GOOD MONDAY TO EVERYONE

Well it is Monday again and today I have book two in the Mists of Mayhem series  . CIRCLE OF THE MOON  by H.p Mallory .

                           BOOK BLURB

Game of Thrones meets Harry Potter…
Welcome to the sexy world of magic and mayhem—of witches, vampires, fae and lycanthropes.          This episodic, monthly fantasy romance series features all the characters you know and love from the New York Times Bestselling Jolie Wilkins series.
Never heard of the Jolie Wilkins series? Don’t let that stop you. This series serves as a standalone, immediately sucking you in and refusing to let go…

Episode 2: Circle of the Moon
Sinjin Sinclair might have been estranged from his family and friends, but that doesn’t mean he stopped caring about them. Learning of a possible threat to his niece, Emma, Sinjin has his own card to play.
Meanwhile, Emma finds herself increasingly attracted to her professor, Stone, who might not be all he appears. Then there’s also charismatic Clark who seems to be vying for her attentions.
And what will it mean for Bryn when she receives a visionary dream where she learns her sister, Jolie, long suspected to be dead, might actually be alive and lost in a place called the Abyss?
Find out what happens in the second episode of the Mists of Magic and Mayhem Series!

                          MY REVIEW
Bryn has a vision of her sister and Sinjin is keeping tabs on Emma and the family .  When Bryn heads out to talk to an old friend about the dream of Jolie being alive . Sinjin knows and devises a plan to go and help her out. While Emma is finding herself more and more attracted to her professor Stone Draper .  Then there is Rand and the hurt he is going through .  There is a lot going on and man its good . Will everyone survive and come out with their hearts intact.

In book two we get to find out more about some of the characters . There is more to Stone then we first thought . He is hiding a big secret , which of course I am not going to tell you buts Its good really good . Bryn well she is determined as ever to find her sister . She is feistier then ever and really determined .  Emma is well she is confused and fighting her feelings big time .  I love her so much she seems like a typical teen trying to get through school and she is wearing the weight of the world on her shoulders .  These characters are so well written and getting more and more complex .

In book two we find out more about some of the characters that we love already after book one .  The author takes us on a journey that has us heading to the fae realm and beyond . I can't wait to see where the author takes these characters . I love how we can read these books as a stand alone series . You don't need to read the Jolie series but it is a good idea. This series is becoming one of my favourite series by the author . She can weave a tale using magic and romance to fuel the story. I will warn you there is a big cliff hanger but you don't have to wait long to get the next book . So if you want a fun series to read at the beach check it out , you will not be disappointed at all .

WOOHOO ITS FRIDAY

Well we made to Friday and its going to be a great weekend. Today we have a new author and new book . WHEN IN LUCK by Colleen Nye .

                           BOOK BLURB

What if your celebrity crush was attainable?---------------------------------------------------You know that old saying: When in Rome? When you’re in a place, an environment different than you’re used to, you’re excused from how you’d normally act and are allowed to—heck, are obliged to—indulge? Try telling my best friend, Alice, that. When I had to back out of our girl’s trip to Maui, Alice not only got to meet her celebrity crush, but he actually asked her out on a date! One she tried to cancel. She won’t get out of it so easily when I step in. One thing is for sure, we never thought we’d ever meet our celebrity crushes. And at our age and with kids? We certainly never thought they’d pursue us! But here we go… awkward moments, blinding spotlights and all.

                       MY REVIEW
When Alice goes on vacation in Maui without her best friend Vivianne who is at home with her kids and her crappy husband .  When Alice meets her celebrity crush she is flustered . Vivianne comes to the rescue with hilarious results . Vivianne steps in and when they have so much fun with the men that waltzed into their lives . Will they be able to have fun and keep their crushes or will real life bring them down again .

Vivianne and Alice are such fun characters to read . Vivianne is such joy and full of life even though she is tied to a man that doesn't love her anymore . She wants to live but she doesn't know how . She is the comic relief to Alice who may be feisty but she is also very sad .  They are fun to read and you will be giggling through out the book . They are well written and you will love them .

