"I read this book on holiday. It kept me on my sun bed and out of the pool."

"This an amazing read, thank you for letting us into your world, Paul Gaskill."

"A fantastic read from start to finish."

The Lavorian Rider is the first novel of Paul Gaskill's young-adult fantasy trilogy.

From living in a small village where knowledge of the King's dictatorial reign is unknown, Oracus' ordinary life is turned upside down when he forges a bond with a Lavorian and becomes its Rider. When the King's soldiers seize the village and kill his father, Oracus joins the rebellion and endeavours to exact his vengeance. With a Lavorian by his side, he becomes a vital factor in the war that will determine the land's fate.

Can Oracus survive and help to end the King's tyranny?

                            MY REVIEW
Welcome to a cool new young adult fantasy book . Let me introduce you to Oracus a young man from a small village. He is living a good life because the king doesn't know his village is even there. He has left them alone . But there is more to Oracus then even he knows . With the help of his lavorian that he has bonded with and the rebellion team . He will save his village and the land and end the kings tyranny once and for all .
This is a book full of fantasy and is such a good read . You will be sucked in to the story and will want to cheer for Oracus and his friends .  He is taken from a small village and becomes such an important part of saving the land that he loves. There is so much that has been hidden from Oracus when he finds out that he is a rider as his lavorian creature finds him . They go through some trials and tribulations as they grow to trust each other . Now throw in an evil king who is destroying everything and everyone Oracus loves . They must come together to fight the king and save the world . Oracus grows up fast and you see him come to terms with things that have turned his world upside down . Together with his friends you see them become a great team that fights the evil.
This is a very sweet fantasy story that is also a gripping coming of age story in it . I got sucked into the story in the first chapter . The author puts so much into this story , the fantasy is great and the characters are wonderful . You just want to hug them all at one point .and tell them that every thing will be ok .  The problems that Oracus goes through like finding his place in the world , are problems that most people go through at one time or another . This is a great book for those who want to get lost in a good fantasy that will sweep you off your feet and taken away to a world where good versus evil . You will cheer and cry. I will highly recommend this book for any person of any age that just wants a good read . You will be glued to the pages . Great book for the kids this summer

GOOD MONDAY MORNING ALL

Good Monday all . Today we are going to review a great new children's book BANSHEE IN THE BASEMENT (Tales of Dark Wonder book 1) by Francis Leggett

                            BOOK BLURB

When ten year old Danny finds himself alone with his vile Aunt Agnes, and his mother suddenly vanished, he begins to experience mysterious things he cannot explain. Can he and his new friend Pip figure out what is going on and escape his aunt's horrendous house or will he be stuck there forever?

                            MY REVIEW
This was a fun read and kids are really going to enjoy it . Meet Danny a ten year old little boy who has to stay with his Aunt Agnes . She is evil and cruel and poor Danny doesn't know what or why he is there .  He is all alone and starts to experience some eerie things . He knows he has to find out what is going on or he will be stuck at Aunt Agnes house forever . With his friend Pip he will uncover what is going on in the basement . Will Danny survive and will he ever see his mom again .
This book is very well written and has a goosebumps type feel to it . I really enjoyed reading . The characters are very well written and you can't help but want to pick Danny up and hug him and tell him that everything will be ok .  Also you really dislike Aunt Agnes she is just plain mean almost evil in a way .  This would be a great book to read around the campfire with a flashlight in your hands .
But enough of my babbling . I have asked someone that is closer to the age of the readers .

Lachlan age almost 7
Do you like the characters?   Yes, I like them all except Aunt Agnes.  I like Danny because he's nice.  I like Pip because she's adventurous and she was Danny's only friend.  I liked Merelda the cat because she was cute, funny, and black like my own cat Satchmo.
Was Aunt Agnes scary to you?  She was more mean than scary.  She made Danny stay in his room a lot and do way too many chores and called him names like Pest instead of Danny.
Overall did you like the book?  And is there anything you disliked about the book?  I loved the book, it was a great mystery and the end was a surprise.   The only thing I disliked was how mean Aunt Agnes was to Danny sometimes.

