TODAY IS RELEASE DAY

Good Thursday all , today is release day for Mike Evans and his second book in the Demons Beware series . DELIVER US FROM EVIL

                         BOOK BLURB

Deliver Us from Evil begins fifteen years from where book one ended. Billy and James no longer mere boys are now leading the fight against evil, one demon at a time, doing the work of God.

In Deliver Us From Evil, the demons are back and have spread beyond Chicago. They have increased their threat and now those that fight demons have become the hunted!

The Devil is recruiting for his play in the domination of Earth, and has sought out someone not possessed to do his bidding.

Can head exorcism priests Billy Parker and James Clapper keep evil at bay, or will the demons rule, causing hell to come to Earth?

                            MY REVIEW
Devil us from evil starts `15 yrs after the first attack . Billy and James are all grown up and have entered the priesthood . They are part of a special force through the church that deals with the fighting the demons .  Can they keep the devil from taking over the world or will they die trying
This is the second book in  the series and when I sat down to read it . I was wondering how Mike was going to scare us now and if he could scare me again . Well he did his job really well . I couldn't put the book down. I was turning pages well into the night . The uneasy feeling I got when I was reading is a good indication that Mr. Evans was on the right track .
The character are the same characters that were in book one . They are older and wiser and ready to wage the war on the devil . Billy and James are such strong characters more like brothers then good friends . They battle on the side of good and you cheer for them the whole way through. You will also shed a tear or two as you read and find out what happens to a few of the beloved characters .
This book will keep you on your toes as you read . It is fast paced and scary as all get go . You will be on the edge of your seat for most of the book . You will want to protect the main characters as they battle the demons . This isn't a book for the feint of heart . If you cant handle blood and the gore that comes along with fighting said demons . You will question the bonds of good and evil and who easy it is to be swayed . The author is sure to tempt and torture you all at the same time . So if you want a great series to read for your fall and Halloween read check out DEMONS BEWARE series . You will not be disappointed .

Good Wedesday

Good Wednesday all , I can't believe it is the end of August , where did the summer go . I hope you all had a great summer . Now that the kids are heading back to school its time for fall reading . I know my list is long . Here is a book you might want to add to your list. FIREBINDERS : MAREK . (The Firebinders Series) by Isobelle Cate

                         BOOK BLURB

A firebinder. A scientist. A blood that heals. A blood that kills. A supernatural mortal in search of his kind. A woman in danger of losing her life and her heart.

Marek Bannach, a firebinder, is in search of the rest of his kind – mortals with the gift of fire in their blood – before they are killed off by someone only known as The Shadow. Accepting his friend’s help of a meeting with a powerful witch in New Orleans, his thoughts of self-preservation get derailed when he rescues a woman who stirs his blood not realizing that she has something he needs.

Gwen Fraser never expected a man with the deepest blue green eyes to keep rescuing her from danger. He intrigues her and sets her heart racing. Escaping those who want to harm her because of her research, she agrees to go to New Orleans with him. En route, he gives her an unguarded moment of pleasure, not realizing that he has something she wants.

Thrown together by circumstances dictated by Serendipity, they succumb to the passion that engulfs them even if only for a few days. But danger isn’t far behind and Gwen’s life is under threat once more.

Now that he has found the woman the universe has decreed to be his, Marek must keep her safe at all cost.

Because he is nothing without her.

***CONTENT WARNING: This story contains adult language and sexual situations and intended for audiences 18+ ONLY***
                    MY REVIEW

This is the first book I have read by this author . I must say I was pleasantly surprised . The story grabs you and keeps you engaged through out .  This is the first time I have heard about Firebinders . They really intrigued me their blood can either heal you or kill you . With a magic so powerful they are forced to hide in order to stay safe . Until the day that they have to come together to fight the evil that is bent on destroying them . Marek is a fire binder and when his father dies , he is fated to keep the journal safe and to find the others . Until the day he runs into his mate, the woman who is destined to be his . Will they survive the shadow and will they survive to realize that they are meant to be together .
The characters in this book are well written and developed . The main character Marek is a sexy alpha type that one minute you want to throw him on the bed and have your way with him and the next minute you want to slap him upside the head . Gwen is a scientist and a kick ass heroine in her own right. She has a logical mind but wants to believe in the magic of Marek . She is also attracted to the man and you want her to get together with him so badly . They are a fun couple to read .
The author takes us on a magical adventure .  There is a lot going on in this book , murder . mystery a little intrigue and a lot of hot romance . The book started off a little slow but once it hits about the third chapter it takes off . The author has a magical way of writing and it shows in her work . Over all I did enjoy this book and would like to read more from this author . So if you want a different paranormal read check it out .

