                         MY REVIEW 

     For Amber her fate was dictated to her before she was even born . She is Queen but also is human . She is torn between her friends and her love .  When she is vulnerable her best allies become her weakness . The tall dark man has a plan that he has set in motion that could threaten the very existence of the Blood Prophecy . Will he be able destroy Amber or can she over come and with her powerful friends save the world . 

   The characters in this book are vast and many which some I connected with and some were just kind of there . The main character Amber is a character that you can easily love she is strong but also flawed . She is written well and she is complex in some ways . These characters will have you liking them . 

  This book is a good read if you can keep all the characters straight in your mind . The author has made an universe that you could get sucked in . I had trouble getting into this story though . I felt like I couldn't really connect with the characters , I felt like there was so much crammed into the story I got lost with all the bouncing back and forth . I think maybe if it was scaled back a bit I would of enjoyed it better . Over all I did enjoy the story and will read this author again . So if you want a story to read this Halloween check it out .

                           MY REVIEW 

 

  This is a sweet story with wonderful characters . Lidiya is a wonderful woman who 's whole life has been ballet. She loves her job and loves to dance . Patrick is a hard working man who loves ballet but he was thrown for a loop when he becomes a dad . They are a sweet couple that are friends and you watch them fall in love . Its so much fun to see them come together and feel their way around each other . They both have insecurities and fears that bring them together and sometimes push them apart . They are well written and complex and they will tear at your heart strings .  

  This is a sweet novella , I am not usually a sweet romance reader but this book sucked me in and had me reading well into the night . The author has a style of writing that will have you caring for the characters in a way like they are family .  The story is well written and have you tearing up a time or two and also cheering for the main characters . This would be a great little story for your winter nights so check it out.

                       MY REVIEW 

  Petra is on the hunt for the blade that might help her bring back the man she loves . When she meets the man who stole the blade and she fights the attraction that is growing between them . Things fall apart when they are caught by mad priests that are wanting to use the blade in a vile ritual . Together they have to keep the blade safe and risk everything to stop the order from doing the ritual and the plan can never come to light . 

   This is a very interesting dark fantasy book . The characters are well written and complex . Petra is a strong woman with a magic that can bring back the dead . She goes through so much to keep evil from rising . We see her break down and build herself back up again. There are huge list of characters that come in and out of her life as she tries to figure out what she needs to do .They are all written well and you will fall in love with them all . 

  This is a book that when you sit down to read you will be transported into a world of necromancers , cults of priests that want to bring back evil .  The author creates a world that will have you sucked in by the end of  chapter one.  The flow of the story is good through out the book and you see the growth of the characters through out the book. So if you want a book that will transport you to a time and place of a past time . Check it out for your Halloween reading night .

                       MY REVIEW 

   When a consulting firm pulls into town and starts wandering around . Mayor Jansen is intrigued when a sweet woman steps out of the van Michaela .  She is like a breathe of fresh air to the community and to Jansen . Who is dealing with the death of his wife . But things aren't what they seem when people start seeing a ghost and when Michaela is around town trying to revitalize it . Will professional relationships go to the wayside when hearts are involved . 

   The characters are such fun to read . Michaela is so feisty and man she can kick some butt when she really wants to be .  Jansen well he is a sweet guy who has been through a lot in his life . You really want to hug him and tell him that things will be ok . He reminds me of a good ole Texas boy who will hold your hand , open doors and beat a guy if he looks at his woman wrong . The rest of the book group and back and I must say I love BJ he is such a hoot. 

  This is the fourth book in the series and it is such a fun light read that you can curl up with and enjoy. I finished this book in an evening and giggled my way through . Just reading therapy and zippers make me giggle hard . The author has a great way of making you feel good as you read along . Don't get me wrong there is also a mystery that goes along with the romance in this book . You will love all the characters in this book and yes you can read it as a stand alone but if you want to get to know the rest of the gang I would read the other three books first . Check them out I promise you will love them as much as I do

  Good Sunday all , hope you are having a fantastic weekend . Today I have a new author and he retelling of a favourite story of mine . EVER ALICE  by H.J Ramsey . 

