MADE IT OUT OF THE STORM

                          BOOK BLURB

 Midlife—when the magic really begins…

Happy Birthday and hello Mid-life crisis. Hi, I'm Mercury Rodgers and at forty-five I thought life was over. Dead-end job, empty nest...it was just me and the cat starting over. Again.

But when I lost my house and moved in with my pickleball playing, ballroom dancing, super social senior citizen mom—that was the icing on my midlife birthday cake. Then, out of nowhere, my luck changed.

Or so I thought...

I won an all expenses paid trip to the Phoenix Inn. Now the bodies are piling up and I’m a suspect in a murder investigation. But the real surprise is: I’m not just a broke, divorced, empty-nester—I’m a witch.

And the magic is just beginning...

                          MY  REVIEW
Mercury is well she is not having a good day. It is her birthday and she is having a mid life crisis, she turned 45 and is divorced, an empty nester with a dead end job. It is just her and her cat . After selling the house that she raised her family in and moving in with her mom. Things start to change when she wins an all expenses paid vacation to the Phoenix Inn. Where things change for Mercury , there is more to her then just being a mom and and empty nester . Mercury is a witch and now is her time to shine.

Mercury is one of those characters that you love to read . She is a woman who has been through so much and having to rebuild her life after a divorce. Mercury thinks that she has hit rock bottom and we get all the feels from her . Then we get to see her change and become the strong woman that  was hidden underneath the woman who feels like she was broken and not good to anyone anymore . We also get to meet a whole cast of characters that are there to either help or hinder her in her becoming the woman she needs to be.

Mercury Rising is one of those books that when you start you will fall in love with. The characters are well written and funny . I love that the character is not your young know it all , she is a woman who is who wants to happy again . I truly like this authors style of writing and I knew I would be sucked into the story from the first page .  It has a lot of twists and turns that will have you on the edge o your seat most of the time. If you want a good start to a series check it out .

DAY 299 OF WINTER

Good morning peeps welcome to 299 day of winter here on the farm . So what do you do when it is blizzard going on outside you grab a book and snuggle down with a good book . Today I have for your enjoyment AGE GAPE ROMANCE part 2 by Hp Mallory

                           BOOK BLURB

 NIKKI

So, I just decided to make the target of my femme-fatale training my professor, Derek Anderson.

The only problem? Derek isn’t exactly what I’d call an easy target.

He’s a playboy and he’s known as the hottest professor on campus which means he can basically get any woman he wants.

But that’s not the only problem.

The biggest one so far is that I’m starting to develop feelings for him and according to the laws of seduction, that’s breaking rule #1.

DEREK:

I made a mistake.

After deciding Nikki and I can never be anything, I just invited her to become my teaching assistant.

And she agreed.

Damn me, but now I can’t get that woman out of my head.

I know I’m playing a dangerous game, but I want her.

And what usually happens when I want something?

I get it.

                      MY REVIEW

Nikki is working the Femme Fatale notebook and everyone is taking notice. Even the teacher she wants but is it getting too much for both of them . With Nikki becoming his teaching assistant things are going to get hot and i mean hot . When real feelings start to seep in and making the water muddy will they be able to stay friends or will they finally dive into their desire and take it to a whole new level

Nikki and Derek are well just getting a lot more complicated. We get to see Nikki finally grow up in this installment and realize that she is playing with fire with Derek. There are real feelings surfacing and we watch how both of them and how they handle the feelings of what could be and what love would be like with this person. It is not only Nikki doing the growing Derek is also doing a bunch of growing this installment . He finally cares for someone other then himself. We really do get to see them both grow and realize love is fighting for.

The second part starts basically right where book one ended and is a good read. We find more emotions coming out in this book and it seems like we finally get to see the characters real feeling finally emerge.  This quick read will be giving you all the feels and there are moments that you want to bang their heads together . I truly enjoyed this series and it is a departure from the normal writing of this author . This is not a stand alone you really should read part one to get the full feeling of these characters and watch how they grow . If you want a fun interesting read that will give you all the feels check out the series.

WELCOME BACK SAVANNAH

Good morning my peeps hope your Tuesday is going well, well I am under another snowfall warning so glad there are books to read. Today I have for you the last book in the Sentinels of Savannah . THE CAPTAIN'S CURSE  by Lisa Kessler.

                        BOOK BLURB

Captain Ian Flynn would die for any one of his crew…if he could. Now he might have to. Because one of the only known weapons able to kill an immortal is missing. The Spear of Destiny—a priceless religious artifact from the crucifixion—is in the hands of his ship’s ruthless ex-captain. Now the lives of the Sea Dog’s immortal pirate crew are all at risk…along with the headstrong mortal Ian never should have fallen for.

