WOOOHOOO ITS FRIDAY TIME FOR SOME MERMAIDS

Good Friday all , its the beginning of the weekend  . I have the second book Midlife Mermaid series . GENTLEMEN PREFER MERMAIDS  by Hp Mallory an J.R Rain

                            BOOK BLURB

When Sawyer learns what I am—a mermaid—he isn’t sure what to make of the fact. And, unfortunately for me, it seems distance is what he needs most. So even though things might be less than ideal between the two of us, at least I still have a friend in Wendy.

But, soon, that relationship will see its own crisis when posters appear throughout town proclaiming I’m a criminal on the run. Although the rumors are a hoax, I feel the whole town is turning against me, Wendy included, and I can only wonder who’s to blame for the lies.

Luckily for me, there’s a new man in my life named Marshall. Having just moved to Shell Harbor, Marshall is unbelievably handsome, and he’s quickly proving to be the only person I want to spend time with. Yet, there’s something about Marshall that leaves me with questions—he seems to be keeping secrets of his own.

Between combating nasty rumors flitting through town, keeping my swim school afloat, trying to make amends with Sawyer and Wendy, and allowing a new friendship with Marshall to blossom, my life is a chaotic mess. But that chaotic mess is about to get a lot more complicated when I get the shock of a lifetime…

                    MY REVIEW
Eva is still reeling from the aftermath of Cullen's attack on her and her house . She has also told Sawyer about her secret, that she is a mermaid . While they are trying to figure each other out and what they mean to each other . Ugly rumors are being plastered all over town about Eva. The town is turning against her and her swim school is suffering . When a new man walks into her life and becomes her confidante and the only person she can count on . But as things get worse can she count on Marshall or will she be tricked again and will Cullen finally get his chance to take her back . Oh and when her best friend shows up Eva's two ring circus becomes a 3 ring chaotic mess.

Sawyer and the gang are back and honestly better then ever . Eva is going through so much with Sawyer finding out things are a little cool with them right now . She is going through so much turmoil right now . She is having such a hard time and we see her kind of break down but with the break down we see her come out stronger then ever. Wendy, her best friend is clueless about what Eva is and what is going on . She is sweet and kind and always trying to find the good in everyone . She sometimes comes off as annoying . Sawyer is well he is being a man and trying to come to terms with everything that is going on . He has feelings for Eva but doesn't really know how to process them but when push comes to shove he will always be there for Eva and protect her. Now on to the new guy Marshall, he is way to good to be true. He is charming. sweet , but he is hiding something a big something. These characters are well written and becoming more and more complex .

This is a fun read and starts where book one leaves off . The authors take us on a fun filled ride . Where things aren't what they seem at all , the universe they are creating is growing and becoming more and more complex.  There a lot of characters in this book and sometimes you do get a little lost in everything that is going on but the authors do pull you back and get you going back on the right path. There were parts I felt that didn't really feel like it flowed well but over all I truly enjoyed this book and can't wait to see how the authors kick it up in book 3 . So if you like mermaids and sweet characters check it out.

HAPPY HUMP DAY ALL

Good morning all welcome to the back side of the week . Today I have book two in the young ballers series . HERE TO STAY  by Cassandra Cripps.

                           BOOK BLURB

I was king of the basketball court until someone leaked photographs from a party.

Now I may have lost it all, my spot on the team and my athletic scholarship.
I won’t stop until I get them back.
But even that won’t be enough.
It’s not enough ruling my college campus, not if I’m by myself.
I want her, the feisty single mother I met over the summer.
She gave me the keys to her house, but I want more.
I want the keys to her heart.
She’s my queen, and I want all of her.
She thinks I’m too young, that it won’t last.
I’ll prove her wrong.
Do whatever it takes to win her over and convince her I can be the man she needs.
That I’m here to stay.
I’m not stopping until she’s mine.
All of her.

                       MY REVIEW
Ethan and Delilah are trying to navigate trying to be a couple while he is back in college for his last year of school. Ethan is king of the court and glad to be back after the scandal that his his friend got them into during the summer . Each of them trying to keep themselves busy as they are separated . Self doubts bubble up and will they be able to stay together or will they end up falling apart .

