   Good morning my peeps . I hope you all are having a great summer so far and surviving the heat . It has gotten so hot on the farm my house has turned into a meat locker. Which gives me a great excuse to snuggle under a blanket and get caught up on some great summer reads. Today I have for you book 3 in the  Daughter of the Moon series . THE STAR  by Hp Mallory.

Regardless, I’ve got a new tarot card mission (The Star) I need to conquer so I can find out what new power I’ve earned which hopefully will help me in the battle between light and dark…

                     MY REVIEW 

 Welcome back to Vermont . Kate is finally starting to get the hang of everything that is going on in her life and what it means to be a daughter of the moon. There are a few things that she still hasn't like why her mother is living down the street and worse yet she is living in a nudist colony and what is with the secret room and the man hanging in a cage in the secret room. Kate finds out that her mom has her own set of powers that may or may not help her with her fight between the light and the dark. So between figuring out what to do about the two men in her life and trying to wrangle her mom and finding the new power from the mission she is being sent on . Her life is pretty full and going to get wild with each passing day. Yes Yolanda and Rocco are back and reeking havoc where ever they go. 

   Kate and the gang are back and well lets say life is getting very interesting for poor Kate. She is taking everything in stride but people are getting on her nerves (her mother bonking her guard is just one of them)  She hasn't really come into her powers yet, so we see her struggle but we also see her pull through the attacks that are happening . She is getting stronger everyday . Grey is well he is her enemy but also she is attracted to him.There are moments she actually at the mercy of his desires and doesn't believe what Luke is trying to tell her. She is honestly fighting for her life and trying not to do down the dark and dangerous reality .The characters just keep getting better and honestly funnier with each book . 

   This is the third book in the series and it starts from where book two stopped, and has added more chaos ( mom) and actually a lot of laughter through out the book. The cast of characters are getting better and better. I am loving this series and can't wait to see what happens next. So if you want a fun summer read this is the series for you. Perfect for reading by the lake or pool. Check it out you won' t disappointed

 In 1948 just three years after the second World War has ended invitations are sent out to the ladies to celebrate 30 years of headmistress Madame's Paul 's leadership.  With each invitation that goes out we find out what is happening with the ladies , Lili. Oceane. Esther . Sable  Edda and Anna and Agnes and Madelaine. They all come together to celebrate and remember their lives and how they changed with the war .  We get to see them and how they survived what they have been through.

   Ok I have love these ladies since the first book I read. Each lady and got updated on the lives they have made for themselves after the horrors of the war. We see them happy but there is a sadness to them also. They are strong women all of them and they show it every day in their lives. You really get to see them happy when they are celebrating with Madame Paul. They are such well written and you will love them sooo much .

 When I first picked up this series I really didn't know about historical romance, yes there is romance in the books but there is also so much more. I love how the author uses the back drop of the war and all its ugliness for a story of surviving and finding a soul like theirs. The author has done such great research on the history and the violence.  The author will take you into a world where you will laugh, cry and cheer for the main characters. So if you want some excititng books check them out .

   Good morning my peeps , I am back , yes I know I have been mia for awhile. I kind of had a bit of burn out after the reader roundup and things going on the farm. I am back with book 38 in the Haven Hollow series . SATIN SUPERSTITIONS  by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain

 It's Lorcan's and my anniversary and I'm determined to make it a night to remember.

That might not sound like such a big deal, but I'm a witch, which means I haven't been trained in the art of romance. In fact, a few years ago, I wouldn't have even considered being in a relationship with a man, let alone married to one.

While I might like to put all my focus on planning the ultimate night out, something wicked this way comes in Haven Hollow. Seems someone is randomly cursing objects in town.

While I'm certainly not the type to want to involve myself in such things, the case turns personal when one of my clients is the subject of such a curse. Soon, I find myself working alongside Taliyah, our Chief of Police, as we both race against the clock to figure out whodunnit and why.

Hopefully, we can wrap this case up like yesterday because if there's something that really needs all my focus, it's trying to plan the date to end all dates…

                      MY REVIEW 

     Welcome back to the Hollow things have been well they have been going well . Wanda is well she is trying hard to figure out a plan to blow the socks off her husband for their first anniversary. Which is kind of hard because Lorcan is a vampire so a typical date is out, If that wasn't hard enough , she gets involved with the chief of police Taliyah trying to figure out who or what is cursing objects in a second hand store that are putting everyone in Haven Hollow at risk. Will they figure out what is going on and more important will Wanda finally figure out how to plan a romantic date for the vampire she loves more than life, 

   These characters just keep getting better and better . Wanda well she may think she is in charge and has a handle on her life as a coven leader and well a wife . But, there are moments she just doesn't have a sniff and it is just hilarious watching her fumble and realize that she really needs to ask for help. She seems to be more human in so many ways asking about what makes a good date and watching her friends tell her all the mushy details of what romance means to them. She is also still the kick butt witch witch that will help out , even though she really doesn't want to, to keep her supernatural friends safe. Even if it means that she actually get dirty. The rest of the gang are back also , telling of the romance in their lives but also ready to jump in and help out. These characters just keep getting better and funnier with each book that comes out . 