So if you want a great book for the kids this summer check out BANSHEE IN THE BASEMENT.
Your kids wont be disappointed and you will love the story too .

HAPPY TUESDAY ALL

Happy Tuesday all , hope you all are having a great day so far . Today  we are going to review
NUDES (A Hollywood Romance ) by Sarah Robinson

                         BOOK BLURB

Praised by #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely, as "Passionate, emotional and uplifting!", contemporary romance author Sarah Robinson brings readers a new standalone novel set in the glamorous hills of Hollywood and tackling challenging themes like the intersection of sexuality and female empowerment.

Ben Lawson is making a comeback... After a few tabloid headlines, they think they know me. They don't know a damn thing. As CEO of a movie production company, I'll show them who I really am when we hit it big at the box office. My ex thought her smear tactics would ruin me, but I'm unbreakable. Rising from the debris, I swore I'd never let a woman distract me like that again. But then, my leading actress walked on the set and changed everything.

Seductive, sexy, and unapologetic, Aria Rose could break me. I wanted to help her, protect her...love her. Instead, I destroyed her.

Aria Rose is baring it all....
I knew better. I knew not to trust another Hollywood heartthrob with a reputation like his. He was my boss and became my ruin. I should have stayed far away from him. Ben Lawson promised me the world. He even promised me his heart.

But he destroyed everything--my heart, my career, us.

Disclaimer: This novel is for 18+ years old as it contains graphic sexual content.

                          MY REVIEW

WOW this book just blew me away, don't let the cover dissuade you. This book is about so much more . There is love. lust, betrayal and redemption .  You can't help but fall in love with the main characters .   You watch them fall in love and be betrayed and then come back together . Let me introduce you to Ben and Aria and their hollywood story .
Ms Robinson has written a book with such great characters . Ben is the swoon worthy guy that all the girls will fall for but there is more to him then meets the eye . He has a past that has made him what he is today. He wants being the head of the movie company his comeback . But things change when he meet Aria . She is an up and coming star  and she is so sweet but strong. She isn't your typical actress , she has a heart and tends to follow it and it hasn't led her astray.  When these two characters meet the heat in the room rises and bang its gets hot in here . They are very good together and when they are together you actually see them relax and be themselves not the characters they protray in the world they are in .  When things go wrong you see Aria become stronger even though her heart is breaking and you see Ben do everything in his power to get to the bottom of what happened . He wants the one woman that made him happy back . You can really feel their pain and you want them back together so much .  There is one character that absolutely hated in the book just cause he is so slimy is Russ . He is the epitome of what a slimy director is like and what he will do to bring down the actress that shunned him . I really wanted to slap him across the face a few times . Tell me what you think of him .
I will applaud Sarah on handling this topic with the sensitivity she did . This is the first book i have sat down and read in a day . i couldn't put it down, the characters made me fall in love with them and the story is very prevailant in todays world .  It shows inequality between men and women and even though we have come so far there is still sexism that goes on. DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER  there is more to this book then the cover .  I know people have been judging the cover but i will say the cover does the book justice . Just take the chance and read the book and you will fall in love with Ben and Aria and there will be plenty of sex to keep you satisfied . i bet you will read this book in an evening and love every word .  This is my all time favourite book by Sarah Robinson

HAPPY WEDNESDAY ALL

Happy Wednesday all , hope you all are having a great day . Today we are going to review the sequel to Dance of the butterfly . SWORD OF THE BUTTERFLY BY Scott Carruba

                           BOOK BLURB

The tale continues in Sword of the Butterfly, book two of the series, as Lilja and Skothiam continue to fight demons within and without. The infernal forces make a grand play, hoping to stab the world in its very heart. Casualties mount as further tensions rise in the City, threatening the vigilante with a loss of freedom and life. Children become victims of a madman’s design while the hunt is on for a powerful creature wreaking havoc across parts of the U.S. Lilja begins to question herself and her place in Skothiam’s life even as the very treasure they must protect comes under danger.

