Good morning all. So I can finally see straight enough to write today. Migraines are a pain in the butt. But enough of my whining lets get on to reviewing for you all . Today's book is CAMPUS KILLER(detective Alai Ryan book one) by Andrew Hess
BOOK BLURB
MY REVIEW
There is one thing that I love about having a book blog. All the new authors I have met and all the new books I get to bring you. Well this is one of those authors and books .
It is a mystery book that takes us into the life of Ali Ryan. A hard working detective that will do anything to solve the murder. Even when everyone else thinks it is a suicide. Even when the lives of her sister and her are put into danger . She will figure out who the murderer is.
The main character in the book is a woman and the author writes from her point of view very well. He really brings out Ali's aggressive and assertive sides very well. She is one tenacious woman to the chagrin of her long suffering partner and the lieutenant. The other main character and Ali's nemesis is the serial killer Nick/ Mark and boy Andrew made that boy twisted. He may be a functioning member of society but with a twisted mind like that, he should be committed into the nearest mental health facility and left there. I loved reading both points of view in this book. Why you ask? Well l will tell you , the author did a great job getting into the minds of both characters. Making us cheer for Ali and feel sorry for Mark.
The author takes us down a twisting road . I mean you watch how the characters grow as the author takes them through the hell that they need to go through. I was reading this book well into the night . The author was dropping breadcrumbs along the way, that as you find them you start to put everything together . Other then a couple of spelling errors that kind a threw me off . I couldn't put the book down . I finished it in a day. So if you want a mystery that has a strong female lead and a truly twisted serial killer . This is the book for you . So why not give it a chance, I know you wont be disappointed
I give this book a 4.5 novels

Ali Ryan has dreamed of being a hot shot detective that solves high profile cases. Her love for crime novels and police dramas was her inspiration to become a cop, but it was her pushy demeanor and sassy impulsive attitude that earned her the detective promotion she coveted. But is your dream job worth sacrificing the ones you love?
The fall semester for New Paltz has begun complete with a dead body turning up in the dorms. Police claim the case is open and shut, but Detective Ali Ryan doesn’t think so. She throws herself into the case desperately searching for answers as the death toll on campus rises; each made to look like a suicide.
With Ali getting closer to uncovering the truth, the killer wants to make his attacks more personal. His sights are set on Detective Ryan and her sister. Police are forced to place them under their protection, but Ali is determined to hunt down the killer and stop him before he kills again. But how far is Detective Ryan willing to go to protect her sister and take down the sadistic killer?

BOOK BLURB
Werewolf princess Ashling Boru's eighteenth birthday is only a year away, which means that she only has twelve months before she is claimed and fulfills her prophecy to unite the packs and lead her people. Her father decrees that her four suitors must fight in the Bloodrealms, the werewolves' ancient underground fighting world, and the winner will have King Boru's choice to win Ashling's hand. The wolf laws are rigid and barbaric, and Ashling's illicit love for Grey, if discovered, will mean his death. But when Ashling and Grey get trapped in the blood-soaked depths of the Bloodrealms, they find ancient horrors far greater than Ashling's father's rule.
With betrayal around every corner and old nemeses set to destroy Ashling, she is more divided than ever between the destiny she didn't choose and the love that she did. To make matters worse, her decision will not only set the course of her future, but the future of her entire race.
MY REVIEW
This the second book in the BloodMark series. It is getting close to werewolf princess Ashlings 18th birthday and when she is claimed to be married and fulfill her prophecy. Where her and the four suitors that her father has picked to fight in blood realm. As her and her four suitors fight , they find out there is a betrayer among them. Now will they survive and will her chooses will help or hinder her race
This is the first book I read from the author. I found it to be very entertaining and had my turning pages well into the night . Now this is the second book in the series and we find out about the characters. Ashling and Grey's love for each other is so real , they want to be married and be mated but alas her father the King has other plans. Where she has three other suitors. Which she is nice enough to meet but she really wants to be with Grey. The characters are so real and the pain that they are hiding is real. The pain that Ashling is going through is so real. The near rape has Ashling going through so many emotions that are dealt with really well in the book. The author doesn't skirt the issue. She lets Ashling grow and become more confidence as she works through the pain.
You see all the characters grow and grow stronger throughout the book . They become warriors in their own right .
The author has a way with word and she takes us on a fantasy filled roller coaster ride. The was so many twists and turns. The book is full of action and danger, The stakes are very high in this book. The only thing that was a little off was that some of the issues were resolved rather quickly, like the sworn enemy becoming allies with them. The whole thing seemed to be glossed over. Other then that small thing the book is a really good read. The author gave us complex characters with a great story line. So if you want a good story with danger and a love story all rolled into one , Check it out