This book is a book that you can sit by the pool and read . The author takes us on a fun filled ride  that will have you giggling . It has your fantasy of finding and falling for your celebrity crush and him falling in love with you . There are some fun times through out the book and the author did something different and its from just one of the characters point of view . So we see everything from Vivianne's point of view. Sometimes I felt the book was a little too wordy and it took away from the story . Also it dragged in some parts i felt it could of been thinned out just a bit . Over all I enjoyed this book and want to see if they really do end up all together in the end of the series . So check it out

                            BOOK BLURB

The last thing Andi needs is a cocky FBI agent…
Bad boy FBI agent Cole Lucas always gets his man. So when the unthinkable happens and one gets away, Cole grits his teeth and hunts the human trafficker all the way to Antioch, Texas, where he collides with Detective Andi MacLaren.
Cole doesn’t do small towns and he doesn’t get involved with women he works with, but Andi tempts him in ways he doesn’t want to acknowledge.
Two murders, her partner shot and leading the investigation on her own, the last thing Andi needs is a cocky FBI agent that sees her as no more than a tagalong.
As a widow and single mother, she’s used to being on her own. When Cole gets stuck without a place to stay, crashing on her couch puts them in dangerous territory.
Attraction and passion bring Andi to a place she left behind when her husband died.
Her three-year-old son quickly wiggles his way into Cole’s heart, and he starts contemplating things—family, love—that he’d never planned for himself.
Can being forced to work together make them stronger or will their differences jeopardize their case and their hearts?

                         MY REVIEW
What happens when a small town deputy is paired with a cocky FBI agent . Well sparks do fly . When Cole Lucas has a criminal evade him, he is out to find him . Which takes him to Anitoch Texas where he has to work Andi Maclaren, a small town deputy who is working on her own case . Will the sparks fly or will their differences push them apart .

Wow is what I say about the characters in this story . Cole well he is cocky and sexy . He is one hundred percent a man's man . There is something under Cole's gruff exterior a  sweetness that Andi pulls out of him . Andi is sweet but tough as nails she is good at her job but not so good at feelings . She has been a widow and a single mom for so long . She doesn't know what to do when Cole comes and stays on her couch . You can feel the sparks fly with these two .

This is the first book I have read from this author and I am going to continue reading the series . The author us on an adrenaline fueled roller coaster ride . The characters are well written and complex you will love them and want to slap them upside the head through out the book .  I love strong female character and this book has one Andi is that character . The only down side to this book that it seemed to drag a little in the middle of the book . I felt like it seemed just to be a little slow . Over all i really enjoyed this book and going to dive right into book two . So if you like a good romantic suspense and this book to your summer reading list .

ITS WEDNESDAY ALL

Good morning all , I survived the storm that blew through last night , there were moments though I thought I was going to get blown over the rainbow. It was a great night to read , I have the second book in the New World of Magic . THE MARCH EFFECT  by Kim Alexander

                              BOOK BLURB

A unicorn walks into a bar…and leaves with my heart.
He’s gone, and now I have a unicorn-named-March-shaped hole in my life. But, I get it. Unicorns aren't meant to live in a world where they have to deal with putting gas in the car, getting groceries, and paying cell phone bills.
I'm trying to get past this. Really, I am. It's just that everyone constantly talks about him, from his immortal ex-girlfriend, to reality TV-obsessed Fae, to even my own fully-human friends. Even his enemies are still obsessed with him. I learned that the hard way. Did I mention the part where I end up on the run—again—from an old, powerful enemy of his? Yeah. Fun times.
I just want to be left to get over my broken heart while watching home improvement shows and eating ice cream. But mysterious disappearances, murder, and a quest for affordable real estate in Washington D.C. keep getting in the way.
Maybe that's just life. Sometimes we get what we want. Sometimes, we get what we need. And sometimes, we get what we deserve. I guess you could call it…The March Effect.

                       MY REVIEW
Ruby is trying to heal her broken heart after March left . She couldn't blame him , unicorns don't really belong in this world . She knew he had to go but she just wishes her friends would just stop talking about him. She just can't get away from everyone's chatter and then the poor girl ends up on the run yet again . All she wants is to be left alone to eat ice cream and heal her heart . But alas she has to find out about the disappearances and murders and try and figure out her feelings . Will she find what she needs and will she survive to get her life back.

Ruby and the gang are back and getting better with each book . Poor Ruby really needs a break this poor girl has been through it all. She is still sassy and trying to get on with her life . There are characters that you want to slap and hug . Marly is sweet but you really want to help her become whole again. You will want hug and slap a few of the many characters up side the head . They are well written and getting more and more complex

In book two we find out what the effects were after March left this world . The author has put the main character through the ringer and is ripping out her heart as she goes . There are moments where you are on the edge of your seat and other moments you are wanting to wrap up the characters in a warm blanket . The author has a way of telling a story that will have you turning pages . The only thing I wish is the author would give the main character a bit of a break . The poor girl has been through so much ,she needs a vacation . There was a few times i felt the story was just dragging a little and I did kind of felt a little underwhelmed . Over all I enjoyed this book and really want to know if Ruby will ever get her happily ever after . This is a book that you can add to your summer reading list .

