GOOD DAY EVERYONE WELCOME TO DAY 3 OF READER ROUND UP

Good afternoon my peeps today we have book 3 in the novellas. Today I have for you GALENA Black Bears of Independance book 8 by K. R Hall

                             BOOK BLURB

Everyone knows shifters only have one fated mate.

What happens when your fated mate dies as a child? This is the question that has haunted Galena for almost fifty years.
Healer of the Hurst Family Clan, Galena Applehans, met her mate, Arlo Evans when they were ten. Their connection was undeniable, but tragically, the Big Thompson Canyon flood of ’76 swept Arlo away.
Now nearly fifty years later, a man claiming to be Arlo has suddenly appeared at the Hurst Family Clan’s compound, ready to claim Galena as his mate. But Galena and her inner black bear are hesitant.
Where has Arlo been for the last forty-nine years? Can this man truly be her long-lost mate, or is something more sinister at play?

                       MY REVIEW
Galena is a bear shifter and a healer of her clan. She has been haunted by loosing her mate as a young child. Arlo was supposedly swept away by a big flood in 1976.  Almost fifty years later a man that claims to be Arlo comes into the compound . Will Galena and her bear recognize him as her mate . Or there is something blocking him and can they figure it out before something sinister happens

Galena is a sweet woman who I am thankful is middle aged, yes i get tired of reading younger woman . She is the epitome of niceness and she takes her job as healer very serious. Arlo is well he is troubled and hurting . After being lost to his pack for almost 50 years . He is also being tormented by a demon that is killing people. He doesn't trust himself around anyone . These two are so sweet and shy with each other but they soon realize that they belong together and the sparks fly.

This is a book you can read on a cozy evening with a cup of hot cocoa . The characters are well written and you will get attached to them from the first page and you can watch them grow up and find each other again . This is a fast read and you can read it in an evening . I really like how this author writes and will be reading more from her . Check her out.

GOOD MORNING AND WELCOME TO DAY 2 OF RR

Good morning peeps , it is day two of reader roundup novellas and today I have for you a brand new author to me. Samantha Brimmer and her book DEVIL ON MY SHOULDER

                           BOOK BLURB

Ever feel so alone like no one sees the real you? As if no one could possibly understand what you are going through? Ever feel like the demon in your head is stronger than you and you have no way out of the corner that you've been backed into? Ever feel so unloveable that your think you are better off dead? Meet Phoenix who is exactly like that. She wakes up every day just to battle the demon in her head. She is tired of opening her eyes every day just to have to battle Monty in her head. Then she meets Asher. A young man who is determined to show her she is worthy, wanted, loved, beautiful beyond a doubt, he wants to show her that she is enough and more, but will that be enough. Take a walk in the footsteps of Phoenix as she not only navigates a love life, but also her mental health issues at the same time.

                                                 MY REVIEW
Phoenix is a young woman who has been through so much. Every morning she wakes up and has a daily battle with the demon in her head. The thoughts are sometimes over powering and oh so overwhelming. Until the day a gorgeous young man walks into her life and makes her realize that life can be worth living and love can happen even to those that think they aren't worth loving . Together they will travel a road full of bumps and pot holes to finally maybe find the love that Phoenix deserves .

This is one book that when you start you can not put down. Phoenix is a sweet girl who has been battling demons from the time she was young. The voice in her head , Monty is there to put her down and make her feel like she is going crazy on a daily basis. She feels like she will never win against him but she is stronger then she realizes. She is a fighter and you see her fight everyday even when she is too scared to talk to anyone because she is afraid someone will call her crazy. The one person who is there for her is Asher , the boy that came into her life and started to make things feel normal. He has a calming way and understands Phoenix. The other main character in this book is Monty the voice in Phoenix's head . He is well actually pure evil and you will hate him . Each character has been well written and complex . You really just want to give each of them a hug well everyone but Monty. Phoenix really got to me and pulled my heart strings over and over .

This is one of those stories that will have you crying through out . It is a heart wrenching look at what could happen to those who are scared to get help because they don't want to be branded crazy. There are so many trigger warnings in this book so please check them before reading . Toxic family, , depression, childhood trauma are just a few. This is one of those books that is heavy but is must read . It ripped out my heart but also stitched it back together. This a book that you should add to your fall reading list .

IT IS BACK READER ROUND UP DAY ONE

It is that time of year again Reader Round up and we are doing novellas this week. Today I have a fun little book by RL Merrill  STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN EVERYDAY.