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Nina Mason is a hopeful romantic with strong affinities for history, mythology, and the metaphysical. She strives to write the same kind of books she loves to read: those that entertain, edify, educate, and enlighten. She is the author of The Queen of Swords, a darkly erotic Scottish paranormal romance/urban fantasy, and The Tin Man, a political thriller, both published by Vamptasy/CHBB. Devil in Duke’s Clothing is her first historical romance and Royal Pains is her first series. Starry Knight, book one in a second series titled Knights of Avalon, will be released in August 2015 by Lyrical/ Kensington. When not writing, Ms. Mason works as a communications consultant, doll maker, and home stager. Born and raised in Orange County, California, the author currently lives with her husband, teenage daughter, two rescue cats, and a Westie just north of Atlanta, Georgia.

Maggie York, a convent-raised foundling, knows the Duke of Dunwoody’s sexual tastes are a shade or two darker than most, but marries him anyway—partly because she has no other prospects and partly because, try as she might, she can’t seem to stop fantasizing about her dashing rake of a guardian.
Robert Armstrong, the duke, is a Roman Catholic whose extreme devotions as a child warped his desires as a man. He’s also a slave to the times in which he lives--and to his king. Everything he is, everything he holds dear, depends on staying in Charles II’s good graces. Unfortunately, Maggie isn't the bride the king selected for him. Now, to make amends, the duke must either whore his wife or be reduced to a penniless and unprotected commoner at a time when Catholics are persona non grata in Great Britain.

MY REVIEW
OMG NINA HAS DONE IT AGAIN. She can write about paranormal and she can write intrigue and now she wrote erotica. But not just any old erotica, Nina took it one step further and wrote historical erotica.
The story is about Maggie a young naïve girl who was raised in a convent where she was raised to think of sex as a way to procreate. You have to remember this is the 1680s. Enter the Duke of Dunwoody who basically inherited her when she was younger . Fast forward a few years as a voyeuristic Maggie finds the Duke and the family maid having sex in the library . Which sets off chain of events that ultimately ends up with Maggie fighting off the king when they go to court and I am so not going to tell you any more This is more then erotica it is a love story also .

I loved the Duke he is such a torn character, he is strong but has a weakness that is Maggie. He was in love with her for a long time but waited for her to grow up. It was tough to keep his status with the king back then. He was bound by duty. Maggie was a spitfire from the word go. She was a sweet young girl that wanted to learn everything that Robert was willing to teach her about sex and love. They are such a good couple, she helps fulfill the kinky side of Robert and he opens her up to all things . Nina did a great job with these characters , well researched and lovingly written. I fell in love with both of these characters.
I will tell you that Nina will rock your world with this story. It is well researched and well written , her characters are so full of life . They make you want to cheer for them and honestly you will want to smack a couple of them upside the head. I really want you all to read this book . So check it out I know you will not be disappointed.

MY REVIEW
Have you ever had a book that totally gutted you with every turn of the page. This was that book for me . I was crying at the end of the first chapter. In the book we meet Maggie a girl that is stolen from her family at the mall. She is thrust into the horrific world of human trafficking and the child sex trade. As he family frantically tries to find her with the help of a detective that vows to bring Maggie back home .
Trust me the characters in this book you will feel for them. They are in the worst circumstances imaginable and they become like a family. Cali, Max, Shana are the first people she meets. They are so broken you just want to hug them and take them home. As the story grows and the horrors are coming at them. Maggie grows stronger even though she is being destroyed every chance the perverts have. She sees so much , you wonder if she will end up a lost child hooked on drugs . But alas she prevails and even when traded she still fights back in her own way. These characters are so broken and flawed. But they are also survivors , they adapt to what needs to be done and even if it is the most evil , they do come out on top. You see the evil just pouring off the perverts and you really want to shoot them yourself.
I will tell you right now the author takes us into the depths of hell. You will read things that will make you cry and make you want to scream. Trust me I ugly cried about 20 times during this book.
The author makes us think and react to every scene in the book. You will want a happy ending for everyone but unfortunately there isn't usually a happy ending for them . Trust me, I actually had to put this book down a couple of times and walk away . I just needed to take what was happening and digest . But for every time I put it down the more I thought about it and went back to reading . I just couldn't get Maggie and her friends out of my mind . They made that much of an impression on me .
This is not a book for the faint of heart , there are horrific scenes of child violence and graphic sexual content. This isn't a book for young people either. You will see a happy ending for Maggie but remember there isn't usually a happy ending. So please give this book a chance. I promise you will come away with a new awareness of the dark places in humanity .

