GOOD MORNING IS IS DAY 2 OF NOVELS IN READER ROUNDUP

Good morning my peeps , it is day two of the novel portion of the reader roundup. Today we have for you COLORED LIES by V.J Lee.

                             BOOK BLURB

I'm Jordan Ann Bland, Jo to my friends.

I hate lies.

I know from personal experience they ruin lives. To me, every lie has a color. The only lies I usually tell are pink ones; they don't hurt anyone, but they make my life more exciting, much less—well, bland, and I don't even have to leave the comfort of my home.

Then one night, I go against everything I believe and tell a gray lie, the kind that can hurt others, and it happens in front of one of the sexiest men I've ever seen. Now, I must keep telling these lies, so he doesn't catch onto my secret. These gray lies are now turning into one of the worst-colored lies—black. This is why I hate all lies other than the pink ones.

To make things worse, this gorgeous man is dragging me around to do every pink lie I ever told; I have a feeling he knows I'm a liar.

I hate liars, even though I am one.

I'm Roman Joseph Arndt-Blackwell, RJ to my friends.

I hate all liars.

Chalk it up to a bad past relationship. I don't want to be around liars, or get stuck in another relationship with one. But when the petite blonde in the bar makes a comment I know to be one whopper of a lie, I feel I need to do something about it, even though I must lie to her in turn—trust me, I know how hypocritical it is. Still, something about Jo draws me in, as much as it pushes me away.

My scheme to out her as a liar, opens my eyes to fun and, quite possibly, love. I do know one thing I refuse to do is fall for another liar, no matter how attracted I am to her.

I hate liars, even though I am one.

                       MY REVIEW
Jo hates lies she knows that they can hurt people . She labels each type of lie with a color  The pink lies don't hurt anyone so those are the ones she tries to tell . Until the night she tells a grey lie , which could hurt someone, not only she tells the lie but she tells it in front of the most handsome man she has met . Roman, he hates all liars male and female, after a bad relationship he hates them all . Until the night he runs into Jo at the bar and after hearing her tell the whopper of a lie and now he wants to catch her in the lie and call her out. Even if he has to lie to her to get her to open up. Will they be able to figure out what is going on and finally figure out that they are meant to be together.
Roman and Jo as such fun characters , they are two sides of the same coin but they just don't know it . Jo hates liars and tries not to lie but when does she tell one its a whopper . She is a sweet woman who has labeled lies colors . When she meets Roman. who is one hot man and also kind of full of himself. He tries his worst to see if he can get her caught in her own lies . But as they hang out they find out there is more to them then meets the eye. Like falling in love and finally having the relationship worth having. This book does have an ensemble cast of characters that come and go through out the book and keep Jo and Roman on the right path sort of way. Each character is well written and they are complex . You will like them and fall in love with them by the end of the book.
This is one those books that once you start you will be sucked in trying to figure out what their true hearts have . It is a love story that is mixed with a kind of revenge story between the two main characters. I love that the main female character has named colors to the lies she hears and when the main guy tries to figure her out well there is romance. Lots of romance . I do like this story and the authors way of writing so if you want a good story with lots of fun characters check it out . A great beach book for this summer .

GOOD DAY AND WELCOME TO DAY 1 OF NOVELS FOR READER ROUND UP

Good morning my peeps , today is day one of novels for reader roundup. Our first book of reader round up is AS ANGELS WEEP by Kali Willows .

                           BOOK BLURB

Penance was inconsequential to me once upon a time. Now, for the first time in my life, it means everything. My soul depends on it.

For years, I swindled wealthy women and made shady business deals, regardless of how it impacted my victims. In just seven days, I face spiritual exile. My fate is to be doomed to purgatory for my past deeds, selfishness, and cruelty.

My one chance at salvation? I have an assignment to complete, with rules, strict rules, and unspeakable consequences if I fail.

Whoever said good guys finish last was sadly mistaken. I’d never been a good guy. Now, I have to be one if I want redemption. ~ Luther Evans

                        MY REVIEW
Luther was not a good man . he was a serial cheater and he was a swindler and well basically a con man, until the day someone tried to take him out and now he has seven days to redeem himself and get it right with God and those who he hurt to be redeemed. There are rules so many rules that will keep him on the right path or the consequences are dire an eternal life in purgatory . Now this bad boy needs to be the man who is the good guy for all those around him and most of all a good guy for himself.

