GOOD SATUDAY EVERYONE

Good Saturday everyone. Today we are reviewing BLOSSOM by CATHY JACKSON

                      BOOK BLURB
We had come so far from when we first met. She would shy away from me, from my touch. Her husband, Charles, both mentally and physically abused her.
With his death, Phoenix could finally heal and start blooming. I try not to show the hurt I feel when she sees Charles when she looks at me. I am her husband now and the care and devotion I have for her will win her to me.
I hope…

                         MY REVIEW
This book starts right after John and Phoenix's wedding. Phoenix has come a long way but still is not comfortable with John and well everyone. They head off to their honeymoon. Where while John is so in love with his wife that he will do anything and I mean anything to help her come into her own. Even if it means doing something that he doesn't want to do.
I fell in love with Phoenix in the first book and in this book I fell for her even more. She is such a broken fragile woman who has come a long way. But the violence of her past is still there haunting her. You see her struggle and heal as you read the book. You will also fall in love with John all over again also. He is such a sweet and loving man. The man you really want to take home to mom. He is gentle, loving , sweet and kind . He would do anything for the person that he loves . But he does have a few insecurities of his own. He does the ultimate thing to help his wife.  They grow as a couple and grow as individuals in this book. They do find their happiness .
The author takes us on a journey of healing and hope. What someone you love would do to help you heal. I did do a bit of crying through this book. Like all of Cathy's books , tears will be shed both happy and sad. She writes with a passion that will take your breath away. Her characters are so well written and honesty. They make you love them . Cathy writes with such care and love, She will take you to an area in your heart where you will laugh and cry . You can feel it as you read, the passion and the love she has for what she writes. This is a book of love, redemption and what would you do for the person you love to help them heal. So if you want to read a sweet series check it out . I know you won't be disappointed

good Friday all .

Good Friday all  wow can't believe that its almost the end of February. So today we are reviewing SHADOWS A Jake Somers Novel by Dan Castle

                       BOOK BLURB
Winner of the 2014 Feathered Quill Book Award in the Cozy Mystery category, SHADOWS: A Jake Somers Novel follows the dangerous path that a woman's life takes in response to the evil forced upon her as a child. The effect of her tortured experience is illuminated when a beautiful young girl's body is discovered behind the office building that houses the Jake Somers Detective Agency. And then, when multiple murders occur across the city, and under similar circumstances, P.I. Jake Somers crime solving expertise is called upon by the police to help catch a serial killer. No problem, death on a college campus, illegal synthetic drugs and a maniacal murderer are all in a days' work for Jake Somers.

                MY REVIEW
I was blown away when I started reading this book. Finally a detective book written the way detective books are suppose to be written . I have been bored for awhile about detective books until I got this one. I couldn't put this one down. Meet Jake Somers P.I , he is put to work after a young girl is found dead behind his offices . He is drawn into the life of a serial killer and the world of  illegal synthetic drugs and deaths on the college campus. But will he survive to figure out what and who is doing the killing

The characters in this novel are a very colorful group. Jake's mom and girlfriend are at the for front but the character I absolutely loved was Maria the receptionist , she seems to be the only one that is holding Jake together. The scene in the hospital room where Josie is placed after she fell and broke her hip was full of wedding caterers, he just throws his hands up and walks out . The characters are very well written and you laughed and cried with them . Maria holds everyone together when Jake's life starts to spiral out of control as he investigates the illegal synthetic drug trade . The author worked his characters very well and you will love all of them very much
The author did a very good job when he did he research on the drug industry especially the synthetic drug trade. Wow who knew there was that much synthetic drugs out there . The twists and turns were off the wall . One minute I had it figured out and the next min I was like WTH and oh my god moments . There are some very and I mean very intense parts in the book. They were offset wit h all the funny moments of the wedding planning. I was glad I really took a chance on this book . It was a great weekend read , or a good afternoon read on a snowy cold afternoon. So if you want to check out a good detective novel and have a couple of laughs along the way check it out

GOOD WEDS MORNING EVERYONE

Good Wednesday everyone , hope your hump day is going well.. Today I get to review the book
BONNER'S FAIRY by Elizabeth Patterson.