Ethan and Delilah's story continues and wow both characters really do a lot of developing and growing . Ethan is still as sexy as sin and dashing as ever but there is all a lot more maturity to him as he realizes what he really wants and needs in his life . He is the type of guy you want in your corner. Delilah seems to have grown and gone back a bit . You see some insecurities that she still has but as the book goes along you do get to see a lot of growth and wisdom come from her. When she finally lets go and follows her heart we really get to see her blossom. We also get to meet the friends of both Ethan and Delilah and they are the fun part of the book and we get some great giggles from them. I loved how these characters have grown and become more and more complex .

This is the second book in the series and it starts exactly where book one left off . The author takes us on an emotional rollercoaster . There are still a lot of hurdles for them to jump over and the author lets the characters feel their way through  each obstacle with a love that could rival anything.  There were a few questions that really didn't get answered in the book . I wish the author would of maybe put a bit more tension between the two main characters then brought them back together. That is the only thing that I felt the book needed .Over all I truly enjoyed this series and the age gap with the woman being older . I truly enjoyed that very much , it shows that us older women can still get the younger guy. So if you want a series that will have you laughing and blushing check out the Young Ballers series .

GOOD MONDAY ALL

Today we have a new series for you to check out. THE LOVE HAIGHT case files by Jean Rabe and Donald J Bingle.

                            BOOK BLURB

Since the Summer of Love, the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco has been known for attracting weird and unconventional souls, but things got even stranger when the monsters moved in

Magic has returned to the world and with it a host of supernatural creatures—not just vampires and ghosts, but sentient gargoyles, ghouls, sprites, faeries, and more. The frightened citizenry, holier-than-thou bigots, headline-seeking reporters, and harried police refer to them as OTs (Other-Than-Humans), but Thomas Brock and Evelyn Love believe even supernatural creatures have legal rights.

Delve into their case files for a genre-bending mix of mystery, horror, suspense, thrills, courtroom drama, and romance. The city’s OT element is sometimes malevolent, sometimes misunderstood, and often discriminated against. Brock and Love represent them all, dead, undead, or alive—whatever the case, whatever the species.

                            EXCERPT

Thomas Brock and Evelyn Love are attorneys who crusade for the rights of OTs—Other-Than-Humans. Their clients include ghosts, gargoyles, vampires, and things that have not yet been given names. The city’s OT element is sometimes malevolent, sometimes misunderstood, and often discriminated against. Brock and Love represent them, whatever the case, whatever the species. Magic hangs heavy in San Francisco, and danger and intrigue is as thick as the fog around the Golden Gate Bridge

 ABOUT THE AUTHORS

 Jean Rabe

Jean Rabe writes with dogs wrapped around her feet. She wears mismatched clothes and 18-year-old worn-out (but seriously comfortable) sandals to work. When the weather is fine she writes on her back porch. Jean loves summer.

She calls herself a mutt because she writes bits of this and bits of that, not sticking to one genre. She writes mostly mysteries, but also urban fantasy, high fantasy, and sometimes science fiction.

She began getting published when in the sixth grade, studied journalism at Northern Illinois University, then went to work as a news reporter…eventually for Scripps Howard, where she managed their Western Kentucky bureau. Getting itchy feet, she moved to Wisconsin and went to work for TSR, Inc., the then-producers of the Dungeons & Dragons game. She dipped her itchy feet into the fiction pool and wrote Dragonlance novels for several years. Now she’s back in Illinois, surrounded by train tracks that offer music to write by. And there are plenty of dogs in the neighborhood to provide an accompaniment.

She is a recipient of the Faust, the grand master award of the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers, and the Illinois Author Project’s Soon-to-be Famous Award. She’s won three Silver Falchion awards from Killer Nashville, with co-author Donald J. Bingle. Jean has also been on the USA Today’s Bestseller list several times

.She’s written more than forty fantasy, mystery, and adventure novels (including some ghosted projects), more short stories than she’s bothered to count, and edited magazines and anthologies. She is a member of the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers (IAMTW), and the International Thriller Writers (ITW). Her website: www.jeanrabe.com.

When writing, she listens to classical guitar and 60s rock. And at every good opportunity she tosses tennis balls for her cadre of dogs.

BOOK 6

                           BOOK BLURB

There’s no business like ghost business…

The last thing I want to do is visit the evil voodoo witch, Guarda, again.

But once I promise two elderly and kind ladies that I’ll solve the missing-person case of their long-dead relative, I realize there’s no way around it.

With the help of Guarda’s magic, I will find myself in 1910 New York with none other than Drake Montague, the twentieth-century policeman, who used to haunt my house but now haunts my body… and, ahem, my heart.