                             BOOK BLURB

  When poor Alice's telling's of Wonderland go on for so long , it ends up getting her put into and Asylum. Now that she is fifteen , she just wants to leave even if that means doing an experimental procedure that could take Wonderland away from her forever .  When the white rabbit shows up at the last minute to take Alice away to help save Wonderland and take out the Queen of hearts . Will she be able to do the task or will love . a scandal and some intrigue get in the way of her finishing her mission. Will Alice find herself on the wrong side of the axe . 

  When you think of a retelling of Alice you wonder what the author will do to make them more exciting and fresh . This author puts poor Alice through it. Alice is now fifteen and she is a shy young woman who just wants to belong .  When she gets to Wonderland we see her find her legs and starts to come alive when she interacts with the Queen and the characters of court. Oh my I love the Queen she is well she is absolutely off her rocker . She is one step away from the looney bin . She was such a fun character to read . There are so many more characters that were added which made the wonderland grow even more . We have ghosts this one that are haunting the Queen . 

  This book takes place after the first story of Alice . The author takes us on a emotional ride that will have you reading into the night . This is the first book I read from this author and there were really good aspects of the book and some parts that kind of dragged and felt like you were going around in circles . There were parts of the book that there was so much going on that you kind of felt like you were getting lost in all the hubbub happening . Oh please don't get me wrong I truly enjoyed this retelling of Alice and all the characters the encompass Wonderland . So if you want an interesting retelling of this story check it out . I promise you will enjoy it .

  Amelia has had a rough twenty years . She finally gets to declare the man she thought she loved , dead .  She was swept off her feet by Peter and married him for love and security . Until the night that he left for the store and never came back .  So after twenty years of working hard to give her daughter a good life . It is now time to move on and step out of that part of her life . When she runs into Mitch , one of Peter's friends . They start by having coffee and talking and they start to realize that maybe they should of been together all those years ago . But Mitch has a secret that involves Peter their friend Doug and him .  Will Mitch be able to come to terms with what they did and will they be able to find out what happened to Peter and have the love that was due them twenty years ago . 

   I absolutely adore these characters . Amelia has a spine of steel and she has been working hard after her husband left . She is a fighter and grew strong . I absolutely adore her . Mitch well he is a sweet guy who did a stupid thing when he was young .We get to see him at the beginning as a guy who just wants one thing but he soon becomes the sweet guy Amelia remembers . They are such a great couple and you will love them . 

  This is a second chance at love story with a great mystery thrown in for good measure . I read this book in an evening cause I just couldn't put it down . The author has a way of drawing you in and keeping you on the edge of your seat the whole time . The characters are well written and complex and you will love to hate them but then you will love them . The twists and turns in this book will keep you turning pages and trying to figure everything out .  There is a twist at the end that will have you going OH MY GOD  I never saw that coming . So if you want a good mystery and a second chance at romance . Give this book a try I promise that you will fall in love with these characters.

                                 MY REVIEW 

      Alana's life has been turned completely turned upside down after being bitten by of all things a vampire's reflection.  So now during the day she is in control but at night the vampire  comes out to play . Living on a old plantation and when a new man comes to the island and Alana comes to care for him . Will they survive the curse and come out the other side and will love prevail. 

  This is a story that will have you wanting the main character to survive so much. Alana is a young woman who is going a whole lot of agony . She is possessed by a vampire and kind of given up until Cole comes along .  Then she really starts to fight and become a strong girl that wants to fight for her life . Cole is a sweet guy who wants to have a life with Alana and will do anything to help her break the curse . They are strong together and grow stronger as you read . 

  This is a good story line and the characters are well written . The author has a way of taking you to the edge and then pull you back in .  The story has a vampire and ghosts that are haunting this poor girl . The murders are gruesome and the twist at the end is really great . The only thing that I feel is that the book could be streamlined just a little . It seems like the author has over explained some things and became a little wordy through out the book . Over all I did enjoy this book and would like to read other things from this author . So if you want a good book for this Halloween take a chance .

