WOW LAST POST OF 2022

Wow peeps this will be my last post of the year, can't believe how fast this year has gone. For my last book of the year is a Christmas novella by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain. THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT .

                          BOOK BLURB

It’s Christmas Eve, and Poppy isn’t feeling much of the Christmas spirit.

Her mind churning with doubt regarding her recent engagement to Marty, Poppy’s thoughts are a turbulent sea of anxiety and regret.

When a stranger walks into Poppy’s shop, introducing herself as Noelle, she tells Poppy she’s looking for a potion called Holiday Cheer. Poppy is surprised because she’s never even heard of it.

Almost as soon as Noelle walks into the shop, she disappears again, leaving only the recipe for the potion and a festive candy cane.

After brewing the mystery potion, Poppy finds herself transported to a dreamscape of her own life five years into the future.

Whether the vision is a gift delivered by the Spirit of Christmas or the result of Poppy’s stressed mind, she’ll be confronted with a future that will make her reconsider her present.

                MY REVIEW

Poppy is having second thoughts over her engagement with Marty. It is Christmas eve and Poppy is filled anxiety and a little bit of regret. Until the moment a sweet stranger comes into her shop and has Poppy mix up a potion . After Poppy brews up the potion, she is transported into a future that is five years ahead . Will the vision help Poppy out and help set her feelings on the right path and help her decide her present.

Poppy is back and she is stressed to the max, she is torn on what to do about her future . Also she is having trouble with Finn growing up, just like all moms do. I was kind of worried about her in the end of the last book , she is such a people pleaser and wants to do the right thing. We actually get to see her grow up and stand her ground. Noelle is a sweet character that is all Christmas magic and sweetness all rolled into a cutie. We don't see much of her but what we do see is a sweet magical pixie that is showing Poppy the way.

This book was written right after Pan's Delight which I was excited for. We didn't have to wait to find out what is going on with Poppy. They really hit it on the head. It is like they took a part of Scrooged Christmas story and applied it to Poppy. It is a fast fun read that put me in the Christmas spirit. I can't wait for the next Haven Hollow book.  If you want a fun series check it out.

A GREAT READ FOR CHRISTMAS

Good morning peeps, I think the cold has finally hit my computer, she sure doesn't want to work this morning . I hope that everyone  is ready for Christmas. Today I have book 24 in the Haven Hollow series. ARMED AND CHARMED by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain

                        BOOK BLURB

The seal on the spell that’s been keeping my Fae side in check is due to break tonight at midnight…

And I’m set to marry a man I don’t really know, and what I do know of him, I don’t particularly like.

All because some stupid prophecy (from before I was even born) proclaimed as much.

Talk about a crappy deal…

With my Fae powers set to take over and the threat of becoming the Queen of the Winter Court becoming all too real, I find myself stuck at the bar of the Half-Moon Grill in a full-blown pity party.

In walks Maverick, a bounty hunter who occasionally works for me and who’s become the closest thing I have to a friend in Haven Hollow.

Learning of my predicament, Maverick offers me a way out—marry him instead.

At least in title only.

Marrying Maverick would definitely free me from having to marry Prince Reynard of the Autumn Court (otherwise known as Fox Aspen). It will also resolve that blasted prophecy, but after my first marriage went down in flames, do I really want to go for round two?

Short answer: no.

But it doesn’t look like I have much of a choice. It’s either marry Maverick, and my life will basically stay the same, or I don’t and suffer the consequences.

Little do I know, the consequences are coming for me no matter what I choose…

                     MY REVIEW

Taliyah is not having a good day, her powers are coming in fast and her wedding date is getting closer and closer. She doesn't want to become the queen of the winter court and even more she doesn't want to marry the prince of the autumn court. Enter Maverick, Wanda's brother, he gives her an out that could save her from heading to the Fae court as their queen. What they don't know is that the consequences have a way of biting you in the butt and taking you away from those you care about. Will they be able to fight for what they want and what they both need even though they might not know it.

Ok I have to admit something to you all Tallyah really wasn't my favourite character in the other books, but she redeemed herself in this book . I finally got to feel the pain and hurt that Tallyah had in her heart. She has been through so much and we get to see the hurt she has in her heart. Tallyah really grows in this book and becomes one fierce woman who will not let anything get in her way. Maverick really came through and he really showed us that he is more then just Wanda's brother and misfit in a way.  They are a great fighting team and prove that there can be a love between them.