It was a beautiful day. It was a beautiful field.
Except for the body.
But he's also the son of the world's most infamous serial killer, and for Dear Old Dad, "Take Your Son to Work Day" was year-round. Jazz has witnessed crime scenes the way cops wish they could--from the criminals' point of view.
Jazz is a likable teenager. A charmer, some might say.
And now, even though Dad has been in jail for years, bodies are piling up in the sleepy town of Lobo's Nod. Again.
In an effort to prove murder doesn't run in the family, Jazz joins the police in the hunt for this new serial killer. But Jazz has a secret--could he be more like his father than anyone knows?
MY REVIEW
Wow is about all I can say this is a book that had me hooked from the very first page. I started in the evening and I know I shouldn't of because I read well into the night. Yes I admit I did have a book hangover the next day.
We meet Jazz a young man that has had a hard life. His father was a serial killer. Poor Jazz even had go and help every now and then. After his dad is arrested , Jazz is dropped of with is absolutely kooky grandmother . Omg you will giggle out right when you read some grandma scenes but there ar things that Jazz has hidden that some might think that he is just like his dad. So he decides to help out the police to solves murders as a new serial killer is among them .
I just couldn't believe the dark twists and turns the author takes his characters in the psychological thriller . The author writes such good dark characters . You can feel the frustration that Jazz has and how he is fighting his inner demons as he helps the police find the serial killer. But it isn't all dark Jazz's friend Howie, who is a hemophiliac . Connie, Jazz's girlfriend. Oh don't forget grandma she had dementia and the scenes with her will make you laugh out loud
I couldn't believe the dark place the author went to . The twists and turns had me guessing all night long. The story moved at a good pace and when you think you have it all figured out the author sends you down a different path and you start all over again. But, it isn't all dark gloomy in this thriller . There are some light parts that mix with the dark so well. There is a lot of gore happening in this book so you have to be able to handle the gore aspect. This book gave me the heebie jeebies every now and then. I can't wait to read the rest of Barry Lyga's books.
So if you want to read a good story with lots of mystery intrigue and a few laughs. This book will keep you reading all night long . I will tell you though if you read this book, read it with the lights on cause you will get a little freaked out. DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU lol. This is a book to read , you won't be disappointed .

Imagine yourself, born into the suburbs, your parents working class people, your school nothing special.
Imagine that, for some reason far beyond your understanding as a very young child, a god that you didn't even know existed ear-marked you as his bargaining chip in a trade across realities.
Imagine that, from the time of that first first meeting and for your next eighteen years, that god - Anubis - threw everything he could think of at you, to break you, to torment you, to forge you into this thing to be traded.
And imagine that, at the end of it all, you passed all of the tests, leaving your life in a shambles, never knowing that you were being tested at all and, when the time came, Anubis appeared and tricked you into giving up your soul to him, only to make the trade and give you over to another god, named War, who by comparison made Anubis seem like a pretty nice guy.
I'm Randy Morden - welcome to my world. A world named 'Fovea,' where magic is real, technology the stuff of fantasy, and warriors with swords ride horses into battle, trying to stay one step ahead of their gods' will. I didn't ask for this life, but I promise you: before anyone ever knocks me down again, I'm going to have their blood on my knuckles, because a man can only be pushed so far!