Omg I have never wanted to slap someone so hard but Luther is that one character I wish i could of taken a frying pan upside his head . He was well I honestly don't think he could be redeemable in my eyes . As we watch him though we actually see him turning into the man he should of been all along . He was such a broken man and he grew into the man he was suppose to be
There are so many characters that teach him a lesson , Gabrielle is the arch angel that is put in charge of his redemption and along the way they become close . She is a sweet woman with the power of love and she really does help Luther through the hard stuff while he is trying figure out what he needs to do . Theses characters are so well written and you can't help but cheer for Luther as he goes on his journey.

This is one of those books that when you start you don't put down until you are done . The author takes us on a very emotional roller coaster ride of what it means for redemption .  This book will also make you think a little on what and how your life is and how you can be more compassionate and loving towards others . I truly enjoyed this book and was happy everyone got their happily ever after. So if you want a book that will have you turning pages all night check it out.

WE ARE BACK FOR DAY 9 OF READER ROUND UP

Good morning my peeps , we are back to reader round up and today is day nine  of reader round up and I have for you book two in the Dragons of Ellechor series by Rochelle Bradley. DRAGUNZEL

                               BOOK BLURB

Once upon a time, a girl fell into a magical realm, knocking out a dragon-shifter prince...

When Casey accidentally touches a magic portal and falls into another world, she doesn't intend to knock out a handsome prince. Nor did she plan on a rogue stranger accusing her of witchcraft and kidnapping her, taking her prisoner in the castle's tallest tower.

Prince of Ellehcor, Jett enlists the help of his brothers to find Casey at any cost. Wracked with guilt that her tumble into Ellehcor and subsequent vanishing is all his fault, he must save her before he fails her again. And the more he searches, the more he suspects Casey is his mate--if only he'd had the chance to tell her.

Can Casey overcome her crippling phobia and outsmart her captor? Unable to shift into dragon form, will Jett prove he's a worthy mate? They must scale great heights to reach their happily ever after.

                     MY REVIEW
Casey is a sweet girl who knows of a portal to a magical place where dragon shifters live . Her best friend is also in that realm with her mate. When she accidently falls through the portal . She not only knocks out Jett, her mate and one of the princes of Ellechor. She is kidnapped and taken to a magical tower and held against her will. Will Jett be able to find her and will Casey be able to get over her fear of heights before it is too late . Will they be able to be together in the end .

Casey is well she is your damsel in distress and boy she does need help. Her life is basically a big mess after her grandma passed away and her aunt and uncle are causing her trouble . She may be a little naive but she has a heart of gold and wants the best for people. She sure comes into her own as she over comes a lot to become the woman she was meant to be. Jett is well he is a prince and a sexy sweet guy. Who wants to protect those he loves and cherishes . He is a good guy who loves m&ms and the sweet girl who is more then she knows

This is the second book in the series by you can almost read it as a stand alone. The characters are well written and you will cheer for them.  The author paints a beautiful painting of a land where dragons rule. I enjoyed this story it is such a sweet retelling of one my favorite fairy tales Rapunzel .  So if you want a sweet romance with a touch of mystery to it check out this book . This series would be a great beach read for this summer .

HAPPY RELEASE DAY

Good morning my peeps, today we are taking a break from reader roundup for a new release from Pam Godwin. Today we have for you book 2 in the Frozen Fate series . Lets check out CAGE OF ICE AND ECHOES .

                          BOOK BLURB

Frankie’s story continues in this second book in the Frozen Fate trilogy by Pam Godwin.

Frankie and her ruthless protectors conquered unspeakable evil. But their fight to escape the hills of shivers and shadows is far from over.
Stranded in Alaska, survival becomes paramount against starvation, hypothermia, and the dangerous predators lurking outside their isolated cabin.
Sharing precious body heat with her viciously possessive men presents another challenge. She must navigate not only the brutal arctic tundra but also the intricacies of polyamorous love to ensure they make it out alive.
Tensions rise as the ice thickens, and their only hope rests on a plane they can’t fly.
Unless they unlock the secrets hidden beneath its wings in a cage of ice and echoes.

                       MY REVIEW
Frankie and the guys are back and just trying to survive the prison that Denver's death left them in.  Time is starting to run out for them to figure out the clues on their survival and spring is still a long ways away . As the days grow darker and the food starts to run low they have to count on each other to survive and figure out how to fly the plane that can save them and also figure out the clues of how to survive. Will Kodiak, Leonid and Frankie survive to get to the answers they seek.