It is fun to always go back to Haven Hollow it is like going home. Each book has a different character featured. The characters are well written and complex and you really cheer for them. The authors have created a town that has all the feelings of any small town but they are supernatural's. This was a fun read that I couldn't put down. I laughed so hard through out , I mean Taliyah making it snow in her living room alone is so funny, I really enjoyed this story so if you want a fun read check it out

Happy Friday all

Good afternoon all and welcome to the deep freeze here on the farm. Today I have for you book 2 in the Trailer Park Vampire series. HILLBILLIES AND HELL HOUNDS by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain.

                            BOOK BLURB

There’s never a dull day in Windy Ridge.

When I’m not trying to play mama to a restless and spirited teenager, I’m out in the woods trying to round up monsters.

And let’s not even bring up my love life—something that’s been nonexistent for years. That is until an old flame from high school decides to step back into my life. And my heart.

The only thing is… Sheriff Dean Hawke (the above-mentioned old flame) seems to be hiding his own secrets. Whenever I try to bring up his past, he deflects or ignores the subject altogether. And that’s definitely one of those things that makes you go hmmm…

Of course, I can’t think on the secretive sheriff for long. Not when things in Windy Ridge are getting downright infernal, with random fires popping up all over the danged place.

Quick to pick up the scent of the burning trail, I’ll find myself in the big city, the sheriff by my side, as we try to get to the bottom of the mystery of the burned-out remains of the Thatcher house.

In the process, I might just be able to put to bed one of the sheriff’s own mysteries.

All in a night’s work by Windy Ridge’s own vampire waitress and monster hunter…

                       MY REVIEW
Welcome back to Windy Ridge, Twila and the boys are out hunting monsters, finding new ones each day. Sheriff Dean is helping out and he is hiding secrets of his own. When things start to get hot literally with fires popping up all over. Twila and Dean are on the hunt to figure out what is happening with the fires Will they get to the bottom of the fires and will Twila get to the bottom of the sheriff's secrets.

Twila and the gang are back and honestly funnier then ever. Twila is just as kick butt as ever and is getting into more trouble. I mean getting shot with buckshot and then bent over a table well you get the picture.  One funny hilarious thing after another happens to poor Twila and she bounced back feistier then ever.  Dean is well he is a man with secrets but he is still sexy and sweet with a little bit of devil in him to make you want in your life. Sicily is a fire ball she is one cool cookie and wants to help out wherever she can but like everyone else she is hiding secrets from her mother. You will love her and want to wrap her up in a blanket and tell her everything will be ok. These are such fun characters and each one the characters grow and get more and more complex

This is one of those books that is just a fun book to read . I love those kind of books after a long day of well almost anything. The characters are well written and the story is just fun to read. I mean when you have someone picking buck shot of your butt over a kitchen table just sent me off into fits of giggles. The authors have a great way of building the story and the characters. This is one of those series that will have you rolling in your seat all the way through and also wanting to wrap up a few characters in warm blankets and hugging them and telling them everything will be ok .If you want a fun mystery with a bit of romance check out this series for your Christmas reading list .

HAPPY RELEASE DAY

Good morning peeps, hope things are going well. Today I have a new book for you from a brand new author . SHADES OF NIGHT (Night Order book one) by Rachael Boucker.

                             BOOK BLURB

Fated for greatness; Destined for pain.

A prophecy of beauty, untold power and the strength to save them all.

They said I was destined to save every witch, my entire race, but life is never that cut-and-dried. I am Aramay Shenade, or Shade for short.

After a demon attack left me scarred, the Night Order elders declared the prophecy was broken, discarded and my destiny along with it. No longer tied to fate, my sister Dellena and I, chose our own path, cutting down every demon that crossed it. That was until the fateful day I pulled the demon-cursed Nora from the mud and the world around us began to unravel. War is upon us and the demons are gathering.

Now I must walk the path of a destiny I thought had abandoned me. Will I be able to correct the tides of war before the demons destroy us all? I can only hope those I hold dearest will not be sacrificed in the struggle.