                    BOOK BLURB

So far, life has been pretty ordinary and dull for fifteen-year-old twins Haley and Henry Miles. But after their father purchases a large estate in northwestern Idaho, they are thrilled to begin a new adventure in the mountains. Little do they know that their lives are about to change forever.

As soon as Haley and Henry are introduced to the diverse group of mysterious characters that inhabit the small town of Bonner's Ferry, they learn of a tragedy hundreds of years ago that spawned the kind of legend that has always kept the locals wary and suspicious. It is not long before the twins stumble upon a map and an unusual key that leads them through a portal to another time, and a world filled with mystical creatures.

                          MY REVIEW
I started this book one evening and got hooked by the second chapter . It starts in the mid 19 century with Zeb Bonner . And then bounces to the modern day with Haley and Henry Miles . Who are longing for an adventure. After their dad buys a piece of real estate in northwestern Idaho. Their lives are changed forever . They are introduced to a very diverse and mysterious people of Bonner's  Ferry. As they find a key and map that will lead them to a world filled with  mythical creatures.
The author created some fabulous characters. The main characters are well written . Haley is the mature one. She is the thinker and she loves her brother so much. Henry on the is the protector and is easily distracted as he has such a taste for adventure . But he will not do anything stupid. You will like them in the beginning but as the story goes on you will fall in love with them.
The author takes us on a great adventure ride full of fantasy and mystery. Ultimately it is a book about good versus evil and the power struggle that ensues . The good fairies are fighting the evil ones . There is also just a bit of romance but that isn't the main focus of the book. The adventure and the fantasy worlds are so well written. They will take you away to a time and a place as we as children wanted to go . I was I little upset that it was a cliff hanger . So I guess I will just have to keep reading . This book is written for the tween crowd. But as an adult I really enjoyed  the fantasy . I got lost in the book as I was reading . So if you liked Harry Potter you will truly enjoy this book. So give it a chance I know you won't be disappointed .

Good Saturday morning all . Hope you are all staying toasty warm out there. We are at minus 30 something on the farm today so another day of staying inside and curling up with  a good book, Today I have the honor of reviewing CHASING SHADOWS ,(A Brita Madison paranormal Mysteries series book 1) by Dannye Williamsen and Sandy Wolters

                        BOOK BLURB

Brita Madison has found a sanctuary in Williams, Arizona, a refuge from the multitude of visions and voices that have chased her all her life. Then one vision touches her soul, and she finds herself embroiled in the middle of a missing person's case with a woman’s life at stake. Little does she know that this is only the beginning.

Brita's visions uncover a trail of murders centered around the historic Route 66. As Brita steps deeper into the world she has been trying to escape, she and Weston are in a race against time to identify the serial killer. This journey threatens to tear apart their lives as well as those closest to them.

                      MY REVIEW

Ever had an author that you can't wait for their next book to come out. That's me when I heard about Sandy's new book that she has co written with Dannye Williamsen.  I was so excited when I got Chasing Shadows . I curled up with a good cup of tea and I started reading and reading . Yes it is a book that once you start you don't want to put it down.  You will get caught up with the mystery and you will fall in love with Brita . She is a psychic that is trying not let the visions get in her way. She has left her home to a small town . She is trying to stop the voices and visions . But alas she is drawn in and helps the sheriff with a what could be a serial killer on the loose . Will they survive to see the killer brought to justice .
This book is quite a ride, you get swept up in the mystery of Brita Madison. This is the first book in the series so we get to meet the characters. Brita, Sam and Sheriff James Weston and the rest of the cast of characters . Sam is the sweet cab driver that Brita meets while she is trying to find the woman from her visions. He is a kind sweet guy that take Brita for who she is . And of course we have the Sheriff James Weston, who is a skeptic but also becomes Brita's friend. They go through a lot together while trying to figure out who the serial killer is. The authors have taken these characters and made them their own. You want Brita as your friend and the men in the book are flawed but yet have hearts of gold and will help you out of any jam. I have a little crush on Sheriff Weston. He is such a great character to read. Along with Brita, you know how she feels from the very beginning of the story . She does so much growing in the book as you read . You see her at first fighting and not wanting to use her special ability. As the story goes on you see Brita grow into a woman that uses her ability to help people instead of shying away of it .
You are dropped into the mystery from the very first page of this book, that this is the first in the series so there is a lot of setting up of characters. There is a little romance but a lot more mystery. The authors take us on a roller coaster ride of emotions . Trust me you will think you have it figured out then bam they take you in a totally different direction. They take you down a road that honestly will be saying WTH  I didn't see that coming. I am hoping to that as they write the series that they a some more romance and maybe even a love triangle, between the three main characters . Or they make a task force involving all the law enforcement men that helped Brita out . I would say for being the first book in the series this was a well written and I so can't wait till the next book is out, I want more Brita, Sam and James. So if you want to read a great first book in a series this is the book for you . If you like paranormal mysteries  this is the book for you. Another hit for Sandy Wolters and Dannye Williamson. So check it out