  This has to be my favourite series to date. The characters are just so interesting and so funny. There is never a dull moment when you start reading . The authors have built a great community of characters in this series. You feel like you could drive into any small town and you might find some special people there.  This is a laugh out loud series that would be so fun for your summer reading . So if you want a fun beach reach check out the series and be prepared to laugh

   Good morning my peeps . we made it to Tuesday. Today I have book five in the Misty Hollow series . SIREN'S CALL  by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain.

                    MY REVIEW 

 Welcome back to Misty Hollow. Marina , our resident mermaid and siren, just found out her partner is dead. The man who was her best friend and her partner. Like all things in Misty Hollow there is a roundabout way to get things done . When Jean- Baptiste. a were gator. and Marina are attacked things are about to go from bad to worse . With two mysteries to solve and having to deal with demons from the underground and having to appeal to a the mercies of a grouchy witch and then facing a fate worse then actual death. Will they survive the day . 

  This book in the series we get to see more of the back story on Marina and Anarchy. We get to find out more of their back story and boy is it interesting . Marina has had such an interesting life even when she was running for her life . She does grow a lot and we finally see her let go of a few things of her past. We also see Anarchy and why she is the way she is and her past. They are such great characters and it was great to see how they have evolved into what they are now. Jean- Baptiste and the rest of the gang are back and funnier then ever . I love how they have grown. 

  This is the fifth book in the series but it still feels fresh and fun . The authors have really put a lot of fun into the story and the characters . Misty Hollow is a fun read that will keep you entertained while at the pool or the campsite. So if you want a fun read check it out.

                   MY REVIEW 

 Catalina Ruiz is a sweet college graduate and the daughter of one of the top lieutenant's daughter in the Roriguez cartel. She is basically forced into marrying the son and the next capo of the Luciano famigila to strengthen the cartel's  ties . But will the marriage be downfall for both Dario and Catalina, love is weakness in the family but theirs is the first that could maybe keep everyone safe . 

Dario and Catalina are one of those couples that you really start to cheer for. Dario is a man that honestly violence has molded him and made him into the man that is today. But there is a side to him that is honestly loving and kind to those that mean something to him. He is also deadly when those he holds close are threatened and or killed . Catalina may be only in her 20's but she is actually wiser than her years . She knows what is to be done for duty but she also has an inner fire that will keep her safe when push comes to shove . They actually are a couple that fit together and really look out for each other.  He is dark, brooding and dangerous and she is his ray of light but is also independent and will fight along side of her husband. 

  This is the first book in a new series for this author, but what I really like that each book will be a stand alone book that you can read and get their story with no cliff hangers . Each book will have a core set of characters and others will pop in and out . I love books like that they are a fun read and you get to get involved with and fall in love with more characters that way. This is a really good read with lots of intrigue and smexy times with a couple that are falling in love This author has a way of taking a dark brooding alpha man and letting him fall for a woman who is sunshine but almost as deadly as he can be.  I can't wait for book two in the series . So if you want a series that would be a great summer beach read with a dark twist . Check it out I promise you will fall for Dario and Catalina.

  Good morning my peeps , it is Friday eve and it looks like it might be a wet weekend here . So I have all my books lined up for a weekend of reading . Today I have for you HEXES AND HOARFROST  book 3i in the Haven Hollow series by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain.

 Being possessed is no walk in the park.

   Welcome back to the hollow , Lydia is trying to set up her new oddities shop along with Angelo but Indigo the dead witch who is sharing Lydia's body. She is having a rough time of it getting divorced, catching the eye of an incubus and now someone wants to take Lydia out because of Indigo. She needs all the help she can get between Angelo and Marty her new guardians it should be ok right . Well wrong an ice monster is making life unbearable for her and Indigo isn't helping at all. When push comes to shove the people ,super naturals , of Haven Hollow will help each other out and save the day. 

  Lydia and Angelo well they are like all the couples in the hollow . They know they like each other but can't let their feeling out . Lydia is a gypsy actually a distant cousin of Poppy , but she is a lot more. She is also a witch with latent powers and also possessed by a powerful witch that can help her if she wanted to. She is a sweet woman but a little naive in some ways also. Angelo is an incubus an actual sex demon but he may be sexy and alluring he does have some morals, He really likes Lydia and that is one reason he hasn't pressed her into anything, They belong together but Marty the mundane who is a null throws a kink into the plan when he come up with the fact he could be a guardian to her also. I feel for Marty he is trying to find the  one for him and having no luck . He is a sweet normal guy who has had a run of bad luck . I really like Marty . He is the sweetest guy ever . The rest of the gang is also back and ready to help out . 