Frankie and her guys are back and trying survive . Kody and Leo are well still hot and still over protective with Frankie. They are getting along better but they are still mourning Wolf's death and the quiet and cold is getting to them. They both are coming to terms with what loving Frankie entails and that entails her wanting both of them and loving both of them. Frankie well she is trying to keep everyone alive but there are moments that you kinda want to shut her up She gets a little bossy and annoying in a way.  She does become a force to listen to towards the end of the book . We also get to see more of Monty and man he isn't doing too well. He is well a mess over Frankie going missing but is it real or is he just playing a game to bring her back so he can process her and can he try and be the hero or will he turn out to be a villain.  The characters are well written and there was some real growth with all of them.

This is the second book in the series and when I started reading I was kind of hoping it would break me as book one did.   The first part was ok , don't get me wrong there were parts where my heart was in my throat but there were moments where it was just a good story .Until you hit about half way through when the author starts to build up what is going to be an epic tale of survival and the gut punches at the end had me reeling with a lot of wth moments . I mean the hospital room alone was filled with so much tension you could feel it bounce off the pages .Over all i really enjoyed this book and i so can't wait for book 3 and how they will survive the fallout . Just forewarned that there might be some triggers through out this book. So if you love dark romance check it out.

WE MADE IT TO DAY 7 OF READER ROUND UP

Good morning my book loving peeps . we made it to day seven of reader round up. Today I have for you a second chance fairy tale retelling . THE WOLF IS RUNNING FROM RED  by Toni Lynn

                             BOOK BLURB

"I can't believe you are running from a woman!"

"That just means you don't know, Red!"

Dan and Amanda were destined to be with one another; Amanda “Red” Peters knew it. She knew he was the one since he saved her in kindergarten. After college, they would marry, and she’d get the guy, the kids, and the dog. It didn’t matter that her family had money and Dan’s didn’t. Then on the day he came home from college, Dan Gathers turned cold, broke her heart, and left town.

Eight years ago, Dan Gathers left his heart and went on to become “the Wolf” of banking in New York. When his father falls ill, he has to leave his life behind and go home to face a father who knew he would be back; he saw the signs. A mother who has a saying for all occasions and an ex-girlfriend who has determined she will do the right thing by them both.

Can these two settle the past, trust the future and survive a town that is determined to help them? In Hollyport, love is always a little complicated but totally worth it.

                     MY REVIEW
Amanda and Dan were destined to be , so Amanda thought, ever since he saved her in kindergarten. She thought that they would get married and have kids. When in college he broke her heart and left to head to the big city.  In the eight years away Dan has become the wolf of the banking world. He thought he had the world by the tail until his dad gets ill and he has to head home. Where his ex girlfriend is and his mother who knows that they belong together and just need to be together. Will they work through the tangled mess he left and figure out past hurt and become the couple that they should be.

Ok this is a retelling of little red riding hood but Red is doing the chasing this time. Red is one very unique woman. She is very accomplished but also very wary of who she is around .She is no nonsense and knows what she wants but she also is kind of scared cause she has been hurt.  Dan well he is kind of a jerk when we first meet him and through out the book he is still a jerk but he does have a heart of gold and truly does love the people in his life . He is just working through a lot that has happened to him and coming to terms with his future and what it would be like.  There are so many other characters that will make you laugh through out the book. Dan's parents are hilarious in their seeing of the signs around them and what they mean but they are smarter then they let on and know what their son really needs in his life.

I am at a cross roads with this book. I really love the premise of the story and the characters are well written and you do care for them. But. there were times through the book I just felt confused and a little lost . I felt the story was just disjointed in some ways and it didn't flow as well as it should .  Overall I truly enjoyed this story and where the author was going with the characters . Love their quirkiness and the love they do have for each other . So if you want to take a chance and have a fun read check it out

WELCOME TO DAY 5

Good morning peeps , welcome to day 5 of reader round up. Day four was taken over by trying to get my eye unblurry from cataract surgery. But, I am back and ready to review YOUNG FAE  by Annamarie Gardner.

                         BOOK BLURB

Young adult series that follows a young girls journey into finding out who she truly is.

                          MY REVIEW

What happens when you go to sleep on your eighteenth birthday and dream of a mysterious man in a garden who has been looking for you for a very long time. That is exactly what happened to Asha, waking up to a whole new world where she finds out that she is actually a fairy princess but also an elemental. Nightmares haunt her every night and with the help of Draven, they will find the shadow man and stop him from takin Asha away,

The characters are well written , Asha is your typical eighteen year old but there is more to her then anyone realizes . She becomes a fighter as she navigates her new life  Draven is her constant companion and love . We see them fall in love along the way. He is a fighter and really romantic when it comes to Asha . We also get to see a lot of characters come in and out of their lives all there when she needs them. The characters are written well I think i would of liked them more if we got to know them a little better and they had a little bit more meat to them to make them more complex.