its Friday

Good Friday everyone. Hope you are all ready for the weekend. I personally will have a stay in the house and reading kind of weekend. Got to love minus 20 temps it makes for great reading.  Today's book is DAWN OF HOPE by Peter Prichard

                                     BOOK BLURB
"Excuse me, young lady. We have the ambulance on their way, and they want to know what happened to Drew Winston." "He said he was going to rape me," Dawn replied purposefully to the administrative assistant in the high-school office. "I pushed him away and tripped him, and as he fell, he hit his head on the corner of a water fountain, which was not my intent. He's bleeding from his head and is in convulsions." Within twenty-four hours of beginning her senior year at Fair Shore High School as a new student, Dawn Mortenson had chosen to fight the town's acceptance of the bullying and sexual abuse of young women by confronting Drew Winston, the school's All-American quarterback. Following that confrontation, she received multiple death threats, so her mother had to hire a security firm to protect herself and her daughter. That move did not work, as Dawn was kidnapped soon afterwards and ended up in the hospital. When Dawn had been released from the hospital, she had already gained a national reputation, which attracted more people who wanted her dead. She survived the bombing of a building she was visiting, which prompted FBI involvement. She stunned the agent who interviewed her, when in answer to his question about people who would like her killed, she was able to provide evidence of over fifty individuals who had specifically threatened her-including a police officer from her hometown, who had told her that he hoped the next attempt on her life would succeed. Dawn also clashed at times with those who even supported her efforts. A reporter in town had presented himself as someone who wanted to help. In describing why the culture of rape, bullying, and abuse has been tolerated in town, he ended with the statement, "Everybody is seen as winning, male and female alike. It is a great American success story. Fair Shore residents have paid top dollar to join the winning team and are disinclined to raise any questions about the unsavory practices that support its continuation. There is a feeling that 'boys will be boys.'" In response, Dawn exploded, "And you choose to support this? Goddamn you. Goddamn all of you. Let's only hope, Mr. Bruschi, that the success of this 'everybody-wins' model spreads to towns all across America. Let's only hope that, within a few years, tens of thousands of young women can be treated the Fair Shore way and be raped without comment, so that 'boys can be boys.'" As she turned and headed toward the door, Joseph moved quickly to stop her. "Dawn, don't leave." "Go to hell. I thought there was hope with you because of some of the writing you've done. That series you did on the woman who overcame severe automobile injuries and resumed her career as an engineer after everybody said she would never work again was powerful." "She is a remarkably brave young lady." "And there are a lot of them out there, but your silence is ensuring that they will have to fight that much harder to create the stories they were born to tell." Dawn's battle against the status quo lands a number of friends and enemies either in the hospital, in jail, or in an early grave. She uses rock-and-roll through befriending high-school band members who write their own lyrics that challenge the status quo, along with a combination of personal courage and mental toughness, to change the town forever, although at a huge personal cost.