GOOD TUESDAY ALL

Well it is only Tuesday and I feel like this is the longest week so far this year . Today I have a new book and author for you to take a look at . RATTLE HIS CAGE  by Jane Charles

                            BOOK BLURB

Twelve years Dylan White has waited.
Twelve years since his family was yanked away
Twelve years of being alone—except for the friends he met at Baxter, who are now his family.
His brother, Noah, has disappeared. His sister, Nina, just turned eighteen, but he has no way to find her.

Mary Robins wears her heart on her sleeve. And it’s tattooed on her chest—the dog tags of the man she worshiped, surrounded by beautiful ribbons.
Her only purpose in life is to take care of those who are in need. Heal the broken and comfort that wounded—the very reason she’s becoming a nurse.  Except, she’s never allowed anyone to take care of her. Not in a very long time.  No one has wanted to take care of her until she meets Dylan and the Baxter boys. They’re a weird bunch – fiercely loyal and… hers.

Dylan is searching for something, and so is Mary. Searching for family, searching for friendships, and searching for love. Can they find what they so desperately need in each other?

                      MY REVIEW
Dylan is hunting for his family , his younger sister and brother . Its been twelve years of waiting and wondering where they are .  Mary wears her heart on her sleeve and loves to work with  people , her nursing career is good and she is wearing her heart on her sleeve . She has been taking care of herself for as long as she can remember until Dylan walks into the picture . They are both searching for what they need can they find it together .

The characters are well written . Dylan is fiercely loyal guy who is hurting big time from the loss of his family . He wants to get them back and will do what it takes to get them back . He is strong and kind but has a sadness in him . Mary is sweet , sassy but there is also a sadness in her that will want you to hug her tight . They are well written and when together you can feel the sparks fly a little .

This book will give you all the feels , the author takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride .   You will really like the characters and want to hug them and wrap a blanket around them and tell them that everything will be ok . Over all I really enjoyed this story but I felt like there were parts of the book that were a bit confusing for me cause there was so much going on with the characters also there were parts of the books that I felt kind of dragged a bit . Over all I really did enjoy this book and can't wait to read other books in the series . This would be a great book for your summer reading

ITS MONDAY

Well its Monday again and its time for some unicorn love . Today I have a new author and her novella PURE  by Kim Alexander

                            BOOK BLURB

  ‘A unicorn walks into a bar….’
That is not a joke.
Look, I’m a bartender, I have nothing to do with the xenos. I don’t care if it’s an elf or a vampire--as long as they don’t bother me, I steer clear. I have my reasons--you can see them in the scars on my neck.

I never wanted to get involved. But my life changed for the second time when I saved the life of a unicorn. I made an enemy of something old--old and evil, and whatever it was, it’ll be back for another try. I also made a friend when I decided to help March. He’s only been a human man for a day. I’m responsible for him now. He’s my friend…and maybe something more. Maybe a lot more.

It doesn’t matter to me that he isn’t magical anymore. I don’t care if he’s not PURE.

                      MY REVIEW
Welcome to Ruby's life , a bartender and someone who just wants to stay clear of all things paranormal . Until the night she sees a unicorn in trouble and she saves his life and stirs up trouble with something ancient and evil . March has only been a man for a day but what a day it has been . He is Ruby's responsibility and she could want more . He doesn't have his magic but hey he can be so much more .

Well who knew that the characters in a short novella could be so interesting. Ruby is well she is a character that has some rough edges but deep down she is a sweet woman that only wants to have a good life . She is really snarky sometimes and it is such fun to read . She doesn't have any super natural powers all she has is her wits , some garlic pepper spray March is an unicorn shifter and suppose to stay pure . He is so innocent and such a sweet man . They are a fun couple to read and you will like them

This is a short book that you will have done in an afternoon . The author has us rolling on the floor with the antics of the two main characters . The story is new to me haven't read anything about unicorn shifters  and this was a fun way to start .  There was one thing that i felt , yes I know its a novella but I felt like the characters could of been a little bit more flushed out .  I just felt it kind of fell flat in a couple of spots . Over all i did enjoy the book and will continue to read this author. If you want a book that you can read poolside check it out .

HAPPY SUNDAY ALL

Good Sunday all its a balmy 80 degrees out side a good day to read by the pool . Today I have the second book in the Kate Gardener mysteries . DE PROFUNDIS .

                            BOOK BLURB

As faithful parishioners gather for Vespers on All Saints Day, a beloved priest is bludgeoned to death in the church sacristy…
Though he is no stranger to controversy, the priest’s death sends shockwaves through the community. Allegations from the past come to light when a young seminarian, the victim of sexual abuse, is found hiding on the church property, his clothing covered with blood.
Forensic photographer Kate Gardener has her doubts about the young man’s guilt, and her hunches are seldom wrong. The twists and turns of this complicated and controversial case throw Kate into the path of the members of a notorious dining club…. and a very handsome young architect. Romantic entanglements must take a backseat to the case, however, as the investigation intensifies and the inquest into the death of Neville Crane looms.
Together with Detective Sergeant Richard Pierce, Jimi Khan, and the rest of the team, Kate must overcome her fears and face the ghosts of her past in the race to piece the clues together and catch a brutal murderer before he strikes again.