                     MY REVIEW
Aramay has been told that she was destined to save every witch, but life is never that easy. After being attacked by a demon the Night Order declared the prophecy broken and threw her away and her destiny with it.  Now that they aren't tied to a destiny it is time to choose their own path, so along with her sister  Dellena they are off to kill every demon that crosses their path. Now they are walking the path that was denied her and war is coming. Will they be able to correct the past mistakes or will they be sacrificed in the struggle .

There are a wide range of characters in this story. Aramay aka Shade is sympathic loving person who is fighting some internal demons of her own. Like she is having a hard time with body issues and how to keep her destiny going. Dellena well she brings the humor to the group even if it is a little caustic. She was fun to see how she interacts with others that she meets. Each character was very well written and complex in their own rights. Nora was one of those characters that you really don't know what will happen with her .  Nora is a difficult one to read.

This is a dark gritty novel that really wasn't what I thought it was. The story is so much darker then I expected it to be. We are thrown right into the action from the first page and it doesn't let up. There are some really kick butt characters that you get to meet through out the book. You will be flipping through the book so fast and on the edge of your seat most of the time. There are some triggers in this book of sexual assaults, torture, violence and death. If any of those bother you this might not be the book for you. There are so many twists and turns through out this book that will have you entertained for hours. I truly enjoyed this book and this author's way of writing. So, if you want a good fantasy book with amazing characters check it out.

GOOD MORNING ALL

Good morning everyone, hope your week is going well. It is frigid here on the farm today a great day to curl up and read. Today I have for you book 23 in the Haven Hollow series, PAN'S DELIGHT by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain

                        BOOK BLURB

The cold touch of winter has hit Haven Hollow…

Something naughty is plaguing the mundanes of Haven Hollow lately.

‘Naughty’ as in dancing curses that leave the victim exhausted and even injured, every milk product in town souring for no apparent reason, and elf-knots that are nearly impossible to brush out of your hair…

After deciding these curses are fae created, we call in Prince Reynard, the Prince of the Autumn Court, otherwise known as Fox Aspen.

The only problem? Fox is currently waging his own war with our Chief of Police, Taliyah, who is meant to be Fox’s intended but won’t have anything to do with him or his marriage proposal.

As if that weren’t enough to put us all on edge, Finn is challenging my ability to be a cool, calm, and collected mother. Even though he means well, every time he tries to help someone, he’s left exhausted, pale, and sickly. And I’m getting more and more concerned.

With questions about Finn’s magician abilities, I turn to the only person who can provide answers—a man I haven’t seen in five months but one who has dominated my thoughts every day since.

Alixandre Osmont, the English magician, otherwise known as Andre...

Between trying to decipher who is behind the fae pranks, battling my teenage son, and trying to keep my feelings in check for a certain British magician, I’ve got my hands full and then some.

                       MY REVIEW

Poppy and the gang are back and trying to figure out why people are getting hurt from dancing or waking up with knots in their hair. With all that going on, Poppy is also trying to deal with Finn's new power and the fact that he is getting exhausted by healing people. He is also your typical teenager with attitude. There is one person that can help her out Andre the magician, will she be able to hang on to her heart and figure out what is going on in Haven Hollow before people really start to get hurt.

Ok, I love these characters very much but this time I really couldn't figure Poppy out. Usually, she is a very strong feisty woman who doesn't let things get to her. This time I felt she was like a teenager who was trying to figure out who she should date. It was a little redundant about her always saying I have a boyfriend all the time. When push comes to shove though she does come through and fight for those she loves. Finn really becomes a teenager and a person in his own right. He does start to grow up and want to help people the way his mom and friends do. We also get the rest of the town back also. Andre is back to help out Finn and maybe fall in love with Poppy. Marty well he is still the good guy that you can count on to help out.

I read this book in an evening, I really like the Haven Hollow series. It is like going home to a small town with great characters that you know and love. With each book we see Haven Hollow change and grow with each new addition to the town. We get to see the characters grow and live. I truly liked this book, but I did have a bit of trouble getting into the story. I felt like it wasn't the best book in the series, but it was still a good story. Overall, I enjoyed this   book and can't wait till the next book comes out. Check out the series and laugh your way through the holidays.