Writer Lily Bouchard isn’t sure what’s worse. That she fell for Ian Flynn only to get her heart broken, or that she romanticized the man like he was some gorgeous viking straight out of a movie. So when he shows up suddenly with some absurd tale of immortal pirates and mythical religious relics, Lily doesn’t know what to think. He’s always had a wildness beneath his well-tailored appearance…but how could any of this possibly be real?

Now a centuries-old vendetta between two pirate captains has erupted, and Ian will do anything to keep Lily safe—even if it means risking everything. But she won’t give him up without a fight.

The only thing more dangerous than killing an immortal is falling for one…

                     MY REVIEW

Ian Flynn is the captain of the Sea Dog and would do anything for his crew . So, when he hears about the Spear of Destiny going missing he is on a mission to get it back. The spear is the only thing that can kill an immortal.  It is in the hands of the ex captain of the   Sea Dog. Now he and the woman he has fallen in love with , Lily they must find the spear and save the crew of the Sea Dog .

Ian and Lily well now here is a couple. Ian is the immortal swash buckling pirate who is holding on to a lot of hurt and secrets.  He has isolated himself away from his crew and they really don't have their trust . He has hurt the woman who has his heart but didn't know it . I will say that he is one sexy man but there are moments when you want to smack him upside the head because of his stubbornness. Lily is a writer and the sweetest woman ever . She has been hurt before by Ian but she is guarding her heart . She maybe sweet but there is a toughness about her that have her fighting to keep Ian and the crew alive. We also get to meet Morgan the ex captain of the Sea dog and he is out for blood . He didn't die on the island over 200 years ago and now he wants his revenge. He is well kind of blood thirsty and hot as heck but is there redemption for Morgan you will have to read to find out . We also get the rest of the gang back and honestly funnier and sexier then ever.

This is a bittersweet book for me , I love this series so much and it honestly felt sad it was  the last book in the series. We finally get to see Ian get his hea which to me was great . The author really put these characters through so much. Counting the city of Savannah which she used as a great back drop to the stories of the men of the Sea Dog. The author packed a lot into this last book and actually found a way to redeem both Ian and Morgan. So if you want a book full of intrigue , all the smexiness and well pirates . Check out this series and each book can be read as a stand alone. What are you waiting for go meet the men of the SEA DOG  and get your pirate on. Preorder today

MADE IT BACK TO MONDAY

Well we are back to Monday and I am getting ready for another dump of the winter white stuff. Today I have the second book in the Gwen's Ghosts series by Hp Mallory and J.R Rain. DEAD AND GONE .

                           BOOK BLURB

After waking up with a could-be killer in my bed, I’m understandably panicked.

And that panic only increases when I realize Bastian realizes there’s something off about me.

I need to get this guy out of my house (and probably my life) pronto!

Yet it doesn’t seem things are going to be quite so easy.

And while what few clues there are point to Bastian, I can’t help but feel like he’s innocent—or is that just wishful thinking on my part since I sort of like him?

Whatever my reasons, I’m now determined to find Victoria’s killer—whether that killer is Bastian or not.

But what I’m not planning on is finding myself breaking and entering, hiding from the police, and the worst shock of all?

Meeting Leo’s wife…

                        MY REVIEW

Gwen and Petra are back and funnier then ever. After waking up with Bastion Gwen starts to panic with a would be killer in her house even if he is drop dead gorgeous. Things go from bad to worse when Gwen realizes that Bastion thinks that there is something off about Gwen . As the clues keep adding up to Bastion being the killer things just don't add up to him being the killer. Gwen is even more determined to find the killer even if it means breaking and entering , hiding from the police and the ultimate sacrifice meeting Leo's wife.

Gwen and Petra are back and they are funnier then ever . Gwen is trying to find Victoria's killer and she is getting feisty and hard working . She wants put Victoria's murder behind her . I love how strong and feisty she is but there is a side to her that all she wants is love and a good man to love. Petra is well she is a ghost but man she is hilarious. She keeps Gwen in line most of the time . She is like jimney cricket on her shoulder most of the time . We also get to meet Bastion and he is well he is a playboy but there something about him that you can't help but fall for but there is an air about him that you just can't trust yet . These characters are so well written and complex and you will love them

In the second book of the series starts right where book one left off . The authors have created such a fun story line and they really come off the page at you . There is so much going on in book two. The things Petra does and says had me in stitches all the way through the book. I truly enjoyed this book and loved the character development through out the book. This can't be read as a stand alone I would really suggest you read book one first and then dive into this fun fast read . I think you all would love this series so check it out
