DAM YOU JASON lol.
Jason's stories are shocking and the characters are so believable, you feel all their pain and terror that they are going through.
Jason is becoming one of favorite horror writers . So if you want to be scared and have sleepless nights check out DARKNESS APART , you will not be disappointed

DAY 2 OF MY HALLOWEEN STORIES

Welcome to day two of my horror story reviews . Todays book is THOUGHTS OF HELL by Jason Mueller.

BOOK BLURB

Thoughts of Hell is an anthology of 7 new stories and the original version of Shower Time from the first anthology Darkness Apart. These stories range from the monsters under your bed to the monsters who live next door. Each story is a little piece of something you aren’t sure exists, but worry that it just might be out there or is it all in our heads.

It’s probably just in your head.

In…. Thoughts of Hell

MY REVIEW
Well I should really take the advice of my friend Dana. She told me not to start this book at night. Well I didn't take her advice and started this book just before bed last night. YEAH well I couldn't put it down and then I got the crap scared out of me at a couple of times . Put the book down and watched some silly movie and then went back to the book . It took me 4 hrs to actually read a short book like this.
Jason has a way of taking you to the depths of hell with his short stories. You want to put the book down but then you want to keep reading even though your hairs on your arms standing up on end and your heart is in your throat . This collection of short story will actually terrorize you. IF YOU ARE SCARED OF THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT. THIS MIGHT NOT BE THE BOOK FOR YOU.
Jason is becoming my new favorite horror author . So if you want a good scary read check out THOUGHTS OF HELL . You won't be disappointed .

FIRST DAY OF MY COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN

OCT 23 this is the start of my scary books until HALLOWEEN . Today's book is DEADLOCKED by A.R Wise

BOOK BLURB
David was caught in the middle of the city when the zombie outbreak started. His wife and daughters were at home, stranded on the roof as zombies waited below. He would have to fight through hordes of undead, merciless other survivors, and a series of death defying stunts to get home. However, even if he makes it there, how can he be sure they're safe?
Deadlocked puts you into David's head as he struggles to get home. Then a final confrontation occurs that could guarantee his family's survival, but at what cost?

MY REVIEW

Wow is all I can say about the first installment of the DEADLOCKED SERIES.  This is David's story and what he would do to get to back to his wife and girls.
A.R takes us on a rollercoaster ride in this novella. He grabs you from the very first page and takes us right into the danger and trials of one man and his flight to get home to save them. A.R sets us up from the very beginning and just keeps adding to the terror that is going on. There is so much going on as the zombie apocalypses starts. The paranoia that goes along with it.
I know that it was just a novella David's story but I got hooked. I can't wait to read more . Laura's story will be a good one to read . and whatever happened to the policemen on the pontoon. These are all questions that are coming up as you read. I hope that I can figure out everyone and see if they will survive.
This book is reminisced of the Walking Dead, with the survivors doing anything that will help them survive.   So if you like THE WALKING DEAD  you will like DEADLOCKED.
So if you want a good quick read for this HALLOWEEN season check out DEADLOCKED  Thanks Denise for recommending this set of books to me . YOU ROCK GIRL

GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE

Good Monday everyone. After a weekend of migraine fighting and farm work . I am back with a vengeance. Today  I have the honor to do a review for THE AFTER HOUSE by Michael Cash

BOOK BLURB

Remy Galway and her daughter Olivia are rebuilding their life after a failed marriage in a 300 year old cottage in historic Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island. Little do they know, another occupant is lurking in the haven of their own home. Will the After House be their shelter or their tomb?