GOOD MORNING

'Good morning peeps and hope your hump day is going well. Today I have for you the newest book by VJ Lee, DECK THE HALS.

                            BOOK BLURB

Halston (Hals) Armond’s Christmas story is not a sweet, blissful tale of pleasant, happy times filled with light, love, and laughter. His story is one of haunted dreams, memories of blurred evil images, and the dark corners where monsters lived. Now that the monsters from his past have been kind of vanquished, it’s time to go after the Devil the monsters sold him to, even if that means using the Devil’s daughter against him. Hals will stop at nothing to put his painful past to rest, and realizes this could be his last Christmas … and well, he’s made peace with that.

Bliss Murphy is her father’s right-hand woman, working for the family business … the same business she vowed to tear apart. Her mission is to save every soul her father has bought and tortured. Her first save was her hardest to get over, and every day those blue eyes haunt her—more than anyone knows. When her father forces her to work alongside the man she saved, she’s not sure if it’s her heart that she’s worried about losing, or revealing all her secrets and losing everything.

With the Devil, tainted souls, secrets upon secrets, murder, and mayhem, this Christmas may be the bloodiest yet. Or if they survive with their lives and souls intact, it could be the first blissful one they ever had.
Can their Christmas story be rewritten?

***This book may be triggering to some. There is abuse, sex trafficking, drug addiction, an evil Santa, knives, blood, murder, and an old lady in a leather catsuit.
I understand if you don’t think you can read any further and have to move on to your next read, but these things have made Halston Armond the man he is today, and honestly, he finds a piece of himself he didn’t know was missing. ***
                    My Review
Halston Armond's has had a life that you could not even dream about in your worst nightmare. As a young man he was sold to a trafficking ring, by of all people his father and uncle.  He did it to save his cousin from the same fate. After years of abuse, he is saved by an angel, who he could never forget. Until the day that he comes face to face with the man who was his capture and his daughter, the one who saved him. Bliss Murphy is the dream that he has but she is hiding a secret and with Hals wanting to help destroy her father. Will they survive the Christmas season of destruction and come out the other side with their hearts and souls intact.  Or will this be Hals last Christmas.
Ok I am going to admit it here right now, I kind of have a crush on Hals. He is such a strong man with a fighting spirit. He may be a broken man, but he has a heart of gold buried deep down inside. When he loves. he loves with his whole heart and will protect those he loves. He is also very flawed from what happened to him, and you just want to hug him and tell him everything will be ok.  Bliss is well she is a strong woman who is fighting for her life and the lives for those that her father traffics. She is playing a dangerous game, but she has help from those that are loyal to her. She is strong willed and feisty, at first you won't like her very much she comes off as a stiff kind of person, but when we get to see her with others, we see a loving emotional woman who would do anything for anyone she loves.                            We also get to meet some new characters and some not so new characters make an appearance. Kels, Lennox and Ruby make an appearance and will make you laugh so hard. We also get to meet Ryder the hot biker who is helping with the rescuing of all the potential trafficked women and children. He has a, you can't really trust him vibe. He is just well sex on a stick. We also get to meet Piper a sweet woman who has seen some horrors in her life and is trying to get her life together again.
This is one of these books that when you start you will not put it down. I was kind of leery to start Halston's book because I knew that he was messed up from another book. I was hoping that we would get to know him better and boy did we ever. We see him at his worst and at his best. We get to see him shaken to his core and then coming back and fighting for those he loves. The author took time with bringing his story to life and she did a very good job.  This isn't your typical Christmas story, there is a lot of hurt and pain that the characters have to work through. I will tell you though there could be some triggers for some people, bloodplay, abuse and sex trafficking. If you have a sensitivity to these this might not be the book for you. If you want a book that handles those activities with a sensitivity and care this could be the book for you. Also, if you want a good laugh check out grandma in a leather catsuit kicking some butt. Ok just to let you know I laughed so hard at Ruby in a leather catsuit kicking them in the balls over and over. If you want a great book to read over the holidays check it out.

GOOD MORNING, ALL

Good morning my peeps hope your Tuesday is going well. Hope your Christmas prep is going well. Today I have the third book in the Crown of Lies series. THE KINGDOM OF DECEIT by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain

                             BOOK BLURB

After returning to Woodfall Gath and Nicolo learning the truth about what I am and what I was sent to the Gath to do, I find myself in a grave situation…

‘Grave’ as in I’m being sent to the castle dungeons where I’ll be left to rot.