This is a short read but in this short read the author has packed in romance, intrigue and friendship.  The characters are really well written and the story line is good . The author take us on a fantasy fueled ride. I truly enjoyed the story and like where the author was taking the characters but I also felt that if felt rushed in some areas and we didn't get to feel what the characters were thinking and feeling . This would be a good series for your teen. So if you want some good fun read for your teens check it out .

Good morning my peeps . hope your week is going well . Its day three of reader roundup and today I have for you  PUSHING UP DAISY by Kali Willows

                          BOOK BLURB

In the second installment of the Decadent Legacies Series, the enigmatic Dulce Sisters return to their family manor's shadowy corridors, unveiling eerie mysteries and a lingering haunting through a psychic tarot party. Simultaneously, the Tash Brothers, Liam and Jesse, collaborate with the sisters in a promising renovation venture, unraveling shocking revelations about the brothers' tragic past and exposing hidden crimes.

As the narrative unfurls, the budding connection between Amy and Liam faces disruption amid deadly secrets, transforming the once-promising renovation project into a chilling crime scene. The story intricately weaves together dark mystery, love, and supernatural elements, keeping readers on the edge of their seats until the final page.

In this heart-wrenching saga, the Dulce Sisters and the Tash Brothers find themselves in a race against time to uncover the deadly secrets of the past. The pivotal question lingers hauntingly: Can they conquer the shadows cast by dark forces to find love, or will the uncovered secrets and tragedies weave a web that tears them apart in suspenseful and emotional turmoil?

                    MY REVIEW

Lizzie, Hedy and Amy Dulce are sisters with a problem in their family manor . Things aren't what they are suppose to be. Water faucet turning on and off , dishes flying all over the kitchen, a mysterious room in the basement. Things are complicated and when their friend Elora comes to do readings Amy is given a reading that Liam will have the key to her heart . As the mystery grows will the sisters and the Tash brothers be able to figure it all out before someone really gets hurt ,

Ok I love these characters, Amy, Lizzie and Hedy are so much fun to read . Each woman has unique talents and they really have a love for each other and their friends . This is Amy's story and we get to see her vulnerable and also we see her with her fighting spirit. We also see her start to fall for Liam the sexy contractor and Jesse's brother . He is a rock for Amy even though he really doesn't know what is going on. They are well written and complex .

This is a fun, fast read I couldn't put it down , I know it is the second book in the series but it does read as a stand alone. Each character is well written and you will be loving them. I just wish it was just a little longer to get us to know the characters better . This is a book you can pick up and read in an evening . I truly enjoyed this book and going to grab book one to see how it all began. So check it out .

WELCOME TO DAY 2 OF READER ROUND UP

Good morning my peeps , today is day 2 of the reader round up and I have another new author to me . Let me introduce you to CJ Baty and her book NOT AGAIN

                        BOOK BLURB

Lizzie Ferguson is not a typical 1912 woman.

Owner of the E.M. Ferguson Detective Agency, she prefers to live life outside of society’s norm – both in and out of the bedroom – which leads to complications when she finds herself attracted to her beautiful assistant, Julia Straton, and an arrogant, yet devastatingly handsome journalist named Walton Crew. But who has time for romance when there are murders to solve?
Her newest case is eerily similar to one from the past. Male brothel workers are being butchered, so she calls on old friends and Pinkerton detectives, Michael O’Leary and Stiles Long, to help track down the killer. Working together, the three friends race against the clock to prevent more blood from being shed, but when all is said and done, will the citizens of New York City accept Lizzie for who she is?

                      MY REVIEW
Lizzie is not your typical woman , she is the owner of E.M  Ferguson detective agency and she has a new case which involves missing male brothel workers which is eerily similar to a past case. With the help of her friends and old owners of the detective agency . Michael O'Leary and his friend Niles Stiles all three will try and figure out what is happening in the brothel. The whole time trying to figure out her feelings for her pretty assistant Julia and what the people of New York will think of her.
These are some really fun characters . Lizzie is a woman before her time , she is confidant and sassy but also very patient and sweet when it comes to those who she loves.  She is a hard working woman with a heart of gold .  Michael and Stiles seem like they are the comic relief that keep LIzzie on the right path when trying to solve the mystery. There are a lot of other characters that come and go with in the story that you will love . Julia is the sweetest character of the group she keeps Lizzie together and working hard but she is hiding a secret that might not let her work for Lizzie anymore.
This is one of those novellas that will sweep you back into the past and see what was life like when you don't fit into normal society . The author takes us on an adventure while we are trying to solve the mystery, which is so much fun. We get to see the characters grow and become more complex as we read along. This has all the elements a mystery, great characters and some good ole romance thrown in for good measure . Check it ouf if you want a fun read for a rainy afternoon .