MY REVIEW
Well what can I say. This is a brilliant book of pure fantasy. We have a young man that is basically was born to be traded by an Egyptian god Anubis. From the time Randy was young , Anubis has thrown everything and anything to try and break the young man. But as we go along we find out that Randy is more than just human. As he travels across the land Fovea trying to stay one step ahead of the gods . He meets knights and dwarves and all matters of magical beings He vows before they are done there will be blood on his hands
The characters in this book are such good characters. We have the true evil which are the God of War and Anubis . Anubis is one evil dude that drives poor Randy to the edge. He doesn't make Randy some type of sword wielding superhero. He is just a man , who for the fun of the gods is transported to another universe. He is a flawed man and is so angry about what has been done to him. That he want revenge and will do anything to get it. Randy is just a man that wants to love with his whole heart and have that love returned . But he is a man and is quite cruel at some points But he will prevail and give a world of hurt to those Gods that want to use him.
The author takes on a ride that is pure magic and fantasy, that doesn't drag in any area. He doesn't dwell on the insignificant little descriptions of things. It flows as such a great pace. You will get sucked into this fantasy world. You will gasp and cheer for Randy /Rancor. You will want him to defeat everyone. This isn't your typical fantasy book. So if you are looking for a book with lots of action, loads of intrigue and of course there is a lot of fighting . Check this book out , just be prepared to be sucked into a great fantasy world . Where everything old is the norm and the ways of the modern world is considered magical. This is the book for you . I will tell you it is a big book but the time will fly when you start reading. So if you are brave enough check it out You will not be disappointed at all

This is the second book in the GUARDIANS OF SCOTLAND series . Conall and Effie's story. I was so excited when I saw Victoria's new book. I loved Effie and Conall in book one and I was so excited to find out that they were getting their own story. So I started reading and finished it that day. I got lost in the story and I actually did have an ugly cry at one point in the story. But I was cheering for them. I knew they had to have a happy ending . Not going to say what happens but there is a baby born at the end of the book.
Victoria takes us on such an adventure. Honestly she makes hot sexy Scotsmen even hotter by having them dragon shifters. I mean there is nothing sexier. The women who love them and will do anything to help them and protect them. They maybe stubborn but you will love them in spite of that . Trust me on this fact ladies. There is hot sex, romance mayhem and danger all rolled up in this book. You will cheer, laugh scream and cry in this book.
Her characters are honest and do have flaws which is why I think I love them so much. There is so much more going on in the book, the battle of good and evil is such a great subplot and Marcus is turning out to be one evil man.
So if you want a great read on these cold January nights . Why not curl up with the Dragonkine dragons and the women they love. I HEAR THE HIGHLANDS CALLING so go and check out THE GUARDIANS OF SCOTLAND SERIES

MY REVIEW
OH MY GOD I was so excited when I found out that one of my all time favorite authors was writing a new book. I jumped up and down and did the happy dance . So when I got the book. I was like ok lets do this sit down and start reading . Well I started this book in the afternoon, curled up on the couch with a chai tea and warm blanket . Started reading thinking that I could put down and do some house work and come back to it . Boy was I wrong, I couldn't put it down . I honestly think the only time I got up and put the kindle down was , I don't think I put the kindle down until I turned the last page.
Pam really knows how to write tough as nails bad boys that have been wronged but turn out to be the hero in the end. I am thinking that Logan/ Evader could very well be the new hot man in my life. He is a man that is smart, sexy and lethal. He is a man that has been wronged but is out for revenge. Kaci is one kick ass heroine, who isn't a shrinking violet. She has been blackmailed into doing things for the families she absolutely hates to keep her husbands secret. She is strong and has a back bone made of steel . When they meet there are fireworks and oh boy do I mean fire works . I was OH MY GOD and HOLY sh****t all the way through the scenes with Logan and Kaci. Yes they are that hot , trust me leather and motorcycles and illegal racing what is there not to like .
But for every oh my god yess moment , there were also tears flowing down my cheeks. You really feel for what poor Kaci has to go through. Her marriage and her love for her best friend and the way that they have to live . They were thrown into the marriage because of their families . I better stop there cause if I continue I will telling you the whole story.
All I can say is that Pam has taken us there again. She has written an action packed, adrenaline fueled book. There is so much sexual tension between the characters , your fingers will be burned if you hold the pages too long. There are twists and turns, tears and laughs . You will be reading all night long . Trust me ladies you will want to read this book.
The snake scene along will have you laughing . The leather clad Evader, will make you swoon. The suit clad Logan will make you pant. You will love all the all the characters from Collin to Kaci and you will absolutely fall in love with Logan/Evader. Trust me Pam made me fall in love with my first biker.
So if you want and action packed book that will make you laugh and cry. Check out Pam's new book . I will definitely say this book will give you a book hangover and you will so want to read it over and over again. So if you want a hot sexy book with kick butt characters. Check out this book you will not be disappointed I guarantee it,