  This series and its branches are just getting funnier and funnier, I love how the authors can add new characters but keep the complexity of the original characters . You can easily fall into the ways of life in the Hollow and be part of it . The sub series of this series is  Occult Oddities and this is the second book in the series . These books are just fun to read and you can read them in an evening . The characters will take you away and into a town which is more like a family then friends and keep you entertained . A great beach read for your summer .

                       MY REVIEW 

 Sydney is invited to a retreat for a week by a friend of hers on the volleyball team. She really just wants to get away from everything and charger her batteries .  When she arrives she wasn't expecting a mansion in the middle of no where and all the spoiled rich kids there. Then the fun begins when they are all meant to play a game called Truth or Kill . Things go from bad to worse when she finds her room mate dead and the killer is one of them. The only bright spot in the game that she is stuck in is Kage a dark, brooding sex god named Kage . He is her life line in this strange game. But what she doesn't know is that she just might not make it through the week, What she doesn't know is that Kage is watching her and keeping her safe from what is going to happen. Will they survive the week and will Kage be able to keep her to himself for just a little while. 

    Ok lets talk characters, Sydney is well she is strong woman, she has been through so much in her life and honestly she is a survivor and kind of a loner. When push comes to shove she will stand up for herself and keep secrets of those who she cares for.  Kage is a mystery and man he is a mystery . He is sexy, brooding man who well can make you swoon with just a smile and a wink. There is a darker more dominate side to him that would make you pant and that is the side that Sydney loves the most . They are both are lost and trying to find a way back to a life . There are so many other characters that are in the book most of them spoiled brats and selfish babies and boy you want to slap up side the head a few times to smarten them out . These are characters are very well written and complex in their own right .  You will love them or hate them . 

  This is one of those books where once you start you just can't put it down. I read it in an evening. The characters are so well written and you will love or hate them depending on the chapter. There is a romance but also a great mystery that is going on through out the book. You wonder who will survive and why they are doing this to them the twists and turns are great through out the book but there were moments where you will just think what is going on and why is he just letting her get hurt.  So if you want a book that will have you reading into the night and love a little danger, lots of romance with a some aspects of dominance and a good mystery . Check it out would make a good summer read .

 WHAT HAPPENS ON HOLIDAY STAYS ON HOLIDAY , right . Well that might not be the case for Penny and Alec. On a girls holiday in Cancun with her friends, Penny is having the time of her life and when she spots Alec at the pool after coming in from the surf , looking all handsome. Alec is thinking when he sees Penny a night will be fun but as they get to know each other both of them are thinking maybe one night won't be enough. When they find out they are from the same town things are looking up but when they get home things don't go as planned and hearts will be broken. Will they both over come the insecurities they have and realize that they belong together. 

  Penny and Alec what can you say about them. Alec is kind of sexy geek with a bad boy mouth on him. But, there is an insecurity to him.  He might just want a real relationship and not a fling. He is one of those men that women would love to have in their lives . He can be demanding when he want something and the something is Penny. Penny is having fun and celebrating her birthday when she meets Alec. She comes off as a confident woman but there is as underlying sadness to her. It seems she has been hurt and doesn't want to jump into a relationship . Sex is what she wants and with Alec it is mind blowing . She has trouble with true feeling and when they bubble up that is when the problems start for the couple. With the help of their friends they try and find their way back to each other .  These two are a fun couple and well written , you feel like you are in a real relationship with these two . 

  This is the first book in a new series for this author. She takes us on a fun filled vacation story that you will want to have . The characters are well written and the author does show the vulnerability in both of them through out. I did enjoy the book but there were moments where I just wanted to slap both of them upside the head for the sheer stubbornness of both of them. This is one of those books that have lots of romantic times and also some miscommunications which will actually have you laughing in some areas . This would be a fun book to read on your summer vacation or just a day at the beach . Check it out .

 

WELCOME TO DAY 4

   Good day my peeps, today is I think day 4 of reader round up novels . I have for you today EVERYBODY PAYS  book 6 in the Detective Cadillac Holland mystery series.by H Max Miller

  When the missing diaries of the mobster Marion Puglisi Detective Cadillac Holland is trying to keep one step ahead of the people that want them. The diaries go missing on the eve of Puglisi 's release and there are the Italian mafia in New Orleans to the Dixie Mafia to the Russian gangster , they all want those books for one reason on another . Everyone is willing to do anything get those diaries even kill for them. Will detective Holland keep one step ahead and keep himself alive in the process.