Good Tuesday all

Good Tuesday all , today we are going to give you a treat . We are reviewing the TANGLED LIES SERIES by Pam Godwin. A three book series that will rip out your heart and then put it back together .

book one ONE IS A PROMISE

                        BOOK BLURB

One promise.
One forever.

One look and I knew Cole was mine. My dark rebel in leather. My powerhouse of passion, devastating smiles, and impulsiveness.
When his job sends him overseas, he promises to return to me.
A promise that's destroyed in the most irrevocable way.

Two years later, an arrogant suit invades my heartbroken loneliness.

Clean-cut and stern, Trace is everything Cole wasn't.
At first, he's a job that will rescue my dance company. But as he intrudes on my life, our hostile relationship evolves.
He knows I'm still in love with Cole, but his dedication is my undoing.

Then a catastrophic moment changes everything.

Promises resurface.
Lies entangle.
And an impossible choice shatters my world.

I love two men, and I can only have one.

                            MY REVIEW

Well Pam Godwin has done it again . This is not a typical romance book for this author . She has put away her dark side and brought out a story full of heartache and lust with a strong woman and the hot sexy brooding man who wants her but alas something happens . Well you all know how pam writes .

The characters are very well written and trust me ladies there isn't just one hot sexy brooding man but there is two . One, Cole the man in her past , who trust me ladies is all domineering and sexy as sin . Then there is Trace the man who barreled into Danni's life and turned her life upside down . Trace is sex on a stick and wears a suit so well . He is torn , he is hiding something that will drive them apart if he lets go of his control and fall for Danni . Danni is going through her own personal hell and is wallowing until the day Trace walks in . He makes her come to the realization that there is love after tragedy . To me she was just a little needy at the beginning but then her sassiness kicked in and you see her start to heal .

The author takes us on a very emotional roller coaster . In her style she tears us down and then builds us back up . I was hooked by the third page and I stayed up all night reading . The pages just turned themselves . I cried and laughed and swooned . The twist at the end is true Pam Godwin . She really knows how to throw a kink into a budding romance . I can't wait to get my hands on book two I need to know what will happen and I will say this I need a Trace fix . This book boyfriend is so swoon worth , when I was reading the image of Jason Momoa kept popping into my mind and he could play Trace so well . So if you want a sexy read full of angst , healing and sexy sexy times . Check out the first book in the series ONE IS A PROMISE will be a great beach read this summer

book two  TWO IS A LIE

                             BOOK BLURB

Two lies.
Two men who don’t share.

I never stopped loving Cole. Not when he left me. Not when he disappeared for three years. Not when he crashed back into my life in a violent explosion of testosterone and fury.
His sudden reappearance questions everything I thought I knew, including how I came to love another man.

Trace is an intoxicating breeze of seduction over ice. My rock. My second chance at forever.
And he’s committed to annihilating the competition.

The battle that ensues wrenches me back and forth between them.
Fighting and f*cking.
Resisting and submitting.

Together, they entangle me in a web of lies, rivalry, and desire that weaves as deeply as their devotion to me.

I love two men, and if I can only have one, I choose none.

                        MY REVIEW

This is book two in the series and starts right where book one leaves off. Danni finds out her first love is not dead and is back to claim her again. But she has moved on after finally realizing that he is dead with Trace the oh so hot casino owner . When she finds out what is happening she is torn , her first love or the man that loves her now and consumes her every desire . This is all out war will there be survivors .