GOOD MORNING ALL ITS A VANILLA LATTE TUESDAY
Good morning all, well I just want to say its still dam cold out so what does this girl do, she snuggles down and reads three books , yes I say three books. So today I am reviewing
THE UNBORN by Amber Lynn Natusch.
BOOK BLURB
Khara has spent centuries discovering everything about the Underworld―except her place in it. But when she’s ripped from her home, solving the riddle of her origins becomes more important than ever. With evil stalking her through the dark alleys of Detroit, she finds salvation from an unlikely source: a group of immortal warriors sworn to protect the city. Khara needs their help to unravel the tangled secrets of who and what she is—secrets many seem willing to kill for. But time is running out, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer necessity binds her to an arrogant fallen angel.
Can their shaky alliance withstand that which threatens her, or will her soul fall victim to the unholy forces that hunt her―those that seek the Unborn?
MY REVIEW
This is the first book I have read from this author. She mixes the gods and goddess's of Greek mythology in this urban fantasy book . And I am now going to go and read the rest of her books. She takes us on a fuel filled adventure. Yes it does start out a little slow and you wonder what is going on with the lead character Khara , but it does pick up and then you won't be putting it down.
There are a lot of characters in this book and each and everyone of them has his part to play in keeping Khara safe. They reveal that they are immortal warriors that are fighting unholy forces.
She also finds out that she is an unborn which makes her very desirable.
This could be read as a stand alone book as I read it as but have been told by others to read her caged series to help understand some of the characters that are in this book. Which is good with me hehehehe. You know any excuse to find a new author and read her work is ok to me.
The author mixes Greek gods and goddess's and angels . She did a really great job mixing the two and the setting works so well. There is no romance in the book but she does point us in the direction of a potential love triangle. There is alpha males and some fighting also a young woman trying to figure out who and what she is. The author made me fall in love with Oz and Khara.. The setting is in Detroit , which actually helps this story out, I liked it .
This isn't a story about a defenseless girl living with a bunch of warriors. They are all kiss ass fighters and there is a lot of fighting and some blood. There are some really scary supernatural enemies. There is also family and finding out who you truly are. So if you like a mixture of greek gods, goddess's and angels both dark and light . So if you like a great urban fantasy. Check out Amber Lyn Natusche books . You wont be disappointed .

GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE
Good Monday all, hope you are getting a lot of reading done during unbelievably cold snap that has us all staying indoors. Today we are going to review THE ICE CREAM WAR the mystery of hot fudge and murder by Paul Janson.
BOOK BLURB
BOOK BLURB
A mystery of rival ice cream shops in a small town in middle America. Jerry, a California surfer, returns to his home town and opens an ice cream shop where he is giving away his ice cream. This threatens Mary owner of the only other ice cream shop in town with disaster until there is a murder in Jerry's shop. Mary find herself reluctantly trying to prove that Jerry didn't kill anyone, although she thought of killing him to save her shop, and Jerry ends up working beside her in her ice cream shop. The plot continues to become more and more complicated as Jerry's friends from California show up carrying drugs and threats. Between the "war" and the murder things are getting as sticky as fudge in a hot July day with four year old murders adding to the mystery. Soon it looks like Jerry and Mary will be the next victims if they are not arrested by the DEA first.
MY REVIEW
Well who knew that owning an ice cream shop could be so deadly. This book had me turning pages from the very start. It is a light hearted murder mystery with such an oddball cast of characters . Jerry the California surfer dude , who comes back home to open an ice cream shop. Mary the owner of the rival ice cream shop which has been there forever . They become friends after someone is murdered in Jerry's shop.
As Mary helps him find out who murdered the poor guy . There are other cast of characters that keep coming into their life from California bringing drugs and death. So as they race to find the murderer they have the DEA on their tails . Will they get arrested before they find the suspect.
I absolutely adored this book and you are wondering why. Well the author wrote such quirky down to earth characters. They are down to earth and so relatable. You have two old friends that are now rivals in the ice cream business and then are thrown together. They do have chemistry and you really hope for a little bit of romance or at least let them combine their business. The friends of Jerry are the friends that you know we all have but don't want to admit it . Those friends that are bad for you but are as funny as hell when they are around . I like the way the author has used everyone in town. He didn't leave out anyone but it didn't read busy.
This isn't your normal who dun it murder mystery. This is a light hearted quirky murder mystery. You will be shaking your head trying to figure who the murderer is and trust me I couldn't figure it out until almost the end. Which in my opinion is the way a mystery book should be written. You will laugh and I mean you will really laugh. So if you like a mystery story with a little bit of home spun lighthearted humor. Check it out , you will not be disappointed . I recommend this book to all .