MY REVIEW
When I read the synopsis for this book, I was very intrigued . Why you ask well this girl has been through so much and came back swinging. Dawn, a young girl who with her mom move to a small town. Where on her first day of school is confronted with the quarterback of the football team Where he harasses her and she defends herself. Which causes him to hit his head and end up in the hospital  Which doesn't sit well with the entire town, she is made to be an outcast and a target for the whole football team. But she doesn't take things lying down as she fights back

This is a book that took me totally by surprise, the characters are so real to life . You can sit there and go I know a girl like Dawn and you know the arrogant football players . You know the ones who think that just cause they play football they are gods. The main character Dawn is a strong character. She isn't a wimpy little girl that bows down to the peer pressure. She fights back and doesn't let them get her down. Even when they threaten her family she fights back. There are some really good characters . Dawn's mother is a fighter and will help Dawn out in her daughters fight to bring down the pigs that wanted to hurt her. There are a  couple of good friends that stand by Dawn even when they are being harassed and hurt just for being Dawn's friends. They do stand by her and in the end

This is a book that opens your eyes to the cruelties of high school. The way that athletes are treated
like gods and rule the school. They think that they can get away with anything. There is much more going on like underage drinking and partying. The author takes us on a roller coaster ride that will make you open your eyes and realize that this goes on in our schools today. That there is a uneven playing field when it comes to the way some people are treated. I started this book when it was in the news about a rash of college football players being charged with the rape of young women. So that made me really think about what is going on when the young woman is harassed and made to feel the worst about herself, while these men were getting away with it. What does it mean when they hold athletes above all others . I think that parents of young women and every young woman out there . Should read this book to just get a idea of what could happen out there in the big bad world . So if you want a good book about the power to fight back . Check it out . I know you won't be disappointed

good morning all

Good day everyone . hope you are all having a great week and staying warm. Today we are reviewing  a great new book by Patti Larsen. GIRL INCREDIBLE (Kit Maclean book 1)

                       BOOK BLURB
Her CIA bosses think she’s the bomb. Kitalia Ore is positive of that fact.

Okay, fine. Kitten MacLean. And they’re her parents, but it’s so much more fun to imagine them the other way around. And J.J., her MI6 contact? He’s in love with her. Doesn’t matter that her closest confidant, Jimmy Jones, hasn’t spoken a word to her since first grade.

Everyone at school adores her, too. Sure, they might not know it yet, but every single student at Rimtree High is her best friend. Naturally.

She’s just that incredible.

When a new girl is being bullied, it’s time for Kit MacLean to take charge and leave her fantasy world of fearless bravado and easy victories behind. The world outside her CIA missions is far different than she’s used to, and her usual happy-go lucky heart is about to take the beating of a lifetime. But Kit has never backed down from anything in her life and she’s not about to start now.

Time to find out what she’s really made of. Before the bad guys ruin everything.

                            MY REVIEW
First off I have to say I love Patti Larsen. She has taken me places where I never knew I would go. Yes she has done it again with Kit . Kit is a spunky high school girl and she also is brilliant. When thing go wrong she goes to her fantasy world of Kitalia a CIA operative with a physic ability. When she stumbles upon a mystery at school . Will she come out of her fantasy world and not back down from the arch enemy. Well don't count Kit out she may surprise you .

I fell in love with Kit from the very first page. I think that she is a combination on a little bit of everyone. I know I connected with her on so many levels . She is a very bright girl and wants to be everything to everyone . To the point that she blocks out the fact that she was bullied and built up a dream world around it. Her character is brilliantly written. She takes on a life of her own. As she works her way through. The other cast of characters are brilliant. We have the bully that well honestly isn't the bully . The evil genius , which I actually felt sorry for cause well you always feel sorry for their upbringing.  The best friend that hasn't actually talked to Kit since kindergarten.  But deep down you know he really likes her but is too scared to say anything . They all will get into your heart and live there while you read this book. They will also stick with you afterwards.

I will tell you now that this book talks about bullying and trust me its on a grand scale . About half the school is being bullied. Patti takes us on an adventure through one girl's school year and the trials she goes through.  This isn't your old school bullying that is being written about in this book, there is peer pressure to drink and there is the date rape drug in this book . Patti handles it all with a dignity. She doesn't skirt the issue but she writes it and gives it the credit it does deserve , because it is out there and it is in the school.  Patti mixes the fantasy world of Kita and her real world together nicely. You do actual think she was a spy at the beginning
So if you want a book that is totally different then Patti's other books check out Girl Incredible. You wont be disappointed and I would gift this book to all my young nieces. Also to all my friends with preteen and teenage girls. So check it out

WHO NEEDS FIFTY SHADE WHEN YOU CAN READ THIS

Good Monday morning everyone . Hope you all had a great Valentine's day weekend. I did read a great book A WOMAN'S PLEASURE by J.F Kelly. Who cares about fifty shades when I had this book to read .