  We finally get what we have been waiting for . Sinjin finally finds Bryn but things are a little more fighting that is going on .  They fight their way along to finding Jolie . While Emma and the gang are fighting for their lives as school against some possessed werewolves bent on getting Emma . She also finds out a secret that Stone is hiding . Will there be happy reunions and will Emma be able to wrap her head around Stone's secret . 

  I have been waiting for this book . It is full of action and the characters are just getting better and better . We get to see Sinjin come face to face with his love and its all that pretty. He is upset and he has a right to be Bryn has not been the nicest to him and his daughter . Emma has been getting more and more complex as the story goes on , and boy does she come into her own in this book . So much happens with her this time around .  I am not going ruin the rest for you but the rest of the characters are so good . 

   This is such a fun read , I am loving this series and the characters old and new are amazing . There is a lot that goes on in this book and the author takes us on such a fun filled rollercoaster ride .  There is action, romance and mystery going on in this book .  I love that we can keep up with the Jolie Wilks series even after ten years in book time . This is a really fun series to read and I love each and every character and book . So if you want a fun read for this fall and winter check out the series . I suggest you read the series in order so you know what is happening .

  This is a prequel of the Sweetheart strangler series which lets us see the start of the main characters slip into madness that leads him to kill . We see how he can Ryan is the young man who is suave and can charm his way into almost any situation . But we also get to see his dark side .  The women he goes after are sweet and one has his heart even though he wants to kill her.  He is a very complicated man who you can't help but kind of fall for. 

  This is a story that will have you hooked from the first page . You really want to find out what makes the main character tick . The author has a way of taking you on the ride with the main character . This novella is a good fast read that will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting to start the series . Which I am going to check out . This would be a great book for your Halloween night read . So check it out

  Its been ten years since Aria left Caspian on dry land and returned to the sea . She thought that she would be safer with her own kind . Until the sea witch destroys her city and takes her family prisoner . She is forced to go back to dry land bring back the prince that wants to be forgotten . When they come back together will the sparks fly and will they be able to survive what is about to happen . 

  First and foremost this is not your children's little mermaid . This book packs a punch that will have you hooked by the third page. The characters are well written and complex . There are moments when you kind of want to smack Caspian upside the head because he is being such a jerk. Aria she is a fighter and will fight to save her family . But she is also a little naive which sometimes works in her favor . 

 

This is such a great twist on the little mermaid, there is a powerful pull in this book, the author brings out all the feels and will have you on the edge of your seat through out the book .. I will say this is a lot more steamy then most little mermaid stories . I recommend this book for those 18 and over . Check it out if you want a story of love , intrigue . murder and redemption .

   When Tara lost her brother her heart broke and when she saw the man she loved doing something that just didn't sit right with her . She leaves him and now five years later Shepherd wants to know why Tara left and he wants her back . Will the plan he cooked up work or will the misunderstandings of the past come between them again .

   This is a sweet second chance romance , Shepherd is a sweet guy who has had a bit of bad luck when it concerns Tara the woman he loves . He is fun loving and sweet and will do anything to see if Tara still wants him . Tara is a sweet woman who has had heart break in her life . Between her brother dying and loosing Shepherd , she is lost and needing to find herself again .  They are the perfect couple when they come together . 

   This is a second chance at romance novella that will give you the feels . The author has a way of drawing you in and keeping entertained through out the book. The characters are well written and you will cheer for them and there are times you want to slap them upside the head and tell them not to be so stupid . The book has romance . a mystery scavenger hunt . love and oh yeah a dog. So if you wan to try a second chance romance check it out . You will laugh and maybe shed a tear or two . Great for your fall evenings

  Closure is a semi-fictional, semi-autobiographical story about three confused kids, the Game they play, the things they've seen, the stuff they've done, and their all-out avoidance of acknowledging their true sexuality.

                           MY REVIEW 

   When three best friends start a game of truth and dare through out the years . We learn a little bit about Philip, Gary and Paul, they are three young guys that have been through it . The game has be revised and things start to go side ways . Each of them have problems in their lives . 