I will say that this one took me on an journey . The characters are so well written . Trace is the strong alpha man who is very intense and will do whatever it takes to win Danni's heart even letting her go . He is all man . Trust me ladies . Cole is another strong character but to me he sometimes comes off as a spoiled child . With the attitude of if I can't. Have her no one can .
Danni to me really needs to grow up . She needs to become the woman that they deserve . She is acting like a brat playing the both of them against each other . I honestly think she doesn't deserve either of them .

Pam takes us on a journey that will hit you in the gut and take you on roller coaster ride of emotions . You will be picking a side and cheering the men on . Team Trace all the way . So if you want a great series to read check it out

book three  THREE IS WAR

                        BOOK BLURB

Three means war.
Three sides vying for forever.

Cole.
My first love.
The bad boy with the dangerous smile and passionate temper draws attention like a lit fuse on dynamite. But his dark molten eyes spark only for me.

Trace.
My second chance.
Over six feet of Norse god in a tailored suit, he calculates every move and seizes my hungry breaths with an iron fist.

Me.
The free-spirited dancer, torn between two men with no resolution in sight.
I tried leaving, staying, refusing, and surrendering.
What options do I have left?

I love two men, and I do the only thing I can. I fight.

                            MY REVIEW

OMG is all I can say . This is the third and last book in the series and Pam out did herself . We have Dani , Cole and Trace all in the same house again. But this time the rules are different . Dani has no say , it is time to play by the guys rules. Will she decide and will they survive each other.

This book had me sucked in from the first page . You can't help but fall for the main men in the story (team Trace all the way) . They are so well written . Co,e the brooding sexy first love . The Trace the hot sex on a stick alpha make . He is just well sigh . Dani well she does grow up in this book . I didn't really feel like I wanted to slap her . They all actually grew up in this book.

This was a fast read for me . The author has a way of pulling you in and keeping you turning pages all night . There are parts of this book that had me fanning myself . Will never look at a Wal-Mart bathroom the same way again. Read the book ladies and you will understand ., the author broke my heart and she then mended back together , just to rip it out again. This series is another hit . If you want a great read check out this series . Pam delivers again and again .

GOOD MONDAY ALL

Good Monday all , today is the last Monday of August , kind of scary where did summer go . Today we are going to review a cute novella . WWW. CUPID  by Annette Miller

                         BOOK BLURB

Allison McCall, supervisor in the Romance and Proposal Department of Cupid Corp., firmly believes rules are meant to be followed, yet her own love life is unfulfilling.

Preston Carlyle, Allison's former boyfriend and one of her more creative agents, believes rules should be broken occasionally to give true love a chance. Only, he's having a hard time convincing Allison and Cupid his techniques are working.

From the disastrous paperwork and the frequency of Allison's visits to Cupid's office on Preston's behalf, she fears her position and his job are in jeopardy.
But when she finds out he's requested a transfer to the Holiday Security Agency, Allison decides to prove she cares for him...even if it means breaking a few rules.

                          MY REVIEW

This was such a fun novella .  What would you think Valentines day is run like a fortune five hundred business and run with an iron fisted Cupid who loves the rules . Let me introduce you to Allison and Preston . They work for Cupid and they have had a relationship but one wants more and wants to prove to the other that they belong together . Will they survive Valentines day and will they find their way back to each other .
This was a fun sweet read . The characters are well developed and funny as all get go . Preston is the guy you want as a date . He is fun loving and kind of a rule breaker , he is a stand up guy who any girl would want to have in her life .  Allison is the up and coming go getter , she is a rule follower and wants to do a great job so she can advance in her career . Sometimes you kind of want to shake her and say wake up buddy . You are missing the guy right in front of you.
This is a faced paced sweet book , you will be cheering for both Preston and Allison . You will be laughing so hard at the antics that these two get into . The only thing I wished was a little longer . Yes I know it was a novella but I would love to see a bit more back ground on both of the main characters . I had read this book in about an hour and loved every word . So if you want a fun book to read this weekend . Check it out
I was given this book by the publisher and netgalley for my honest review

Good Thursday all

Good Thursday all , hope your week is going great . Wow this is the last week of August where did the summer go . If you were like me I hope you soaked up the sun and read some really good books . Today we are going to review GOODBYE GOOD GIRL  by Renee Blossom