                            BOOK BLURB
Follow the sizzling hot, yet romantic and sensually sexual adventures of twenty-five very different men as they encounter their first sexual, most erotic, and most sensual experiences in satisfying the desires of women in A Woman's Pleasure.
The erotic adventures of A Woman's Pleasure will carry readers to a new, heightened state of sexual awareness. Each of the many sexual experiences is surrounded by an aura of romance, respect, and mutuality, where both women and men experience total pleasure and complete satisfaction.

Making love is not something you do to someone--it's something you share. Women should be equal players in the sexual encounter. They express their sexuality as intensely as men and should also participate as much as men do in driving the lovemaking experience.

The real-life sensual, sexual, and lovemaking interactions in these stories will empower women to seek sexual fulfillment and show men how to make love so that women will achieve sexual satisfaction.

Men will discover how to give sensual, sexual pleasure to their women and understand that by giving pleasure, they will receive pleasure--which is something that can't be learned from watching porn.

At times, these stories make you blush; other times, they'll leave your heart--and other body parts--throbbing. They are sure to stimulate your senses, stir your thoughts, and inspire your fantasies. More importantly, men and women alike will realize what it means to make love and feel unparalleled pleasure.

This book will help men and women redefine their lovemaking and sexual expression with each other. No matter what age or stage their relationship is at, they can transform their interaction from "what was" and "what is" to "what can be."

There are no fetishes, kinkiness, or control issues involved--but plenty of romance, love, and caring to enjoy foreplay, satisfaction, and afterglow.

                                MY REVIEW
Ok I know everyone went to see the movies this weekend . I stayed home and read a really great book that took me on a ride that I never thought I would go on. This was a caring loving look at the relationships between men and the women they love.
In the book the author writes about 25 real men, yes dare I say real men.  They take us through the sexual pleasures with the women in their lives .
The author writes with such an honesty. I mean imagine a population that have been so saturated with sexual images that we can be numbed by it all. I mean how do most men learn about sex is either from hearing about it in the locker room or from watching porn. So that teaches them that it is for their pleasure alone. Which is so one sided . I can now understand as we as woman are always too tired or have a headache. Because we just don't want to feel unfulfilled when done. These men have taken the art of love making to the next level. They take their time , making sure that their partner is fully satisfied. Sigh, these are the real men that are in every romance book we have read. They are honest and loving men that will blow your socks off .
The book is written in interview form which I think is an added touch. It also dives into some hot fantasies of what both men and woman really want. It also gives us some very valuable information. Like it takes women up to 5 times longer to orgasm then it does a man. It also teaches us that mutual pleasure is the best for both parties . This would be a great book for any young man to read and for couples to read together.  Trust me on this one ladies my hubby reaped the benefits from me reading this book. So if you want a book that will turn you on in the right ways and help out the man in your life , check out the guys of A WOMAN'S PLEASURE . Trust me you won't be disappointed

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ALL

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY everyone. Hope you are all have a great weekend of love .
Today I get the honor of reviewing ILL FATED (book 6 in the Maurin Kincaide series) by Rachel
Rawlings

                                   BOOK BLURB

Some things are destined to end in death. After the first attempt on her life Maurin wasn’t scared. Hell, she was almost flattered. But someone put a price on her head and things are getting complicated. Trouble is brewing in the fae courts and it’s spilling over into Salem. The UnSeelie Dark Guard have answered the call for her head on a platter and people closest to her are disappearing.
Can Maurin master court politics and find her missing men before someone claims the bounty on her head?