                       MY REVIEW
When a priest is bludgeoned to death in the church sacristy with a full congregation for Vespers. on all Saints Day. Kate Gardener and the gang are there to start the investigation .. When she finds a young man hiding in the cemetery .  Where old accusations of abuse come to life . Will they be able to figure out what happened .

In book 2 the characters are getting more and complex . Kate is much more involved in this book . We see her fighting hard to find out who killed the priest . She is stronger and much more complex . The rest of the squad is back and they are all more and more complex . We get to see some romance between Rick and Kate . They are well written and you will love them .

This is the second book in the series and it actually takes on the church and some past sins that have gone on in the church . The author handles it with care and takes us on an emotional journey that will have you on the edge of your seat . There is a love triangle in this one which i think over shadows the mystery , it feels a little forced in sometimes like the author didn't know where to take the characters so lets put them in a love triangle . Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed the book and can't wait to read book three . So if you want a book for the beach this is the one for you

When two lives collide, they find more that they were looking for.
They find, Forever.

                        MY REVIEW
Harper Collings has had it bad her parents are supper religious and she wants to break free.  Cole has been living a secret life that has him starting to crumble around him . When they get sent to Sunset Estates, where they find out what is the best for them and within that find themselves and love ,

This is a story where the characters are flawed but so well written .  Harper is a young woman who is trying to break away from her parents that are over controlling and just want to keep her locked away . She comes off as a b with an itch but underneath she is a sweet , caring girl . Who just wants to have a love that will protect her and cherish her . She starts out naive but trying to put on a tough exterior . We do get to see her grow as a person as we see her through out the book . Cole seems to have it all football star and has a great friends . He is damaged though he is hiding a secret that might stop him from his future.  They are train wrecks but when they get together they seem to make each other better and help heal each other

This is a book where you have to sit down and get comfy to read .This is more then a teen romance book . There is a deeper meaning behind the book . The author takes us on a very emotional journey . There is alcohol dependency , abuse and so much more that is going on , The way the author has these two characters come together is sweet.  They really help each other out . This is a book that will have you getting all the feels . You will laugh and cry and cheer for them .  There were moments in the book that in my opinion that kind of dragged just a little and felt a little slow but over all I truly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read book two . So if you want a book that will give you all the feels check it out.

WOOHOO WE MADE IT

WOOOHOO  we made it Friday . Today I have another book in the Magic and Mayhem universe . GHOUL ME ONCE  by R.L Merrill ,

                           BOOK BLURB

The Magic and Mayhem continue as Garrett and Layla, along with their allies from Assjacket, return to the Bayou in a new Shifted adventure...

Clarabelle Cocodri has a lot on her plate as guardian of her teenaged gator Shifter brother. When her favorite cousin—and new alpha—returns to Terrebonne Parish,  she's not too sure it's for the best. He's mated to a witch, and the congregation has been done dirty by magic users. But when she finds a gorgeous stranger in her garden shed with a magical malady, she knows she'll need Garrett's help.
Johann Bastien is a lonely, down-on-his-luck musician in the French Quarter looking for a change in his life and a break from his bullying bandmates. He gets more than he bargained for when he's compelled to take a walk into the darkness and wakes up in the St. Louis No. 1 Cemetery a new—but definitely not better—man. He flees to the Bayou and finds solace in a quiet garden shed until he can figure out what he'll do next...that is until the most beautiful woman he's ever seen opens the door.
Garrett Cocodri and Layla Du Mer are fated mates who just want the opportunity to strengthen their bond. But Garrett's father left a mess for them and everyone and their gator needs their help. When an injured Shifter is found with a strange bite, and Garrett's childhood best friend shows up unexpectedly, Garrett is forced to put his bonding on hold to face challenges he never saw coming.
Can Johann be saved from his debilitating condition? Can Clarabelle learn to trust her cousin and overcome her fear of witches? Will Garrett and Layla become the leaders Terrebonne Parish not only wants but needs? These witches and Shifters will have to work together and try to ignore their hopped-up hormones in order to rebuild their struggling congregation and survive a powerful foe who threatens them all.
                            MY REVIEW
Welcome back to the bayou where Garrett and Layla are trying to fix the mess his father left their congregation in .  His cousin Clarabelle has her hands full trying to raise her teenage brother who is also and alligator shifter. She doesn't really trust the new alpha and is wary of Layla cause she is a witch . Johann well he is a down on his luck musician and just wants a change for the better . Its just one big family that will have to figure out how to get along and trust each other .