                       MY REVIEW
The last thing Peyton wants to do is head back in time again and she doesn't want to go back to Guarda again . But when two elderly ladies come to ask for help, she makes the choice to go back . So back she goes back to 1910 New York with the dashing Drake Montague , the dashing police officer who has been in her body and also in her heart. What is a girl going to do . Will she come back with her heart intact or will she come back at all.

Peyton and the gang are back and better then ever . She is traveling back in time again but this time she is bringing Drake along. She is such a sassy woman and man she can really fight for those she loves . Drake well if you thought he was hot in the other books well he is even hotter in this book . We get to see him in the flesh back in 1910. He is dapper and dashing and such a flirt . I loved him and his cocky attitude with Peyton . They are so hot together and would melt your kindle if given the chance . I kind of feel sorry for her boyfriend Ryan who is the good sweet guy helping her with Guarda. Guarda is the witch that you just don't want to mess with . We don't really know what her agenda is with Peyton but we know there is one . Theses characters get better with each book .

This book was a fun, fast read and I couldn't put it down. The author has built a great universe where the characters are so complex and oh so well written . I loved how the author took us back in time and made the era pop with gayiety and the fun of all that was happening back in the 1900's . This is such a fun series to read and you will love to sit down and read it all cozied up with a nice cup of tea.

book 7

                        BOOK BLURB

A murder most foul in the Big Apple…\

I’m still stuck in 1910 New York, trying to solve the mystery of what happened to Dorothy Arnold and her baby.
Meanwhile, the only person I have to rely on is my ghostly housemate, Drake, who is now as flesh and blood as I am, at least in this plane of existence.
I find myself not only diving more deeply into the mystery of Dorothy’s disappearance but also into the background of my French policeman when we meet his brother, Lucien. I then learn more about the love of Drake’s life, a subject that only leaves me cold.

                     MY REVIEW
Poor Peyton is still stuck back in 1910 New York and still trying to piece together the mystery of Dorothy Arnold and her new born baby.  Drake is being a distraction in all his many glory. As Peyton dives deeper into the mystery of what happened to Dorothy and also finding out more of Drake's past there are things that are not adding up . When they meet Lucien , Drake's brother , Peyton finds out things about Drake that make her feel left out in the cold , mainly about the love of Drake's life .

Finally we get to find out more about the debonair Drake, we find out things that have Peyton rethinking the feeling she has for this man .She is really torn in this book between finding the missing woman and fighting the feelings between Drake and Ryan . I hope she chooses Ryan cause Drake is debonair and sometimes comes off a arrogant and Ryan is a sweet guy who you want in your life . There is also something up Guarda and Baron Samedi don't know what it is but these to really give off the creepy vibe big time . I must say that this book was one that had my heart racing all the way through . I love these characters and wanted to find out what is going to happen to them .

This book I devoured in one evening , I couldn't put it down . Peyton and Drake are hotter then ever but as secrets come to light that could jeopardize them both. The author really puts them through the paces in this book and you really start to get  into their minds and their hearts. Oh and the ending is well it is classic twist that will have you going omg what did she just do to us . So grab this series for a fun fall read.

                           BOOK BLURB

Twenty years ago, I loved a woman

Twenty years ago, I also loved a man.
And twenty years ago, rather than choose, I abandoned them both.
Now, I’m living a lonely life, luckless in love and unwilling to confront the truth of what I left behind.
Because of Charlotte.
Because of Liam.
My two best friends, the ones I’d been reluctant to pursue but couldn’t deny.
Attempting to avoid facing my past doesn’t work, and I see them both—together. They appear to have moved on while I can’t.
I still want her.
I still want him.
But secrets lay between us, betrayals that threaten to crack the egg shells we walk on.
I’ve got more than my own heart to look out for now, and I’ll protect those I love this time around.
No matter the cost.

                       MY REVIEW
Twenty years ago Nolan left them both, he ran away from the two people he loved more ten anything . He was torn between his two best friends and fled instead of confronting his feelings . Well it is twenty years later and his niece needs him , so back to the town that holds so many memories good and bad for him . To the little girl who will become his world and the two best friends that will bring him back to life.