Or worse.

One thing every assassin learns early on is never to get caught. And if you do get caught, get out.

So, that’s exactly what I do. And when I escape, I find myself landing in the hands of one very unlikely ally—Duke Wylder.

Now helping to lead Wylder’s rebellion against King Balduin, I’m also firmly on Nicolo’s opposing side.

And while I want to believe that the Nicolo I loved in Simnel is still somewhere within ‘The Terrible,’ and I want to trust that Nicolo will see the wrong in Balduin, I might be making a huge mistake.

                                  MY REVIEW
After coming back to Woodfall Gath, Charlotte is in a heap of trouble. she has told Nicolo what is happening and what she was paid to do. Things go from bad to worse as Charlotte is taken to the dungeon but like any good assassin, she escapes and ends up helping the rebellion against King Balduin, while trying to help Nicolo remember what he was like in Simmel and not the man he is now. Will they be able to get back what they had or will the king win.

Charlotte and Nicolo are back and more complex. Charlotte is well she is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Charlotte is fighting for her very life and the life of the man she loves. She is one tough cookie and will do what is right for all those she cares about. Now Nicolo on the other hand has basically done a 180 turn around and seems to be as mean as ever. He is torn between his best friend and the woman he loves. He is one complex dude one moment you are loving him and the next moment you want to smack him upside the head with a frying pan. I truly love these two characters; they are very well written and complex.

This is the last book in the series, and I couldn't wait to read it. The authors really put the characters through a lot of pain in this last book.  There is a lot more fighting scenes throughout this book. We also get to see some sweet moments between the characters as we find out more about the people with violet eyes and their special talents. This is a series that will have you believing in the power of love and what it can do. If you want a series that will have you on the edge of your seat and loving some romance check it out .

Good evening peeps, today is the last book in this years reader round up. We are ending with EMMA AND THE WEEPING SPIR|IT by Mathew Cox

                         BOOK BLURB

Ten-year-old Emma has battled dark creatures and protected her home from errant magic, but an unexpected letter brings her scariest trial yet―attending a wedding in Calebrin.

Da’s younger sister has invited them for her ceremony, but Emma dreads the huge city, its strange people, uncomfortable fancy clothes, and worst of all: shoes. Her anxiety builds when Nan refuses to go, filling her head with worries about what could be wrong with her father’s side of the family.

On Emma’s first night in Calebrin, spectral crying wakes her. She creeps out of bed to discover a forlorn spirit wandering the halls, who seems to be trying to warn Emma of danger. Alas, Da’s prim and proper mother has a low opinion of druids, and an even lower opinion of Mama. His younger brother takes particular delight in tormenting Emma, and her efforts to assist the spirit only annoy him more.

She suspects something far darker than an arrogant uncle lurks in the giant manor house where her father grew up. No longer afraid, Emma tries to help the ghost—before she becomes one herself.

                      MY REVIEW
Emma and her family are back and things have improved for the family a little. Emma and the kids have their own room now and they are thriving in their small home with mom and dad. Mom is busy healing people and Emma is helping. Until the day they get an invitation to come to da's family home for a wedding. Where, Emma just feel comfortable with what she has to wear and most of all she doesn't like her uncle, he keeps trying to harm her. When a spirit keeps haunting Emma, she knows there could be a darker, sinister going on. With the help of the ghost Emma is on the way to finding out what happened and maybe help the ghost to figure out what is going on
Emma is back and she is growing up. She is finding her way in the world and helping her mother out more and more. She is strong and resilient. She is ready to fight. We also get to meet dad's family in this book and man they are strange. Grandma doesn't like the girls. Emma doesn't want to be there with the creepy uncle and the grandma who doesn't like her. These characters are so much fun to read they are so well written. You will fall in love with this family.
This is book five in the series and yes, I know it is for middle school age children but as an adult it is an enjoyable read. The characters are well written, and the author doesn't dumb down the pace of the story. I truly enjoyed this series and would recommend them to anyone wanting a fun series, Check it out for your middle school kid or even for yourself.