                                                MY REVIEW
I was so excited when I got this book. My favorite characters were back and getting into more trouble then its worth. Cash is back and babysitting Maurin as someone wants to kill her. Her hot hunky and most drool worthy boyfriend, Mason is still the head of the STPD. Aiden is still pining for Maurin but has Ryanne. So what does a girl do. Now there is a new threat on Maurin's head and everyone is trying to keep her safe and as we know Maurin will not take things lying down. The fae courts a fighting and its spilling all over Salem . And the dark guard is after Maurin and they want her head. On top of that her dog, her father and her man are missing . Can she find them without loosing her head and will she get the swing of court politics before they are doomed. Just all in a day's work for our Maurin
Like I said I was so happy when I found this was out. I picked up and started reading right away. Was so happy to get my fix of one my favorite series characters . I love me some Mason and Cash.
But digress. Rachel makes you feel like these characters are like part of your family. They just get under your skin and you want to help them out anyway you can. I feel like Cash is the big brother trying to keep you in you place and keep you safe. Aiden is the cool neighbor that comes in and just makes life difficult. Getting into trouble with you while trying to hit on you at the same time . Amelia is you best friend that you want to have fun with but still need to trust her . I mean I can see all of these characters as part of my life. She also brings back a very bad character and adds a couple of others . We even see a couple of zombies trying to take out a chunk of our Maurin. You will laugh and you will shed a tear or two . But most of all you will be cheering for all of them. Not going to say anymore cause I will blow the ending for you. And trust me the last pages are happy dance moments .
Rachel just gets better with each book in the series. This book will take you on a ride with some twists and turns . The story will keep you reading all night long . I did get a book hang over from reading this book. I did read it in a day, it was that good. Trust me from the very first page to the very last page, you will be drawn in. Ill Fated is packed full of hot werewolves, vampires, fae. Love, friendship and oh yes a kidnapping and a price on her head. Now if that doesn't make you want to read then I don't know what will. Oh yeah the zombies . So if you want a great series please
check out the MAURIN KINCAIDE SERIES and a if you have read the first five check out ILL FATED trust me you will not be disappointed at all .

As Death incarnate, Sin has the unique ability to alter the Death Design—the pattern that decides who should die, and when.

Good Thursday all

Good morning world , hope your Thursday is treating you well. Today I have the honor of reading and reviewing BLESSED OF THE GODS (Aumelan book one) by Charlene Wilson.

                                                BOOK BLURB
Chad is in love, but the world isn’t right – not when you’re forbidden to have the one you desire just because she’s your slave. His vitality host, Dae, has held his heart since they were both children. He must find a way to set her free if he’s ever to know if she wants him too, and that means finding a way to live without her aid. Chad believes the answer lies in the World of the Sun where they originated, not the world of his cavernous home. Fate will guide him, he knows it.

When Salana, Daughter of the Sun Nation, meets Chad, she’s faced with the unbelievable; a man who must take energy from a host to survive. But he’s not the only one. The entire Tsosey Nation is plagued with this unusual need. The strong yet meek Chamber people submitted to serve them through the centuries. Can Salana help this young man whose dreams of freedom could change the course of both nations? And can she do it without falling for him and turning her back on the marriage arranged by her parents?

                                          MY REVIEW
I have to admit something , this is the first book I have read from this author. Now I am kicking myself because I waited for so dang long. This book had me turning pages all night long . I admit it gave me a bit of a book hang over . I mean its a book with two world that are separated by rocks and dirt .  Chad is from below and he is in love with his vitality host. He has been since they were both children . He wants to find the World of the Sun so he can find a way to live with out Dae's help. Where he meets Salana a daughter of the Sun Nation, she decides to help him but like with all great books . She has to fight her feelings for the young man . And what will this mean for both nations.
The characters in this book are very riveting and complex. They take us on an adventure, Chad is a very determined and yet tortured young man. He will do almost anything to find a way to be with the young woman that has captured his heart from the time they were children. He wants to help his people and you see that shine through. Salana's character is a strong character but as a child born of royalty she has traditions to  uphold , which she is not sure if she should be . So when the two characters meet they are out for an adventure and start  traveling down a path that will change their lives. These characters really stood out for me . They both want to help people. They are both strong and they could be your best friend or sister or brother .
This is a story of love , betrayal and deception, you will want to cheer for each and every character . You will go on an adventure ride full of twists and turns and there are some OMG moments that will have you turning pages. The writing is so good and the author can weave a tale . If you haven't read anything by Charlene, this is the book you should start with. I know you will not be disappointed. Charlene is going on my ever growing list of authors to follow and read more of.

good monday everyone

Well all I can saw the flu has finally hit our house. So its been a quiet weekend of reading and basically doing nothing between naps. So I decided to read a YA book called THE KEEPER OR THE WIND  by Mark A Shaw.