Welcome back to some wonderful characters . Garret and Layla are back and better then ever . Garrett is learning how to be alpha and he is still as sweet as ever . He is not to be reckoned with though if you hurt one of his .  Layla is really coming into her own and she is such a strong woman you get to see her in action through out the book . Clarabelle well she is shy , tired and scared of what could come . We see her grow through out the story  and when we see her with Johann you can see the sparks fly.  Johann well you just want to wrap your arms around this poor man and hug him tight . He has gone through  so much in his life .  He is a sweet guy that has been through so much and we get to see him come out of his shell and actually trust some one even when he finds out what happened to him . They are all such good characters and are so well written and growing more and more complex with each story ,

This story is one that you can read in an evening . The author has a great way of weaving a tale that will give you all the feels . The characters continue to grow and become more complex . Just like the first book where we meet everyone , the author doesn't pull punches . She sets them up to be the best that they can be .  The story is a fun fast read and can be read as a stand alone but if you really want to get to know everyone you can always read the first book by the author .  So here is another great book for the beach or the pool check it out

GOOD THURSDAY ALL

Wow it is the second of July and wee are finally able to move around a bit more but if you are like me you are still at home and staying safe . I a new author to me and her mystery book . THE MEMORY OF TREES  by Gabriella Messina

                            BOOK BLURB

On a crisp September morning, a jogger stumbles upon an horrific scene in a London park...
When forensic photographer Kate Gardener steps in for her injured supervisor, the brash American ex-pat finds herself at the scene of a truly brutal murder. The naked, castrated body of a young pharmacist has been found at the edge of Regent's Park.
Gifted with acute sensitivity and a "photographic" memory, Kate is uniquely suited to capturing the details of crime scenes and seeing what others do not see. Something about this crime scene haunts her, though, and her frustration grows as the investigation proceeds.
After the victim is linked to the sensational decade-old murder of a young woman, and a second equally-brutal crime scene is discovered, Kate has to agree with New Scotland Yard's Murder Squad detectives that there is a definite link between the cases. Then crime scene photos go missing -- and a coworker's strange behavior takes center stage -- and Kate begins to fear that the murderer may be close to the case... and about to strike again.
Kate's instincts for solving crimes have always been spot-on... but finding the truth this time may be more dangerous than she could ever have imagined.

                        MY REVIEW
Welcome to the New Scotland Yard , where a young crime scene photographer Kate Gardener has come to work . She is the perfect person to work crime scene . She is smart and had a photographic memory. When crime scene photos go missing and men end up dead . She thinks the murderer is closer then she thinks . Will she be able to find out who has killed these men and why they are linked to a past murder of a young woman.

The characters in this book are very well written . I really like Kate, she is smart and sassy. She is perfect for the job because of her photographic memory . She is such a fun character to read . There are so many characters to mention in this book . The guys from the murder squad are a varied bunch . Detective Paul Owens is the lead in the case and he is a no nonsense guy that will get the job done . He works well with Kate and yes there are a few sparks every now and then between them. The detectives and the medical staff make Kate feel like she fits in .

I love a good mystery and this one was good . I will say that I had a bit of trouble at the start and getting into the book but by chapter 3 I was hooked . The author takes us on a journey that has you on the edge of your seat most of the time. The characters are well developed and you can't help but like them . The mystery is one that you try and try to figure out but you really don't until the last chapters . This is a good book to read on a rainy day , or a day at the beach .   Check it out if you love strong characters and a great mystery .

                            BOOK BLURB

Death stalks the dreams of the residents of Harbor City, and bodies are piling up.
Laci Valentine is done. Done with magic. Done with the Cauldron Coven. Done with the people around her dying. She is through being a witch. Then, Nazareth Xavier appears with a message from Hekate, Goddess of the Underworld.
The Cauldron Coven is shattered. Two members are dead, two have walked away, and three are heartbroken over everything that happened over the last month. Tansy Paxton fears it's the end of her small coven when a young witch, Sherri Rockford, enters The Murky Cauldron. Hope fills Tansy until things begin to feel a little too familiar. Has another demon entered the Land Above? Or is Sherri just a witch on the wrong path?

                      MY REVIEW
When Death starts stalking the dreams of a small town of Harbor City m the bodies are piling up . Laci is done with everything , magic, her coven and the people she know dying ,  When Nazareth Xavier comes into the picture with a message from the Goddess of the underworld Hekate .   While Tansy is shattered because her coven has fallen apart when a stranger walks into her life . Will things ever be the same again,

This series is a spin off from the Warrior of the Way series , The characters are well written and complex . Laci is a sweet woman but she is so tired of the bad that is happening in her life . Tired of the death and magic . She is more then she seems to be and Nazareth comes and gives her destiny . Tansy is a strong girl but she is also fragile in a way .  She grows as you read the story . There are so many diverse characters that will have you reading through out the night .