                         BOOK BLURB

Can a fortune teller truly predict the future?

                    MY REVIEW
When on the hunt for a murderer in a gang infested park Adam Scott , a police officer with the Miami police department, finds more than a murder suspect . He finds a woman who calls to him, who makes him feel just a little more . Tory Mckidd will she save him from the killers or will she try and change their fate that will bring them together or will the fates pull them apart

The characters in this book are such a fun couple . Adam is a no nonsense type of guy who does his job well. When he meets the one for him things start to change in his life. He can't get her out of his mind and he can't stand not being around her and is trying to figure her out. Tory is a woman with secrets and one of them is that she is a psychic who is trying to figure out who killed her brother. She is a tough woman who doesn't want help from anyone but when  Adam comes on the scene she can't help but protect him from what is going on in the park.

This is a story that has a mystery and romance all in one . This is actually a retelling of a paranormal story that was turned into a great suspense story . Which actually works well, the author just has a way of writing that will keep you turning pages all night . Her characters are well written and complex an you can't help but love them. So if you want a good suspense story check it out

ITS ALMOST THE WEEKEND

Good morning my peeps , I hope this finds you well on this Thursday.  I have been in a reading slump just a little well cataract surgery had something to do with that but when  I found out book 2 in the Daughters of the Moon series was out I had to read .  So lets check out THE HANGED MAN by Hp Mallory.

                          BOOK BLURB

 KATE:

After inheriting my aunt’s crappy castle in the rinky dink town of Maplewood, Vermont, my life will never be the same again. I’m not even slightly exaggerating.

So why the pity party? Well, first off, I’m now a celestial guardian (called a Daughter of the Moon) and prior to moving here, I didn't even read my horoscope. Second, I’m the caretaker of a talking goat and a shrunken head, yet I've never even owned a goldfish! And third? I’m stuck with literally the WORST bodyguard in the history of terrible bodyguards. Right--Magnus is about as fun as a hemorrhoid.

And let’s not even talk about the fact that as soon as I made my vow to the moon, my body decided to morph into a fertility statue (and I'm forty-freaking-five!) Still not exaggerating--the Andes have sprouted on my chest and my ass needs its own zip code.

But that’s not even the worst part! Nope, not by a long shot.

The absolute kicker is that my sex-crazed, nudist of a mother has just decided to relocate to a town nearby which means we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other. That might sound nice, but it isn’t. Not at all. Trust me--you haven't met my mother...

At least I have Luke Montgomery to rely on—Luke’s a magician in town and he’s the only one who’s able to keep me from wanting to tear my hair out. Not only that, but Luke’s in a word: hot. And, yeah, I might have a little crush on him…

As if things weren't weird enough, they get even weirder when I start having dreams of an incredibly sexy man who appears to be stuck in a garden. I can’t decide if he’s simply the result of one too many snacks before bedtime or if he’s meant to teach me something about the newest tarot lesson I’m embarking on—The Hanged Man.

Sometimes life truly is stranger than fiction.

                      MY REVIEW

After the lessons of the first tarot card Kate isn't really looking forward to figuring out the rest of her powers that she got from becoming a daughter of the moon. It seems like things are going from bad to worse for poor Kate. She is having dreams of a sexy man who is trapped in a garden, she is not sure if he is there to help her or hinder her. Magnus is trying to train her and then there is Luke who is helping her out and Rocco and Yolanda aren't helping matters any. Then to top it off Kate's mom has come to Vermont and well is wreaking havoc all over the place . Will anyone survive mom and will Kate figure out the hanged man tarot card before the Dark Coven come for her .

Kate and the gang are back and my oh my funnier then ever. Poor Kate she is having a tough time trying to wrap her head around all that is going on with her new life.  We do get to see Kate grow a bit but she still comes off as a whiner through out the story Magnus is still as bossy as ever and well Luke is still as sweet and sexy. They are starting to grow deeper and more complex as characters through out the book, we also get to meet mom and man she is a whirlwind of insanity and child like behavior, lock up your sons , lock up your sons.

The second book in the series dives more into what it means to be a daughter of the moon and what Kate has to do to stay alive . The author takes us on a fun fueled ride. All I am going to say is poor Magnus. There are many giggle times through out the book not only from Rocco and Yolanda but also Kate's mom and her flamboyant way of life . So if you want a fun book this is the series for you check it out you will like it.