                                         BOOK BLURB
When a trio of high school seniors list three ancient artifacts for sale on eBay, professor and archeologist of native artifacts, Mitch Waters, believes he hit the jackpot. But is he concerned more with historical preservation or his own fame and fortune?

Author Mark A. Shaw brings together an unlikely yet entertaining trio of high school seniors, each of a different race and upbringing, who are separated from their senior class during a high school camping trip. On their own in the wilderness, they come across three authentic artifacts in a hidden cave.

The events that unfold once they return to safety and attempt to sell their newfound treasures on eBay intersect modern with ancient worlds, superstition with truth, and trust with trickery. In the tradition of children’s literature classics, The Keeper of the Wind takes readers on a magical and enthralling journey, along which three best friends learn the true meaning of friendship, teamwork, and perseverance.

This page-turning read introduces Mark A. Shaw as a powerful up-and-coming young adult fiction novelist, leaving readers to wonder: Will there be a sequel?

                                      MY REVIEW
This is a great book for kids between the ages of 13 - 16, it combines the friendship of three best friends in their senior year of high school. The kids are of three different racial backgrounds and are the best of friends. They find three native artifacts that they decide to sell on eBay.  Which sends them on a journey where they learn some life lessons on trust team work.
This book I adored , just cause it had some really cool characters. Each with a different racial background and they aren't all in romantic relationships. The author took a lot of care in creating each character. They are very real life characters and you so get transported back to your school days and your best friends. What you did and who your best friends were. The way the author makes us feel about each and every character. Its like you are sitting in class listening to them . Mr. Shaw writes each ethnic background with such care. He did a great job creating each character .
The story kept me turning pages from the first page until the last. You get swept away and as the story goes the better it gets. You are taken on one magical and adventurous ride. You will love the characters and the story line. You will laugh trust me you will laugh. The best line in the book,
DON'T HATE , MASTERBATE well almost fell off the couch , was laughing so hard. The author comes up with some great one liners.  Also fell in love with the Native American history that is weaved into the story. It does have its serious moments and does have some very serious themes. Teaching about tolerance, respect and justice and the prices one must pay. This would be a great story for both girls and boys who love a good story with lots of action and folk lore mixed in. So if you are looking for a great book for a young adult this would be the book for you
I give this book a 4 out 5 novels

GOOD WEDS EVERYONE , HAPPY HUMP DAY

Good Weds everyone , hope you are all staying warm and snuggly with a good book and a great cup of coffee. Today we are reviewing THE STORY OF ORION  book one Weapons by Gerald J, kubicki and Kristopher Kubicki

                                       BOOK BLURB
Was Orion a real person? Did he have weapons that he left on earth?
Colton Banyon and his partner Loni Chen receive an invitation to a ceremony for a dedication to his famous ancestor Jakub Banyon. When they arrive in Warsaw, Poland, they were promptly attacked and kidnapped. They soon escape and go after the kidnappers only to discover that they were sent by the head of a very secret organization called the Society of Orion. He needs their help.
The leader explains that the Society of Orion is charged with the protection of the Orion weapons, but some have all gone missing. The leader, Albin Wilk, wants Banyon to find the missing fifteen weapons in three days because some of them had been activated. He tells Banyon that the crisis is caused by his ancestor, Jakub Banyon, because he kept a diary that explained the powers and how to work each weapon. The diary had recently been discovered and published in a newspaper.
Soon, Banyon discovers that the history of the Wilk family and the Banyon family have been tied together for hundreds of years. Nothing is what it seems. He decides to find the weapons and clear his ancestor’s name.
While Loni puts together a chart of the weapons and where to locate them, Banyon begins to call in the troops. They include the Patel clan and people from Dewey & Beatem. Soon they have a plan and begin the recovery of the weapons. But nothing goes as planned and Banyon must make constant iterations to stay ahead of the many people after the weapons.