BOOK 12 IS UP FOR READER ROUND UP

Good morning peeps hope your week is going great. Today I have for you FORBIDDEN SCRIPT book 2 by Kali Willows.

                              BOOK BLURB

When a psychic loses her clairvoyance, how can she protect herself or the ones she loves? With dangerous accidents happening at every turn, Elora and Brennen find themselves in a race against the evil descending upon them.

In book 2 of the Forbidden Script series, Elora Roberts finds herself at odds, without her guides or her gifts, and facing imminent danger. Fleeing to Toronto with actor and director Brennen Wentworth to hide from a sadistic predator, their romance heats up, but so does the peril tailing them. Soon they’re faced with deadly terror on and off screen of Brennen’s biopic film.

Despite the burning attraction between them, this is no typical love story. Turning to mentors from her past, can Elora unravel the messages from beyond in time to end the carnage, or will she be too late to stop the evil descending on them?
                    MY REVIEW
Elora and Brennen are fleeing to Toronto after her house has burnt to the ground. She is at odds with herself. She is without her guides and her gift. Brennen is a god send to her and helping her hide from the terror that is haunting her. Together they must figure out who is haunting them both and will the passion they share be able to keep them safe enough to figure out who is behind the evil following them.
Elora and Brennen are back fighting an unknown evil haunting them. Elora is well she isn't working at full speed without her powers, she feels lost and not in control. She is stronger than she knows and when push comes to shove, she will do anything to save those she loves. Brennen is there to protect her from the start. He is stronger than they both realize, and he is her rock when things start to fall apart. They have such a strong chemistry, and they can't deny what is between them.
This book starts right where book one left off. The two of them heading to Toronto to hide from the crazy person trying to kill them.  The author puts her main characters through a lot and we get to see how they will react and get out of the spot. There is so much going on in this story. We have a mystery. intrigue and romance all in the backdrop of Toronto.  Overall, I enjoyed this book, but I did feel like the ending kind of left me wanting more, felt like there were some holes that need to be filled hopefully in book three. Overall, this is a fun fast read that will have you on the edge of your seat most of the time. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

GOOD MORNING IT IS BOOK ELEVEN IN READER ROUNDUP

Good morning my peeps, welcome to hump day and book eleven in the reader roundup. Today's book is TIED UP IN SIN by Aubree Valentine.

                           BOOK BLURB

Welcome to Sinner's Sanctum, where your darkest desires come to life.

I may have been born into Sin, but this was never the life I envisioned for myself. That was until my military career quite literally blew up in my face. Now I'm forced to find a new sense of normal and joining the family business seems like the next best move.

Bringing Sinner's Sanctum to life allows me the one thing I truly crave: control.

Inside these walls, I'm the one in charge. Always.

But when a woman from my past comes kneeling at my feet, control is the very last thing I feel.

Carly has no idea what she's in for, even though I tried to warn her.

I guess there's only one way for her to learn, and that's by being tied up in sin.

                   MY REVIEW
Kane was a military man until the day his life blew up in his face and now, he runs sinner's sanctum a club where your darkest desires come to life. He is making the club a success and when the one that got away walks back into his life. His life is flipped for the better. When his friend goes missing, will Carly understand his need for saving her and his need for control. Will Carly give him what he needs, or will she bolt like she did two years ago.
Kane is a man who likes control and needs control, he wants to keep everyone that he cares about safe. He is an alpha all the way broody and sexy. He knows what he wants, and his kinks are ones of rope, control and maybe a bit of a breeding kink. Carly is the one that got away, but she is back and wanting more. Carly is sexy and confident, but she is also hiding a dark secret that made her bolt. She can also be a brat whenever she can. They are a hot couple who can't stay away from each other.
This is a short read that you can read in an evening. The characters are fun to read, wish they were a little bit more complex, but they are well written. The story is a second chance romance with a bdsm flavor. I enjoyed this story, but I wish it could of been a little longer so we could really get to know the characters and also get more one the mystery side also. Overall, I truly enjoyed this story and want to read about the rest of the family. If you want a fast hot read this winter check it out. You will melt the snow reading this book.