The characters are wonderfully written and complex . Nolan is a tortured soul , he is torn between the two loves of his life. He is a big burly man who is gruff and possessive . There is a broken soul buried deep inside that just really needs to heal . He is gentle and oh so sweet when he lets his guard down. Liam is a confidant man who knows what he wants and will get it when the time is right . Deep down he is still the vulnerable young man that is still fighting for what he wants. Charlotte is the girl next door living in the same small town . She is not really confidant about anything. She is a curvy girl who has been knocked down all her life . When they are all together they really bring out the best in each other . They truly belong together as a family.

This is a book that you will be hooked by the end of the first chapter . The characters are so relatable and intense . You will like them when you first meet them and fall in love with them by the end of the book.  The author can really paint a picture of a tortured soul and the ways that that tortured soul can be saved . This book really tore at my heart strings , I felt like all the characters needs hugs . This is a book where you need to carve out a couple of hours to curl up and read, because once you start you will not put it down until you are finished . This is a great book for your fall reading challenge. So check it out.

                            BOOK BLURB

When Emma finds herself face to face with her father, a man she hasn’t seen since she was a girl, she’ll find her emotions all over the place. But when Emma realizes her father isn’t alone and that the Unseelie Fae, Black Annis, is by his side, she realizes things are about to go from bad to worse.

Meanwhile, Rowan is stuck at Kinloch Kirk where Nyx is busily trying to open a portal to Faery so Mathilda can be saved from certain death. Making the process even more difficult is the fact that everyone at Kinloch Kirk is under attack by the Vryloka. But, what Rowan isn’t betting on is the arrival of the two people she never thought she’d see together again.

Bryn and Sinjin return to Kinloch Kirk to find it under attack by the Vryloka. It’s an all-out war between the creatures of the sky and Laucian, Nyx, O’Rourke, and the others—each seeking to keep Rowan safe. And when Sinjin finds himself reunited with his daughter, it will be the most touching of moments.

With Morse by her side, Jolie decides to face the truth in what’s become of Rand. After being told countless horror stories from Bryn, Jolie decides the time has come to find out what’s true and what’s an exaggeration. However, when she finds herself face to face with Rand, she’s confused because it seems as though… he doesn’t see her? But how can that be possible?

                    MY REVIEW
It is time that Emma finds herself standing in front of her father . The man who use to love her and her mom with all his heart . There is something really wrong with him . He has gone dark , he isn't the Rand that everyone loves . Then things go from bad to worse when the Black Annis is along with him for the ride .  Bryn and Sinjin are back and getting ready to fight . Jolie is getting ready to face the man who doesn't remember her and she wants to know why . Will they survive and will they bring the underworld back together .

Omg what can I say this is the final book in the series , it brings all the characters together and finally over throw the Dark Mage and the unseelie court .  Jolie is back and stronger then ever , she is ready to fight till the death to find out what is wrong with her husband . Bryn and Sinjin are hotter then ever fighting and and making love . They belong together and so glad that they are back . Emma and Rowan finally find the power that is in them to help defeat the darkness that is coming . We really get to see these characters grow and finally get to stop the darkness . i love these characters and I really hope that we get to see Emma and Rowen as adults and what they will discover .

This is such a fun read , I have loved these characters from the very first book . They are so much fun to read and you will laugh out loud at some of the antics they get up to . The author created such an unique universe that is ever growing . I read this book in an evening I didn't want it to end cause I knew this was the last book in the series . This is such a fun series and its would be a great series to read for halloween, so check them out . You will meet some fun characters .

Given the opportunity to beg forgiveness, I grab it—and end up facing death.

With instincts overriding my senses, I take again.

But this time, a wildfire flares, demolishing everything in its path. Survival means sacrifice, and for me, life trumps dreams.

I’ll force Annie to give up what she wants most, even if it means I lose her forever.

                     MY REVIEW
Roan is a child of the wilderness and is looking for the one he can love but that one is his best friend . Annie Charron the daughter of his parents best friends . He stole his first kiss at sixteen and the unthinkable happened and she got hurt. When she comes back into his life he is bound and determined to have her forgiveness. He doesn't fit into her world in the city and he doubts that she can live in the wilds with him . Will a second chance let them finally reveal their feelings for for each other . Or will the Alaskan wilderness tear them apart.

This is the third and final book in the series and yes it has come full circle as we get to see Roan and Annie the children of Flynn and Saige and Brock and Jessie fall in love . Annie well she is one sassy woman, she has been hurt by men and doesn't want to be hurt again . She comes off as a tough as nails woman but there are moments of uncertainty but she comes through and shows us those fighting skills . She really grows up in this book and we see her fight hard for those she loves . Roan well he is a wild child growing up in the wilderness and only wanting one girl . He is very possessive and protective . He is built like a mountain and his eyes are so sexy . He is underneath a sweet guy who just wants to love and be loved . Brock , Jessie , Flynn and Saige all make an appearance in the book .