MY REVIEW

What can I say. Michael has hit it out of the park yet again.
Meet Remy and her daughter Olivia. They have been through some very bad things in their lives. But will living in a 300 year old house with a resident ghost help or drive them crazy
I have to say, I have fallen in love with Michael Cash. He is now my top guy to go to when I want to read a good ghost story that isn't really gory or far fetched. He likes to take his readers on a journey that will open your heart to what could be and what was.
All his stories have a ghost that needs help and a couple that will eventually help them out and find love in the process.
Michael writes such interesting characters. There isn't your gory evil haunting book. He  writes with such love for his characters  they all have some flaws but in the end they all work everything out
Case in point Remy Galaway she is a divorcee and very scared to be by herself. She thinks that she wasn't good enough for her two timing husband. Captain Eli doesn't like that Remy and Olivia have moved into his house and tries to haunt them.
Michael delivers an award winning book that is a haunting tale of love and loss and redemption. This book will grab your attention and keep you reading well into the night. This is a haunting and loving book. If you like the FLIP AND STILLWELL you will love this book. So if you want a great read for Halloween , with out all the gore and blood. Please check this book out you will not be disappointed

HAPPY HUMP DAY EVERYONE

Happy Wednesday everyone , hope your hump day is going well. Today we are reviewing THE HORSE THAT HAUNTS MY HEART. by Deborah Smith Parker

BOOK BLURB
Set against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, Deborah Smith Parker's coming of age memoir takes place in the 1950s during three transformative summers she spent on a horse ranch. As a young girl growing up in the Midwest, she longed for the life of a cowboy. At age 13 her parents allowed her to go west to live her dream where she met her first love—a horse nick-named Tank. She spent her summers riding, wrangling, and sleeping out under the stars while her extraordinary relationship with Tank developed, shaped by the poignancy, hilarity and drama that tested relationships undergo. Like the rugged mountains in which these events took place, this story has rapidly shifting light and shadow which Parker artfully leads the reader through with humor and well-wrought descriptions of vivid pictures of life on the ranch—daily chores, risky antics and real peril, coping with dirt and dangers on the trail, and learning the language of horses, her horse in particular.

MY REVIEW

This was such a joy to read this book. Being a horse crazy girl my whole life I know where the author is coming from in this autobiographical story. The story is set in the 1950s where a young girl is in love with everything country. She goes a summer camp set in the Rockies. Deborah spends three wonderful summers riding and living the country lifestyle. She ropes and rides and falls in love with Tank. It wasn't love at first site but as they get to know each other a bond is forged that forever changes the author's life .
Now being a girl who loves horses as much as I am , there is nothing better then seeing your soul mate and falling in love with that four legged wonders. That are called horses. They give you their heart and will do anything for you . The author weaves a wonderful tale full emotion. Her stories are funny and emotional all at the same time. There are moments when you are laughing out loud and the next moment you have tears.
As the author weaves her story, you find that there is more to the story then just horses, it is also about friends and the length someone will go to help them out when something is done to them.
Friends standing up for each other. There is heartbreak and courage in each and everyone of those girls that the author has written about in her book
So if you want a book that has courage of conviction, heartbreak and the love of a great horse. That will stick with you for the rest of your life. This is the book for you. If you love horses this is the book for you . If you like adventure this is the book for you. So check it out

today we have a special treat for you

Hey all. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY CANADIAN READERS AND HAPPY COLOMBUS DAY TO ALL MY AMERICIAN FRIENDS

Today we are having a special treat for you . I recently got to interview Lori Meckley  about her books . And Thor might even make an appearance

Hi Lori and welcome to the blog, glad you could make it today

Hi thanks for having me here.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF
I was once described by a lady I worked for as a go getter, that I have fire in my spirit. I think she meant I'm a passionate person who gets shit done to be honest and that pretty much is me in a nut shell. I've done a lot of things in my life I'm proud of. I got pregnant while in 11th grade, about the same time my letter of acceptance from the FBI academy came and I was offered a spot with the Baltimore Colts cheerleaders. I cried because I wanted it all but I knew responsibility came first. So I raised my daughter, got my GED right after she turned a year old, went to college for Criminal Justice, interned crime scene and law enforcement, earned my facial reconstruction certification all after my daughter graduated from high school but I was over the age limit for the academy by then. So I finished college and worked in law enforcement for 6 years until I broke my ankle while chasing a shoplifter. That put an end to a few things because the damage was bad but hey here I am an indie author working a full-time job for the government. Who knew right? Life is like a windy day, sometimes you can walk without your dress blowing over your head showing the world your panties
and other times it's open for the world to see.

