Ponce de Leon was sent on a voyage to explore this land he called Pascua Florida, for the King of Spain. His job was to find more gold and the Waters of Life to help heal King Ferdinand who was 35 yrs older than his young wife. When he asked the Indians to join them for a meal and about the waters of life for the King, he was forced to go through the swirling lights to find Merlin in exchange.

Marlena who is a history teacher in the year 2014 was dressed like Merlin at the Renaissance Fair selling bottles of water with the words Fountain of Youth on them to raise money for the school. Little did she know she would get picked up by a knight, and go through swirling rainbow lights back into the year 1513.

It was at the pilgrims’ dinner with the Indians that it was discovered what year she was in and who she was dining with. She already had a hate for Ponce for kidnapping her to this place, but when he choked on some food and she did CPR to bring him back to life that is when her life became in danger. Now she was considered a witch and the person she disliked the most was the one to protect her and help her get back to her time.

                           MY REVIEW

 Ponce de Leon is sent on a mission, to find the fountain of youth but there is a twist is that he is a time traveller. He is sent to find the waters by King Ferdinand and is forced into the swirling lights. Marlena is a teacher in 2014 and was dressed like Merlin at a Renaissance fair. Little did she know that she was going to be kidnapped by a knight and whisked back to 1513 . Where she hates Ponce for kidnapping her but when he chokes she saves him and sets out on an adventure where the Indians want to keep her and the towns folk want to try her for being a witch. Only Ponce can help her out and keep her safe.

   Oh my goodness this is one of those books that have such wonderful characters . Ponce is very much the knight and explorer. He is sweet but stern he was wanting to find the water for the king so he could be free. Marlena is well she is feisty and a one in a million . She is fun loving when she is telling the story to her grandson. You really feel how much they cared for each other through out the book . All the characters are so well written and complex. 

  This is a fun historical read with the twists of another great historical romance . The characters are well written and complex and the story has so many twists and turns that will have you turning pages . The author has created a wonderful world that you get sucked into .     So if you like historical romance with great twists check it out.