TIME FOR BOOK TEN IN READER ROUND UP

Good morning peeps, hope your week is going well. Today I have book three in the Custos series. THE BOOK OF MYSTERIES by Savannah Verte

                           book blurb

Twins Poppy and Bergie share everything, including an ability to read the mysterious book that Bergie gets Mardi Gras Day when the Muddy Graws debut in the Rex parade. Two potential Keepers makes double the work for the Custos guardian, who can’t be two places at once. Poppy’s book grab from its hiding place in a fit of anger potentially changes everything and could shift the balance between light and dark.

Sebastian Winder has his hands full. The new Keeper has a twin who knows more than she should, and who is actively interacting with a member of White Diamond. 1920 can’t come fast enough. Fearing the inevitable worst, the guardian asks for an assistant. Who he gets, is Ramsby Roth, a fresh from the Farther Fields, greener than green Custos with no experience.

In this third installment, it might take every one available to keep the book from the wrong hands as the odds are stacking against them. Just when they think the end is in sight, World War I erupt, Bergie is sent to serve, and Carnival festivities in New Orleans are cancelled. What if there’s no Mardi Gras?

How can they keep the book safe now, or get it to the new Keeper? Only the book knows.

                               MY REVIEW
Bergie and Poppy are twins share everything, including reading from the book that Bergie gets from Mardi Gras. With two potential keepers has the Custos working overtime trying to keep them safe. With the book grabbed in anger will that change everything between the light and the dark. They are pulling fresh recruits in to help but will they be able to get the book to the right person. Or will the dark succeed.

All the characters are back, and we get to meet the new keepers. Bergie well he is a sweet kid who feels like he wants to belong cause his sister is really opinionated and also his twin. They are like your typical twins they fight; they get on each other's nerves but when push comes to shove, they are there for each other. They are strong in their own right and will do anything to keep each other safe. Rourke is back and working his butt off trying to keep the keepers safe. We also get to meet a new guardian Ramsby Roth a brand-new recruit. He is keen but not sure exactly what he needs to do. Each character has grown and become more and more complex and even the newer characters are well written.

For the third book in the series, we really get a more action-packed book. The author has upped her game in this installment. The story takes on a more edgy story.  We get to see more action in the Custos this time around with the characters working overtime. There are lots of twists and turns throughout the book that will keep you on your toes. I think this series would be great for your teen and you to read. Check out this series you will not be disappointed.

                             BOOK BLURB

Adelia Hemstock’s tenure as Keeper cannot end fast enough. She’s been looking over her shoulder since day one and she’s sure she recognizes a few faces in the crowd now. When the book is taken from the safest place she knows, Adelia comes face to face with a new reality, and her Custos.

Rourke Templest has secretly guarded the book, and Adelia, for more than half of her lifetime. In the wrong place at the wrong time, the book is taken on his watch and he must emerge from the shadows to reclaim it, or get Adelia to New Orleans and secured. If White Diamond has the book, they absolutely cannot have the only person currently able to read it.

The feisty Keeper Rourke has only known from a distance until now, is a complication to the job that must be done. With only forty-eight hours to act, Adelia’s world turns upside down as they race to recover the book leaving a trail of murder, conspiracy, cover up, and chaos in their wake.

Can they recover it in time? Not even the Keeper knows.
                    MY REVIEW
Adelia's time as keeper of the book is about to come to an end. Adelia has been looking over her shoulder for way too long and now that her time is coming to an end, new faces are starting to pop up all over the place. Until the day the book is taken and her and Rourke have to find the book so it can be passed on to the next guardian. Will they be able to do it or will the white diamond or the world will be turned upside down.
Adelia is a wonderful character; she is sweet and kind, but she is also feisty and stronger than she realizes.   Rourke has been taking care of the book for almost all of her life and for most of it he has been hidden in the shadows. He is a tough guy with a heart of gold who is willing to do anything to get the book back from the White Diamonds. They are very well written and you will love them and you want them to succeed and find their lives after the book. We also get to see more of the member of the White Diamond who are well trying everything to get the book. They are out for themselves to change the world. Each character is well written and complex.
This is one of those books that you will get lost in. The author paints an epic back drop in New Orleans, the story unfolds, and we get taken for an emotional ride throughout her life. I really got sucked into the story and the characters and I loved how it ended. I can't wait to see how things go in book three. If you want a great series that has the balance of good and evil at the for front check it out.