                         BOOK BLURB

When eighteen year old Kandace Santellan is ditched in St. Louis by her boyfriend on a cross country trip to reach her estranged father, she finds herself trapped––she can’t go home and she doesn’t have enough money to reach Los Angeles. She then meets April, an ambitious exotic dancer with attitude, who has a one thousand dollar wager––that Kandace can make the money she desperately needs dancing at the gentleman’s club The Palace in just one night. Rumored as an adult playground of fast money and faster pills, it’s a place where fantasy is king and problems are forgotten. Anything can happen.
But can Kandace strip her clothes for money, even if it is her only way to repair her broken family?
Feeling like time is running out, and out of options, she gets curious…thinking that after one wild night dancing, she would be on her way to LA. And her friends and family would never need to know. Could she make it work? Or will the club’s fantasy lifestyle take the good girl from Pittsburgh, and make her into someone she’s never met?

                       MY REVIEW

When I sat down to read this book I was at a bit of a quandary . Was this a coming of age book a mystery or and adventure read . Meet Kandace a girl who is up against it with mounting medical bills from her moms accident . Younger sisters that she has to take care of . A missing dad that hasn't been home in over two years .  When she has the opportunity to find her dad she takes it . But when she is abandoned by her so called boyfriend she is at her wits end . With a chance meeting with April , she enters a world where money is good and the lifestyle is fast . Will she get to LA will her family find out .
The characters in the book are well written but some of the characters came off as being one dimensional . Kandace is the lead character and sometimes you kind of want to slap her and sometimes you want to hug her and tell her that things will be ok . I felt that she was very naïve through out the book . She really didn't have doubts about her new job of dancing and stripping .  April is the friend everyone warns you about . She is there and leading you into some situations that are hysterical but also a little dangerous . She has no filter and will tell you what's what on any occasion . She is such a hoot to read  and you will giggle with some of the things that come out of her mouth . At least I did .
This is an intriguing book, you are taking on a journey of self discovery and coming of age . Throw in a little mystery and adventure and you have this book . I kind of felt that the beginning of the book is a bit slow and I wanted the road trip to start sooner . The conversations dragged on and on at the beginning which to me slowed down the build up . When they finally got on the road the book started to pick up steam .  Also I would of liked to see a bit more of the nagging feeling that she shouldn't be stripping instead of jumping right into it and having fun and laughing . Needed to see a bit more nervousness .
Over all I really did enjoy this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants a good coming of age story mixed with mystery and adventure

Good Tuesday all .

Good Tuesday all today we have a special guest to the blog . A great up and coming children's author. Francis Leggett and his book BANSHEE IN THE BASEMENT.

Thank you for coming on the blog Francis .

Francis Leggett , thank you for having me .

Tell us a little about yourself

Though I consider myself an open book, I always struggle to talk about myself. My name is Francis Leggett, a children's horror author and professional wrestler from Newcastle, England. I spend most of my time either writing, reading, wrestling, or coaching, but stepping back from all of that, I am a huge lover of animals and do all I can to help support local animal shelters and charities.

Tell us about your book.

BANSHEE IN THE BASEMENT is book one of my children's horror series, "Tales of Dark Wonder". It's a story of a ten year old boy called Danny, who visits his Aunt Agnes for the first time with his mother. He suddenly finds himself alone with his aunt and discovers that she's not the pleasant old lady he first thought. We then follow his desperate attempts to find his mother and escape his aunt's controlling grasp, encountering a lot of mysterious things along the way. I won't give away too much for those that are yet to read it!

Have you always wanted to write children's books.

Honestly? Actually no, haha. As a teenager I wrote some poetry that ended up being published and alongside that, I persistently attempted to write an epic fantasy novel, but I just didn't have the passion required to finish those projects. I didn't truly find my niche until I started writing children's horror though.

What is the best part and the worst part of writing / publishing your first book.

I have to say the hardest part of writing my first book was the level of uncertainty around getting published. At this point I hadn't contacted Christina at Optimus Maximus Publishing, so like many others, I was just a person with a wild dream of holding his book in his hands. Another issue I had personally was that the more research I did into the publishing process, the more disheartened I seemed to become. Thinking back I can say without a doubt that this was due to most websites offering poor advice and making you feel like you don't have what it takes to become a published author. To any aspiring authors reading this, you can do it, keep writing and please don't give up.