                              BOOK BLURB

My wife's job is writing horror stories, and I pretend the spooky stuff is just fiction. She's a bona fide best-selling author whom I met while responding to a call for service. She's also a medium. As an EMT, I'm used to the fact that you never know what you're going to get when you show up at someone's house. I never expected to meet the love of my life while out on a call, marry her, and move cross-country with her. I certainly never expected the ghosts...

                         MY REVIEW
Frankie and Lulu are just married and off on an adventure heading off south to Mississippi. Where Frankie has a job as an EMT and Lulu can continue her writing career. When things start to get a little weird when Frankie starts to see a man walking around and vanishing around corners. Frankie is taken to a place where Lulu protects her with her Physic ability to keep her safe as she figures out the mystery surrounding the last owner of the house Henrietta. Together  with Jamal they are set on a path that will reunite a couple and finally shed the light on what happened to the church money

Frankie and Lulu are such a sweet couple , they are so in love with each other and want to be there for each other. Frankie is a strong woman who will fight for what is right . Lulu is a free spirit who has a talent that well renown horror writer and physic trouble seems to follow them around from one adventure to another . They are opposites but they fit together so well , they know and love each other for what they are and what they can be. They are such interesting and I feel that they could be a neighbour. I liked them and would of loved to see more of them as a couple and watch them grow.

This is a fast read that the author pull a segment of their lives . The characters are well written  and you will want more from them. It shows a small part of what their day includes . I would love to see more of them in additional stories . This is a fun read and the author has a fun way of writing that will have you giggling through out the book . So add this your fall reading list for your fast fall reading list.

I AM BACK AND READY FOR FALL

Good afternoon my peeps . I am sorry I have been mia the last month but life on the farm really got busy . But I am back and ready to find you all your fall and winter reads. Today is release day for Marianne Morea's new series Book one is RIVALS OF SEA AND SKY  first book in the Avalon Courts series

                           BOOK BLURB

Eden Aossi, heir to the Summer Court, has everything a fae princess is supposed to want—couture gowns, enchanted castles, and a destiny etched in starlight. What she doesn’t have? The freedom to actually live her own life.

Stuck in etiquette lessons and royal obligations, Eden feels less like a future queen and more like a collectible locked in a glass case. Luckily, she’s not alone. Her mentor and mischievous wizard Merlin—yes, that one—is more than happy to nudge her toward a little well-placed rebellion.

When a chance pops up to ditch the crown-polishing and sneak into the Winter Court gala, she’s gone faster than you can say fairy glam squad, trading duty for one night of dazzling lights, music, and the kind of freedom she’s only ever seen in mortal movies.

That’s when she collides with Daire Dannean: Winter’s heir, sworn enemy, and walking reminder that she’s in way over her head. The spark between them is undeniable, inconvenient, and maybe even dangerous. But for the first time, Eden feels seen—not as an heir, but as herself.

As the two navigate glittering courts, tangled loyalties, the complex pop culture of the human world, and shadows lurking at the edge, they discover a shared dream: breaking free of tradition and forging a new future. Trouble is, not everyone wants peace...and some will do anything to keep them apart.

Magic, betrayal, and a forbidden romance, Eden’s about to learn that happily ever after isn’t a fairy tale. It’s a glow-up.

                       MY REVIEW
Eden is a princess of the Summer Court , the oldest daughter who is destined to take over as queen when her mom passes away or steps down. She has everything a fae princess could ask for but the freedom to live her own life . Until the night she sneaks off to a party with her sister to the Winter court. When she runs into Daire Dannean the prince of Winter court. They are drawn together as they see each other as the person they are and not the titles they have. When they head to the human world they have to navigate the courts and human world to bring them what they truly want and desire.

Eden is a sweet young woman who just happens to be a fae princess who is being trained to take over Summer court .Her mother is nothing but diabolical . Eden is trying to have a life but duty calls . She is sweet and kind but also wants to live her own life. She starts off as a little naive but as you watch her grow through out the book. She becomes a fighter and someone who wants to live by her own rules. Daire is well he is good looking but not arrogant , he wants what Eden wants a life outside the court. He wants to be with one and if that means going against the court so be it. They are destined to be together and with the help of Merlin. Yes Merlin makes an appearance . He is so much fun and is the comic relief through out the book .  Each character in this book is well written and complex . You really start to cheer for Eden and Daire and you want them to be together.

This is one of those books that mixes fae and medieval fantasy together . The author takes us on an adventure through out the realms and the human world.  I must admit I have read all this authors books and loved each and everyone of them . She carefully crafts a story that is engaging and sexy at the same time . She can write a great story being vampire, werewolf , fae or just about anything . This is one of those books that can be read in an evening . I can't wait to see what happens in book 2. So check it out if you like a nice read for those cool fall evenings .