   The characters in this short story are well written and you will want to hug them and tell them that everything will be ok .  Each of them are trying to grow up in families that well aren't the best in some cases or just are too busy to be with them .  This story isn't for every one , the author tackles some pretty tough and taboo topics . Homosexuality. prison rape . some date rape , parents that don't care , religious beliefs and so much more . The author ties everything up in a story that will have you crying through out the book.  Ultimately this is a book of self worth and love. So this is a real gritty story that will have you rethinking what you think is right. If you dare check it out .

   A rancid, stale odor laced the cold breath that fluttered over my shoulder.

“Listen to me,” a voice hissed in my ear.

It had been ten years to the day my best friend, Sophia Mason had disappeared the night of her sixteenth birthday. Every year seemed harder than the previous one. The ‘gang’ got together yearly to cry, laugh, and remember the girl that was the centre of our world.

Lately, strange things had been happening. It was as if someone or something had a message to send and they demanded to be heard.

It was time to tell the truth, but I’m not sure we were ready to hear it.

                        MY REVIEW 

 It has been ten years since Sophia has gone missing . Each year her best friend Kim and their friends get together and mourn her lose and each year it just gets harder and harder. Until things start to get strange and things start to get weird . Its like someone is trying to get Kim's attention and boy they want to be heard . Kim is going to get to the bottom of this strangeness and get to the truth . But will they be ready to hear the truth. 

   This is a great mystery for your Halloween reading list . The characters are well written and you will love Kim . She is such a complex woman and every year she sees the ghost of her best friend .  This is the year that she finds out where her best friend is , she goes through a lot to get to the truth. I truly loved her , she is one feisty woman who when push comes to shove she wont let anything get in her way . 

  I couldn't put this novella down , the author takes us on a rollercoaster ride . The paranormal part of the book will have you on the edge of your seat . I found that I was really getting involved in the story and I really wanted to figure out where Sophia went or what happened to her . This is a good book for you to read while you are waiting for the little trick or treaters to come and visit . I really like this author's writing style , so check her out and get your halloween read on

                      MY REVIEW 

   When Opal Ibarra has a bad day at a photo shoot , her friend and her go out for a fun night but who knew that this fun night and the next day could end up leading her to her mate . When Gerri Wilder is involved you just never know what could happen . She knows how to pair up fated mates . When Dominic Kingston isn't even looking in walks the woman who completes him, Opal . But will they be able to get past mistakes and get to love each other or just loose what they are trying to build . 

   I must say that these characters are fun to read . Opal or Opie as everyone calls her is one tough cookie . She has worked hard to become a great photographer but one day she feels like it just isn't enough . She is feisty and strong willed but there is a sadness to her also that all she wants is one night stands . Dominic well what can I say he is oh so sexy and dark and brooding . He is one that will have you thinking yes please . He has some dark desires that include rope and other kinks . They are well written and you will love them . 

   Ok going to admit something this was my first horse shifter book , yes its a shifter book . I was like wow this is not a bad story . The characters are well written and the story is part of a great series . The author tells a good story where you will fall for the characters and there are a few time you will be on the edge of your seat . There are also times in the novella where you want to slap them both up the side of the head cause well you know how it goes . There is a cliff hanger at the end of the book . This would be a great book for an evening curled up with a glass of wine . Check it out .

                       MY REVIEW 

 Its prom night and for brother and sister Ramona and Rubin its another night of chaperoning the kids of Baymont High school . There is more going at this prom then meets the eyes . When the power goes out and a ghost ship shows up at the pier . Between the kids stuck in the bathroom and four chaperones that are sexually frustrated and trying to keep themselves under control . What are they going to do . Will Ramona and Ruben be able to keep their secret and keep the kids safe and get the ones they want . We will have to see . 

  This is such a fun novella the characters are so much fun and you will love them from the very start. The author has a fun way of writing that will have laughing yourself silly through out the book . I snorted a few times through out the book , especially the bathroom scene with Ramona and Matthew , fumbling around in the dark couldn't get more hilarious .  This also has a great paranormal aspect to it  with the ghosts that come on in and party .  So if you want a great fun read that will have you laughing all the through the story. Check it out I promise you will not be disappointed .