This is one of those books that will have you sucked in and on the edge of your seat most of the way through . The author has a way of making you really care for the characters and get invested in their problems . You will cheer for them and cry with them when they hurt. There are also moments where you want to wrap them up in a warm blanket and keep them safe . There were moments in the book where you will really want to shake the author and yell at him to stop putting the main characters through all the pain. Give them some happiness man they deserve it .  I will admit though when I started this book I was confused in the first three chapters but once I hit chapter four it all started to come together . Over all i really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next installment . Grab this book for the beach reading .

HELLO TUESDAY

Good Tuesday all , hope you are all having a good week with not too humid and hot weather around you . Today I have a fun book from The Magic and Mayhem Universe . SHIFTED by R.L MERRILL .
                            BOOK BLURB

Maggie and Louis, Intervention Specialists from the Afterlife, are used to the unusual—or so they think—but a 500lbs alligator on the run, a mute witch with wonky magic, and a vulgar, talking cat are more than they bargained for. Welcome to Assjacket, West Virginia.

                       MY REVIEW
Louis and Maggie are out to help again , they are use to the unusual that goes on in the after life but when they are hauling a 500lb gator to Assjacket West Virginia . They are in for more then they bargained for when they meet up with a mute witch and a vulgar cat who is interested in his own pleasure then helping people . Will they be able to help and will the family in Assjacket accept what is coming .

Louis and Maggie are back and as much fun to read as the first time you read them . We also get to meet the Zelda and the gang . Garrett and Layla are our star crossed mates in this story . Garrett well the poor guy has been cursed and now he is an alligator stuck in alligator form . He is strong and but he has such a sad past , Layla has just about as sad past , she is sweet and wants to help but she doesn't really know who she is and her magic is all wonky because of it. When they get together they really get each other and know that they belong together . They are such a cute couple when they are together .

This is such a fun read , I was so excited to see this as part of the magic and mayhem universe. I will say the author did a great job incorporating her characters with the characters of the universe . They are well written and so enjoyable to read . The author takes us on a fun filled ride that will have you laughing and sighing all the way through the book . This is a stand alone book and it will be a great read for this summer at the beach or by the pool . So check it out

HAPPY MONDAY

Good morning everyone , its Monday and a dreary Monday it is here . Today I have a fun novel for you . MINDED ( A Haunted story ) by R.L Merrill

                            BOOK BLURB

When landing in Purgatory, no matter the cause of death, a soul must experience an awakening, establish awareness, and ultimately, achieve acceptance of inevitable circumstances.
For Maggie Stone, none of these options were ideal. She was a woman in control of her own destiny, not a pawn in some afterlife game! But in order to “move on,” she’ll have to accept help from an unlikely source dressed in black denim and pissed off at the world. Will she be able to complete her task, work her magic, and mind her kin still struggling with her death?
Louis Sheffield has spent an eternity in Purgatory for reasons beyond his control. When he’s given an opportunity to earn his ticket out of his holding cell, he’s irritated to learn he’ll have to hold the hand of a pretentious, know-it-all, party girl whose every action grates on his last nerve. But Maggie is not all she seems, and once he’s exposed to her world, suddenly he’s tempted to finally accept his destiny and embrace hope.
These two lost souls must work together against the clock to complete their seemingly impossible task. When their charges refuse to cooperate, Maggie and Louis must resort to unorthodox methods to create harmony from bitter chaos. In the end, it all comes down to choices and consequences they never imagined possible.

                        MY REVIEW
When Maggie Stone finds herself in purgatory she is finding it hard to come to terms with what happened . She has to have an awakening to come to terms with her past and figure out where she is suppose to go. When Louis Sheffield comes into her dead life . He is not her favourite person and she isn't his . He so doesn't want to be holding her hand through out the process. He doesn't want to be around this party girl . She just gets on his last nerve but as they work through feelings change and hope bubbles to the top . Will they be able to work together and find what each is looking for .

This is a book where you can sit down and get lost in the characters . Maggie and Louis are so well written and they have a complexity to them . Maggie was a band manager and in charge . She was strong and fun to be around and also kind of a mother hen to the guys in the band . We really find out what people thought of her as she is going through here awakening . She realizes that she is more to these people . She is the glue that held some of them together . Louis is the type of man who has the weight of the world on his shoulders. He is sad and lonely . There are moments when you want to  hug him and tell him everything is going to be ok .  The cast of characters that Maggie and Louis help out are varied and in so need of help .