                       MY REVIEW
This is the sequel to Dance of the butterfly and the author takes it up a few notches .  Lilja and Skothiam are back and are still fighting demons . The forces they are fighting against are ramping up the evil and want to take over the world . Will they survive and will they come out of it together .
The author takes his characters and puts them through the ringer . He writes complex characters that have you feeling their feeling right along with them .  The characters are kick ass and they love hard . I kind of want to Lilja when I grow up . She is strong but yet vulnerable when it comes to Skothiam .
Mr Carruba writes with such a passion , and weaves such a rich story full of intrigue . mystery and some romance . You will be sucked in from the very first page  and before you know it you are done .
I will say that you should read the first book before you hit this one . You will know more about the characters if you do . So if you want a sweeping saga and aren't afraid to sit down and read a big book that will make time stand still check out this series . I loved both books soo much .

GOOD MONDAY ALL

Good Monday all , sorry I have bee mia last week been busy reading and doing farm stuff but I am back now and today we are going to review Mike Evan's new book THE UNWELCOMED  - Psychological extreme  horror story .

                            BOOK BLURB

When hell comes knocking at The Stranger’s door, the Devil answers with a smile. The Stranger tries to find peace living alongside his father, but the beast can only be kept tame for so long, and when the woods are no longer theirs to live in uninterrupted, the unwelcomed make their way in.

                            MY REVIEW

This is the third book in the series and I was so excited to start reading . I really loved this series and was so waiting to be scared out of my socks. I settled down and started reading we find the Stranger retiring to the north woods trying to get his desires under control . His father is there to teach him but alas things don't always go as planned and the killing starts again . More gruesome this time .
You know there will be no survivors but is this the end of the stranger .
The Stranger aka Matt Hardin  is back with a vengeance . I think that he just becomes more and more evil as you read . No one is safe with him around , but you see him also trying to curb the killing instinct and living with his dad . Who is a new character this book . We hear of him in the other books in flashbacks but to have him interact with Matt as he heals and hides from the cops . They have a love / hate relationship some of the time because you know they both have that killing bug .
The poor people that end up on the deadly side of the Stranger are all friends and you just want to scream at them not to go into the woods . I sat and screamed a couple of times run you idiots run. But do they listen to me know they get stabbed and mutilated .
As much as I really loved this book and the ride that the author took us on . I just had trouble at the beginning of getting into it . I just kind of felt that the stranger basically going into hiding kind of dragged just a bit and I didn't really feel the whole father/son bonding time . I know before you all start hating me . I know it is beneficial to the story but I did find it a little on the lacking side . When the stranger started killing again , that's when it started to get really good and I was covering my eyes and screaming at my kindle most of the time .
I must say that I did enjoy this book and Mike Evans can right a mean horror story . He takes us places that you never know you are going . The Stranger is one of those characters that after you read about him . You will be looking over your shoulder for a long time . I will say that this book is not for the faint of heart if you are squeamish in any way this isn't the series for you . If you love to be scared of your feet and sleep with the lights on for about 2 weeks then check out THE UNINVITED SERIES . YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

GOOD MONDAY MORNING ALL

Good Monday morning all . I hope that this day finds you all well and fully caffeinated for the week . Today we are going to review FIRE ON THE FARM (Second chance cowboy romance) by Betty Shreffler,