YOU HAVE A BOXED SET OF BOXES OUT RIGHT NOW. CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR BOOKS
The Butterfly House was my second indie book. This set is the first three books in the series and a spin off children's book. It was only going to be one book but as I wrote it the secondary characters just stole my heart. They all wanted to tell me their story so I thought ok trilogy, HA nope as it sits now there will be three more books.

ARE YOU WRITING RIGHT NOW AND IF YOU ARE WHEN WILL IT BE OUT
Yes I'm writing two books at a time, it seems to be how I roll. I'm writing book two to The Morticians Trilogy and the next book to The Butterfly House series which will conclude Cameron, Miles and Cheyenne's story

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE TIME OF DAY TO WRITE
Not really but I do like to go off alone to write. I need my own sanctuary when I write. A place without interruptions and the traffic noises of real life.

ANY WRITING RITUALS , LIKE MUSIC OR FAVORITE PLACE TO WRITE
Music breathes life to my stories and I like dragging my laptop to the library or cafe.

WHO GAVE YOU THE INSPIRATION TO START WRITING
Honestly when I read my head space goes off on its own. I love researching so maybe it's because I read a lot of books like The DSM VI manual for psychological disorder. I blame college for that. I wrote a hell of a lot of papers and colleges own the most amazing libraries.

NOW FOR SOME RAPID FIRE QUESTIONS
COFFEE OR TEA
TEA, always!

FAVORITE SNACK FOOD
Something crunchy like nuts or chips or pretzels

ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK YOU HAVE READ
Wow the hard stuff...I'd have to say I like a book that feels like you can see, feel and almost smell a story. I've loved so many books but my favorite is a set of four vampire books by Lori Herter. They are just amazing. Set in Chicago, very emotional and erotic. I love edgy erotica.
Obsession, Possession, Confession and Eternity are the titles.

ALL TIME FAVORITE AUTHOR
I am in awe of any writer (I don't like the word author, that to be means your work is now about money, sadly. A writer writes an Author publishes. It's like your baby leaving the best for the harsh reality of hit or miss)
But if I must pick on I'd say JR Ward, she lays out a book that just is huge in size but so deep a read you fall into readers space in your head. The story never stops in your mind. I buy her for pure pleasure.

FAVORITE TYPE OF MUSIC
Anything but rap, hip hop and I don't care for show tunes or much country.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL ANY ASPIRING WRITER.  ANY WORDS OF WISDOM
I'd say write for the love of writing, forget the mighty dollar and popularity because it will kill you. When you no longer write for you, you might as well punch out cookie dough on a sheet and bake cookies because that's what you will become. I write because I love words, places and crazy stuff like what it smells like to be in Ireland, what it feels like for three strangers to touch each other or what happens when someone walks by a café and sees a beautiful woman crying and suddenly has to go inside that café....writing is emotions, it's in color, it smells, it breathes and is given life by a writer not an author.

Thank you for the wonderful interview Lori . Can't wait to read more from you

good Thursday all

Good Thursday everyone. Hope everyone is doing well and having a great day today.  Well today is something totally different for me to review. I am reviewing my first book of poetry. MUSINGS OF A MODERN ROMANTIC POETIC THOUGHTS by Michael Peter Smith

BOOK BLURB
In his second book, “Musings of a Modern Romantic”, Michael Peter Smith shares his latest poetry, once again taking you into the mind of a man who is a hopelessly incurable romantic. His goal as a poet is to illicit a response or bring out feelings from within that will touch your heart and move your soul. He still believes in love, and giving you the male perspective in prose. From love and lust to heartache and pain, he shares even more depth than he did in the first book. These poems will open your eyes and show you what goes on inside the mind of a man that has been through more than his share of heartache, loss and challenges and yet still believes in the possibility of “Happily Ever After”!

MY REVIEW

This was my first book of poetry that I have read, I must say I really enjoyed the poems in this book. There are poems of heartache, loss and yes you do get a chance at HAPPILY EVER AFTER.
The author takes us on a journey with these poems as you read them you will identify with some of them . I identified with a couple of poems really struck home with me. Spit it out was one of them
You all know you have those words that you want to say but you just can't bring youself to say them until it is too late. I know I have had them.
There are poems in the book that will rip at your heart and make you want to cry as you read them . They are honest and raw. The author does a great job in conveying his feelings all of them . He has given himself in this book
So if you want to read honest poems with so much feeling this author is the author to read
You will love the raw honesty and care that the author takes . So if you love poetry and want to read some honest poetry pleas take a chance and read Michael Peter Smiths book

Today is LIVE FOR TODAY by Sandra Steiner , I know its late but life has gotten in the way as per usual in my life

BOOK BLURB

Lily looked over her shoulder and, seeing no one, began to relax. It was just her imagination. It had to be, didn’t it? She could not remember a time when she did not feel as though someone was watching her.