HAPPY SUNDAY ALL

Good Sunday all , today I have the 4th book in Happily never after series . ROSE  by Plum Pascal/ H.p Mallory

                            BOOK BLURB

A love that has haunted her for years…
When Princess Carmine, aka Rose Red, learns her longtime protector, Huntsman Draven, has been taken prisoner by her evil Uncle, she’s understandably upset. Not to mention the fact that Carmine has loved Draven for as long as she can remember…
Promised to marry another, Carmine tries to escape a loveless marriage and, in the process, finds herself in a precarious situation when her would-be husband decides to take matters into his own hands.
Enter Sabre and Titus, both Huntsmen and the brothers of Draven. Sabre and Titus free Draven and rescue Carmine, taking her on the adventure of a lifetime.
While in their company, Carmine struggles to understand her blossoming feelings for all three huntsman brothers, but will they be willing to share her, as she hopes?

                         MY REVIEW
When Princess Carmine finds out her guardian and the man she loves is taken hostage by her evil Uncle . She is promised to a man but that marriage is loveless and there are ulterior motives . When Titus and Sabre , Draven's brothers come and save them from their clutches . They save them both and they go on the adventure of their life time .

This is Rose Red's book and book 4 in the series . I think this is the funniest book out of them all . Carmine is such a fun character she is sweet but there is a sadness and a longing to her . She really comes alive when she is with the men that she wants . She can also kick some butt when she has too . Draven , Titus and Sabre are bird shifters and they are deadly huntsmen to boot . They each are very distinct and have a set of skills  I love them and you don't read a lot on bird shifters .

This is the 4th book in the series and I think I liked this one the author is really taking the stories and twists them more and more with each book . I love that there are bird shifters in this one , you really never get to see them very often . The characters are well written and with each book we get to see a complexity that grows .  The story is fresh and has some great twists and turns that will keep you reading . There is intrigue and romance and some sexy scenes that will have you blushing .  This is a great book for the summer sitting by the pool or at the beach . I strongly suggest that you read the other books in the series first so you know what is going on .

GOOD SATURDAY ALL

Good Saturday all , today I have a new author for you and she has written a mermaid book . ISLA EMERGED  by Deidre Sequeira

                            BOOK BLURB

 Anger. Betrayal. Exile.
Isla always knew she would be queen. One day. But after the death of her mother, matriarch of the Southern Pacific merfolk kingdom, that day grew much closer than she was prepared for. Worse, to become a mermaid queen, she must marry. It is the only way to protect her kingdom.
Forcibly betrothed to her childhood friend and father’s fiercest warrior, Isla is desperate for an escape—no matter the cost. But until she marries, her father is filled with a power his body cannot handle, and his control is steadily slipping.
After an explosive fight with her father, Isla flees to the surface, only to find herself in the middle of a violent storm with two choices: swim to safety or save the human man she sees drowning in the tumultuous waves.
Her decision will change her life, as well as her kingdom, forever.

                      MY REVIEW
Isla always knew that she would be queen but when her mother dies that day comes closer and closer . With an arranged marriage to her childhood friend who really doesn't want to marry her but will out of duty . Isla is desperate to escape the clutches of her father. She heads to the surface where she saves a drowning man but that man is not as good as everyone thinks . This changes her life and the lives of her friends forever .

This story is based on the little mermaid story but there are things that are totally different . The main characters are well written . Isla at first comes of kind of like a spoiled brat . She is just is doing everything in her power to prove her point to her dad . As we see her through out the book we really get to see her grow and become a strong woman doing what needs to be done to help her friends and save them .  Allister is the young man who is fierce and will do what needs to be done even marry the princess even though he is in love with Isla's best friend .  There are so many diverse characters that keep Isla busy  fighting for her kingdom.

This story is a good twist on the little mermaid story, the characters are well written and you tend to get sucked into them and like them . The author has a way of writing that can suck you in and then keep you on the edge of your seat for most of the story. The only thing that kind of had me stop it just seemed a little bit slow at the beginning and I didn't connect with Isla but as i was reading more into the story I got into the characters and really started to care for Isla and the rest of them . Overall I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read book 2 . This would be a great book to read by the pool or at the beach . So check it out

WELCOME TO HOT FRIDAY

Good morning my lovelies , its going to be a scorcher here today on the ranch . A great day to have a good book and a tall glass of iced tea and settle down and read . Todays book is by Matthew Cox and his series EVERGREEN .