                          BOOK BLURB

For Amy Flanders, Brock Baisdin may be the man to bring love back into her lonely life, if only she can overcome the wounds of her past and face her biggest fear—risking the pain of another shattered heart.
                        MY REVIEW
This book has everything I love horses and cowboys .  Let me introduce you to Amy Flanders and Brock Baisdin .   What do you do when an unbelievable tragedy happens ? You try and heal and start your own business . After Amy goes through the worst thing ever she takes comfort in the only thing she really knows and loves , horses . Rescuing horses that need a good forever home . Working with the horses start to mend her broken heart and healing her soul. Until the night Brock Baisdin walks into the bar and saves her from a date that was cancelled . There is an attraction there but they both have things that have formed them. They are destined to be together but will Amy take the chance and put her heart back on the line and get past her biggest fear . Will there be a happy ending .
This characters are very well written . Amy is such a sweet woman who has been pulled through the mud after the tragedy of loosing her husband . She pulls herself up and starts to put her life back together . There are times you kind of want to shake her through out the book because she is questioning her feeling for Brock . I kept cheering for Brock and scolding Amy for questioning things . But as you read you see her grow and become a very strong woman that overcomes the past and finds the love she deserves . Brock is a fun loving . caring guy who when he sees Amy finally thinks that its time to settle down . He does have a few ghosts in his past that he over comes . Yes ladies he is very swoon worthy . He is a sexy cowboy that can fill out a pair of wranglers quite nicely .  But to me there is another important set of characters in this book and they are . The horses that come to the ranch that help Amy as much as Amy helps them . They teach each other to trust and let go of the past .  The horses show Amy that unconditional love that will help heal . They are a very big part of the book .
This book was such a good read . I sat down to start reading and didn't realize that the tears were flowing until I was over half way through. They were a mixture of happy and sad tears . The journey that the characters take is both sad and happy, as you read their story you will be sucked in and cheer for them and honestly you will want to shake them both and tell them that they belong together . The ups and downs kept me on the edge of my seat . The sex scenes had me fanning myself and blushing . They were very well written  and girls you will love them . I like the way the author handled the two men that had Amy's heart , the man of her past , her whole world and the  man that is holding her heart now and wanting in .  So if you want a love story that will keep you reading and have you swooning check out FIRE ON THE FARM  you will not be disappointed

Love is a dangerous game for a pirate.

                      MY REVIEW

This is another winner for Lisa Kessler . Always knew pirates were sexy but holy moly Lisa's pirates are oh so sexy .  Let me introduce you to Colton and his crew. The sentinels of Savannah .

Colton is the quartermaster who has been plundering the sea for his entire mortal life . But as an immortal he has taken on the responsiblity of keeping Savannah safe . Until the day Skye walks into his life . Skye has believed in pirates since she was little  and being a pyschic like her mom and grandmother . When they meet they feel the pull of attraction to each other . They have to come together to stop a land developer from building a big hotel in the heart of Savannah . The land developer is also Colton's old captain . Will they survive what the curse entails and will they find the love they have for each other .
Omg the characters in this book are so well written . Colton is just swoon worthy , yes ladies i said swoon worthy . He is tall , broad shoulder . sexier then sin . Trust me ladies you will want to climb him . He is knows what he wants and will go after it . He turns out to be a true hero in this book . Skye is a kick butt character in her own right . She is strong and sexy . She kicks butt when she has too but you also see her hurt and scared . Also unsure of herself and her feeling for Colton . But in true Kessler fashion the fight for what they want and the enemy and come out the other side . The cast of characters are all quirky and fun especially the pirate friends of Coltons . You will get a chuckle out of everyone from Eli the ships first gunner , who loves fast cars. To One Eyed Bob the ships cook who now owns a pirate themed restaurant . He makes the best hushpuppies ever .
This book was a fast read , I started it on a raining afternoon and couldn't put it down . I love pirate books but trust me this isn't your HARRELQUIN romance pirate .  The author takes us on an adventure full of intrigue and there is romance . Lisa has taken the pirate and added so much more to him . You wil laugh and swoon at the characters . So if you like pirates check it out . You will not be disappointed .