Sitting on the beach watching the calm water always seemed to help to ease the panic. The waves were gently lapping against the driftwood on the beach. The sound of the seagulls was soothing. The smell of the salty ocean air was comforting. So why couldn’t she just relax? Today, it did not seem to be working.

Last night the dreams had kept her awake through most of the night. If only she knew what they meant. She was so tired of them. They had plagued her for her entire life, as long as she could remember anyhow. Today was a day filled with questions, and she just wanted answers. All her life she had worked at blocking memories.
Maybe it was time for her to lay her past to rest. The idea of it terrified her, and she really wasn’t sure why. She wanted to move forward in her life; it was time.
MY REVIEW
This is the second book in the series I have read , This one is a different book for me.
Lily is suffering from nightmares and gaps in her memory, She just wants to put them all  behind her and figure out why she had been having these dreams her whole life. She sets out to find out what happened to make her have these dreams and how to cure them . But will she be strong enough to find out what has happened to her.
I adored this story. The author writes it in the third person but it doesn't deter from the story line at all. It had a warmth and a life that normally don't come through when an author writes in the 3rd person. Sandra paints a beautiful picture of quaint town of Seaside and then the big mansion where Lily spend most of her time trying to figure out her past. Where she met some great friends
The author takes us through a lot of emotions in this book, you laugh and cry and laugh some more. When things start to come apart at the end of the book and all the secrets and lies are revealed . I will admit I did shed a tear or two. With all the revelations that go on in the book trust me ladies you will be on the edge of your seat and flipping pages all night long. You will love all the characters that Lily meets along the way
The book had great flow and like I said you will laugh and cry . You will be riveted to the pages. So  can't wait till the next book in the trilogy. So ladies if you want a good read that will make you feel happy check it out

WARNING:

BEAT is an in your face MMA FIGHTER romance with strong language, hot as hell sex scenes and some violence. Totally 18+ material.

If that's not your cup of tea, then Beat might not be for you.

MY REVIEW
If you like edgy stories that have tattooed men mma fighting and more hot men. This will be the book for you. There is a love story in the pages also. Renee, Ren Miller. Is on the hunt for her father. The man who abandoned her when she was five years old. To look after her cancer ridden mother. She didn't get a chance at having a normal life. She used all energy to take care of her and she never had the chance to have a normal life. After her mother dies Ren goes on the hunt to find the man that left her. She wanted to meet him and remind him of what he did. Tracking him down and finds him training mma fighters in a gym he owns. Her father takes her in lets her stay at the gym in the stock room. Ren becomes friend with the guys working out and makes and enemy with her step sister. Things were going good she is taking classes working out all her frustration about her dad not caring and the loss of her mother. She works out hard and kicks ass with the guys
Until the day Ash walks into the gym. The cocky MMA fighter that is her dad's prized guy. She is digusted and yet intrigued with him all at the same time. As they work out and finally give in to their desires . Things explode and all hell breaks loose. Will things ever be the same after all that happens . Will they survive the out come
This is the first book I have read from Amity Cross. What a book to begin with. She takes us on a thrill ride. She takes us from the pits of hell back up again, the characters are broken but lovable. The relationship between the two main characters is a strange one but it works. They need each other and in a strange way they do love each other. There are just too many things that are going against them.
The whole cast of characters are great.
The whole aspect of the fighting ring is true to the story line but it doesn't monopolize every page. The only thing that bugged me about the book is that it ended in a big and I mean big cliff hanger. She left a big question mark about what is going to happen . So now I have to wait to pulse to see if everything works out . So if you want to read a good dark story with hot mma fighters and a twisted love story. Check it out .