                        BOOK BLURB

Harper Cody used to worry about the SATs or a getting a new laptop for Christmas… but now, she only wants to keep her little sister alive.
At 5:59 a.m. early in September, life as she knew it came to an end with a nuclear flash ninety miles away in Colorado Springs. For two months, her family sheltered in the basement of their home, surviving on whatever canned goods Dad could scavenge. Passing evacuees told of a safe haven in the mountains, but her father refused to leave. He thought their home was safe… until a gang of looters kicked in the door.
Four years ago at thirteen, Harper won trophies for competition shooting, but killing a man pointing a gun at her is nothing like nailing targets at a range. Hesitation cost her parents’ lives. With no other options, she grabbed her little sister and ran away from the only home she’d ever known into a world she no longer recognized.
The promise of safety in Evergreen gives her hope, but unless the girl voted sweetest in her class can find the nerve to kill, Harper—and her kid sister—are as good as dead.

                      MY REVIEW
At one time poor Harper just wanted to get good grades and get a laptop for Christmas until the day the world ended and her parents are dead .  After a nuclear flash has ended the world and being in the basement of their house with their parents . They now must leave and find the safe haven of Evergreen . With her fathers shotgun and her little sister they are off, they have to travel miles and miles to get to safe haven . She has to realize that she isn't the little girl anymore and she will have to man up and maybe kill someone who is harming them if they want to stay alive .

Harper and Maddie are the main characters and they are well written and complex. Harper is a seventeen year old who just wants a laptop for Christmas and her parents back . She is tough but also sweet . She can be tough when she has to be but all she wants to get her and Maddie to safety.  She is just a kid though with the weight of the world on her shoulders . Maddie well she is basically in shock through out the book . Her cell phone is her life line even though it doesn't work. She is basically a walking zombie and I guess you can say she is shell shocked . We do see a sweet girl underneath it all and she does become more animated when they finally meet the other members of their rag tag band . All of the characters are well written and you will fall in love with them .

This story is one of what would happen after a nuclear attack . What would you do and how would you survive. The author takes us on an emotional rollercoaster ride that will have you reeling and on the edge of your seat . You really start to feel for the characters and you really want to see them succeed in their journey . There are moments you just want to wrap Maddie and Harper up in a warm blanket and tell them that everything will be ok and then the other moments you want to smack them both and say wake up. There are a few spots where the book just kind of dragged but over all it is an enjoyable . This would be an epic series that would be a great summer read . This would be a great book for any fan of apocalyptic stories . Check it out

HAPPY RELEASE WEEK TO LISA KESSLER

Good Tuesday all hope your day is going good so far. Today I have the newest book in the  Sentinels of Savannah series by Lisa Kessler , PIRATE'S PERSUASION

                           BOOK BLURB

Immortal pirate Drake Cole has a reputation in Savannah for his custom woodworking and historical restorations, but his work has grown into an obsession. He's become a stranger to his crew since the Sea Dog sank in 1795. None of them know his painful secret. A young stowaway went down with the ship, one that Drake swore a blood oath to protect.
The ghost of a young boy, lost at sea over two hundred years ago, leads local medium, Heather Storrey right to Drake’s door. He saved her life before, and now she has a chance to return the favor, but how can she protect him from a curse that no one can see?
A dark coven possesses the figurehead from the Flying Dutchman, and if Heather and the immortal Sea Dog crew don't locate the relic soon, Drake may be lost to them forever. Heather has seen the passionate man behind the veil of guilt, and she's determined to free him from his self-imposed prison, and persuade this pirate to love again.

                        MY REVIEW
Welcome back to Savannah and the men of the Sea Dog.   This is Drake's story , He has become a great wood worker in Savannah but it has become an obsession to him . He has back away from the crew and best friends . His dark secret too painful to tell anyone. Until the day the ghost of a young boy brings a beauty to his door . Heather Storrey a local medium , was saved by Drake once before now maybe she can return the favor and save his life from the curse that has been hounding him .  She and the Sea Dog crew are on a search for a relic that a dark coven has taken from Davey Jones locker . They are up against it , they need to find out what is going on before they loose Drake forever  Will they come out with their love intact or will the curse take them down .

This being the fourth book in the series you will know most of the characters . Drake is the strong silent type . He is a man haunted by the tragedies of his past and is closed off . There are moments in the book where you want to hug him and tell him things will be ok but the other 45 percent of the time you just want to smack him upside the head cause he is just being a stubborn fool. Heather is special , a medium and also a reincarnated soul. She is sweet and boy she is stubborn . She will do anything for the people she loves and will love with all her heart .  Like all her characters these two are so well written and complex you want them to have their happily ever after . The crew of the Sea Dog are back and they are all as feisty as ever,

This is the fourth book in the series and the the author doesn't let up on the action and the romance . Her characters are well written and complex and you will love them or actually hate them through out the book . I love the way the author can weave the tales of each couple but also keeps weaving the over all tale of the Sea Dog in each story .  This is a series that you can read over the summer at the beach or by the pool. So if you want a pirate of your own check it out , you will not be disappointed .