BOOK BLURB
How far will a man go when his family is threatened? Mason Seaforth is about to find out. He is a mild mannered accountant living a quiet, idyllic life in the quiet community of Gulfport, Florida with his wife, Samantha. At least, it’s quiet and idyllic until Sami, as she’s known to her friends, vanishes the night of their 20th anniversary.
Mason is thrown into a life that is meant for other people as he and their brash friend, Marcie Kane, try everything to find out what has happened to Sami. A search of Sami’s computer uncovers notes describing a past that Sami has buried for more than 20 years.
Mason and Marcie are thrust into a race against a sadistic killer to discover what has happened to Mason’s wife. He reluctantly exchanges his spreadsheets for a Glock 17 and he and Marcie follow a trail left behind by Sami which leads them to a confrontation with some very dangerous people from Sami's past in Canada. Mason is required to make decisions that he could never imagine himself making and each one has deadlier consequences than the last. The wrong one could result in the death of his entire family.

MY REVIEW
This book had me hooked from the second page. The mystery starts from the very beginning . I mean Mason wakes up to literally finding his wife of twenty years has just vanished. So like most good husbands he goes looking for her with his best friend. The story starts off of in Florida and stretch all the way up to Eastern Canada. You also meet some very unsavory people that put Mason, his daughter, wife and best friend in grave danger and get them all killed.
I absolutely loved the characters in this book. Mason isn't some hero cop out for justice. He is an ordinary guy with an ordinary job. He is pushed into finding his wife and does it without turning into a vigilante. Macie is such a fun character to read, for lack of a better word she is zany. She wants to find her best friend and has to help the man who she always thought wasn't good enough for her best friend . She was the funniest character and I think the book needed her refreshing and quirky presence.
The Author took us on a roller coaster ride. The mystery was intense and the lengths the man would go to get his family back. You will be trying to figure out how and why all the way through this book.
You will be kept on the edge of your seat as you read . I will warn you though there are some graphic scenes of violence and sex . So I would suggest that this book be read by anyone over the age of 18. If you want a great mystery read that would keep you reading until the end. This is the book for you. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

INSATIABLE A MERMAID'S CURSE by Daniele Lanzarotta
BOOK BLURB
Arianna always felt like she didn't belong in the world where she was born. Ever since she was little, she used to hide behind the rocks in the sea, and watch the human family who spent their summers on that island. Over the years, there was nothing she wished more than to be like them, especially so she could get close to Blake, the human boy who she saw turn into a troubled teenager and then, an unhappy man. Once her dad grew tired of her dreams and hopes for a reality that is not her own, Arianna is thrown into an arranged marriage, and her only way out of it is to make a deal with the power-hungry man who will give her everything that she has ever dreamed of. Dreams that turn into nightmares as she watches Blake's world fall apart, because of her and Blake's inability to control their desires for one another.
MY REVIEW
This is my first mermaid story, it was recommended by a friend. So I decided to take a chance because I usually don't go for mermaid stories . Well I am glad I did. This was a very fast read for me . I started in the afternoon and was done by the time it was bed time. Arianna is a mermaid that so wants to be on the land with legs and to fall in love with the object of her desire Blake. She has wanted him since she was young , she watched him grow up and her love grew with it . But alas she has problems of her own. They are thrown together and the world falls apart around them because they can't keep their hands off of each other.
Lets just say there is so much going on in this book , you will not be disappointed. We have arranged marriage under the sea, a human almost engaged to another human. There is magic and evil. There is romance and angst of young love and the burden of family. Doing what is expected of your family instead of doing what is in your heart. It reads like a cross between the little mermaid and Romeo and Juliet . There are times that you will be laughing and other times going what the hell just happened and why did they have to go through that. Oh yeah don't forget the ocean, and it figures into the story also.
The characters are well written and honestly you want to give Arianna a good shake every now and then and say Girl you will get through this and quit being a pushover. Blake is a very broken man he has had so man bad things happen to him through his life . You just really want to hug him or shake him hard every now and then. I mean he bounced back and forth so much. One minute he was loving Arianna and the hurting her. I really just kind a wanted to slap him , but he finally realized and grew up in my opinion and realized that Arianna was the one there for him day in and out . That he wanted to be the hero in her fairy tale. The character that surprised me the most was Owen. He was totally a bad boy, and party boy. He even did the nurse in Blake's hospital bed while Blake and Arianna were at physical therapy. Which only a bad boy would do. As you read this book you each character grow and when things come to light towards the end of the book . You will finally understand why Blake and Owen acted the way they did. Especially Owen.
The author took me on a roller coaster ride with lots of twists and turns. But I will warn you though there is a big cliff hanger at the end of this book. I was frustrated cause I really want to know what the heck will happen and will they actually get their happily ever after. This book is a great afternoon read . So grab a cup of tea a snack and a cozy blanket . Settle down and be prepared to swim with the fishes . Ok I know that was bad but hey had to throw it in there. If you like mermaids with a twist . Check it out