  Cadillac and the gang are back and funnier then ever . Cadillac is having such a time of it lately. He is trying so hard not get killed while figuring out what is going on. He is still bumbling around sort of way about him but he has a great mind and will always figure out what has happened. He still has his love for food . There is such a fun ensemble cast of characters through out the book that really help Cadillac out or want to kill him depends on the day. They are such well written and complex and each of them have their own personality and quirks that pop of the page at you. There are characters that you will love and those that you just can't stand. 

  This is the 6th book in the series and it stands up very well, the author really upped his game in this book . There are a lot of threads through out the book and I will admit i did get a little confused in parts but the author got me back on track . I truly enjoyed this book so if you want a great mystery with rich characters check out this series .

However dangers still lurk in shadows as the Sins start to unfold for Daniel. Such as facing the Omni Spirits, powerful spirits that make the Alpha spirits look like nothing. Beta Creatures who are beasts that were never ready for the worlds. And of course Sins, controlled by the Unholy father, Magi whom seeks out Daniel Twist for some ominous reason.

                     MY REVIEW 

  Daniel Twist is completing his level of a spirit tamer to advance his training in becoming a soldier in an Elite group. He is force to leave his family and travel to a faraway land of Celestial where he meets other spirit tamers, who have opened the box of spirits . In hopes of getting close to the King of Creation. But like with everything there are hidden dangers and when sins start to unfold and announce themselves to Daniel. He finds himself facing Omni Spirits that make Alpha spirits look like a walk in the park. Those sins are controlled by an unholy Magi who has eyes on Daniel for some dark reason. 

   The characters in this book are well written . Daniel is a young man wanting to do what is right and rank up as a soldier . He is a no nonsense guy with a good head on his shoulders . He knows the difference between right and wrong but when push comes to shove  With the cast of characters that come in and help Daniel out through out his training . We get to see some friends start to become family and help each other out .

   This is such a good story, there is action and adventure through out the book . The author paints a picture of a time and a place where spirits are caught and tamed . Where good and bad are entwined in a way that you don't know if they are really that bad or that good . I honestly felt like it was in the same category a of another wizarding book . But this book is darker and just a little edgier. I truly enjoyed this story and want to see more from him . So if you have a teen that enjoys fantasy books , check it out for a good summer read .

 I'm Jordan Ann Bland, Jo to my friends.

I hate lies.

I know from personal experience they ruin lives. To me, every lie has a color. The only lies I usually tell are pink ones; they don't hurt anyone, but they make my life more exciting, much less—well, bland, and I don't even have to leave the comfort of my home.

Then one night, I go against everything I believe and tell a gray lie, the kind that can hurt others, and it happens in front of one of the sexiest men I've ever seen. Now, I must keep telling these lies, so he doesn't catch onto my secret. These gray lies are now turning into one of the worst-colored lies—black. This is why I hate all lies other than the pink ones.

To make things worse, this gorgeous man is dragging me around to do every pink lie I ever told; I have a feeling he knows I'm a liar.

I hate liars, even though I am one.

Chalk it up to a bad past relationship. I don't want to be around liars, or get stuck in another relationship with one. But when the petite blonde in the bar makes a comment I know to be one whopper of a lie, I feel I need to do something about it, even though I must lie to her in turn—trust me, I know how hypocritical it is. Still, something about Jo draws me in, as much as it pushes me away.

My scheme to out her as a liar, opens my eyes to fun and, quite possibly, love. I do know one thing I refuse to do is fall for another liar, no matter how attracted I am to her.

                       MY REVIEW 

  Jo hates lies she knows that they can hurt people . She labels each type of lie with a color  The pink lies don't hurt anyone so those are the ones she tries to tell . Until the night she tells a grey lie , which could hurt someone, not only she tells the lie but she tells it in front of the most handsome man she has met . Roman, he hates all liars male and female, after a bad relationship he hates them all . Until the night he runs into Jo at the bar and after hearing her tell the whopper of a lie and now he wants to catch her in the lie and call her out. Even if he has to lie to her to get her to open up. Will they be able to figure out what is going on and finally figure out that they are meant to be together. 

  Roman and Jo as such fun characters , they are two sides of the same coin but they just don't know it . Jo hates liars and tries not to lie but when does she tell one its a whopper . She is a sweet woman who has labeled lies colors . When she meets Roman. who is one hot man and also kind of full of himself. He tries his worst to see if he can get her caught in her own lies . But as they hang out they find out there is more to them then meets the eye. Like falling in love and finally having the relationship worth having. This book does have an ensemble cast of characters that come and go through out the book and keep Jo and Roman on the right path sort of way. Each character is well written and they are complex . You will like them and fall in love with them by the end of the book. 

  This is one those books that once you start you will be sucked in trying to figure out what their true hearts have . It is a love story that is mixed with a kind of revenge story between the two main characters. I love that the main female character has named colors to the lies she hears and when the main guy tries to figure her out well there is romance. Lots of romance . I do like this story and the authors way of writing so if you want a good story with lots of fun characters check it out . A great beach book for this summer .