                                    MY REVIEW
This was the first book I have read from this author and I will say I really loved it. What would happen if Orion was a real person. We meet Colton Banyon and Loni Chen who get invited to a ceremony by his father Jakub Banyon , where they are kidnapped by the leader of a secret organization to help them find some missing artifacts and they only have three days to find fifteen artifacts. Which sends them on a mission and finding the artifacts and stay ahead of the people after them and the weapons .
As you all know I am a avid reader of mysteries and thrillers. I love to figure out who did it and the reasons behind why they did it . This book is no exceptions. I was turning the pages of this book well into the night . I can't believe that I haven't heard of this author before now . I mean this is the first book I have read from him and now going to go and check out all his other books . This book has it all ,mystery intrigue and oh yeah throw in Greek mythology and you have one mighty fine book.
The characters in the book are well written and so life like . They are characters from his other books but I had not trouble understanding the main characteristics and mind set. Seeing as this is a new series and book one . He also incorporates the secret society of the free masons and the secret of Orion. You feel like you are in the middle of a great spy novel, almost like you are in a Dan Brown novel when you are figuring out what will happen next.
You will take a twisted rollercoaster ride, right into the middle of a secret society and delve deep into the world of Greek mythology. This is a dark book and once you enter you won't want to leave until you are done reading the very last page . There are twists and turns that you won't see coming . So if you want a great read that is a fast read also. If you love secret societies and mystery and intrigue. This is the book for you . So please check it out.

GOOD TUESDAY ALL

Welcome to the third day in February. Today I am going to  review A DENSITY OF SOULS by
Christopher Rice .

                        BOOK BLURB
Four childhood friends in present-day New Orleans are torn apart by envy, passion, and a secret murder.
Five years ago, Meredith, Brandon, Greg, and Stephen quickly discover the fragile boundaries between friendship and betrayal as they enter high school and form new allegiances. Meredith, Brandon, and Greg gain popularity, while Stephen is viciously treated as an outcast. Then two violent deaths destroy the already delicate bonds of their friendship.
When the friends are drawn back together, new facts about their mutual history are exposed and what was held to be a tragic accident is revealed as murder. As the true story emerges, other secrets begin to unravel with more dangerous, far-reaching consequences.
A Density of Souls is a stunning debut novel that uncovers the darker side of the teenage psyche.

                                      MY REVIEW
This is Christopher's debut novel . As with all Rice novels it is based in New Orleans. But Christopher takes us on a roller coaster ride of emotions. As we meet four childhood friends Meredith, Brandon, Greg and Stephen. As they head to high school three become popular and one becomes and outcast that is taunted every day. When two violent deaths destroy the bonds of their friendships. When they are pulled back together new facts are brought to light and the deaths come to be murders. Things start to fall apart and will bond them together.
Oh I was so enthralled when I started reading this book. Christopher made his characters so believable and full of life. You can feel the pain that Stephen goes through on a daily basis . This poor soul is taunted and made an outcast everyday of his high school experience. You can see him and feel his pain. You just want to protect him from all the cruel taunts and teasing. As the story goes on you can feel the characters growing and growing up .
New Orleans is as much a character in the book as the main characters are. Christopher uses the city and its lore and its underbelly to good use. You can feel the city come to life as you read through this book.
I will tell you one thing , I have learnt a whole bunch about intolerance and homophobia from this book. Christopher takes us on that journey of betrayal, sex, friendship and coming to terms with one's sexual identity.  This is a dark book that will have you all twisted up. You will read of abuse, alcohol abuse, and the redemption that comes when you are accepted  and loved for who you are.
Now just going to say this book doesn't have vampires, werewolves and witches . Christopher has become an author with his own right. He will take you on a voyage that will make you think and will keep you reading well into the night. I loved this book and its on my reread list. So if you want a dark twisted southern tale with a twist check it out .