MY REVIEW
This is my first YA book of the year. And what can I say about this book. It is a sweet book which introduces us to a you witch, who doesn't know she is a witch. Jayde is a seventeen year old, who is reeling from the death of her father and a mother that is determined for them to move. Jayde thinks that she wants to move to get away from all the memories of her father and the tragedy that has happened Boy was she wrong , they move and Jayde keeps running into a green eyed stranger. Which at the beginning she doesn't think she saw him because one min he is there and the next he is gone. Until the day that her mother is run off the road and killed . Ok now what is a girl going to do she has no parents and this green eyed stranger shows up and tells her that when she turns eighteen . She will receive magical powers . But there is a catch, there are people out there that want that magic and will do anything to get it. So what is a girl to do? She finds her new family and gets the help with the magic. Oh yeah save the day and her best friend Scarlet, from her power hungry birth mother and also fall in love with the boy who is there for her.
This is the first book in the series and the author did a very good job. This is a sweet young adult paranormal book. There is magic and a very sweet romance , the first love. Bently and Jayde as such sweet characters and you see them grow closer and closer. But there is also magic and intrigue . A kidnapping of her best friend. You feel for Jayde, you want to wrap her up in your arms and hug her . You know her feelings as she is being taken away from what she know . As the story continues you see her grow and become a strong young woman that will do anything to protect the ones she loves . Even though sometimes she doesn't know what she is doing .
The author did a great job with the characters and story line , but I think that someone younger would like this book also. The way the author writes the conversations make it an easy read for some one from the age of 13 and up. The dialogue was just a little choppy for me . Overall I really liked this story and the characters . I can't wait to see more from this author and her characters . The story line was a great introduction to paranormal romance for young people.
This is a great book for your teenager to get them started in reading paranormal. This is a great introduction. I am going to be giving this book to some teens in my life. I am thinking this book would be a great read for some one between the ages of 13 to 17. So if you want to introduce your young reader to paranormal this will be the book for you. So check it out

Good Morning everyone hope you are ready
Good Friday all it is January second and we are off to a good start on our ready challenge for 2015 . I have the books ready now just need to settle down and read . Today I and going to review CALLED BY THE BEAR by V. Vaughn
BOOK BLURB
MY REVIEW
This is the first book in the series and I will say it a good start. We have a curvy girl who also is a master tattoo artist , a bonus in my books cause I love tattoos. She has the same romance dilemma that most of us have . Until she starts dreaming of a huge sexy man with a body that doesn't stop and eyes that haunt you in your dreams . But there is another aspect to these dreams she just doesn't understand the big ass bear that keeps appearing .Those dreams set Carly and her best friend off on a journey to find their destiny
This book is a the first in the series and sets up the series quite nicely. For me it started out a little slow but picked up speed as you start reading it. The characters are solidly written and you can identify with. They are curvy girls and great friends . I like the way the author has them as strong independent women , who throw away their jobs to follow their dreams. She didn't make them whiny or weepy boohhooooo look at me I am curvy and no man wants me. She gives them a back bone which is good. You can't help but fall in love with Carly and Sienna, they are snarky and trust me you will laugh and cry with these girls . I just can't wait till they get their big bear men and what kind of trouble and how much hot sex they are going to have . I have a feeling these big bear shifters are going to be in for a ride of their lives . I will be there for the ride and I can't wait.
Just a reminder this is the first book in the series so there is a lot of set up for what is to come. It is a great start and you meet some great characters . It is a bit slow at the start but as you read it gets really good and funny , can you say ROAD TRIP. So if you want a different type of shifter book with snarky curvy women and tall sexy men this might be the book for you . Check it out