  Well it is the middle of October today I have a novella from one of my favourite authors . Check out DIARY OF A TEENAGE FEY  by Matthew Cox .

#1 – Elder Horror – Wren has barely recovered from her injuries when her former teacher makes her aware of an abomination nearby. She might be an untested rookie, but she’s the only faerie close enough to confront the elder horror before it becomes unstoppable.

                      MY REVIEW 

  Wren is a sweet girl who is more then human . Being a fey has its greatness but living in the human world that greatness is hidden, She is a hunter and at fourteen it is time for her to hunt the demons that are our there . The human world is different but having a mom and dad again is great, after the job they were on left her alone and her fey parents dead . 

  The characters in this novella are sweet and well written. Wren is your typical teenager trying to fit in but there is more to her then we know . She is tough and sweet and will fight until there is nothing to fight for. Her best friend Katie is such a fun character , she is trying hard to catch Wren up to all things human . Together they are such a fun read and high school couldn't be more fun , 

  This i will admit was a really fast read . A first for this author he has a way of building a universe around each book . Oh don't get me wrong this was a fun book to read and the characters are strong and oh so well written, The story takes you back to high school and the clichés that were there . The story is short and sweet and will have you laughing out loud at some of the high school cliches . This is a fun fast read so check it out . Your teens will get a kick out of it also .

“Sasha you seem like an angry person,” I began as point of conversation. I set my blue china cup down and uncrossed my legs. “Maybe I can teach you to loosen up. I’m certain that eventually you will be so daring as to give me a smile.”

She stared at me in disbelief. “Many of my men and women have died protecting your walls… so you can have tea parties. Forgive me that I don’t see light-hearted humor in this meeting.”

“You’re forgiven.” I shrugged my shoulders accepting her insincere apology. “So obviously no boyfriend then?” I asked, crossing my legs. Not that I cared if she did. It would make no difference to me. If looks could kill, I’d be dead. I let a coy smile out. How I delighted in that hatred. I picked up my tea, taking a mouthful of the coppery herbs. I was praying on the beating vein in her neck. I could be consuming the very creature sitting before me instead of entertaining her in this sophisticated stage that I never used. “Tell me Sasha, how do you see me?”

She responded without hesitation. “I think that you’ve gone crazy during the hundreds of years that you’ve lived. You lack in ambition and act as your brothers lap dog. I’m surprised very few have attempted to take your life and genuinely believe that your arrogance will be your undoing.”

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. “No, no, I meant my looks. Are you attracted to me?” She looked at me dumbfounded and I charmed her another smile. “Play with me.”

She looked away with a sigh that sounded imprisoned for eternity. I took a loud sip to draw her attention back to me. Tick tock. Tick tock. The mouse will come around the clock. She turned again and straightened her shoulders. Much to my shock she flashed her pearly whites with a smile that I thought I would never see.

“Well,” she purred. “You look to be a man in his late twenties. You have pale, smooth, and beautiful skin. Well built in frame, muscular, six foot six in height. You have nice trimmed black hair with a little bit of shadow instead of a full-grown beard. You have a strong muscular jaw and pointed nose with bold dark eyebrows that so beautifully frame those piercing blue eyes that seem to look into my soul every time our eyes meet. You hold a daring confidence that lets any woman in the room know that you are no good for her.” I prompted her to continue. This was the conversation I had been waiting for in the last twenty-four hours. She provided pause and I took that in with a smile. She was attracted to me. “Such a beautiful man, such an intoxicating vampire. And yet,” the charming smile she held vanished. “I find myself utterly repulsed.”

I slowly put my tea down not letting my gaze drop from hers. “Are you certain repulsive is the word you meant to use?”

“Undeniably.” She said dryly.

“You know I could have you dead for saying such a thing to me.”

“And if you were going to, you would have done so by now,” she added finally taking interest in the selections of tea. “I’m not scared of death, therefor, I’m not scared of you.”

“There are worse things than death,” I added, taking interest in her selection of teas. This entire setting was too much even for me. The herbs were disgusting, and my cup of blood was already going cold.

“The only thing that is worse than death is defying it,” she said looking up at me.