I heard from a little birdie that you were once a wrestler. Got any good stories to tell us all.

That's absolutely right, I've been a wrestler since 2002 so fifteen years and counting. Though I focus more on my roles as a coach and promoter these days, I do still wrestle now and then. Thinking of a story is a tricky one, I've been hit in the head a lot, you know! I can tell you that I've portrayed the bad guy for most of my fifteen years in wrestling and throughout that time I've had people try to break locker room doors down to get at me, throw drinks and glasses at me, and even wait outside of venues for me. Fans can be crazy. A funny story for you though, me and a friend of mine were wrestling in Carlisle. At this time we were both wrestling under masks. After traveling and wrestling, we were exhausted but in order to keep our identities hidden, we had to keep our masks on until we got to the car and drove away from the fans. My friend jumped into the driver's seat and set his satellite navigation to home... or so he thought. A few minutes later the SatNav had taken us down a pitch dark, back lane and who should follow us but a police car. They pulled us over and we stepped out of the car in street clothes and wrestling masks. That was an interesting thing to try and explain to two officers, but luckily for us they found it hilarious and after showing them our cases full of wrestling attire, sent us on our way.

when you write do you have any rituals that you have

You know, I've heard that a lot of authors, including those that I talk to, have rituals or even like to sit in a peaceful place in order to get the best results from their writing. Some like to listen to their favourite songs, others like to listen to heavy music in order to maybe switch on the right areas of their imagination. Everybody seems to have their own thing, except me! I am pretty much an insomniac thanks for years of working nightshifts, so I peak at strange times and get most of my best ideas whilst lying in bed staring at the ceiling. When it comes to the actual writing I don't need silence or a specific setting, as long as I have my laptop on me knee and a clear mind, I'm good to go.

Do any of your books come from your childhood.

My books are certainly influenced by the Goosebumps series but my parents wouldn't let me read them as a kid because they were too scary, which is crazy because they didn't mind me watching Nightmare on Elm Street and things like that. There are certain parts of the book that are influenced by my childhood but I'll let you all guess which they are.

Does writing come easy to you

If I have a clear mind then the words will just flow from me without any issues. I often think that writing children's books holds its own challenges in that department though because you aren't just writing freely, you have to limit the complexity of the language you use. Personally I always try to make my books enjoyable for adults as well as obviously the kids they're aimed at which can be a difficult but enjoyable task.

What authors have inspired you

I think the one that will be no surprise to anybody at all would be RL Stine. His Goosebumps books are absolutely incredible and have truly stood the test of time. I am also a huge fan of Robin Hobb, she is in my opinion the most well rounded author I've ever had the pleasure of reading. She was also kind and humble enough to reply to an email, offering me advice when I was a teenager attempting to write fantasy novels and I will always be grateful for that.

How many books are you going to write in this series

I feel like I've just laid down the foundation and it's time to build upon it. I would love to release a huge amount of books in the Tales of Dark Wonder series but at the end of the day I believe that's a decision that would require a lot of input from Christina at Optimus Maximus Publishing. As long as she wants more, I'll keep on writing them.

now for some fun questions
I've enjoyed them all but sure, let's make a game of it!

COFFE OR TEA

That's a funny one because I love both but don't drink either. I used to drink far too many energy drinks and now my body disagrees with caffeine.

FAVOURITE BOOK AND AUTHOR

Can I pick two series that go hand in hand? If so then I'd have to say The Farseer Trilogy and The Tawny Man Trilogy by Robin Hobb. If I can only choose one then I'd have to say Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb because without book one, there could be no others.

FAVOURITE JUNK FOOD

All of it. I'm actually allergic to peanuts and tree nuts though so I can't have a lot of tasty treats. What sort of Brit would I be if I didn't say Fish and Chips though?

NIGHT OWL OR EARLY BIRD

Complete insomniac. I usually go to bed around midnight and spend most my time staring at the ceiling or coming up with crazy ideas.