I was so excited to get this book in my hands . I had my heart ripped out by the other two books and I wanted to know how the author would wrap it up. I must say that the author did very well and brought us to a great ending . The author paints such a beautiful, wild picture of Alaska and the bush people that live there . The characters are well written and complex . You want to cheer them on and hug them when they are hurting . I was hooked by the end of chapter one and i read it in an evening . I was totally lost in the characters and the story . Yes I admit it I did bawl my eyes out a few times through out the book but I was cheering them on by the end . So if you want a great series to read that will rip your heart out and repair it check out the Midnight Sun series . Great for your fall reading list

What a tangled web we weave when first we practice… to be possessed…

It’s my first Christmas in New Orleans, so you’d think I’d be in festive spirits…

Well, I might have been if not for the appearance of Peter MacGregor.

Having heard of my success in stopping the axeman by going back to 1919, Peter now wants me to solve the murder of his wife by going back to 1959.

And, you got it, going back in time means first going back to Guarda’s. If I never step foot on that woman’s property again, it will be too soon.

Never say never…

                      MY REVIEW

Peyton is having her first Christmas in New Orleans and things were going pretty good until Peter MacGregor showed up and asked Peyton for a favour . After Peyton successfully defeated the Axe man her life has been different. Peter wants her to go back in time and figure out who killed his wife .  Well that means just one thing heading back out into the bayou and Guarda's the last place she wants to go . To solve the murder she must go back and figure it out .

Peyton and the gang are back and celebrating their first Christmas in New Orleans . Peyton is doing it up right and like any woman over decorating . She has some ne abilities that are making her very popular . I love these characters especially Drake and Peyton , I know they are ghost and living and he is in her body but they are the best . I have never laughed so hard as when those two get going and sparing with each other . Guarda well she has some secrets that she has hidden and now Peyton knows some of them . They are so fun to read .

This is a novella and it is one fast read , it took me a couple of hours to read . I am loving this series so much . The authors sound like they are having a ball writing this series . The characters are evolving and growing with each book and I love where the author is taking them . This is a shorter book and you will love it. So if you want a fun read for the end of summer check out this series .

GOOD WEDNESDAY TO ALL

Good day all , hope your week is going well and your August is going good . Today I have a new series for you by Aleatha Romig . Welcome to New Orleans and the DEVIL'S DEAL .

                         BOOK BLURB

  I'm Everett “Rett” Ramses.

New Orleans is my world, my realm, and my domain.
After what I've done, some people say I’m the devil.
I say I'm a man who knows what he wants, and nothing stops me from getting what I desire.
I took New Orleans, and now I want Emma O’Brien.
As the daughter of my father’s rival and sworn enemy, her fate is to be my wife.
Emma is in my world now.
It's time she makes a deal with the devil.

                   MY REVIEW
When Emma heads to New Orleans for a business meeting her world is about to change . When her evening is high jacked by the sexy Everett Ramses , who drops a ultimatum come with him or die . She is taken into a world of warring families and lies that were told to her will be found out and lives will be put on the line . Will Emma be able to come to terms with what is happening and will her heart stay intact or will the king of New Orleans be her downfall.

What can we say about these characters that everyone else hasn't said . Everett  well he is the king of New Orleans , the head of the family that is running everything . He is strong , sexy and oh so alpha . There is also a tortured side to him and the crown weighs heavy on his head . There is a deeper part of him that we need to reach and find out more of what is going on his head . Emma is well she is a sweet girl who has lost a lot in her life and in my opinion a little naive . She comes off as independent and worldly but most of the time she is a little too whiny for my taste . Over all these characters are well written and you will love them .

Ok I have read many of this authors books and this one was a good read . She took us on a roller coaster ride through out. The characters are ones that you will love to hate and then love again. I read this book in an evening and enjoyed it but there were just some areas where I feel that I was just getting disconnected with the characters and felt like it was kind a stuck . The last part of the book read a lot faster and had more suspense to it then the first part . Don't get me wrong I truly enjoyed the book even with the big cliff hanger at the end .  This would be a great book to snuggle down with and enjoy a glass of wine and a good story . Great book for you fall reading list
