BOOK BLURB
Shirley Holmes and Janie Watson have been best friends since high school, and now they own a detective agency together. The Holmes and Watson Detective Agency has a reputation for finding lost pets and finding people who skip out on the local bail bondsman. The girls wish for something more exciting, something they can skin their teeth into.
***WARNING***This story contains potentially triggering material, including the death and kidnapping of children. Read at your own discretion. MY REVIEW
Since high school Shirley and Janie have been the best of friends , they shared the love of all things mysterious. When they got older they went to college and started their own detective agency in their small town. Where the most exciting thing is catching bail skippers and the occasional lost pet. Until the day things change and they can finally sink their teeth into.
Shirley and Janie were the best of friends and were like two peas in a pod. They liked all the same things and they were more like sisters .They both are sweet and kind , not the typical characteristics that you would think of when you are thinking of detectives . They can be tough and have the lets get er done attitude. They are well written and as I read the series i hope they get a little more complex . They have a great cast of characters that help out and solve the mystery. Each character is well written and Lennox and Layla are the best they are tough little kids and will do what it takes to survive.
This is one of those books that you can read in an evening. The story was a fast read and the characters were well written. The author has done a great gender swap with the main characters it really gives of a Nancy Drew vibe which to me is great cause I loved those books . I did find it a bit choppy in a few places but it doesn't really affect the story line . This would be a great beach read when you have a couple of hours to relax in the hammock and just read. Check it out of you love a mystery style book .