IF YOU HAD A SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE

A: The power to scare people... oh wait, maybe I do.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

What would you say to any aspiring writer out there.

Writing isn't always easy, but it is always fun. There will be people out there who don't believe in your dreams like you do, don't let that damage your passion or self belief. Keep writing and never give up.

GOOD FRIDAY ALL

Good Friday all , today we are going to review two books by Stephen Zimmer .

HEART OF THE LION( Dark Sun Dawn book one )

                          BOOK BLURB

Rayden Valkyrie. She walks alone, serving no king, emperor, or master. Forged in the fires of tragedy, she has no place she truly calls home.

A deadly warrior wielding both blade and axe, Rayden is the bane of the wicked and corrupt. To many others, she is the most loyal and dedicated of friends, an ally who is unyielding in the most dangerous of circumstances.

The people of the far southern lands she has just aided claim that she has the heart of a lion. For Rayden, a long journey to the lands of the far northern tribes who adopted her as a child beckons, with an ocean lying in between.

Her path will lead her once more into the center of a maelstrom, one involving a rising empire that is said to be making use of the darkest kinds of sorcery to grow its power. Making new friends and discoveries amid tremendous peril, Rayden makes her way to the north.

Monstrous beasts, supernatural powers, and the bloody specter of war have been a part of her world for a long time and this journey will be no different. Rayden chooses the battles that she will fight, whether she takes up the cause of one individual or an entire people.

Both friends and enemies alike will swiftly learn that the people of the far southern lands spoke truly. Rayden Valkyrie has the heart of a lion.

Heart of a Lion is Book One of the Dark Sun Dawn Trilogy.

                                  MY REVIEW
I must say I was captivated with this book . I have always had a thing for fantasy world and I absolutely love a strong kick ass heroine . Rayden is that character for me , she is strong . and fearless . She is a rebel that bows to no king and she with her band of best friend will prove that the southern land whispers that Rayden is the true heart of the lion .
The characters are so well written and so complex . Rayden is such a power house . She is strong and fearless and has an unapologetic strength to stick to her morals . She has a very strong sense of right and wrong  which works well for her in her battles. Not only does she have these values and morals , she keeps everyone in her band adhering to them . It is so great to see such a strong well written character . She makes me want to become a warrior .
This book had be hooked by the third page. The author takes us on such a great adventure ride . You honestly feel like you are right beside Rayden when she is in her battles . The author has a way of taking you right into the battle and are right beside her as she fights for what is right . This is a book that once you start reading you just can't put it down. You get sucked right in . You will cheer and you will shed a tear . You will fall in love with all the characters . this is a book for all the fantasy lovers out there . Check it out .

book two THUNDER HORIZON

                         BOOK BLURB

A deadly menace stalks the shadows of the lands to the north, stirring the winds of war. Farther south, the power of the Teveren Empire spreads with every passing day, empowered by dark sorcery. Formidable legions bent on conquest are on the march, slavery and subjugation following in their wake.

Within the rising maelstrom, Rayden Valkyrie has returned to the Gessa, to stand with the tribe that once took her into their care as a child. No amount of jewels or coin can sway her, nor can the great power of her adversaries intimidate her.

With a sword blade in her right hand and axe in her left, Rayden confronts foes both supernatural and of flesh and blood. Horrific revelations and tremendous risks loom; some that will see Rayden's survival in the gravest of peril.

Even if Rayden and the Gessa survive the trials plaguing their lands, the thunder of an even darker storm booms across the far horizon.

Thunder Horizon is the second book in the Dark Sun Dawn Saga.

                     MY REVIEW

In the second book we find Rayden fighting an evil of the darkest variety . She stands with the people that took her in as a child to help save them from the evil that is taking over .
Stephen takes us on an epic journey in book two . The evil is darker and the fights are harder . Rayden give he all to everyone and just reminds me why I love her so much. She is even more bad ass in this book . She had me on the edge of my seat all the way through this book . I loved every page .
This story is more epic then the first one . The author takes us on a ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through . At one point I was really wondering if this was it for Rayden and the Gessa . But like all the other battles she does come out of it . This story is a little bit more fast paced then the first one . You will absolutely love the story and the characters . Can't wait for the next book