well it is book hangover Friday

Woohoo the weekend is upon us. My book list is growing and it is also party weekend for the blog. So excited about that one. Today's book is the third book in the curse keepers series . THE CURSE DEFIERS by Denise Grover Swank

BOOK BLURB
For centuries the gods have waited—for the betrayal that will release them, for the traitors who will defend them, for the warrior who will challenge them. Now at long last the gate between the human and spirit worlds is open, and with it, an army of vengeful demons poised to swarm the earth. Only the Curse Keepers, Ellie Lancaster and Collin Dailey, can stop it…if they can break free from a tangled web of treachery, jealousy, and lies.
Torn between two men—her heart belongs to David, yet her soul is bound to Collin’s—Ellie no longer knows who she can trust. Demons slipping through the gate are leaving a trail of bodies in their wake, each death a chilling reminder of the power of the ancient spirits to bring humanity to its knees. Faced with an unimaginable future, Ellie realizes the time has come to turn her back on prophecy and choose her own destiny—even if it means defying the gods themselves.
In the thrilling conclusion to the Curse Keepers trilogy, humanity faces its final battle for survival!

MY REVIEW
OMG  I have been waiting patiently, ok not so patiently. Yes I have stalked Denise's author page on Facebook. When she said that she was promoting the book . It was a long long wait. I preordered and all I had to do was wait. I am so glad that I did.
This says it is the conclusion but I am so not hoping so. I have come to love Ellie Collin and the rest of the characters. Ellie is torn between Collin and the man she loves David. They both are there to love her and help her. Denise has taken Ellie from a naïve young lady to a kick ass heroine, she has grown up so much. Collin is still cocky but is coming to realize that Ellie might just be right about a lot of things. And honestly who would not love a man with a British accent as David has. The poor guy does get the shit beat out of him a few times. But he survives and so does his love for Ellie
We meet new gods and demons in this book. We meet the Raven Mockers and we hear about Kalona their god. Which come from Cherokee lore. Along with all the regular gods and demons that show up just to mess with Ellie. She is getting aggravated by them all by the way. Will they survive the showdown or will humanity be destroyed
Denise takes us on a fun filled adventure in this book. We found out so much more the curse and what really happened to Ellie and her mom so long ago. Friends end up getting  new powers to help her our and some one she loves becomes an essential member of the team.
This is a fast past read. It was one of those books I just couldn't put down once I started. I read well into the night and finished in the morning . Boy I needed tea after this book.
I am hoping and praying that there is another book, I will need another fix of Collin and Ellie soon.
So if you want a great series to read THE CURSE KEEPERS

GOOD WEDS ALL

Good day everyone, hope your hump day is going well . Today Ashleigh is reviewing MR X by Clarissa Wild

BOOK BLURB

USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR Clarissa Wild brings you Mr. X, a dark Romance thriller, which is a stand alone without cliffhanger.

*Author Note: This is not your average romance story. Some people will kill for love.*

He’s come to kill me.
I’m a user and abuser of my own body. In my darkest hour I sold my soul to the devil and now I must pay the price. With his gun to my head I have no choice but to listen and obey, but I refuse to go down easily. Nothing is stronger than the will to survive. My instincts kicked into full gear the second he stepped into my motel room.
Except when I look at him I see my own heart staring back at me. A history tainted by blood.
I don’t know his name, but I know he wants me. To save myself I’ll sacrifice my sanity. My body. My soul. Something tells me the x-shaped scar that marks his eye is the only escape I have. He is Mr. X; the man who comes to claim my life. Can I save myself before he demands my heart?

ASHLIEGH'S REVIEW

If you like dark, I mean very dark romance then pick this up and read it
right now. If bad people who do worse things are not for you then just pass
on by to the next book.

Personally I love a dark read and this ticked all my boxes and then some.

Mr X is hideous inside and out, he is ugly, vengeful and oozes hate and
horror. He is a professional killer.

He is here to kill her... Jay, his little bird. But she is going to fight
for her life with her life.

Complex characters a gripping story, hot sex and just enough love to cut
through all the violence left me hoping like crazy that this story goes on.

Mr X earned five stars from me. But I love dark twisted bad characters.