Sierra Steele here, and ready for adventure – We’ve been chosen. The moment I saw Carly’s first tattoo, I felt the undeniable attraction of the guy I’ve been dreaming about. My cautious friend can’t resist the pull either, and we’re off to the mountains to get answers. Something’s calling us, and I’m certain the hunky men are our exciting destiny. They’ll keep us safe from the bear, right?
Part 1 of the Called by the Bear Serial

BOOK BLURB
New album, new tour, new relationships.
With their new album done a tour on the horizon Thirteen Shades of Red has one last thing to do before it all starts: filming their new music video. Their record company pulls out all the stops for this one, including hiring on rising starlet Misery Chastain. And she’s single, a fact that has not escaped Shade’s guitarist Tosh Tillman.
Poised to be a leader in his shifter clan, Tosh is expected to take a mate and settle down. Those plans don’t fit with those of his family by choice and their bid for stardom. The one thing he is sure of is his interest in Misery. The woman is every fantasy he has ever had made flesh and he is determined to be the one to work with her for the video.
And Misery has her sights set on Tosh as well. A woman with a hidden past, she’s got secrets she’s dying to tell the only man that makes her blood pump hot… secrets that could destroy a burgeoning relationship, or bring it closer together.
When the object of Tosh’s lust wakes his beast, it seals their collective fate. He wasn’t looking for a mate, but it seems one found him. Too bad Misery is human… or is she?
Caught between the worlds of music, Hollywood, clans and courts, two people will have to learn how to be together and still be part of their own worlds.
Warning: This book contains a sexy shifter who is really good with his hands, a leading lady with a girlfriend and some supporting characters that could possibly steal the book. It is not intended for anyone under 18, as there are sexual situations and a veritable cornucopia of sailor talk. Reader discretion is advised.

MY REVIEW
This is the fourth book in The Shades of Red Series. This is Tosh's book. I have been so looking forward to this book ever since Stella said she was writing it . I am addicted to the series . Why you ask? Well that is a good question. We have rock stars , yeah you are probably thinking another rock star book. But wait there is more, trust me on this . The lead singer can see dead people , another member is a hot and I mean hot Demon. The drummer is well she is just hot and in love with a fae record producer. Then there is Tosh who is a chimaera a shifter with three distinct animals . He wasn't looking to fall for anyone . But Misery comes into his life and has the pull on him that awakens his third. But she is human or really is she. Now together they must fight to stay together . He is touring and she is an up and coming movie starlet. So they work at being together as they find out that they are destined to be mated and she is a succubus . Now if that doesn't have you hooked then I forgot to tell you about King Ralph falling in love by throwing up on a female glimmer toad . You have to read the book to get what I am talking about.
Stella has done it again. The Shades of Red series just keeps getting better and better. She loves to take us on a ride and its one hell of a ride. When other authors are rewriting the same story over and over . Stella and her writing partner Audrey push the boundaries and create unforgettable characters . Who you will laugh with and cry with . You also want to strangle them and high five them when they get it right, finally. All of their characters are very lovable but do have some flaws that will make you want to just hug them and keep them safe. But all her characters aren't human there is one that you will get a kick out of . King Ralph and he is a big blue blog of a frog who in my humble opinion steals the show in every scene he is in. From interrupting Tosh and Misery to throwing up all over a female glimmer frog. Just read the book to find out not going to tell you anymore.
Now if hot sex with a hot shifter isn't enough which I think it is . Throw in some girl on girl action and it sets the whole book on fire. I didn't mind the girl on girl action , it was perfect fit to the story line and the ladies handled it very well. So if you want a great series with hot rock stars and a little on the side check out the SHADES OF RED SERIES and most definitely check out PINNED YOUR WINGS . I so know you will not be disappointed
